hai!!! could I req a naegi x togami noncon 1shot pls? 🍬
Yes!! Sorry it took a while! It's a bit longer than what I'd consider a oneshot but hopefully that's okay:) Thank you for the request! Nom om🍬
Note: Since there wasn't a specific role assigned to each I'm gonna write the obvious, being top Byakuya and bottom Makoto. Also I'm going to refer to them by their first names since I'm used to writing them that way. Also I'm gonna be using she/her pronouns for Chihiro since this is taken place before the class trial. Not really important but thought I'd add that.
Content Warning⚠️: Non-con, rape, sexual assault.

Makoto was in the girls locker room, investigating the 2nd case of the killing game. As he was examining for any more clues aside from the obvious, the rope that was holding her up caught his eyes. Right before he could get a closer look at it, he felt a hand at his shoulder. He jumped with a squeal and he turned around to see who it was. "Oh.. it's just you.." Makoto greets with a shiver.
"But of course.. the presence of someone like me should always cause surprise from a commoner such as yourself.." the Ultimate Affluent Progeny chuckles with his arms crossed, seemingly amused with Makoto's reaction, "Do you have a second Makoto? I am in need of assistance in this investigation and you seem to be.. reliable for the time being.."
Wow Makoto thought. His friend asked him for help and called him useful somehow in the most rudest way, only Byakuya could hold. He brushed his rudeness aside, it wouldn't have been the first time so why should it matter. "Oh.. do you need my help with something?" He asks, tilting his head, curious about his inquiry.
"Since the last investigation, I've taken notice of your knowledge in paving the way to lead to Syakya's murderer.. feel free to embarace in my specialty.." he says with an arrogant smile plastered in his face. "Please meet me in the Archive in the Library on the second floor. Time is limited on my hands."
Makoto looked at him with a surprised yet offended face. He second that last thought he just had. Was this really the best he could honestly do? Yeah he's rich and all but there hasn't been an instance where he couldn't boast about for his own ego. In all honesty, Makoto probably needed Byakuya more than Byakuya needed him. He already would appreciate the company, but he was always admittedly forceful about the whole thing.
Makoto walked up the stairs to the second floor. He made his way to the double doors and pushes them open. He looked around the dark and moody room and saw the tall blonde. "Oh hey.. why couldn't we walk together?" Makoto asks looking up at him. An audible chuckle was heard from the heir. "You're so small Makoto.. how short are you?" He asks. The boys eyelids drop halfway, he couldn't argue he was right, every time he needed to talk to him he had to directly look up at him, it was almost a workout talking to the man, as if it wasn't already a whole chore to begin with.
"I'm only 5'3.." he says looking down at his hands, playing with his fingers. Even though he was always annoyed with Byakuya's heartless antics, this was till better than having to investigate the lifeless corpse of his friend. "Only? Hmph.. you humor me Makoto," he snickers, "I suppose this is why I can tolerate your existence.." He was met with another look from his smaller classmate.
"Thanks.. Byakuya.." he says gritting his teeth and a face that could only be described as about to throw a table with a cinnamon roll cute face. Maybe that was why the blonde wasn't at all intimidated by him. That or Byakuya just liked to see his face every time he took a shot at him.
"Now then.. let us proceed in the Archive, I believe there will be useful information that could be useful to this case." He says opening the door and waking in before Makoto. The brunette follows in and was greeted with a dusty and even more moodier room than the library.
"Woah! There's so many more books here," Makoto announces surprised, ".. are those files over there?" He asks pointing to the box containing folders with special stamps and reflective material embedded on each folder.
"Go ahead and take a look around.. there's a lot of interesting stuff in here.. most of this room is dedicated to classified documents and important articles not meant for the general public," Byakuya informs the smaller boy whole looking around at some other files at his side of the room, "I would exercise some caution if I were a peasant.. this is a quick way to make some enemies by simply peeking at those.." Byakuya warns, flipping through some books and skimming through the spines of the books on the shelves.
