I felt like doing a little illustration of Keiki because I had an idea for her outfit and I had a sketch I made of her a little while ago and wanted to use it since I'm kinda stuck on the border of being artblocked but having ideas at the same time ehhh it's werid moving on. I didn't add her little handkerchief thing on her head mainly because I couldn't figure out how to draw it right. This also served as some fun experimentation with my new style, the hair is personally my favourite pat of the drawing, along with the clothes. I just kinda gave up on making a background because I was tired lol. I wanna make a few more little sketches of keiki with the handkerchief in my hair since I think that's a really key part of her design and the only reason I'm unable to get that to look right is because of a ✨🎀 𝒮𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝐼𝓈𝓈𝓊𝑒🎀✨ (TM) on my part so yeah lol. I've probably been looking at this for too long anyway so, I should probably take a break from looking at this lol.
I imagine this outfit to kind of be what she would wear in a more formal setting, like, this is the one dress that she hasn't gotten dirty from crafting and stuff and she also has little earrings inspired by Kofun era jewelry. The outfit and bows are also kofun era inspired.

On a Genshin Poll from a while ago, you said that you could talk about Xinyan way more and it would be nice hear those thoughts! Xinyan is one of favorite Genshin characters (her design is so cool) so if you don't mind talking about her more, I'd love to hear it!
oh i didnt mean xinyan specifically in general i like talking about design (critiquing.nitpicking.praising.etc) so it really extends to most any of the characters. but you asked about xinyan so ill talk about xinyan. design wise shes very nice to look at for. her colors are all so warm with one of my favorite palettes (black/red/white). shes on the simple side compared to alot of other characters and i think its nice makes her alot easier to draw. pretty easy design to remember. for me anyway (big sleeves/braids.big collar. big hair.spikes) i dont really need to give specific reasons tbh her design is just really good. one of the pyro characters ever
#and shes brown always a huge plus for me 👍🏾 id be willing to say shes black coded whether that was intentional or not idk but the way they#did her thats how it came off. brown girl pioneering rock music yeah. along with other things but thats the big one#her designs just really solid its not too crowded and you can tell what shes supposed to be for the most part. u can tell shes punk at the#very least you may not entirely get rockstar without the guitar but she does have the drum#which makes noise as she runs. i love the sound design regarding the characters accessories i thought that was so cool when i first started#playing. i love xinyan alot wish she got more screen time#and wish the time she did get was alongside characters i liked better everything hoyo does is to spite me#sorry game opinions leaking in#most of the reason i like xinyans design really boils down to her being brown and rocker/punk ill always eat that up#asks#anon#oo also fun lil detail i think ppl miss w xinyan is that her eyebrows have lil slits in them some official art leaves it out too#i think it gives her character ^^#mhy

#my test subjects if you will#& yet i am still obsessed w them after all these years#idk i just think it’s kinda special bc it’s like we grew up together almost?#the first iteration of kel & co were honestly very wacky. like the deviant art era of my oc making if you know what i mean#but they’ve changed & grown a lot over the years & that’s kinda fun!! they’re very dear to me tbh#sometimes i read through old notes for them & i’m just like. man what was i thinking#i could honestly write an entire essay on all of the scrapped lore for these guys. the kel & co multiverse is Very extensive lol#the original three the story was about were bow kel & a lil ghost i named tragedy (i was 12 lol)#her real name is isobel. she’s not in canon anymore but she IS in monster boyz. i put a lot of the old characters in mbz.#dhes wasn’t in the original story at first either. he was a character i made for an rp lmao#but once that ended i decided i loved him so much & had to put him in my main project#he has changed the most from his original design tbh. personality wise i mean#he went from very minor side character to the literal focus of the story#he’s essentially the main narrator. even more so than kel#idk. i was just randomly thinking about them & how long it’s been.#gives me feelings when i think about it all lol#i did not sleep last night at all btw#rainyrambles

(at least dream would be given those idk about night yet)#anyways last bit of info is that the sun earrings she's wearing were given just like the star (and the crescent for night)#as gifts early on in their lives- she's not wearing it because i think she'd give it to night to hold onto#seeing how she could drop and loose/break them in one of her crazy games with other villagers#that's all i have to say (that i remember xd) for now! thank you all so much for the support<333

WE WERE ROBBED!!! It's not perfect, and it still has some "limited range of color values" issues, but with a couple more revisions I think the one on the bottom right really could've turned into something special
#honkai impact#honkai hare#I'm noticing a trend with honkai that idk how to describe other than “elysiaction”#Where they take they take what was appealing about Elysia in ER and apply it to characters but remove the nuance#Like they take her energic charm and charismatic mask and then they forget that there actually needs to be something behind the mask#Idk if that makes sense#Bottom right Hare looks like she would've been a much more stoic character and I think that would've been a nice change of pace#I think the reason I'm so annoyed with Hare's current direction in both writing and design is because I think she had such strong potential#There's so many character interactions they could've made and didn't#You could've explored Seigfried and Theresa's reactions to seeing their lost loved one coming back from the dead and not knowing them#Or Durandal and Hare bonding over knowing who they used to be while knowing they can't really be the same person anymore#Or if you really want to keep the back story with Bronya's mom#Hare could've just switched sides because Project Stigma threaded the life of her loved one's child#They also could've used Hare as a demonstration of what Project Stigma actually does#But nah- they decided to take the most interesting parts of Senti and Elysia and mash them together without the context and intrigue#Making her boring

Kei: That they accept me.

Kei: Eiji, don't you remember how I used to drive you to school when you were younger?
Eiko: I do have a license and my own car, but I don't really drive. I'd prefer my partner to do that.

Kei: I like milkshakes, especially strawberry ones. I have a lot of nice childhood memories associated with them, haha.

Kei: My favorite one is when our dad's friend taught me how to take photos with my new camera and he told me to go and take a picture of anything I want. I took a picture of a dead butterfly lying on the ground. He said that I'm very creative and that I have a bright future ahead of me.
Eiko: I remember going shopping with my dad when I was little and he told me that I can have anything I want. I told him that I want to see him smile. He almost cried after that for some reason.
Q.006. Have you ever tried learning a foreign language?
Kei: I can speak English fluently, I mean, our dad is half-American and I've also spent a lot of time overseas. I tried to learn some other languages too, like French and Spanish, but I gave up. I'm not even that good at reading and writing kanji, so..
Eiko: I can speak English and a little bit of Korean, but mostly because I listen to a lot of music in those languages, haha.
Q.007. State the meaning of your name.
Kei: I think it's supposed to mean "gemstone"? Mom said that she named me that because she thought I was so beautiful, she wanted me to have a name that would have a meaning just as beautiful as me.
Eiko: I think it's something like.. "an excellent child"? Haha, my parents must've had a lot of expectations for me.
Q.008. What do you think about your siblings?
Kei: I love you, Eiji, even if you can be really mean sometimes.
Eiko: My little brother is very nice. He does have his quirks, but I think they make him cuter.
Q.009. What are lies to you?
Kei: Something that is necessary to have a fun life!
Eiko: Something that is forgivable only if it's done to save someone. I still won't forgive anyone who lies to me though.
Q.010. What are your parents' occupations?
Kei: Dad's a movie director and mom's a toymaker! Both of them are so creative! There's just something about our family that makes all of us so artistic.. You too, Eiji. Dad always praised you for being so reliable.
Eiko: I don't know actually. And I don't really care. Well, as long as they continue to buy me gifts and help me with money if anything happens, I'm fine.
