how's the job hunt going? would you ever relocate for a job love?

Oh wow what a question lol! Honestly i dont expect to be able to find anything new till this strike is over, the competition is insane right now. In the meantime my plan is to teach myself faster hard surface sculpting in z*brush using hockey gear \o/ mostly because i dont want to pay the $150 a month for maya, that shits insane. Like a fucking health insurance payment.

For the second question - i dont think i've ever experienced love like that. I think it would take a lot of devotion and sacrifice to give up your dreams for someone else. Admirable, for sure. And also a sacrifice that historically women are the ones expected to make. Every time. :( For a job? Lol, i would move in a heartbeat. I stayed in pittsburgh 6 years after college for my dream job - i only left when i lost it. Knew the next dream job wasnt going to be there, so made my way to LA. And now im having to come to terms with the idea that the dream job doesnt exist as i imagined it - or only exists for a very VERY select few.

And actually, thats not totally true about me and love. I think if i thought for one second that nick could love me back like i diid him, id already be in new england. When i applied to this one job, that sounded like a dream come true it listed the salary, and brian and i just read it and gaped. We looked at each other and i was like i dont even know what the fuck i would DO with all that. And of course the first thing that popped into my mind was i could buy that sailboat nick always talked about. When i was writing my programming textbook a decade ago, and really going through it, and nick and i were up until 3 or 4am every night painting theater sets, he'd talk about his sailing adventures, teach me rope knots, that sort of thing, basically a mental escape. And so last week i texted him like 'hey no promises but what if im suddenly actually making good money. Do you still want that boat?' Because, nick's worked so long and so hard and all he's gotten to is the point of still working on boats other people own, and its just not fair how devalued physical labor is, you know? And his immediate reaction was to launch into our very old daydream - the whole 'yes and you're coming with me, sail off into the sunset' stuff. And that hadnt occured to me - my idea was just- id give him the boat, and he'd fix it up, and id maybe demand photos or a visit or two every so often. Because i think finally -finally- im at a point in my life where being in love isnt enough - i want the other person to love me back. And lol definitely not someone who declares love one minute and then stops talking to me for weeks or months, and the cycle repeats over and over. I think its possible to love someone enough that you recognize you arent the one for them, but still want them to be happy? Happier than you could make them.

So long answer is yes, i would relocate for love, but i have learned the hard way to know when i shouldn't.

TRENT RAN A HAND ACROSS HIS FACE DISAPPOINTEDLY, facing the floor while he was hunched over on the sofa, the soft background noise of the television keeping him company whilst you were preparing him a snack in the kitchen. He would usually help you do so, it was his food you were making after all, and it would be simply rude to reject your kindness like that — but right now he didn’t have the energy to do so, if not anything at all. You came in a few minutes later with a large tray, plates ringing against it whilst you walked slowly to avoid the glass balanced on it spilling out. Then you sat the tray on the footstool in front of him; an assortment of snacks – healthy enough to be given the ‘okay’ by Klopp and his dietary monitoring staff, but nice enough to give him a small boost of energy.

He smiled softly up at you, then looked back down, deadpanning at the two plates of his favourite snacks splayed out in front him, a drink to the side of them. You pursed your lips, looked him up and down, and then sat next to him – running a comforting hand along his arm – watching as he drew his eyes over the food debatably. “Please eat, baby,” you whispered, kissing his cheek before withdrawing yourself and going back to the kitchen. You paused at the door, poking your head out. “There’s more in here if you want it,” you added, then left the room, sighing.

You closed the door behind you, shaking your head and then resting it on top of your hands, facepalming onto the counter. Trent had lost a game, which is never a good day because his stubborn competitiveness doesn’t let him see through the ways he could improve for next time. It was unhealthy, and you had tried to tell him time and time again, he was probably racing through his mind on every single little mistake he had made, staring at the food you had prepared with unease.

Today, you just couldn’t. You had come back home from your first day at your new job, eyes eagerly busy on watching Trent’s game from your phone, and they had decided to spring a whole department meeting on you. To say you weren’t fully stressed would be a lie, it was your first day and you had already had enough of it. You doubted Trent would want to know about it either, he had already had a bad day of his own, and you didn’t want to pile negatives on top of him.

Your eyes watered, tears gathering near the rim that trickled down onto your cheeks. You looked down, hands clasped together as you sniffled, then covered your mouth and nose with cupped hands to hide the sound of your bunged up nose and soft sobs. The tears were now shedding down your cheeks, and you just stared dumbly at the kitchen counter, allowing it to happen.

Then you heard footsteps behind you, Trent. You glared behind you quickly to make sure it was him, then whipped your head back to face the counter, rubbing your face dry with the sleeves of your jumper. He turned you around by your shoulders as you looked up at him with reddened eyes, the sleeve of your hoodie now wet. Trent was looking down at you, a glint of concern in his eye and a frown; looking your face up and down.

He held your jaw in his hand, rubbing a lone tear away under your eye with his thumb. “You okay?” he mumbled, your face still resting on his palm. You nodded, looking down. “Fine, baby. Go back ‘n’ rest in the living room,” you softly chuckled, sniffling up your remaining tears, smiling politely at him in a bid to hide your emotions as if he hadn’t heard you crying from the other room. He moved his hands from your jaw to the small of your back, hugging you tightly until you gave in and slunk your arms around his.

Trent rubbed comforting circles into your back, and you could hear him softly breathing, the remnants of your crying no longer visible – or audible for that matter. “Didn’t wanna make your day worse,” you murmured into his chest. He pulled off of you momentarily, his brows knitted together. "Just because I’m having a bad day doesn't mean you can't have a bad day baby,” you just looked away, thinning your lips and shaking your head. “Come sit down,” he looked at you with soft but pleading eyes, tilting his head at you like a curious puppy, his bottom lip tucked in.