"W-what?! Really?! But how was Monokuma able to get all these files?! Is he apart of the government?!" Makoto asks in a panic, closing one of the flies he was just about to read. "Heh.. I wondered the same thing.. I suppose whoever is in control of that little bear has some connections.. I have a room like this back at home.. much bigger than this.. well kept too.." he brags, having an audible arrogant smile kept in his voice.
"Huh?! Look I know you're rich and all but I don't think they just hand those out to anyone with some money.." Makoto says, reading through the spines on the books, not exactly sure what he's looking for but simply doing what the heir had commanded him to do.
Another giggle was heard Byakuya once again. "Oh Makoto.. you know nothing of many things.. I should promote you to my personal jester.. I haven't had a laugh quite like this in a while.." Makoto heard a couple of footsteps get louder in his direction. "What are you reading Makoto?" He whispers, hovering over the brunette. "Huh?" He asks and turns around, or he tried to.
The tall blonde wrapped one hand around his waist, holding him tight and the other over his mouth. "Shush now.. you'll make my stomach hurt.." he huffs in Makoto's ear. He then pushes down Makoto to the floor and pins him down with one hand, restricting most of his movement. Makoto heart was beating quickly, panicking and wondering what had caused his Byakuya's whole demeanor to flip. He fiddles with Makoto's zipper and pulls down his pants, bit without a struggle since the brunette started moving his hips up and down, trying to stop the creep from getting into his pants. He palms Makoto, trying to stimulate him to 'prep' him for what's to come next, getting a whimper from poor Makoto.
"Oh Makoto... are you even trying to escape? You're not even screaming.. but don't even think of trying anything either you peasant.." he says in a husky voice, teasing his member under the thin fabric. He trickles his fingers over the stretchy fabric of Makoto's boxers. His erection grows bit by bit, feeling his teasing. Makoto hated this feeling. He felt so violated and wanted out but he didn't know why he was silent, his throat felt like it was being closed off by some force, he might as well be suffocating in place right now.
When he could finally get the stamina to try to move and kick around, Byakuya's hands were already creeping inside his boxers, rubbing at the special member he wanted. And then Makoto's shaft out, it was hard and he was already dripping with his natural lubricant. He then felt the blonde's hand begin to pump him. As much as Makoto wanted out he couldn't help but whimper. He was scared of his so called friend now that he was assaulting him and he believed all those arrogant comments he made about not crossing paths with him, the consequences sounded real to him and not just empty threats now that he was in such a helpless position.
After a few seconds of torture and heaven, Makoto felt soft lips around his tip. He began to whimper more and tears began to fall down his cheeks. Byakuya looked up at the boy and groaned, feeling a little bad, he knew Makoto was Innocent looking on the outside, but he also knew he must've had some sort of other side to him hiding behind that clean demoner. He was quickly taken out of his mental gymnastics when he felt Makoto's body go limp right after just vibrating, resisting to give up until he inevitably did. He continued to sob on place as his dick felt too many stimulating feelings he couldn't process, the soft walls, the warm and wet tight space of his throat, it was too much, so all he could do was just wsir it all out as he sobbed quietly on the floor.
Byakuya appreciated his compliance and submissiveness, he may as well touched himself too just to get him going as well. While he was enjoying himself, licking his length, feeling every last drop of sweat, cum, and even the small veins coursing within, beating quickly, he was getting annoyed of his soft yelping. Yes he did enjoy Makoto's misery a ton, but he just wouldn't shut up. He scooted up, as he did he unzipped his own fly and grind himself onto Makoto's stomach. He leaned his face towards his and began to kiss him to quiet him down. It wasn't that he was being too loud, hell everyone was already investigating in a completely different area. And Makoto's whimpers was no more above a whisper, but man did the blonde really want to feel every bit of him. There, he could feel the faint vibrating whimpers though his soft yet chapped lips.
