20 Questions for Fic Writers (& Artists)
AN: I wasn't tagged, but I saw this and just had to do it!
1. How many works do you have on ao3(Tumblr)?
44 works on ao3
51 works on Tumblr
2. What's your total ao3 (Tumblr) word count?
570,835 words on ao3
84,623 words on Tumblr
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Honestly, whatever I'm into at the time (but I have a tendency to bounce around a lot) so I'll just list off a few of my favs to write for:
Call of Duty: MW2
Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse
Teen Wolf
Stranger Things
Supernatural
The Walking Dead
4.What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
What Is Meant To Be (Always Finds A Way) | Geraskier | 2,687 kudos
Tell Me Every Terrible Thing You've Done (And Let Me Love You Anyways) | Montgomery Gator & Gregory [Gen] | 2,359 kudos
The Goal Isn't To Live Forever (It's To Create Something That Will) | Winterberg | 1,897 kudos
Sometimes Peace Come From Painful Things | Winterberg | 1,143 kudos
I Just Wanna Hunt You, Hunter | KiriBaku | 1,025 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I don't always respond to comments and I usually leave that to my co-writer (and partner in crime) Tibby since we both collaborate on most of the fics I post and they're more comfortable with responding to comments. But if it's a solo fic, then I work through my anxiety and respond to anyone who's kind enough to leave a comment because I genuinely love getting feedback and seeing people enjoy my work really inspires me to keep writing!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uhhh... That's gotta be my newer oneshot, Free Fall. It's a SoapGhost fic and a rewrite of the ending of MW3 (Yeah, you know the scene).
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I've got a few (cause I'm a sucker for a happy ending) but the one I'm gonna go with has to be The Goal Isn't To Live Forever (It's To Create Something That Will). It's a part of the list above and it's currently one of my only completed, multi-chaptered fics.
8. Do you get hate on any fics (Art)?
Unfortunately, yeah. But mostly on my smut pieces (especially the ones that include a trans character).
Though I also remember recently getting a particularly rude comment accusing me of using chat ai to write my Geraskier fic, even though it was first published it way back in 2020, before chat ai was even a thing that people used.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yup. I usually stick to my comfort zone and write M/M stuff.
Though, in my longer fics, the smut isn't really the main focal point so I keep it pretty tame.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Oh boy. My co-author has actually got me hooked on a crazy rare pair to the point where we wrote a whole fic for it (and are working on the second in the series). It's a Daryl Dixon/Dean Winchester pairing set in the TWD universe.
A close second would be my Among Us x KiriBaku AU.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope, thank god.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yup! Someone reached out to me and asked to translate my FNaF: SB fic into Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Sure have, but only with one other person.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Omg, no! I have to pick!?
Well, if forced with a gun to my head, I supposed I'd have to say Rinch (John Reese x Harold Finch from the TV series Person of Interest). I love the show and the characters and the story and the world building. It's just a pairing that I will always keep coming back to no matter how many other ships/fandoms I fall into.
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
My KiriBaku x Among Us crossover fic. The main page, where I had planned out the entire fic, was accidentally deleted and I don't know if I'll ever recover from that since I'd have to rehash the entire rest of the story from scratch if I decided to one day come back to it.
However, that being said, I'm still holding out hope that I'll randomly get a burst of motivation for the story. Who knows.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'd say my strengths are writing angst, witty banter, and transition paragraphs (since my co-author often gets stuck going on tangents and writing really detailed scenes so they often ask for me to make a segue in order to get us to the next plot point, which works out for everyone).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
My weakness is definitely in-depth, detailed scenes, hands down. It's kinda embarrassing, but my writing can sometimes lack the descriptive, engaging language necessary to make the story/situation/characters interesting (especially when it's decidedly not a writing day) and it often reads like boring exposition.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I am not fluent in anything other than English, but that doesn't exactly stop me from (relying heavily on google) and using other languages in my fics, especially if the character that I'm writing for prefers another language. Take Miguel O'Hara for example, who is canonically bilingual.
The same kind of goes for accents too. I try my best to emulate how it the words would sound while speaking it while writing dialogue. Take for example my SoapGhost fics, where both characters have a thick, distinct accent.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Unofficially (as in never posted): Vampire Diaries.
First fandom I posted to Wattpad (yikes) when I was like twelve: BBC Sherlock
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Jeez, another difficult question. Um... I'm gonna go with What Is Meant To Be (Always Finds A Way), for several reasons.
It was the very first fic that I posted to my ao3 account.
It was the first multi-chaptered fic that I'd ever completed.
I managed to finish and post the final chapter on the day of my birthday (which was a pleasant surprise).
I love it so much that my co-writer and I are actually currently in the midst of lovingly revisiting/revising the entire fic to make it even better!

That was fun! Now for the tagging!