You simply nodded at him, brushing your hoodie off and checking the sleeves, the cold wet had substance leaked onto them tickling into your skin, and you rolled it up. Trent watched you from the doorframe, hand outstretched which you placed in yours, allowing him to lead you back into the living room. You were pleased to find the array of food you had left out for him gone, the only remainders being the wrappers or packaging it came in. Once you sat down, you leaned back onto the sofa, pillow held between your grasp and Trent’s hand on your leg. He looked at you, whilst you looked down onto the ground, your feet swaying back and forth.

“You know you can tell me anything,” you nodded, biting your lip and exhaling deeply before turning to look at him. “It’s nothing serious.” He raised his eyebrows at you. You bit your lip. “I had to do a massive board meeting on my first day, no one told me about it ‘n’ I wasn’t prepared,” you shrugged. “Just thought it was a bit unfair,” you reassured yourself, Trent narrowed his eyes, shuffling further against you and pulled you into another hug. “Do you want me to say something to them?” he whispered, you shook your head, waving your hands in his face and scoffing

“That’ll give me a bad look,” you shook your head, grinning at him teasingly. “What are you gonna say anyway? ‘Don’t be rude to my girlfriend or I’ll beat you up’?” you raised your brows at him, the corners of his eyes wrinkling up as he scoffed at you jokingly, turning away and rolling his eyes. “Are you sure?” you rolled your eyes back at him, nodding. “You’ve already made me smile, I’m fine–” he looked at you, leaning forward with an unimpressed expression. “--seriously,” you added, your breath hitching at his longing gaze. You grinned to yourself, looking away. “Come ‘n’ kiss me then,” you smiled, eyes poised on his lips and then up at his eyes as you pressed yourself up against him, capturing eachother’s lips in a short but comforting kiss.

You shifted back up off of him, then laughed, huffing to yourself. He frowned at you, his hands dangling by his side, reaching out for your touch. “What?” he pouted at you. “Am I not a good kisser?” you wiped the corner of your lip, chuckling and shaking your head, then pulled your phone out of your pocket, showing him his reflection through the camera. Trent looked at himself, then leaned further into himself to get a further look; your lipstick smudged against his lips. He scoffed, licking his lips and then over at you. “You suit it,” you commented, smirking slyly at him.

He shoved you away from him, laughing as he did so. “Shut up,” he murmured. “Take the day off tomorrow?” he eyed you, the corners of his lips lifting ever so slightly. You tilted your head at him, smiling coyly, knowing it was just an excuse to spend more time with you. “I’ll take that as a yes then.” How could you ever say no?

Hey im actually curious if you can rate it from 1-10 how much is possessive and jealous enhypen members?

so i already described the way they'd act when they're jealous here, but i'll rank them and give you some additional thoughts i've gathered recently.. since that post is a few months old 🖤

this is all just according to tarot and my observations.. pls take it lighty! ᰔᩚ

#1 jake 9.7/10 so.. i kept on debating between him and sunghoon. however, the reason i put jake as no 1, is because he's a lover who's likely to be more emotionally attached to his s/o. in addition to that, his mars is in nonconfrontational libra. this can make him much more passive-aggressive, he won't enjoy openly displaying his jealous nature and will struggle being direct about it. he's someone who will just hold long grudges (scorpios and their lifetime lasting grudges 🥹), find ways to pay you back by making you jealous too.. it's all a bit more dramatic and complicated for him. but it's neck on neck between him and hoon.

#2 sunghoon 9.6/10 the more i read on sunghoon, the more shocked i get about his intensity in love. he's a member who can get much more scary in relationships, since there is such a gap between him as a person and as a lover. he seems to be a big push and pull lover, someone who might give off the first impression of a pretty free-spirited and light-hearted guy.. but boom have him spot his s/o with some other male figure, the man's eyes will turn dark. his energy is pretty heavy whenever i do love readings for him, meanwhile in other readings it can be pretty comfortable.

#3 jay 9.3/10 jay is definitely incredibly possessive. he's someone who holds a lot of responsibility over keeping his loved ones safe and sound, he's very very protective and territorial. his ideal scenario is for you to never leave his side, so that there isn't even the possibility for you to get hurt or be treated badly. this deep desire to never let you go anywhere can definitely express itself in an overly possessive manner.

#4 jungwon 6/10 so, jungwon isn't really the easily jealous or overly possessive type, but he'll feel pretty let down if you manage to get him to that place. i've known a guy with very similar placements to him (aqua ☼ virgo ☾ aries ♀), and he's very easygoing and accepting in general.. however, in love he's immensely passionate. jungwon gives me that same vibe, he's someone who's quite picky and has high standards. so if you manage to date him, he'll expect you to be "all in" and just as dedicated to him as well.

#5 sunoo 5/10 sunoo is a gemini venus.. he isn't really someone who gets jealous a lot, since he usually doesn't take love or relationships seriously enough. but, i remember reading for him, and seeing that he can actually get pretty hurt about people betraying him. i think he kinda stands in his own way by seeming so blasé and unattached to people, when in reality there seems to be a deeply rooted desire to make more meaningful connections, and not just run away from them. i do believe he just needs to mature a little more in order to realize and embrace that.

#6 heeseung 4.5/10 so, heeseung is a very understanding and patient lover. he's someone who's willing, even eager, to put in the work needed to improve his relationships. even when obstacles arise, he isn't really the type to get discouraged or overly emotional about it right away. let's say he caught you texting some other guy.. rather than getting all jealous and vengeful, it's likely he'll just calmly ask you about it without jumping to any conclusions. however, one of his problems in love, can often be the high standards he has for himself. he can be prone to immediately look back on himself, in a more negative manner and blame himself for not having done enough to keep you happy enough. like every problem somehow goes back to him, in heeseung's eyes.

Soooo..... *kracks knuckles* time for my review of the newest chapter and OH BOY what a chapter it is! I dont even know where to start.

(Warning this post is long as fuck and NOT edited, so be prepared for some horrible grammatical mistakes 😜)

Okay so first of, as far as Im aware of, there is literally a feud going on right now on twitter with people debating if this chapter confirms that afo was true evil from birth or not. I did read about this opinion AFTER I read the spoilers and I have to say while I was reading the leaks not ONCE did I have the feeling the narrative was trying to tell me that baby afo was evil from the get go. Its a BABY guys! All what I did see was a child desperatly trying to survive in a fucked up enviroment which continued with the following years!