Makoto's body stiffened at the sudden action, but he soon began to relax in the kiss, seeing as how this was the only intimate form of contact throughout this entire thing. Byakuya went slow and steady for the kiss, not forcful or going too fast or he'd get the opposite effect. Instead of expecting silence, he herd a quiet moan or hum from the boy, he couldn't tell apart but he didn't mind. Makoto didn't exactly kiss back but just let it happen. Tears still slipped through the cracks between his closed eyelids but he could only do so much to calm himself down, he struggled less and his annoying pleads stopped.
A couple of minutes after, Byakuya leaned up away from the kiss, looking down at Makoto only to realize he feel asleep through the kiss. How could he already sleep right after being assaulted to aggressively? The kids was admittedly soft but he also adapted soon, almost too soon. Byakuya was about to get up but a thought came to mind. He leaned down and tugged tightly at Makoto's hair, hearing an audible voice of discomfort. "Dare to tell anyone and I'll make sure your throat gets sore.." he whispers into his ear. He gets up and leaves a sleeping Makoto in the closet, his fly still down and exposed, still hard and wet with precum and full of Byakuya's saliva and dried up tear trails down his face.

hey! this is chance & here’s the prompt for week 6. what are your oc's bedrooms like? messy? neat? carefully designed? or a collection of their favorite things? you can verbally describe or use photos, whatever you think is best.
Hii this came a little earlier than i expected. chance jumpscare
(cw for implied alcohol at around leo's part)
Logan- He isn't big on decorations, and he's a little too busy to make his room look nice, but he tries. He has a desk and a swivel chair, and a PC. He keeps pens and paper and other assorted items- gifts from the others, little photographs, etc etc- on the desk as well. He also never really was comfortable decorating it, since he kinda stole the house from the triplet's dead mom
Leo- Gray sheets, maybe one blanket, but an atrocious amount of pillows. She has a collection of VHS tapes, a radio, and a bookshelf full of dozen of little dumb trinkets. Tarot cards, board games, books, matchboxes, yeah. She has stuffed animals hidden somewhere. Five unfinished puzzles on the floor
-Dahlia Leo- She wasn't expecting Ryan to go with her after her fight with Jaxon, so she didn't bring enough stuff for the both of them. Because of that, and being a lil guilty for kinda kidnapping her brother, she let Ryan have the air mattress, as well as her blanket. She sleeps in the room across from Ryan in the school, the second-grade science classroom. She sleeps on a pile of clothes, using her backpack as a pillow. She never bothered to buy anything new for herself or Ryan, while they were missing. A lot of empty cans of. ""soda"". She stole a baseball bat from a dumpster nearby, which ends up coming in handy when Dylan and Ryan and Elliot possess everyone
-Rosemary Leo- White floor, white ceiling, white walls. The door is metal, and doesn't have a knob to open. The windows are opaque, and can't be broken. The bed has a metal frame, with white sheets and a foam, rectangular pillow. There's a white bookshelf, with only a few books, and a stack of papers and crayons. On the opposite side of the bed, there's a TV and remote, it only has a few channels and it doesn't work very well. There's a circular table in the corner with one chair. Leo still hasn't finished her puzzles
Cass- Fairy lights are strung up on the walls, wrapped around those fake vines. Light green bedsheets, matching curtains. Plants line the windowsill. She has a bowl of candy beside her nightstand with her lamp and hand sanitizer. Very cozy :)
Kai- He keeps his room very neat. Painted dark red, he's got a beige carpet. One wall is just a big bookshelf. He has a canopy bed and a chandelier and a bed for his cat Muffin
Lily- Painted pink. She has a white, shag carpet on the floor, and those sequin decoration pillows that kinda hurt to sleep on. A lot of little plants. Fairy lights hang from the ceiling. She has a lot of family photos on her desk. She's got a vanity table. A lil messy