20 Questions for Writers
i was tagged by cousin @radioactive-earthshine
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
175 published works! I do not count any WIPs, outlines, notes scratched longhand, or random shitposts I make on the tunglr because that's another 1700+ 😂😂😂
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
According to my stats page.... 1,218,398. So 1.2 million+ words published since maybe 2010. Everything prior to 2010 was deleted because I was super embarrassed of what I used to write 😭
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I follow my heart so my AO3 is basically my fixation chart in real-time. Way too many specific fandoms to count, but in terms of medium: I write for a lot of manga fandoms, used to write kpop fanfiction as a kid, still write kdrama fanfiction whenever something catches my eye, and of course comic books and wrestling. I also have a handful of fanfics for books.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Shadow Dance (Captain America/Avengers movies) Sometimes Love Starts in the Bed [Or that One Week Kamui Tried His Parents' Approach at Romance] (Gintama manga) To the Rhythm of His Love (Black Clover manga) Tere Liye, Hum Hain Jiye (Black Clover manga) Red Bangles, Black Anklets (Naruto manga)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I love responding to comments!! It makes me feel special lmao 😂
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ephemeral (Hunter x Hunter manga). I basically wrote the ending for the Dark Continent arc (since it's unlikely it'll ever get finished), and sank the boat and all its passengers while making my OTP end up together in heaven after they both died 😂😂😂
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Leoht Unfæger (Beyond Evil kdrama). Basically wrote a novella repairing my ship's relationship that the kdrama had done serious damage to. They got married in the end even though one half went to jail for contributing to the other half's sister's demise. Oh, and the same guy who went to jail also used to bang the sister 😂😂😂
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Regularly! I'm pretty vocal about my likes and dislikes, and many times, by behavior has invited demons into me house. During my Black Clover fandumbing days, a crackhead used to make it their mission to leave hateful comments on my fics. I don't delete them however. Most of the time it makes me laugh bc you can figure out the speech patterns and tag exactly who it is that wrote it. I like to think ten years down the line, they'll look back on their clownery and let the shame eat them alive.
9. Do you write smut?
Yes!
10. Do you write crossovers?
It depends! During my kpoppie days, I did a crossover of my favorite band and one of my favorite kdramas, and never finished it (even though I have the ending outlined on paper). It really depends on the fandoms and if I find synergy between them.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Probably lol, but not that I know of. I grew up during the asianfanfics days, and used to post fanfiction on other sites before I got an AO3 account. It was not uncommon to see fanfiction stolen from LJ and other sites that were then posted to asianfanfics, which had a notorious plagiarism issue.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I have three in circulation in the Russian language, and one that was translated into Chinese!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Nope, unless RPing during the third grade on Naruto forums counts as collaborating on fanfic 😂😂😂
14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
It changes every day bc I am dynamic and go with me heart. But also note, for some of my favorite ships, I've either never written fanfiction for, or it's no longer available cuz I done deleted it, so I'll just note my CURRENT haunts (which may or may not be decades old... sad 😂).
Comic books: Jon Kent/Jay Nakamura, Bart Allen/Kon El
Manga: Asta/Liebe, Jack the Ripper/Yami Sukehiro
Who knows what I will like tomorrow.... I certainly don't 🤪
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a Smallville Earth 2 post-canon fic outline I've had sitting in my drafts for over ten years....... Inshallah one of these days, but I sincerely doubt it 😂😂😂
16. What’s your writing strengths?
Building dread, purple prosing, and writing the saddest sadz before giving folks the happy ending. I'm also a slowburn maestro. Love horror, but usually end up writing more romance than plain horror LOL 👽
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
I be overthinking shit, or I be outlining something and saying I'm finna write it but then I don't because I end up getting distracted by something else. I have a Prison Playbook kdrama fic outline that's nineteen pages long that I will never write out bc I got distracted by ANOTHER kdrama. I have OCD but that shit apparently has no impact on my publication goals 😭
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Love it! I'm fluent in multiple languages, so I love peppering in different languages in my fanfics, and regularly borrow from Hindi and Arabic language songs, poems, and other media to title fics. Maybe 30% of my fanfiction is inspired by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan songs. It do be like that sometimes djhfgdfgdf
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I genuinely don't remember anymore, it has been SO long. All I DO know is that I deleted it all because I was an embarrassed baby and really wish I hadn't. It can be anything between the following fandoms: Yugioh, X-Men comics, Bleach, Smallville, some variant of old teen movies, etc. I seriously don't remember which one, but ONE of them. lol.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
All of them. I bleed words. I be rereading my own fanfiction like they're the hottest novels on the stands. I try to read other fanfiction when the mood strikes, but I myself am my target audience, so I be writing things that I know I'm gonna reread years down the line. For example, my HxH fanfics are still my favorite fanfics from the fandom cuz nobody else was writing Hisoka/true!form!Bisky, and few people were dedicated to Melody/Kurapika. I'm a narcissist 👽👽👽