But lets start from the beginning. There were a few things in that chapter that really surprised me and then some things I reacted like: I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!

What surprised me was the backstory of afos and yoichis mother. Not gonna lie Im a little dissapointed, because I wanted to know more of her and not just "well, she was a prostitute that got pregnant without noticing and then died. End of story." But despite that I think it still works. It confirmed my suspicious from the start that afo and yoichi grew up without parents in a horrible hostile and dangerous world all on their own.

An other theory I had which was more or less confirmed here is that quirks are indeed a disease or what I like to call them "parasites" that take over their hosts body (vestiges). Its still not clear from WHERE or from WHO they originate from. The translation I did read made it sound like as if they either originate from rats and spread like the plague or its an sexually transmitted disease which could explain why afos/yoichis mother (a prostitute) had it. The only thing that seems strange is that the chapter says she wasnt aware that she was pregnant for 8 months, because she had some kind of memory lose and couldnt remember that it happend. So who knows, maybe its still possible that quirks originate from a failed experiment.

One of the things that actually surprised me is that afo and yoichi are actually TWINS! Its so simple but somehow I never really thought about that possebility, maybe because afo was ALWAYS framed as the older brother (which he still kinda is I guess if he was born first). So baby afo already possessed his quirk since he was in his mothers womb and "stole" her quirk (the reason why the "wart" on her arm vanished). Baby afo holding on baby yoichis arm is both kinda heartbreaking and creepy at the same time. Barely born and he already shows his possessive nature, BUT I want to remind everyone that it makes sense. Afo is selfaware enough that he calls himself a kleptomanic (the urge to steal and possess). This kleptomany is a negative side effect of his quirk controlling him (hence why I call quirks parasites). In other words, he never really had a chance to choose otherwise. This kind of quirk? In this kind of hostile enviroment to grow up alone without a loving parent? Yeah, no wonder dude turned out fucked up!

So the next thing we see is this

Yeah no nice place to grow up for a child and I want to point out the crazy parallel here between small afo and little tenko. Both get rejected by adults that should take care of them. The difference is that small afo sees these man who refuse to give him anything and decide to ignore him as a tread and lashs out at them.

The next we see is baby afo violently sucking at his dead mothers breast.

Its incredible unsettling and creepy to see a baby drawn like this. But I think thats more hori trying to give us the image of a monster baby we shouldnt feel sympathy for which is of course wrong. It makes perfectly sense that a new born hungry baby tries to survive by sucking at his mothers breast. I really dont think baby afo was aware at that point that his mother is dead. The next pictures we see is an toddler afo beating up (killing) some man. We dont know the details why afo attacked these man but we need to remember that the people living in the same enviroment as him are very dangerous and people with quirks were getting killed. Then I also want to point out what we see next.

We see little yoichi LYING ON THE FLOOR, with a BRUSED face and MISSING TOOTHS. Do you get what Im trying to say? Because all of a sudden it makes sense why small afo was beating these guys up, right?!

They hurt his brother!

Afo sees his brother as his possession (surprise surprise) and when someone hurts his possession there needs to be a punishment. Yoichi is of course a little angel and doesnt want people to get hurt. I saw a lot of people freaking out that small afo kicks small yoichi and not gonna lie its very hard to watch. But again I want to point a few things out. Yoichi while justified threw a cane at his brother and tells him to stop to hurt the people who were (most likely) about to hurt THEM first! So the kick is in respons for throwing a cane at him and standing up for a group of adults who most likely wanted to hurt them (or DID hurt yoichi). The kick is brutal from a readers point of view, but we also need to remember that small afo was NEVER teached which part of his behavior is wrong. There was no one who raised him or teached him anything. There was no moral in the world he lived only survival. In his eyes yoichi belongs to him/is a part of him. Yoichi has to do what his brother says because he is the weak one and cant survive without him (afos mindset). We can also see on afos visible ripps that he is malnourished.

A few years later we see yoichi finding the captain hero comics. (It breaks my heart to see how this two children literally have to live in FILTH! At least afo doesnt wear a trash bag anymore....)

We find out that they cant even read properly which makes of course sense since they dont go to school. And not gonna lie that picture in the left of them sitting and reading the comic together is actually quite wholesome 😢

Afo instantly fixiates on the demon lord of the comic! Why? Because the demon lord does the same things as he does (killing people) and the demon lord wants everything for himself. It makes sense why that would intrigue a small child that has NOTHING! If we look at small yoichi and then at small afo, we can see that yoichi looks actually better groomed. Afo wore a trash bag while he already wore proper clothes. Yoichi wore shoes while afo walked barfoot. This shows that, as fucked up afos mind set of seeing yoichi as property is, he took way better care of yoichi then for himself. He gave him the better clothes and shoes to wear, he maybe even made sure that yoichi was never to hungry while he is clearly malnourished. Afo sees yoichi as property.... because he is the only thing he has and so he takes care of him as best as he can. But lets remember he is still a child himself without a moral compass and without the knowledge what is right or wrong.

I saw a few people question why afo turned out so messed up while yoichi didnt. Its actually quite easy. Afo SHIELDED yoichi from the cruelty of the world they had to live in. He feed him, gave him clothes, a place to hide, protected him from danger. And thanks to that shielding yoichi was able to gain a conscience and moral. It also explains why afo feels so entiteld with yoichi. In his mind he does everything for him while there is NO ONE who actually does something for afo in return. Yoichi is to young to do that. All he can do is giving his brother love, but in this kind of cruel world thats not enough to survive. Yoichi has his brother who takes care of him. Afo has nobody. It makes sense why he wants to be like the demon lord who gets everything for himself. Afo wants everything for himself, because he has nothing. And the very tiny bit he does have... he gives to yoichi... because yoichi cant die... because if yoichi dies he TRULY does have nothing anymore.