Jaxon + Dylan- Very messy on account of Jaxon never cleaning and Dylan firmly believing that, at this point, it's a health hazard to touch anything. Life forms are prob growing under their bunk bed. Jaxon has the top bunk, and I'm looking in chapter 7 because I described their room there. His bed looks like it hasn't been made since he was nine years old. He keeps empty chip bags there. Dylan's is much neater, lot of blankets and stuffed frogs. There's two bean bags in front of the television, one green for Dylan, one blue for Jaxon. Eventually, Leo gets a red one. Posters from various cartoons and video games overlap each other. Also, Jaxon has a hamster on their desk
-Rosemary Jaxon- Small. Around the size of a walk-in closet. The floor is just straight up dirt, and the walls are concrete. It's dark, one, dim light in the corner of the room, and a metal bench held up by two chains. There is also a rat named Jeremy
Marcy- Kind of like Leo's, but a bit more purple-themed. She's got an electric guitar hanging up, with some band posters covering the walls. Her room is painted gray
Ryan + Sam- They have a bunk bed. Ryan's is the bottom, with his bed covered up with stuffed animals of various sea creatures. Sam has a little less stuffed animals, but the wall and his ceiling, where he can reach, are covered in stickers. Sam's green army men and Ryan's plastic bugs are scattered on the floor, which is great for them, terrible for anyone who tries to get into their room. Sam has a lot of Hot Wheel sets along the walls, Ryan's got a lot of Legos that are in immediate danger of being broken by his brother
-Dahlia Ryan- The kindergarten room of the small school he and Leo were staying at. The paint was scratched, the lights were broken, but Leo let him have the air mattress she was planning on keeping for herself, as well as her blanket
-Dahlia Sam- Ryan's got him locked out of his room for the first two chapters, so he has the last remaining guest bedroom, and he couldn't really get any of his stuff. He steals Elliot's nightlight. The picture Leo found in forget me not is on his floor. He couldn't stay in Ryan's room after he left, so he kept the guest room. He's got his sports equipment in an orange bag
Elliot- Solar system rug covers his floor, colored lights hang from the ceiling, keeping the room usually purple. His toys are kept up on shelves hammered into his walls. He and Dylan painted styrofoam spheres to look like planets, and the two of them hung up glow star stickers to look like constellations, and they spent a while hanging them up. He's got a telescope by his window, and neon signs In Rosemary, he shares this room with Ryan, Sam, and Dylan, with Dylan's mattress closest to his bed, Ryan's next to theirs, and Sam's next to his

'M not going anywhere.
Remus x Reader
Requested? - It's part 3!
Summary - After leaving Remus, you found yourself with family in the horribly hot state of Texas. What can come of you now? With friends with worries the size of the state and a heart almost as broken as they come, what on earth can you do with yourself with the man shows up - only, in his werewolf state?
Trigger Warning - cursing, mentions of abortion
Guide - (y/m/n) - Your middle name
This one has a lot of backstory in it, fair warning! It's not super action filled, but the next chapter will be up soon!
When you met Remus, you were in school with him. You had known all about the infamous Maurauders and their love for trouble, but didn't really see much of them. Well, you thought you hadn't. You had seen each of them separately, James was in potions with you, Sirius had been in Care of Magical Creatures with you, Peter in Transfiguration, but Remus, well, you didn't think you had him in anything until 4th year. Separately, you thought they were all good people, kind to you in classes, funny when the lesson was droning on, and calm enough to let you get your notes finished within reasonable time.
By fourth year, you had gotten used to each of the three boys separately. When you met Remus in Charms, hanging out with him as a Prefect while walking through the hallways, then outside of your duties together and with the rest of your friends, it came as a surprise at how different he acted with the three boys.