Writing Year in Review - 2023
I have to say, 2023 was an odd year for me.
I finally made it to TFCon again (after taking a long hiatus during the pandemic), and it was absolutely lovely to see everyone. I got to meet some new folks face-to-face, and meet up again with people I'd met in 2019. Spouse came with me this time, and he had a pretty good time (despite only being a TF fan via osmosis).
We did no other travel, though. Part of that was because we got a new cat, so we're back to needing to make kenneling arrangements before going anywhere. And as much of a joy as our cat is, that has made travel a little more inconvenient.
I had some major disruptions at work this year, completely upending the end of my summer and start of fall. As a direct result of this, the coming year is going to be extremely challenging work-wise as I get caught up on some things. Hopefully by late summer 2024, the pressure will be off and I can relax again (back into my usual level of work-related stress).
I also had my first round of Covid in 2023, which absolutely sucked. F minus, not recommended. I came very close to going to the ER during the worst of it, and the aftermath continued to kick my ass for months. The fatigue and brain fog was real, but the other health issues that it produced are still with me. Thank god for vaccines; I don't know how things might have gone if I hadn't been vaccinated.
In the coming year, I am going to try to focus on being kind to myself, both mentally and physically. Part of that is going to include the expectations I'm setting for myself for writing.
In December, I wrote 5,500 words, most of it in the story I've started posting, A Matter of Propriety. The story is still being posted (and I need to finish writing it!!) and I'm hoping to keep up my once-a-week posting schedule. If I can't make good progress on the next chapter this week, I'll probably drop into an every-other-week schedule instead, just so I can maintain my chapter buffer. (The story will likely have eight chapters total.)
For the year, in 2023 I wrote 62,502 words. Most of that was on A Matter of Propriety and Again and Again and Again (my TF Big Bang fic). However, I only posted 24,184 words to AO3, split between 4 completed works. (A Matter of Propriety will finish in 2024, so its stats will eventually count for that year.)
Most months I didn't set a specific word count goal, and that's ok. But possibly as a result, my output was all over the map. The two major peaks are in April (when I did the bulk of my Big Bang fic writing), and July (when I got a smutty fic idea and banged (hah) it out really quick).
Tumblr media
Like always, my average words per hour is pretty consistent, although not as much as in previous years. Still, it shows that when I do sit down and write, I get consistent work done.
Tumblr media
As I mentioned, I didn't make specific writing goals most months, but when I did, I never reached them. That tells me I am setting my goals too high, and I need to be more realistic.
Tumblr media
As for the goals I set for myself for 2023, I did pretty awful. 😅 Again, I think I was just setting expectations too high for myself.
Finish Sun and Moon (working title) Nope. I barely worked on it at all.
Finish one Sparkr story (any of my bunnies or WIPs!) In progress? Call this 50%.
Write two comic scripts for practice Nope.
Make more progress in IDW2 reviews Nope, 0% progress made.
Finish The King and the Bounty Hunter Barely worked on this, either, so no.
Rewrite/repost stories that I took down. Call this 50% done.
When chatting about this with a friend last night, I realized that THREE of my goals were basically "finish this longfic." Considering how much brainpower longfics take, it's no wonder I failed. So as part of my "be kind to myself" vision statement 😅 I'm going to focus on do-able goals, with one "stretch" longfic goal.
Write two comic scripts for practice
Finish reposting taken-down fics
Write and post three one-shots
Start posting Sun and Moon (working title)
My rationale for these is: I really want to practice scriptwriting. I really want to finish getting those old fics back up in a better format. I LOVE the instant quick gratification of getting a short story written and posted. And the stretch goal is to start posting Sun and Moon. If I'm starting to post it, that means I am confident about finishing it. ✨
Behind the cut is the first sentence of each of the stories I posted (sans the reposted fics, since those were all backdated to their original posting dates), and the month it was posted in. I wish everyone a happy and safe 2024!
August. Sharing is Caring. "That's it… There you go." The words were whispered into Bluestreak's audial.
August. Plans in Plans. The tiny dot in the distance grew in size as it approached, until Megatron's optics were able to resolve it into the shape of a Seeker.
September. Again and Again and Again. Create log file.
November. A Nice Set of Wheels. "So who is this guy, again?" Mirage asked, slipping between a box truck and a van.
December. A Matter of Propriety. Orion picked up his comm pad for approximately the thousandth time since being shown to his table, and checked it for messages.

263
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
2,692,775 and growing
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mainly I write for Killer and Healer but I've written for S.C.I., The Devil Judge, CSI: Miami, Chimera, History 3: Trapped, Master Wait a Moment, Psych-Hunter, The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Under the Skin, Criminologist Himura and Mystery Writer Arisugawa, Guardian, The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity, The Untamed and Beyond Evil
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Wait, We're Married?! (1,465)
Succulents and an Overprotective Kang Yohan (1,185)
Kang Yohan's Relaxing Day Off (806)
Protect You (791)
Kim Gaon Is Mine (726)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always. I always like to thank people for reading my fics and also discuss/answer their questions
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
None of my fics have angsty endings...even my angstiest one Soul Bound has a happy ending cuz fuck unhappy endings
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, not really. I've gotten a couple of rude comments before but I usually just delete those because I don't have time to deal with that kind of bullshit. If you didn't like the story, there's always the back button
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No. It makes me uncomfortable so I don't
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I do. I've done a really big one with History 3: Trapped, Guardian, and S.C.I. in like 2020 and some of the other crossovers I've done is S.C.I. x Under the Skin, S.C.I. x Killer and Healer, S.C.I. x Guardian, and S.C.I. x The Yin-Yang Master
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yeah, back when I was writing The Untamed Moments someone had taken it, posted it to Wattpad, and translated it to spanish. A reader told me about it and I got it taken down. No one steals a fic from me and gets away with it
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yup! My fic So This Is What Love Feels Like was translated to Vietnamese by Shu_Miw over on ao3.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
A long time ago but I don't really like co-writing fics. I'll brainstorm/bounce ideas off of other people, but I won't co-write with anyone
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Yuezhi. While I love all my ships, I can confidently say that these two own my fucking heart
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I'll finish it eventually but right now it feels like 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer just because of the amount of work I'm putting into it. I knew it was a daunting task when I started it and I don't regret it but still...I'm much further behind than I would like
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and describing crime scenes. Dialogue because I've been told that I can get into my character's heads and everything I write sounds like stuff they would say. As for crime scenes, my forensic science background really helps with that
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing fight scenes. Fuck me, writing fight scene fucking suck. I can see how the scene is suppose to go in my head but to translate it into words and put it on paper is a whole nother ball game
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I only use words in other sentences that I'm confident in using. Mainly curse words. I will maybe use a sentence or two here or there but I make sure they go through a proper translator first so that it makes sense
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Either Dragonball or Black Butler over on Deviantart. I think. It's been so long
20. Favorite fic you've written?
I love all my fics. But so far I'd have to say 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer just because of the amount of work I've put into it. It's probably going to be my greatest achievement as a writer once I'm finished with it

👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about? ✨ Choose three adjectives to complement your own writing.⏰ Do you spend more time reading fic, writing fic, or do you do both equally?
👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about?
Well, I don't have the very first stories I wrote on a computer anymore because they died when the old family desktop did, but I have brought all my files along with me ever since I got my own laptop for college, so let's go have a peek in my oldest folders...
From Star Wars:
Ooh look, here's Baby Tathrin's Very Mature And Not-At-All Mary-Sue-ish Lengthy Backstory Novel for Rhysati Ynr, who deserved so much more character development and screentime than Rogue Squadron gave her and I'll do it myself if I have to, dammit, fic... Yeah, I still think Rhys deserved more story-time, but I'm definitely never going back to that fic because I'm not thirteen anymore XD
Bounty Hunter's Winter, which was supposed to be a young-Boba-Fett-grudgingly-teams-up-with-Sheltay-Retrac-in-Clone-Wars/Purge-Era and then timeskips to juxtapose with an-experienced-Boba-Fett-grudgingly-teams-up-with-a-young-Winter-in-Rebellion-Era fic that basically just existed to show How Fucking Competent all three of them were. There's nothing wrong with this one, it's just not got enough framework/point to be interesting going back to now.
Padmé Jedi Prequels is the working-title for a what-if? re-writing of the Prequel Trilogy where Padmé, you guessed it, was a Jedi too. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon still get sent to deal with the Trade Federation over Naboo, but Obi-Wan has been recently Knighted and Padmé is Qui-Gon's new Padawan. I do like what I have written for this one, but it would be a LOT of work to write the rest of it (basically: everything between "landing on Tatooine" and "the ending scenes w/ the Purge"), and the canon has changed sooooo much since I started working on it that I'd either have to re-work a lot of details or just throw my hands up and go "this is pre-Clone Wars tv show continuity reconstructed from memory, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!" and know that everyone, including me, is going to be so fucking confused lmao.
From Lord of the Rings:
Okay I'm so glad you asked this question mainly for this answer, because I had completely forgotten I ever did this, but: apparently back when I was in college, I started writing a story where a portion of the Fellowship along with Elrond's kids, Faramir, Éowyn, and Éomer were all re-embodied (in the case of the mortals and Arwen) or sent from Aman (in the case of the elf, half-elves, and dwarf) to go deal with some Terrible New Threat by...pretending to be Normal Modern Humans Undercover In College, I guess??? The only things I ever wrote for it were the intro, an "everybody tries to figure out how modern clothing works in a big department store and it's a Disaster, thank goodness they have Éowyn there to wrangle everyone" scene, a snippet of Legolas and Gimli being Very Good At Acting Like Humans on a balcony and annoying Aragorn, and Legolas nearly having a stroke when a bartender serves Gimli and not him, because "he's clearly old enough, but you look way too young; sorry kid try again when you have a better fake ID."
I've also got an ancient Three Hunters get pulled into the Star Wars universe post-War of the Rings when Artoo and Threepio's escape pod lands in Gondor instead of Tatooine story that I can't imagine I'll ever touch again, but does admittedly have some amusing (if very painfully Old Writing) bits written for it, so that was nice to look at (and wince over) again.
Also there's this, of course.
From the X-Men Comics:
A fanfic about a New Excalibur Team being formed that actually has (if I do say so myself, and I will) an excellent beginning, but which I failed to write-down the Actual Planned Plot of, and now I can no longer remember wtf I was going to do with the damn story, so it's probably never going to get any further since that's uhhh. kind of an important part of Writing A Story lmao.
One where Illyana gets shunted back to Mythical Camelot somehow when she dies during Inferno, irritates/distresses Merlin, befriends both Guienevere and Mordred, annoys Morgan le Fay, learns some advanced magic, and eventually has to help destroy Mordred to save everyone else; only then does she find her way back to the present, and comes back to life several years after her younger self has died of the Legacy Virus to be re-united with Kitty and the New Mutants. Given that in the (many) years since I started that fic, Illyana already has been resurrected it's uhhh. kind of a moot point of a story now lol.
Also there's surely some half-started Potter stories sitting around here that idk if I'll ever feel the urge to touch again (Green-Eyed Snake included). Maybe the burst of celebration I'll feel the day she just self-combusts from all that hate and finally just fucking dies will be inspiring...
✨ Choose three adjectives to complement your own writing.
Detailed, plausible, and most especially verbose ;)
⏰ Do you spend more time reading fic, writing fic, or do you do both equally?
Writing, definitely; although I've read a lot more fic in the past few months than I'd read for years, and I'm enjoying it mightily (navigating on AO3 is sooooooooooo much better than trying to slog through FFnet and livejournal and geocities omgggggg I can actually find good stories now, what is this witchcraft???).

WIP Wednesday
So, last week we had a run-down of all the WIPs I have, which I've already started posting on Ao3, both works and series. So today, I figure I can talk a bit about the WIPs I haven't started posting yet.
I believe I've talked about How Fragile We Are before. It's a one-shot, set between season 2 and 3 of Shadowhunters, in a world where Alec didn't go talk to Magnus at that victory-party and they're not back together yet. Things are... not great, for Alec. It's over-all a pretty heavy story, which is why it's still sitting in my WIP folder despite being almost done.
(It's All Gonna Be) Magnificent is based on a prompt posted in the Malec discord server, about Alec playing the piano. So far, I've got most of the beginning down, and something like an epilogue. So I'm just missing... everything in between... I might end up making it a series similar to the Parabatai Dream Sharing one, with one sort of main story, introducing the concept, and then a bunch of smaller fics where I just kinda explore how it fits into canon, or changes it.
Then I've got two fics that don't have actual titles yet, but which are temporarily referred to as Downworlder Dad Magnus, and the companion piece, Downworlder Dad Alec. Both of them are more notes than anything, but are likely gonna be 5+1 fics of like. 5 times Magnus was Dad to a Downworlder, and one time Alec witnessed it. Or similar. Haven't quite decided it yet.
I've got a fic currently just called Age, which is short for Alec's Complicated Relationship With Age, set the night of the Family Dinner at Hunters Moon, when Alec gets drunk and accidentally goes back to Magnus' loft instead of the Institute (and everything with the Owl happens... later. or not at all. idk) and Malec have a talk about why Alec is having such an issue with The Box and all that.
Uhm... I think there are more, actually (at least one which so far only lives in my head), but these are sort of the biggest ones, and also this has gotten kinda long.
Also! I'm considering starting another weekly thing, where I'll post a link to and a teaser for one of my existing fics once a week (i currently have 40-something works on Ao3 and there are 52 weeks in a year, so it would take a while to get through). I'd like it to be on Fridays, but I would also like to have a cool name for it, but the only things I can think of are the classic, Throwback Thursday, or Self-rec Saturday. Idk. I'll figure something out at some point.