And now it gets REALLY interesting

3 years later afo comes back and yoichi instantly realizes that his brother was in a fight. He is bleeding, looks tired and his clothes are in shreds. Afo explains that he killed the "glowing baby" (the older one) and stole his quirk (I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!) and has a whole ass rant that he cant understand how this person was able to gather 10 MILLION supporters who love him when in fact that "glowing baby" wasnt even the first quirk user and there were 50 people from india who got quirks before him. In other words afo only killed that "glowing baby" person, because he was fucking JEALOUS that he had so many supporters and people on his side showing love and understanding, while NO ONE was supporting HIM! Think about how afo is obsessed with gaining followers and supporters and HOW does he archive that? By "helping" them and by that forcing them to join his side because they are in his debt.

Afo has no grasp how to gain friends in a selfless way, because he was never teached how! He has no grasp of love and how to love in a selfless way (since his possessivness of his brother). Its not that he cant love or doesnt want to love - he simply has no idea HOW to do it in a healthy and selfless way! He killed the "glowing baby" guy simply just because he was LOVED by people, while he himself isnt and it pissed him off. Afo has no concept of love and doesnt really understand it. The love he feels for his brother is toxic and more possessivness then anything else. He never experienced parental love, never had a friend that loved him. And still what afo wants the most is to be loved. He wants everything for himself and that includes the love of people. Dude has just zero idea how to do that without killing people.

And at least a little dfo crump. Without a doubt we can all agree that afos concept of love is pretty fucked up. Personally I always thought that if dfo is canon then afos affection for inko and izuku would also be portrayed as toxic. Knowing a little bit more of afos backstory now and seeing how obsessed he is for wanting everything for himself including peoples love, makes me wonder how afo and inko could have meet. Maybe its not even because of some conspiracy theory like the inko shimura theory, but something way simpler. Maybe inko showed afo at one point just some kindness and afo with his completly messed up view of love interpreteted her kindness as love and became obsessed with her. So he startet to follow her (stalk her), organized some meetings that were of course completly "coincidentally" (not) and charmed his way into her life.

And at least I also want to say, that afo clearly lied when he said that his last name is shigaraki. The mother didnt had the chance to give her sons any name, so I guess that confirms that "shigaraki" is a fake last name afo gave himself at one point. And the question is also who named him and yoichi? Does he even have a name? Did he give himself one? Was he the one who named yoichi? Because yoichi means "first gift", and I could see afo giving him that kind of name. (And now Im picturing afo introducing himself with the name hisashi to inko, just because in that very moment a truck drove past them with that name on it 🤣).

Okay that was a pretty long post and I still feel like as if I forgot to mention something. But I think that were all my thoughts for now.

I think that last anon was incredibly rude and very, very suspicious. I'm also a fat person, and I think your art is just fine the way it is.

This anon accuses you of having a fat fetish for using peach to shade, doesn't give you the name of the artist they think you're emulating, and then tell you (not asking politely, on your own blog where they are a guest, TELL) you to put body hair on Miku.

Not to mention, why are they recognizing a style from a fat fetish artist if they aren't on the fat fetish side of twitter themselves, enough to have picked up on this supposed artist's style, down to the shading?

Sure, Twitter is wild, you'll see plenty of things you aren't necessarily looking for, but this reads as someone who is trying very hard not to let you see them sweating. What are they doing at the devil's sacrament, pointing out all of the sinners there, tactfully not pointing at themselves as one of the people included amongst the crowd.

If they didn't say "teehee I'm a fat girl btw <33 nasty nasty fetishists <33" at the end, wouldn't you think this message is situationally inappropriate? This is the internet, this person is anonymous, and that means they can lie if they feel like it.

You shouldn't even believe me or care when I say I'm fat, because I too am anonymous, and you simply can't fact check me. Even off anon, I don't share pictures of myself online, because I know better than to trust the internet at large.

If they are not outright malicious

(people will do this when they themselves fetishize fat women for the sake of getting art they think is hot; kind of like people saying "fat women can't be sexy" so fat women will post suggestive pictures of themselves to prove the statement incorrect, especially so they can pick and choose through which images they like. This is Creep Behavior, to use negging to manipulate people into sharing racey pictures)

then they are outright very, very rude, despite their friendly tone. This is YOUR blog, your art is fantastic, and nobody should be coming into your house, telling you how to run things.

Personally, I think the shapes and textures you draw are aesthetically pleasing, and your color choices always go together very nicely, especially when pink and green can clash really bad if you're not careful. Please don't let some misguided person (or worse, a creep) tell you what to do. You've gotten as far as you have on your own just fine, because you're doing your own thing.

Why is it a fetish that Miku is fat? I look an awful lot like her, and it's nice to be represented in art, suggestive or otherwise. Why is this person coming at you like you're a freak pervert that needs to be corrected, when you're just drawing a character?

Why is fat considered inherently unattractive, the only people allowed to enjoy it being (implied) nasty, disgusting, morally deficit fetishists, when "normal" or "skinny" body types are left alone? Why are we treating body fat as morally reprehensible, and not just a thing people sometimes have?

If this person really is fat, they have a lot of internalized fatphobia to let go of, and if they're a fetishist they need to learn better manners.

Summary: A mistake you had made went south, but Kit couldn't stand seeing you in pain..

a/n: im so glad to be getting evan requests again!!

You sat in the common room, relaxing against the couch in the middle of the room. You fidgeted with the skin that was peeling on the side of your finger while you waited for time to pass. The music blasted from the record player, seeing people dance and wander around out of the corner of your eye.

You wouldn't like to admit it, but you've been waiting for Kit Walker to walk through those heavy doors any minute now. You've been here longer than the man, but nothing ever gets easier. The day that Kit had stepped through the doors, you had an immediate liking toward the man. Not just because of how handsome he is, but because you could read his body language and how he clearly was very tense.

Your thoughts were cut off when you heard the big doors creak to your right. Your head shot up to look and see who came in. Your hopes were crushed, though, as you didn't see the brown haired man walk through the space in-between. Your mind raced through different situations of why Kit wasn't here yet. Your thoughts quickly went to the negative solution, but you shut your eyes closed to try and push it away.

