With today’s dynamic pricing on US tickets and a lot of my dash (once again) blaming ticketmaster and only ticketmaster, I’m fascinated about how Harry gets out of (for lack of better words) having any responsibility for it. I understand it’s part of fandom/standom to somewhat idolize and therefore only see good in the one you follow but there’s no chance Harry isn’t aware that his ticket prices are inflated according to demand. Ticketmaster can sell it to artists as a technique to avoid resale/scalpers but at the end of the day it basically makes ticketmaster and the artist the scalper. Artists cannot be unaware that they’re scalping their fans.
Also, now that 5 more shows have been added to both LA and NYC, I’m curious to see if people will stay on the Harry is overworked (unless he’s coming close to me then it’s fine) train or if some will come to understand that a lot of the decision making is purely economics. I have nothing but sympathy for those whose economic and/or geographical situation or whatever other situation accessibility-wise limits them in seeing Harry as they wish. That joy should be afforded and attainable to all and nobody deserves it more than anyone else, but it really isn’t personal that he isn’t doing all the things everywhere. Harry is an artist, but putting on shows is business first.
Dynamic pricing fucking sucks. It sucks even more to use dynamic pricing when you haven't released all the tickets. It's not supply and demand, it's creating artificial scarcity.
I haven't bought Harry tickets yet, because I'm not prepared to pay what they cost (I'd consider paying what they're charging for really good seats, but there are no really good seats at this venue, and I don't want to do floor). If I can pick up a bad seat cheap closer to the time I will.
I think the most useful things fans can do is turn the rage on Harry not ticketmaster and also not feed into the frenzy and the idea that if people don't buy them now they won't be able to go.
I do think the 15 date residencies should make the dynamics more clear, but who knows if they actually will.
I just wanna say bc I KNOW you're somewhere on tumblr, to the teenage girl who attended Take Your Kid To Work Day at an office building in Ontario, Canada circa 2013 and had a conversation with a middle aged woman in which you showed her your Black Veil Brides fanart and fanfics and ship content and told her about different fanfic tropes including a/b/o verse bc she happened to know who Panic! at The Disco and Fallout Boy were and thus you felt the need to show her your bandblr ship art, that was my fucking mother and I had to clarify all that to her including looking my mother in the eye and trying to explain a/b/o verse without sounding like a lunatic.
It's been 10 years and I still regularly sent evil energies in your direction. Since you'd be probably two years younger than me and thus legally an adult now, please know if this post reaches you it's on sight.
the thing that i love so much about my relationship is that i feel absolutely zero pressure for us to be in eachother's pockets constantly. not just in the way that we like to have our own space sometimes but that i don't feel guilty for getting fixated on a project and not texting him or leaving him on read for a few hours. we have a system where i just say "i'm so sorry, i fell down the Art Hole again" and he says "that's ok, was the art hole fun, can i see what you did in there?". or if i have a feeling i'm going to draw until late at night i'll be like "pre warning, i might be in the art hole this evening" and when i'm done he's texted me goodnight anyway.
tldr: find someone who doesn't get mad at you for crawling into a hole and instead helps you out of the hole and asks what you saw down there
Wyll reciting fairy tales he knows by heart to the children in Reithwin, and making up new endings each time they revisit to see if they catch him and were paying attention.
Wyll entertaining the tiefling kiddos with big, showy tales of castles and monsters and dragons and knights, all with nameless heros so the children can put themselves in the adventure.
Wyll having whole stanzas of poetry memorized that he can recite at any time, and often does under breath as he walks or swings his rapier in rhythm to keep time (he doesn't count his waltz, he *speaks* it)
Wyll dropping his favourite quotes from plays in casual conversation (and making some up completely on the spot, but they're so dead on you wouldn't be able to tell).
Wyll who could have been a poet, a playwright, a storyteller. Who *is* all of these things, even if it's not at the forefront of his being.
I don't think Senshi would play Cooking Mama. He would think it's a great game for the kids to have but it wouldn't appeal to him like the real thing. He wouldn't play any actual cooking sims, either. He would play Tetris and Candy Crush.