what's the biggest change you've made in your WIP since you started it?
ok so the biggest change i've made in my WIP since i started it has got to be this gojo! reader fic i'm writing right now lol
i initially intended it to write it with reader and dazai already being in an established relationship but i wanted to add a little slow burn in the beginning, so i made reader and dazai not being in a relationship yet
i also wanted to expand on reader's feelings / thoughts on dazai being the only one who could make them vulnerable or touchable because of how no longer human nullifies abilities, as well as the fact dazai just looooves physical touch very much
shoutout to the user who gave me three ideas to work, but just a lil' heads up slash spoilers, i chose to combine public transpo and slow dancing instead of just choosing just one. thank you for requesting <3
RAIN !
have you ever made yourself cry with your own writing? if so, what was it?
yes i've made myself cry with my own writings before !! there's quite a bunch, but i'll special mention some that really hit me hard like i got ran over by a truck or sumn
scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader learning dazai's past
scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader putting an end to itadori yuuji who had already eaten all of sukuna's fingers
when adoptive dad! gojo satoru doesn't want scarlet witch! baby fushiguro! reader anymore
WATER !
how did you start writing?
tbh, i first started writing when i got introduced to the world of wattpad
my best friend was really into it back when we were still in elementary and she got me into those "adopted by" esque fics, and that's how i started 💀 i ATE those up
and from writing "adopted by" esque fics, i eventually started writing for creepypasta, undertale—YES I HAD "THAT" PHASE 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️
i also wrote for the dream smp, which was enjoyable and fun, but despite the sky-high reads and votes i was getting for my numerous published fics—it was just absolutely toxic :( everyday was just drama, like someone getting cancelled or someone was doxxing this certain content creator. and the comments i was receiving was being too much for me too, so i quitted wattpad and moved into a new platform.
i first wrote for hunter x hunter and one punch man when i joined tumblr, but because of the hiatus for hunter x hunter and me dropping one punch man, i went into a 2-3 hiatus before coming back here to write for jujutsu kaisen, and eventually tokyo revengers and bungou stray dogs !
i had long journey when it came to writing—i can't even exaggerate the ups and downs i have experienced. the fandoms i've started and dropped, the criticisms i received (both harsh and good), as well as my grammar.
but yeah, that's how i started writing and i'm glad how far i've come
plus, i'm really happy right here and now in this blog because not only am i enjoying writing, but i also got lots of supportive and kind people here in my blog with me, may it be my moots or non-moots <3 !

If you're still taking the AO3 wrapped questions, how about 3, 15, 17, 18, and 29?
yes thank you 💗!
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
I did answer but because I wrote so much I'll share another!
The Haunting at Hoffman Lodge - I'm really proud of this one because for so long I've wanted to write a ghost hunters au fic for Rhea, Felix and the others and I really only got one shots out. It's not finished but I am really happy for what I did write and hope I can get back it in the future!
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
I did answer but I have so many wips lol, The Haunting at Hoffman's Lodge (ghost hunter au), Bound by Twin Moons (witch/werewolf au), my one smut fic that I need to write a second chapter for! I also have a plan to write a canon divergence au for Rogue One. Let's see if I can actually finish one of them lol
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
Another one I really enjoyed was Jyn Erso. She is such an intriguing character for me and I really enjoyed learning about her in Rogue One, but I still want to know more so getting the chance to write her was a blast, even though the story was very bittersweet.
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
Duke Crocker. That man is charming, funny, witty, quick on his feet and I am not any of that lol I had to listen to him talk a lot to try and get in his head and figure out how he would respond when interacting with Paige. But I did it though and it was a lot of fun.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
I am very proud of this passage from my fic, Treasure at Sea. Felix and Max have been captured by Captain Hawthorne (Rhea) and this is one of their interactions:
“You two seem like a feisty pair,” Captain Hawthorne chuckled, stopping in front of them again. “Maybe I’ll get my answer from one of you men.” She reached up with her rapier and removed the cloth from Max’s mouth, then moving to Felix. The rapier was cold against Felix’s skin, but a moment later it was gone and so was the cloth. “So, tell me boy,” Captain Hawthorne asked, her braid dangling between them as she leaned forward to place the rapier under Felix’s chin, lifting it up so he was looking at her. “Why were you on a ship that attacked me?” Felix was speechless. Her voice was like music and in that instant, he knew he was in love, there was nothing else to it. Everything about this was like those stories he heard from men in the pub, the grand adventures they went on. He stared up at her, mouth agape as she asked again, what were they doing there.