Your eyes danced across the large room, trying to look for a familiar face. They stopped once you saw Lana sitting at an empty table, a cigarette between her two fingers and smoke puffing from her parted lips. She made quick eye contact with you, sending a short smile your way. You sent one back before letting your eyes wander again.

Should I go look for him?

Your gut was telling you to, but your mind said no. You knew that if you got caught, you were in for a punishment. But it would be worth it if you were able to find Kit again.

It had already passed the time when they gave out medicine, so you were really getting nervous. You debated your options again, playing this or that. You were no stranger to the canes that Sister Jude had, being here for a little over a year. You were framed for a murder and the cops had quickly believed the man who had made up false claims without listening to anything you had to say.

You stood up from the soft cloth of the couch, being very aware of your surroundings. The guards weren't paying attention to anyone, being too immersed in their own conversations. You opened the door as fast as you could, quickly, but quietly shutting the door once you left.

You knew about the experiments that Dr. Arden had practiced on Kit. He tells you everything that happens to him in the asylum, you being the only person he truly trusts in this hellhole. You had never trusted the Doctor from the start, having bad feeling about him. You were nervous the older man had him.

You silently made your way through the long halls of the building, stopping every now and then to make sure you didn't hear any footsteps near you.

You finally made your way around a corner, looking left to right again and again. You rounded the open door frame of the bakery, but immediately paused once you heard rustling from inside. You were already through the doorway, so there was no backing out now.

Your eyes scattered the room until they landed on a man's back. Your eyes narrowed in on it, focusing in on the light blue button-up shirt and the fading navy blue jeans that wrinkled when he bent over to pick up a cloth that fell from the metal table.

"Kit?" You whispered, your voice quiet, anxiety rising if it wasn't him. The man turned around, fast, and locked eyes with you. A smiled broke out on your face and you quickly walked over to him and wrapped him up in a hug. "I was so worried about you, I thought you were with the doctor or something bad happened to you." You ramble, leaning back to cup his face and move his head around to see if he had any marks or bruises.

Just the one on his lip from earlier.

"Relax, suga'." He chuckled, never taking his arms away from there place around your waist. "I'm alright, just had a slow mornin' and was sent to clean up around here." He explained, eyes flickering between both of yours. You let out a breath of relief, returning his sweet smile. His dimples showed, making your smile wider.

Before you guys could talk or even move, you heard a sound from the doorway. You froze for a second, looking at Kit's eyes which were on the person that had saw you two. You got out of his embrace, moving to stand beside him to see who it was.

A guard stood there, briskly reaching for his belt incase he needed his gun. "What're you two doin' in here alone?" He asks, yelling down the hallway for someone to help him.

Guess you could never be too safe.

There was fast movement in the hallway before you could try and answer his question. The men quickly moved towards you and Kit, one of them grabbing your arms and the other grabbing Kit's. You both protested, but they weren't having any of it.

Next thing you knew, you stood in Sister Jude's office with Kit, your hands restrained together. You went to open your mouth to apologize to Kit, but the door behind you squeaked open. You both turned towards it, watch Jude tut at you both.

"You two can never keep it in your pants." She shakes her head in disgust. "You weren't supposed to be in there, wandering the halls like it's some circus." She pointed at you, then at Kit. "And you should've been doing your job. Too distracted by your lust." You let out a frustrated breath, trying to keep your mouth shut. You looked over at Kit who glared at the blonde woman. "Come on, over the desk. Now."

You obeyed, bending over the wooden desk. You rested your head to your right so you could look towards Kit instead of the woman. He leaned over as well, making eye contact with you. You felt his residence of the whole situation, but you weren't sure what he was thinking at the moment.

"20 each. Ready-" Kit stood up from his position before she could finish.

"Y/N, stand up. Stand up." His hands that were stuck in the cuffs tried to reach out to you. You did what he said, giving him a look of confusion. Your eyebrows furrowed, asking him a silent question. His eyes flickered between you and Sister Jude. "It wasn't her, she didn't do nothin' wrong." He stared Jude down. "I persuaded her to come down to the bakery and help me, that's why she was with me and not in the common room. It's my fault, sista'. Just don't hurt her." He lied, never once looking at you until he was finished. Before you could say anything, Jude looked over at you.

"Is that true, Y/L/N?" She raised her eyebrows. You looked over in Kit's direction, seeing him discreetly nod. You sighed, but nodded at her question. "Okay, well, that's 20 each, so 40 for you." She moved to face Kit again. "And you stay here and watch." She pointed at you.

I think I'd rather get caned than watch him get hurt.

You sat in the common room again, impatiently bouncing your leg up and down as you waited for him to come back. You imagined he needed a little bit of time to try and get used to the pain that he just endured.

Your head shot up when you heard the doors open, watching Kit walk in with his normal outfit on. He scanned the room until he saw you, a soft smile forming on his face. He made his way over towards you, sitting down right next to you, grabbing a cigarette and quickly lighting it. His arm went around the back of the couch, caging you in.

"Why would you do that? Take the fall for me?" You scolded him, lightly slapping his knee that was bent to rest on his other leg. He chuckled slightly, moving his cigarette into his left hand to rest his right on your hand.

"'Cause I hate seeing' you in pain, doll." He took a drag from his stick. "If I can save you from that sufferin', then I will gladly take the chance." He explained, watching your reaction.

Your once-tense shoulders relaxed sightly and your clenched jaw let go. You sighed, resting your body back against the couch, your head leaning against his arm that was still draped there. "I'm sorry, I just get so worried about you." You confess, scratching at the rough fabric of Kit's jeans on his thigh.

He leaned forward to put his cig out, moving back to properly wrap his arm around your shoulder and bring you closer to him. "I know, sweetheart, but I feel the same way about you, that's why I gotta do stuff like that; make sure you don't hurt that cute butt." He was teasing you, making you smile and hit his leg again. He laughed, but squeezed your shoulders. "No, but seriously, doll, I really do care about'cha. I don't think I'd be able to let myself live if I was the reason you got hurt." He kissed your head, rubbing circles with his thumb on your shoulder. You look up at him, noticing how he's already staring at you.

