This is about GOS2 but not quite -just wanted to tell you how refreshing (and calming) it is to see someone dislike something, or disagree with something, or someone (Neil, in this case) while being completely polite and respectful to people who do like it (the show, the ship, this season specifically, whatever) and not doing personal attacks or being insulting or downright hostile or aggressive. Just... Liking what you like, not liking what you don't like, and being in your own "bubble" so to speak. I adore the first season, and some moments in this one (not the season in general), and I've had to see and start avoiding absolutely wild stuff since 2019, from haughty superiority from book first fans calling people who liked the show absolute idiots, people directly attacking fanwork creators or even Tennant, Sheen and Gaiman themselves, to even worse stuff I'd rather not think about. As you can probably already imagine, that specific kind of dumpster fire has only gotten worse since the release of S2.
My take on fandom has always been to enjoy what you enjoy and ignore the rest unless it's something serious with real-world implications or consequences. It's always stressed me out how people can get, to the point that for several years I stopped engaging with fandom entirely, and I just wanted to say this, I guess, because it's been a breath of fresh air. I wish more people engaged with fictional material and fandom the way you do. Cheers, hope you have nice day and that this wasn't too weird of a message to get
This is really beautifully put, thank you for the nice message! Yeah all-in-all, these are just a show/a book/content made for people's entertainment, and there's absolutely no reason to get to the point of attacking the cast and crew or fans personally.

hm.... i kinda like that simblr is a gaming And art (creative) community like ... me personally, i can't do gameplay for shit but there's a lot of blogs i follow that spend so much time making sure they have incredibly entertaining/enjoyable gameplay and stories. and then on the flip side of that there's blogs that absolutely put in the work to make killer edits. (and some ppl even combine those skills !!) but what makes it enjoyable to consume is the fact that u can tell the ppl making them had fun !!!
also i remember back in like 2017-2018 when we were all over saturating our pics and using the brightest blushes imaginable- just like every community, we have trends and tags and ask games !! imo this is what brings together the community and ties us into a neat lil bow. people use their favorite sims and tell a story, whether it's with an edit or with gameplay or something else entirely.
not to mention, everyone has a different aesthetic they enjoy !! find the style you like, share that, follow that, explore and learn !!
i guess the point i'm trying to make is don't force urself into something you don't like doing, share what you wanna share, you'll find other blogs who will enjoy what ur posting !! i've been here since like ... 2016, and it took me years to find what i enjoyed doing. just spend time expanding ur personal interests and curating ur blog to how you want it to be !!! i promise u will have sm more fun that way

mayday, mayday!
#in no way do I think tumblr is going down anytime soon#but i’ve realized I’ve always had an naive sort of idea that tumblr would be a constant in my life and forever evolve as I grow#it is just that intertwined with the way i use the internet. i have been here nearly every day since a month after i turned twelve#like i hope this isn’t pathetic to admit but this place was and is a cornerstone of my adolescence#tumblr is my word of mouth. it is my fandom home base. it is my diary sometimes#and it’s not that I can’t learn to use another platform. it’s that the continuity is important to me#my blog is a stream of every love and passion and obsession of my entire teenage hood and as of now the beginning of my adulthood#the thought of having to move somewhere new and break off from this massive and fundamental chunk of my life is hugely upsetting#not to mention my mutuals! and everyone I follow! it’s impossible to round everyone up again if. god forbid. we all have to leave here#and of course blah blah blah everything in life is temporary learn to accept change yada yada#but it’s been part of me long enough where i have a hard time picturing how i could even go about leaving this behind#anyway. nothing bad is happening yet. ok this is gonna sound wild. BUT. Me and my buddy @honeycomb-ferret are attempting to start up a clangen universe vaguely based on cults and evangelical religion, each clan being a different denomination of sorts. Very religious trauma/how growing up under different religions raises many types of different people type framework on a clangen blog. Rn I have it set as four clans but as little as three and as many as can border one another is fine, I love working with others and sharing universes and creativity
I also want to make it clear I’m not asking for free art. It would be your clangen blog and your cats and game and final decision on everything, I’m just looking to work with others on a creative project because I love bouncing ideas off others and sharing worlds with people. You can mute/blacklist certain words and tags. So when those people use certain tags you can mute it and you won't see it
I know, but unfortunately the way tumblr handles it is shit, plus it doesn't work if people don't tag this stuff.
plus, and I know this will sound petty, it does get really, really annoying when I'm scrolling through my dash and all the posts are just a grey square that just says 'POST CONTAINS TAGS YOU BLOCKED: DISCOURSE, QSMP' like that's nice but that's still 30 posts in a row that are greyed out and taking up space. I might as well just J past the posts after catching the first signs of it covering something I do not want to see