2022 in fics
So I will do my favorite lists also here not just on other social media sites (well if you can call the Hungarian "GoodReads" a social media site...)
But because I don't think I'm gonna finish any more fics this year, I wanna look back on my own writing, and yes! List them! Because I wrote them and I am still hecking proud that while battling with a serious medical condition (and my mom's cancer diagnosis) I still managed to write.
Super cool, I’m proud of these
So the first category is the fics that I’m proud of and I think they did very well:
Wishing You'd Be Mine (Spider-Man Video Games) Miles/Peter, written for the small fandom big bang, this is the fic I am the proudest of because I just showed myself I can finish something long. Also helped me a lot to learn to edit and hone my skills. Apart from the adventure I had with my non-artist here, this fic has a special place in my heart, being my first foray into the fandom, with the most niche ship ever, I never hoped for the warm reception it got!
Yeah, this year this is my only big achievement, but I'm okay with it.
But wait, there’s more…
Pretty decent
Next up are fics that I really like and had some reader interaction:
2. someone I can't live without (Spider-Man Video Games) Miles/Peter, written for the Domaystic event, was a challenge to get myself back to writing after spending so much time in hospitals. It's basically a drabble sequence and pure fluff.
You know what? These are pretty niche
They didn’t get a lot of traction but I still love them, and I had to realize at this point that I’m mostly writing the rarest of rare pairs. (Which is no surprise, of course...)
3. Love is Yellow (Life is Strange: True Colors) Alex/Ryan/Steph, this ship just ate my brain when I finished the game, and I really wanted to see everyone together, hence this fluff piece. Tried to write more for them, but honestly, I just got into so many ships, I'm not sure I'll finish any other WIPs for them. Which is a shame.
4. Take My Heart (Horizon: Zero Dawn/Forbidden West) Aloy/Alva, written for the HC exchange, I found my people who ship Aloy/Alva!
5. Curse of Night (Hades Game) Hypnos/Zagreus, written for the Goreswap exchange, the hardest thing I've ever written. The recip had so many good prompts and I have like a dozen WIPs started, but nothing got into real horror territory, apart from this. I know it's niche due to the body horror but 🤷‍♀️
6. Focal Point (Plague Tale) Lucas/Amicia, look I was the gal who shipped Amicia with EVERYONE in Innocence, and to this day I can't even process I got a gift where all my ships lived happily ever after. I was very meh going into the game because the reviews said that the old gang (meaning Lucas and Beatrice) is switched out, and I wanted my Lumicia content if I couldn't have Mélie back. And the game fed me so well, I finally managed to finish a Plague Tale fic. There are more coming, right now I have two WIPs, but real life will decide how I'll progress.
Why don’t you love me?
These fics are not bad but somehow they got crickets.
7. I'm lost and it kills me (Spider-Man Video Games) Miles/Peter, written for a HC prompt, I know it might be too niche, but I still love it.
8. Fear Is for the Weak (Hades Game) Achilles & Zagreus, written for a drabble exchange. It's gen, it's a drabble, I'm not shocked it didn't get any readership.
9. can we say that we love each other (Spider-Man Video Games) Felicia/MJ, written for the AU exchange, you see I can write something else than Peter/Miles, but it's femslash, so... I still love this ship, and I might write something else for them.
10. Keeping the Faith (Frostpunk) gen, written for a drabble exchange.
The absolute flop
Okay, not to rag on my writing. I love these too, but let's face it, they are beyond niche or just short. 🤷‍♀️
11. Stay With You (Life is Strange: True Colors) Alex/Ryan, written for a drabble exchange, it's a sweet short fluff.
12. Come Back and Haunt Me (Marvel's Midnight Suns) Fem!Hunter/Peter, what can I say? The FIRST fic in the fandom. I binged the game, and honestly, I would just read all the happy poly fix-it fics for it. But because it's a long game, and a niche one at that, I don't think it'll have such a big fic presence. So I took matters into my own hand and wrote this half fix-it. I still think I will write an epic long fix-it where everyone lives happily ever after, even if no one reads it.
I mean all in all it was a good year, a dozen fics! Short, long, and everything in between! But the most fun thing is: I'VE ONLY WRITTEN FOR VIDEO GAMES THIS YEAR! Hell yeah!

WIP Whenever
Tumblr media
Hello dears, how are you?
I finally have a bit of time to do catch up with WIP Wednesday. I've been MIA for a couple of weeks and I'm still close to losing my mind due to the tight schedule I'm operating under at the moment. But: I somehow found a tiny bit of time to write and I have something new to share. How's that?
A lot of love to @noire-pandora, @midnightprelude (2x), @starsandskies, @faerieavalon, @cartadwarfwithaheartofgold, @juliafied and @luzial for tagging me over the last two weeks for so. Thanks for thinking of me. It means more to me than you know. Please consider yourself tagged for next WIP Wednesday.
Also forwarding a few tags to @johaeryslavellan, @serial-chillr, @solas-disapproves, @musetta3, @ellie-effie and anyone else who likes to join.
After putting off revising the next chapter for "The Rebel's Ascension", I finally found the self-discipline to examine what was wrong with said chapter and create an action plan to tackle it. I was planing on keep as much of the old text as possible but soon found that it was just easier to rewrite entire sections. So the vibe is still the same, but the actual writing will be all-new.
To honor this major rewrite, the chapter will get a new title as well: "Down in the Deep". Here's an excerpt since I don't want to give away too much. Spoilers and all.
The morning gave way to a darkened day. Solas looked up to the sky where thin layers of clouds all but obscured the sun and thought of the black dragon he’d seen two days before. After he had found the Black Dread’s trail and Andruil’s hunters, he had lost sight of the creature. Maybe it had lost his trace or had flown back home, deeming this hunt unworthy of its time, although he doubted it. Most likely, the dragon had made camp somewhere to the north and waited for its moment to strike. In any case, Solas was grateful that he was rid of the creature for now. However it was – one of the Evanuris or merely one of the Divine coming to their aid – he would deal with it later.
‘This way,’ the wolf said and brought Solas’s attention back to the here and now.
This chapter will be 90% description which makes it a hell of a challenge to write for me. Usually, I break up the chapter with dialogue to improve the pacing but that's not an option this time. Ah, well...
For the readers of the fic, would you like a short recap at the beginning of the chapter when I post? It's been a while and I've been jumping around timelines a lot in the previous chapters so I felt like it might be necessary. Please let me know.
Have an awesome week. I'll be chipping away at the mountain of freelance projects piling up on my desk and hope I can preserve my sanity. Got to admit, working on the fic again was *so* good after being away so many weeks. I miss writing so damn much sometimes!
Until next time. Stay safe!