You quickly look around the room, but move back towards Kit as you press your lips against his. He froze for a second, before kissing back with a smile on his face.

As long as he's here, maybe Briarcliff won't be too bad..

Okay alright part 2 ive seen now. I think i can start to scribble down some rambly thoughts. Spoilers for Oceanic Magica against the volcanic witches part 1 and 2.

So this is going in a very different direction than I was expecting. First chapter, I wasn’t a big fan of this whole oceanic and volcanic witches segregation thing. Thought it was quite silly and that it made the witch part of the universe feel less diverse. Now my stupid ass is realizing that’s exactly the point.

So world of ice is currently more of a fantasy political drama. The world of the witches is divided between two parties that already don’t get along well which each other. They try their best to cooperate and make the magic world inhabitable and not destroy their entire system, but as we saw in the court of law in chapter one, it’s difficult. Both sides are screaming at each other during a legal session, can you imagine how their political debates are??

Their legal system is in shambles, as we saw when they tried to prosecute Magica and Grilla. The judges are 2 people, both incredibly biased to their own side, trying to make every session come out in their own favor. Magica literally gets a lighter sentence because she personally knows one of the judges.

The tensions between sea and volcanic witches are pretty high throughout their entire society (it seems they just get out more in court. Kinda like with football in our world), as we see in the second chapter as well. When the 7-2 volcanic witches arrive at Roberta’s (LETS GOOO BTW ROBERTA GOATED why is she so tall though) house and a bunch of sea witches arrive to help her, they immediately grab the chance to insinuate negative assumptions about them. And to make it even more clear, we have our villain proclaiming everything is going according to plan. Like it wasn’t obvious enough.

So let me lay it down ever more obviously. Basically it’s: witch society= two party system that doesn’t work. Bad guy is trying to stir up as much polarization as possible by framing two people from both factions as having committed a terrible crime. Those two people are Magica and Grilla fugitive lovers running away together trying to bring justice to the table and fix society. The whole ice world thing is just a metaphor for problems that we refuse to solve because we’d rather make the other look bad than working together.

So thats the basic gist of it for now. Im especially curious to see how Enna will handle it at the end. Now lets talk about the other fun stuff.

Grilla and Magica are still gay

Some nice character moments that are probably set ups for later (like how magica completely changes character the moment she sees the number one dime. Great scene now that i looked at it again)

Of course it’s not all politics. We also have a lot of great action sequences. And its still a MAGIC society in which this stuff is happening, and its all delightful.

AND ROBERTA KSKSBEKSKSM For some reason Facciotto made her like twice Magica’s height. Look at this.

They used to be the same height now magica has to stand on a stone WHAT DID THEY FEED HER

But I like Roberta she’s a sea witch which eh we’ll see how that turns out. Interesting that she has a whole island for herself. I thought she was more of a traveler. But nothing actually matters except for the fact that shes here and i love her.

Irma is in the magic equivalent of Coral Island. (OR IS SHE??? Oooooohh mysterious who is the figure walkinga round in her house then?) She looks like Juniper from pkna. I guess prison just makes you look younger. I’m gonna sit in a cell for a few weeks and see if my skin has gotten nicer.

The prison looks cool. I wouldn’t mind if it’s gonna be the main setpiece for next week. It honestly looks more interesting than Coral Island already but that could also be recensy bias.

Scrooge is a huge dick which is fun. Feels very Barks. Magica’s line to him: “I’m not a good person, but I would never want to get rich by profiting off a dying world”(very loose translation but thats the general vibe) is great. I’m not expecting anything special with him (he’a just a side character here after all), and you already know when he comes back he will have realized what is right and use what he got for good, but it’s still a nice classic Scrooge thing. It’s at least not DT17 or Rosa Scrooge. I’m sorry I love Gervasio but I’ve just seen too much Rosa Scrooge lately, so this is nice.

Have we talked about Facciotto yet? I feel like I have but I forgot. Doesnt matter because Facciotto deserves all the praise he can get. This is 100% his best work yet. Every single panel looks absolutely stunning. Feels like a completely different art style compared to like 10 years ago. New Facciotto begins here guys.

His designs for the new ocean witches are great too. Character wise i don’t really care that much, same with the volcanic witches. They kind of all blend together except for obvs Grilla.

i debated not answering this because you are being rude and annoying and i dont like this kind of pointless arguing, but let me make this clear:

you are not helping address the problem. acting morally superior and righteous in the same brand of obnoxious is just about as much of "activism" as the "pro-shippers" who do it too. all you are doing is picking fights to get high off the rush of anger and dopamine. you are not "advocating" for anything. you are not addressing any of the problems. you are not fundamentally changing anyone's minds.

you are working on a bland, black and white mentality that ignores the complex reasons behind stuff. just by me saying that you have jumped to "so obviously you like sending people death threats and support it and are no better than the people do that" just like how the people who don't like your weird incest ships think you must obviously be an irl abuser.

all i can see from asks and posts like this is: you dont want things to change. you don't really care about the reasons behind it. you are right and other people are wrong because you don't like them. you like arguing online because you get a rush from it. you are doing this because you like fucking "winning". you dont care if you don't change a single person's mind because you enjoy the moral superiority you imagine you have. which are all the reasons the equally obnoxious people you hate and insist you are nothing like keep arguing with you. it is an endless cycle because you all enjoy the cheap thrill of arguing and bitching online that feeds into our worst impulses as human beings. i know im not one to fucking talk because i've also been known to jump into internet arguments, but i can at least recognize the problem and try to address it.

