in ep 104, in his statement about danny, he beats himself up over the fact that he couldn't bring himself to move when he saw "danny" up on the stage in the covent garden theatre

I have recently been told about the British superstition of magpies and how of saluting magpies will ward off bad luck. The saluting is to show respect to the bird often connected with bad omens so that nothing bad will happen to you 🍂

Nature vs. Nurture vs. Whatever the Hell This Is

Vlad fucked up.
To be fair, just because he was smart enough to figure out how to make a clone, didn’t mean he was good at it. That became very obvious when the first few clones of Danny melted. Then Danielle destabilized, and Danny had to save her.
By the time the events of AGIT came about, Vlad thought he’d perfected the practice. Dan had a new body and a second chance at life, and Vlad now had a son like he always wanted. They both gained a family, and Danny was happy for them.
However, after a few years, Dan was the first to realize that he and Dani weren’t aging. Danny was.
Through panicked calls and the digging of old files, Vlad discovered that while he’d forcefully grown both Danielle and Dan’s human bodies to what they were now, he’d somehow frozen the intrinsic and extrinsic aging processes.
Both Danielle and Dan were more ghost than human, and with Danny finally bringing peace to Amity Park, their bodies simply did not react to any of the normal stressors in the human world. They didn’t breathe oxygen, they didn’t have to fight off world ending threats every week, and they just simply didn’t expose themselves to enough ectoplasm to continue new cell production. (They even tested this theory by cutting off a lock of Dani’s hair and waiting a few months. It didn’t grow at all!)
Their bodies were just…frozen in time.
Well, damn.
Both Dan and Dani wanted to be on their own by now, but their eternal baby faces were making it impossible. Danny was well off into college at this point, having grown into the Fenton genes quite well, and looked like their older brother or dad rather than Dan’s twin.
Cue a coming-of-age story featuring Dan and Dani as they, quite literally, try to force themselves to grow up and match their mental ages.

Continuing to be back on my bullshit, I'm rounding out the year with the next installment of my Blue Beetle au nonsense or.
AKA @wazzappp 's Blue Beetle headcanons give me life and I'm yoinking them because. Everyone deserves a little body horror. As a treat.
(Well. Except for Oo'Li, by virtue of being the type of alien (yk more or less) that the scarabs are using for that sweet sweet basic DNA template)
Anyway, following my timeline of Jaime ending up with his second 'upgrade' after the reboot re: Khaji Da's last ditch effort to keep him from smashing into the ground of terminal velocity, Xiomara and Roma end up more buggified after their altercation with the Crimson Scarab in issue...2? I think, when their powers get drained, in the same vein of their scarabs getting inventive with ways for their hosts to defend themselves in power drain scenarios.
In keeping with their power-sets/specialities, Roma ends up with a scorpion-esque tail (yes ik that's not an insect but if she can manifest tentacles Im saying it counts) and retractable claws, while Xiomara has fully armored hands/gauntlets and extra insectoid legs

#ive talked a lot about helmets lately oops#i guess i just rly have an obsession with how they're an extension of the driver#and a representation of them and their only sense of personality and individuality when theyre all geared up#so theres something to me about the separation of helmet from driver like in these pics#of course theres pics of the helmet on its own for model kinda pics(like all the pics i used for my past project posts)#but this is its own genre. helmet doing its own thing. helmet away from the vicinity of its owner#helmet being protected from the elements. it has its own carrying bag. it gets an umbrella. etc etc#the first pic made me on the lookout for pics w a similar vibe. Hey besties, ya girl is currently going through a bit of a menty b at the moment 😗 work is legitimately draining the life out of me (standardized testing season is the WORST) and I started looking for a new job (literally anyone hire me pls- I legit have applied to 50+ jobs at this point and have heard nothing but radio silence and rejection) and writing/being on here in general has really taken a backseat.
As much as it sucks, I probably won't be on here as much bc I am spending all my free time looking for jobs, and unfortunately, Javier Peña isn't planning on paying my bills any time in the future 🥴
I'm still planning on working on NTL or other things if inspiration (or time) strikes, but if you don't see me on here as much, just know I am fighting for my life trying to make it to the end of the school year and find a job that gets me out of teaching 😭
I also just hit 2k followers recently (wtf?!?!!) and it genuinely means SO much to me that y'all have been so sweet and kind to me and my stories. I don't think I have time to do a celebration, but I just wanna let you know I am so thankful for each and every one of you. Sending big hugs and smooches to all of you, I love you all so much 🥺💛

I get hating certain political systems and trying to abolish totalitarian regimes but at the same time many of them are so interwoven with our history and society they have become tropes and when I consume media with a setting where the monarchy is absolute and revered then I am playing my part and sucking that princeling off