2. What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
I write for the Call of Duty and Dishonored fandoms! I would probably say Dishonored is my favorite between them, but I don't write as much for it (of the fics I currently have published, only the Call of Honor series is related to Dishonored in any way; I used to have another Dishonored fic up, but I orphaned it because it was bad and features a ship that edges on NOTP territory for me now).
4. What is your favourite genre to write for?
I don't even know what "traditional" genre is my favorite to write for, so I'm gonna go fandom genres and say crossovers and AUs. I love taking characters out of their respective universes and seeing how similar/different they would be if I put them in a different set of circumstances—like, what if Havelock had turned to piracy instead of starting the Loyalist Conspiracy (like in my planned fic Lorelei)? What if none of the COD characters were in the military, and one of them was a serial killer (like in Apoptosis)?
5. If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
The Plagued Capital wins by default since I haven't actually written a lot of my planned longfics yet (beyond the first chapter of Apoptosis), but I suspect it would still win even if I had made more progress on my other WIPs. I've been working on Call of Honor since high school, it's near and dear to my heart and is essentially a love letter to my two biggest special interests.
16. How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
Since no WIP was specified, I'll just talk about all my longfics! ouo;;
Call of Honor actually started as an RP between me and one of my partners, who introduced me to Call of Duty. Eventually the RP fizzled out, and I decided to turn it into a fic. It's come a long way since the little handwritten RP folder my partner and I would pass back and forth during class.
Apoptosis came about because I'd entered a Call of Duty fanfic contest, and wanted to write an AU. I settled on a murder mystery/thriller, and actually became very attached to it. I think I placed either first or second in that contest, I don't really remember, but it was a fun exercise and I want to continue Apoptosis once I get the chance.
Venator was inspired by a Vocaloid song I listened to (specifically, Vampire's pathoS ∞ by Hitoshizuku-P and Yama△). I was like "wait a minute...what if...Price, but he's a vampire hunter who's also a vampire?" Then the story/setting of Venator took a screeching left turn into urban cyberpunk fantasy that has nothing to do with the plot of the song I got inspiration from.
I got inspiration for No Roses from Drac's lovely fic (and one of my favorite fics of all time), Not Look Well in Black. The fic focuses on Treavor Pendleton's life story, from childhood until (presumably) his death. I thought it would be interesting to write a similar fic (though in my own style and format) about Admiral Havelock and his life story, consolidating all of my headcanons about him from early life until the end of his life.
I don't actually remember where I got the idea for Lorelei—I think I just wanted an excuse to explore a different outcome and write something dark.
And Immram, my seafaring Iron Age AU fic, I got the idea from by playing Hellblade and listening to a lot of Heilung, and also seeing art and writing about selkies and wondering how I could fit a Havelock/Moira AU into that.

Writing Update - March 2023
March is over?! I don't know why I keep getting surprised by the inevitable march of time, but I do. A symptom of getting older, I suppose.
While my output in February was miserable, March was a bit better. I didn't quite hit that mythical 10k mark that I used to reach on a regular basis, but I came a lot closer. In March I wrote 8,174 words, most of it on one fic. More on that in a minute.
In my update last month I was happy that I decided not to do the TF Big Bang this year, mostly due to lack of spoons. But mid-month I got a new toy, and with that new toy came a new story idea. I played with the toy a bit. The story grew in my head. And now I've got almost 6k written on that story.
(sigh) I still don't know if I'm going to do the Big Bang. I have about a week to decide whether to sign up. I'm thinking that the more I can get done on the story now, the less I'll have to do after the signups are over. The target for writers this year is 15,000 words; if I can at least get within striking distance of finishing the story before my last chance to back out, I might just stick it out and do the Big Bang.
We'll see!
Anyway, as a result my writing was split between a few of my WIPs (I now have six active WIPs, three of which I worked on in March.) My muse was also playing with the idea of a very silly PWP that goes in the Praxian Trine series... I don't know that I'm actually going to write it, though. In any event, I'd be happy to just finish something.
Posted
Fault Lines. 1100 words. A reposted story; it was backdated to its original posting date so it didn't appear on the "front page."
WIPs
These are the stories I actually put words down for this month.
Potential BB fic. 5900 words. (It has a working title but because BB, it's secret!) We'll see if this takes off or if I shelve it to work on later.
The King and the Bounty Hunter. 10,500 words. Poked at this one a bit.
Sun and Moon (working title). 44,800. This is what I was working on until the BB fic took my attention.

Supernatural Fanfiction Rec
So I haven't really read any new supernatural fanfiction since I think about 2016, so most of these are pretty old and aren't really up to date with canon, but I still think that they are really good.
It's All in the Details
By: Colleen
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7002492/1/It-s-All-in-the-Details
Summary: When Dean goes to sell his soul at the crossroads to bring Sam back, someone else steps in to negotiate the deal. Cas did get a sign and it sent him off into the past to change things. AU from "The Man Who Would Be King" and "All Hell Breaks Loose."
My Comments: This is a WIP and it hasn't been updated since May of 2016, so it is abandoned, but I still think that this is worth your time. The basic premise of this is Castiel from the season 6 episode “The Man Who Would Be King” travels back to the end of season two. So it is a rewrite of season 3 and 4. But it still is mainly original work and I promise that you will love it. This is probably the best Supernatural fanfiction I've ever read, and that's saying something. I can promise you that it will not be a waste of your time. Somebody uploaded this work on AO3, which I will link down below, however it was originally posted on ff.net, which is linked above. You do need an account to access the AO3 link, just so you know.