the thing is ultimately idc what ppl do. u can do whatever u want. nobody can stop u from doing what u want. fictional characters ARE just fictional characters. ur not doing anything illegal aside from technicalities that we can argue abt all day. all of this ultimately IS debating based on ur personal morals n frameworks n none of this tangibly affects reality. there are sliding scales of acceptable for like everything in these discussions etc etc dark media has its place. i dont like that u will get, like, 'anti' spaces for lack of a better word that refuse to have anything troubling in fanwork or leave room for nuance. i think these spaces are very kid-orientated n we as adults need to actually argue w each other not 15yos who just learned the concept of fandom but im getting off topic.

my points onwards are that fiction is ALWAYS grounded in reality in some way - the characters exist for a reason, the story exists for a reason, fanwork exists for a reason. asking urself why you enjoy xyz n how you enjoy it is like a thing everyone should be asking themselves and your feelings from that also exist for a reason. nothing exists out of nothing. my feelings on this subject don't exist out of nothing - your feelings on this subject don't exist out of nothing.

and the second point that hasnt been talked to death is that, okay, yeah, fandom politics do not affect real life. but if they don't matter, if ppl upset dont matter, then why do YOU need them to matter? why is it just vacum sealed fiction when someone complains but when you talk about it, its suddenly important queer media? it clearly matters to you. it clearly has an impact on you. why can't it have an equally negative impact on others as the positive impact it had on you? why does fandom only matter when it helps? besides that something not touching the real world can be true while it very much effecting the niche space you inhabit, which is important in this context.

i respect that ppl get defensive of their interests and the things that bring them comfort, letting go of coping mechanisms or simply happy interests is difficult. i generally dont think ppl on the 'opposite side' are some kind of inhumane monsters. we r all just ppl trying to find something to make ourselves feel better abt our world. what makes you feel safe isn't inherently a good thing tho just bc it makes u fuzzy. this goes for like. everything ever but *post context*. ig my whole point is less ppl have no media literacy but that ppl deliberately have none bc ppl want to stay comfortable in the niches theyve created.

(Disclaimer: this post was written in two parts, the first half was done the day before but not posted cause I didnt feel it was a complete thought, the second half was added after. I did not edit or touch the first half as I like to keep space for the thoughts of myself as they were; i also have passive chronic amnesia so Im not 100% sure if everything is on the same page; regardless that is just context)

Honestly, I think the thing that is important to keep in mind when interacting with syscourse - or specifically for us cause the only one we really care about is the tulpa discourse - is that you are never going to force or change anyone's mind who is so set that they are sitting on tumblr and pulling the dumbest arguments out of their ass to support their claims and I do think those that spend their time arguing with @/sophieinwonderland and @/cambriancrew - while honestly doing the dirty work no one wants to do by balancing out their bullshit posting so mad respect - are largely wasting their time if they do ever think that a mind will be changed.

The only reason to ever engage or talk about the stuff they (and the clique that actually buys into those arguments) talk about is solely to make an example out of how incredibly deep their interalized racism and just disregard for POC goes and honestly looking at them as anything other than a stubborn white person is putting more emotional energy than its worth.

Because genuinely, in a weird way and me doing what XIV calls "The Riku Thing" of looking at a really negative, annoying, and/or harmful thing and finding the bright side silverlining to it, I do kind of appreciate how astonishingly White TM they are because their unapologetic and loud nature makes a really big spectacle for a lot of people who otherwise would not understand how bad certain issues are look and go "what the fuck" and in its own way, it brings good publicity to the issues AAPI and eastern cultures go through in a western and white predominant area.

AAPI issues often go under the radar and are disregarded due to a number of reasons, but honestly? This is the most I've ever seen people actually talk about how white people take advantage of eastern and Asian cultures (relative to the size of the community in question) save for the brief blip of when Stop Asian Hate got loud during COVID where sinophobia blasted up and a bit surrounding Cyberpunk as a genre when Cyberpunk 2077 came out.

In that regard, I'm kinda glad they are so loudly racist and White TM about AAPI cultures. It makes for good publicity and awareness by being the example of just the Usual Bullshit and it starts better conversations. I'd honestly prefer a loud bigot to a quiet insidious one cause the loud ones at least can serve part of a message and be ignored.

Anyhow, this is all just to say that bigots will be bigots and you can argue with them all you want and call them truthful statements like "bigots" and "racist" but thats about all you can do to really control their behavior. Those balancing out their bullshit arguments, mad props - I could never cause that shit is too toxic and too much of an investment, but it is respectable work. (insert "it aint much but its honest work" meme at yall)

That said, I'll just say it as the fact that it is, those two and those that follow their rhetoric do not care at all about AAPI individuals and are just racist. We don't have to debate it and it's honestly not up for debate and while we could put our energy to trying to tear down their following and make them shut up, in a world where the KKK still exists and thrives, its an unlikely and futile of a goal to try ti achieve.

Instead its best imo to treat them like the public case study of white and western abuses to AAPI culture, particularly since time and time again they redisplay some of the most classic and frequently used techniques white and western individuals do to try to excuse their shit.

If you wouldn't give a person arguing with any other loud and proud bigot, its best to just accept that bigots be bigots and rather than banging your head against a wall, put it up for display on the museum wall as a means of education and awareness.

Theres no point in talking to bigots about how they are bigotted. There is, however, a point to displaying it for those less effected and usually not given the opportunity to sed it in full get a much closer look at some of the shit we deal with

I like to think that while a lot of white and western people suck, that a lot of them genuinely are trying their best with the limited awareness, access, and understanding that they have.

I dont feel as though I would be correct calling them and bigots a "small minority", but I'd like to think they aren't the majority and I honestly appreciate those willing to learn and better understand and so ya know? Whats a better way to explain it than with a live dancing monkey that loudly and proudly displays the behaviors in question for all to see.

Anyhow, I digress. Take this as you will. I am just throwing some insight and personal thoughts about specific users in hopes that some people who might be overly stressed about it might find a little more peace moderating the topic

Is a straight actor playing a queer character queer baiting?

Quick summary for those who dont wanna read allat: No, I do not think it is queer baiting for a straight actor to play queer characters.

If you do want to read allat, please proceed.