Hail Mary
By: GalaxySoup
http://archiveofourown.org/chapters/2036435
Summary: Take one newly human ex-angel on the run from Heaven. Combine with one mysteriously resurrected and increasingly pissed off Mary Winchester. Add overtones of the Apocalypse. Shake well.
My Comments: God, do I love this fic! This fic was written during season 9, and goes AU right after Cain is introduced, so there is no Demon!Dean in this fic!! Also this was written before Mary got brought back on the show, so GalaxySoup’s Mary is very different from the Mary in the show. The thing I love most about this fic is how it shows Mary’s relationship with all the characters. Also I love the amount of detail GalaxySoup put into this fic. She builds up these themes that were very interesting and I honestly wish had happened in the show. Anyway I highly recommend giving this one a read!!! You do need an AO3 account to read this fic.

Building Dean Van Halen
By: CaffeineKitty
https://archiveofourown.org/works/1015000
Summary: John recognizes Dean from a man he met in 1973
My Comments: This fic is basically based off of the episode "In the Beginning" (Season 4; Episode 3). A really good short fic. I have to say that after reading this season 1 makes a lot more sense (mainly why John left). It's a good read. This fic is cross-posted on ff.net, so I'll link that down below.

Fraternity Series (4 Parts)
By: Fiachra Ochiem
https://archiveofourown.org/series/2453464
Summary (for Jump in the Fire): John Winchester is hunting a witch (at least a witch is his best lead so far) in Missouri while his boys are on spring break. When he gets into trouble, a new hunter comes to help, a man he's never met before with floppy hair and familiar eyes.
My Comments: This is a really good series! They are set somewhere near the end of season 8 (you'll find out how). You really only need to know about the trials to read this fic. It's a really good read, and I like how it kind of gives a background on some things in the show. I love who John thinks "Seth" is at the end of this series. This series is cross-posted on ff.net, so I'll link them down below.

Familiar Faces
By: Sg2009
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5850739/1/Familiar-Faces
Summary: John and Mary live only to hunt evil after losing their sons to the fire. When they enlist a runaway to play bait for a monster, they discover that things aren't always what they seem.
My Comments: This is an AU fic, but it's surprisingly good. I think that this fic really captures both John and Mary's personalities perfectly. I promise you that this fic won't waste your time.
Status: Complete
Length: 56,989 words
Crap Job
By: SciFiNutTX
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/3470242/1/Crap-Job
Summary: What happens when Sam & Dean stop in for supplies at a convenience store and find themselves in the middle of a robbery.
My Comments: It's a nice short read. It is from an OC POV, but I think that SciFi pulls it off really well. I also particularly like the backstory Sci added to Sam's money clip shown in Tall Tale.
Status: One Shot
Length: 3,692 words
Dies Felices
By: Jedi Sapphire
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7025249/2/Dies-Felices
Summary: Gabriel has a proposition: on November 2nd, 1983, Sam dies instead of Mary. Sam goes straight up to Heaven, bypassing a miserable life and the horror of the Cage. His family has relative peace. Sam says no. If only it were that simple.
My Comments: It's a good fic. I particularly like the background info on spirits and salt. The only thing I would've liked to know more about Dave. I loved Gabriel, and was heartbroken when he died, so I always love Gabriel fics. Not to mention the amulet, as well. Really good fic, I can guarantee that you'll enjoy it.

Before Your Time Has Run Astray
By: DollarForMyName
https://archiveofourown.org/works/490414
Summary: The Winchesters are a jacked-up brand of retarded, and Adam passionately hopes he never becomes one.
My Comments: This fic is hilarious. I've always loved fics about Adam, and let me tell you that this one you will definitely love. I love how it shows the relationship between Sam and Adam, and also further explores Sam and Dean's relationship as well. Not to mention that Adam is just frickin hysterical as well. If you are looking for something that will make you laugh I definitely recommend this fic!! This fic is cross-posted on both ff.net and LiveJournal, so I'll link both down below.

Back to Infinite
By: Toneskis
https://toneskis.livejournal.com/4599.html
Summary: Revenge isn't always aimed at those who deserve it.
My Comments: So this is a really good time travel fanfiction. It's a bit heartbreaking, but still really well written. The demons in this fic is an interesting concept. I think that this fic was written back in either season two or season three so it doesn’t really match up to canon. But the two things I really like about these fics are Bobby and John. I really like how it shows their relationship. I promise you will enjoy this one.

Look Back in Anger
By: Vailkagami
http://archiveofourown.org/works/268671/chapters/422905
Summary: When John Winchester is possessed by the yellow-eyed demon and asks his son to kill him, Sam does so and disappears, leaving his injured brother behind in a hospital. As a result of the demon's early death, deals are never made, and a lot of bad things never happen --- but Dean doesn't know that. All he knows is that Sam killed his father and abandoned him.
My Comments: The original summary was longer, but I thought that this worked better. This is a really good time travel fic. It's set both in season 6 and the end of season 1. It's from Dean's POV which is interesting. I highly recommend this fic.

Face to Face With the Skies
By: Quiddative
http://archiveofourown.org/works/587057
Summary: Castiel was not killed by Raphael on the night of Lucifer's release. Instead, he's sent to the year 1996 and encounters the Winchesters. Unable to return to the present, Castiel resigns himself to traveling with them on their hunts across the states. Meanwhile, in the year 2008, Dean has barely gotten used to being back in the land of the living when he gets the biggest shock of his life; the man he fell in love with when he was 18 has seemingly come back from the grave as well, claiming to be an angel of the Lord. The thing is, he doesn't have a clue who Dean is.
My Comments: This fic is actually the first Destiel fic that I ever read, and god is it a good one. I found this fic when looking for time travel fanfictions. I really love how it shows past Dean, and current Dean and the differences and similarities between both of them and how Cas fell in love with each of them. I highly recommend giving this fic a read! I promise that you’ll love it!!!