Queer Baiting is a method used to attract queer audiences with the suggestion or implication of LGBTAQ+ relationships/ characters, while de facto, no LGBTAQ+ relationships and/or characters were featured or mentioned at all.

There is another phenomenon in the media industry called "queer catching", similar to queer baiting but instead when the queer audience catches on to the bait, the creators of the show will make a minor side character queer and usually only mention it once in an interview, leaving it ambiguous to the audience.

Both of these cause harm towards the LGBTAQ+ community, as explained by Dr. Hill, "Queerbaiting can also influence and perpetuate the stigma surrounding the LGBTQ+ community, as it prevents society as a whole from seeing "LGBTQ people as just normal, everyday folks operating in a culture where they can live happy, healthy, normal lives out in the open."

Now onto the main point of this "rant": Is queer baiting queer baiting if the actor playing the queer character is straight?

After some extensive research on the topic, I have concluded that, no. A straight actor playing a queer character is not queer baiting. However, casting a straight actor to play a queer character can limit the ability to accurately represent LGBTAQ+ people in the media. Despite this, we as a community shouldnt bash the actor, but rather the producers behind the show, because at the end of the day, the responsibilty of queer inaccuracy in the show falls with the producers. Plus, there have shows with accuratetly portrayed and like able queer characters played by straight actors, Cate Blanchet, Colin Firth, and Jake Gyllenhaal are examples of this. I do think there are more deeper issues within this discussion, including; the purposeful exclusion of queer actors, negative depictions of queer relationships and characters, and, as usual, patriarchal, conservative, and right wing beliefs infecting and limiting the ability to show queer characters in the media (e.g., Hays Code).

When discussing queer baiting in media, The Heart stopper situation is almost always (inevitably) involved, so let's talk about it.

Kit Conner played Nick Nelson, a bisexual character in the show Heartstopper. One of the main purposes of the show was to depict Nick's journey to discovering who he is with his boyfriend, Charlie Spring. After the show was released, the discussion of Kit's sexuality was immediately up to debate. This debate quickly propelled into Kit coming out as bisexual on twitter to avoid more controversy. Obviously this is an extremely fucked up thing to do, especially with the fact the Conner is only 20 as of today. Forcing a young adult into coming out because you dislike the idea of straight actors playing good queer characters is extremely counterintuitive and hypocritical. I also think this because one of the only reasons this debate sparked attention was because of stereotypes and assumptions common within the bisexual community. I feel like this also contributes to bisexual erasure-rooted in biphobia-. Not only that, I feel like creating a strict system in which queer people can only play queer actors does more harm than good. It limits the ability for queer people to be casted for characters that aren't gay but have deeper meaning behind them, not to say queer characters don't have a message deeper than just their sexuality. Do not twist my words. Im saying subjecting aspiring queer actors to only one specific type of character based on their sexuality is requisite of this same arbitrary stigma-that queer people are only good at playing queer characters-. Although I understand why people are uncomfortable with straight actors playing popular queer characters and why people are often quick to speculate on the actors actual sexuality, we need to realize that the way people identify sexually and romantically, is none of your business. That same thing applies to anything within the LGBTAQ+ Community. If you think otherwise, you are a homophobic, good for nothing piece of shit with no fundamental understanding of privacy, and human etiquette.

A last thought I have on this topic is how the term "queer baiting" has been misinterpreted and incorrectly defined over the years to describe hetero actors playing queer characters. Not only is it incredibly hurtful towards these actors but also towards the LGBTAQ+ Community...

hey. i think i get what you mean but lmk if i didnt— i think im the type of person that ricochets between extremes in order to understand myself, the world, what balance means for me,,,, and then when i find the 'truth', or where that extreme has led me, i have a level of understanding about either me or the world that i can hone, either as an ideal to understand or one i can live up to/aspire to. — so there have been times where im in the kind of haze you described. over analysing, over thinking, isolating myself, getting deep into rabbit holes or theories about why what is what. but then i also swing to the other side of the pendulum and have times where im completely in my body, in my feelings, and in response to the world. im not over thinking, although im still hyper vigilant & it feels like im processing the world on drugs. its just in that moment, the need to understand, analyse and chew over the information on my own isnt there yet. something allows me to register everything in a more intuitive way? to where the 'buzz of thinking' still exists but its an energy i can ride rather than one thats stifling me or causing me to over question, over think, & ultimately doubt myself.

there are benefits and disadvantages to both ways of being. sometimes it feels good 'taking things lightly' and feeling unbound and i feel more social because of it. other times it feels good being alone so i can really process the world in the depth i want to without interruption or a need to discuss/debate what i feel. other times solitude and analysis feels overbearing, and the clarity feels stifling. theres all the concepts but they have nowhere to exist out of your head. their just a glass cage youve made for yourself & it can be lonely. that compared to the rush of action and freedom i feel in my 'non disciplined state' is horrible. buttt at my heart i am a serious person. i do like to consider and process and understand. so when i am in a more carefree space, i might have the freedom and the energy to express myself, but the energy is hard to harness or channel to anything thats not purely hedonistic or running off of the same impulsive energy as me. the key / balance here would be for me to channel the momentum of my energy in those moments toward goals/aims set when i am in the analytical, precise, clear space.

and so yeah the reason i explained it in such a drawn out way is that both the extremes help me understand and then actualise the middle ground thats right for me. unless a persons too uptight they may never have the reason / face the kind of discomfort that makes them understand the necessity of being happy go lucky. and if your never happy go lucky you may never understand the necessity of seriousness, or learn that there is a difference between being carefree, and being lackadaisical. vice versa. every experience especially the negative ones show and teach us things either about ourselves, what we need to keep doing, or change, to be where we want to be. deeper than that, sometimes your learning things, seeing things that you arent meant to understand now. they go in your rolodex/subconscious and pop out to save your life/tip you off to something when you least expect it.

dont let anxiety, over analysis, or anything rob you of your life, but trust your brain, trust body and trust your heart to be true mirrors for you. know that they are showing you and telling you things about your reality & that nothing shown is ever wasted. trust in ur journey bb. 🌟