He was always so incredibly kind, so beautiful with his words to you, so when your feelings for him grew substantially, it didn't seem to surprise you. But, when he actually asked you out in fifth year, with the major confirmation of his friends that, yes, Moony, she's crazy for you! Everyone besides you can see it! Just ask her!, You found yourself speechless.
The Remus Lupin liked you back, and was asking you to your own date this Saturday. Then another one in the Astronomy tower on Tuesday night while everyone else was at dinner. Then Friday at the quidditch game, he asked if you'd sit next to him during the game where he actually held your hand.
Date after date after date had you grinning from ear to ear when he finally asked you to be his girlfriend. Kiss after kiss after kiss had you falling in love with him a little bit more each time you pulled apart and opened your eyes just a second before he did, seeing his face in pure bliss.
When you both finally did admit your love for each other was the day you admitted you had known about Moony long before he told you - which had been on your fourth date on the quidditch pitch, laying on a blanket under the stars.
"I love the stars. Something so far away can still shine that bright." You mumbled, cuddling closer to his warm frame. He was always so warm.
"I don't care much for the night." He admitted, his voice a mumble.
"Remus John Lupin, why on earth do you not like the night? It's so peaceful and breathtaking. The night gives you unlimited possibilities." You had now turned to your side, your elbow propping your head up as you tangled your legs with his.
"You wanna know the truth?" he asked you, which had honestly surprised you. Of course you wanted to know the truth. "Well, why would I want you to lie to me, Rem? Especially about something that you don't care for." Your right hand lifted to run through his hair, fluffing it and leaving it sticking up slightly.
"I don't like the moon." You nodded, showing you were listening to him. "It controls me." He whispered, closing his eyes.
"How does the moon control you?" You knew the answer to your own question, having put two and two together in your fourth year, the night he had swapped prefect duties with the Ravenclaw boy he was just telling you he didn't trust the week before. When you had arrived back in your room, feeling a little hurt at his actions, you looked out your window to see the full moon shining down on the earth, it's glow filling up a bit of the forbidden forest enough for you to see a few creatures running along the sides. A stag, a dog, and a rat? Then you heard it, the long howl filling the quiet. Somehow, you're not sure exactly how, but it all clicked in you faster than you could have blinked.
Prongs - A stag. Padfoot - A dog. Wormtail - A rat. And most importantly, Moony - A werewolf.
You didn't ever bring it up, but with each month, pieces fell right into place. Now, you laid with the man himself, holding his deepest secret in your heart without him even knowing you held it.
"Y/n, as much as I wish I didn't have to tell you this, if I want our relationship to get anywhere, I know I have to." He sighed, his eyes staying closed, refusing to see your reaction. "I'm a werewolf." You let out a fake gasp, your hand leaving his hair to trace one of the scars on his forehead.
"I- I'm sorry." You whispered, your eyes staying on his. "You're sorry you don't wanna date me anymore?" He quizzed you, finally opening his eyes to face you. This caused you to let out a small chuckle, shaking your head. "Rem, why on earth would I not wanna date you anymore?" Your hand moved back to his hair, your nails scratching softly at his scalp. "I could hurt you, y/n." He spoke, his voice soft and full of fear.
"Remus, you've known me for a year now. You could have hurt me any other full moon, what would us dating change? It's not like I'm going to follow you out into the woods when you shift. It's not like I'm going to go out searching for you when you are out in your wolf form. It means I'd get to kiss each wound when you come back. It means I'd get to hold you in my arms and read to you every once in a while. It means I'd get to go on cute dates and make you bake with me in the kitchens. You being a wolf doesn't change anything." You shrugged nonchalantly, smiling up at him.
That night, Remus kissed you. He kissed you almost a thousand times. He kissed you so much that, when you woke up the next morning, your lips were still swollen.
After you and Remus had really been a couple for a while, you had realized how much he loved to sniff you. You didn't know if it was the Remus in him, or the Moony in him, but it didn't really bother you. You loved smelling him, why would it be so weird if he smelled you? If you were cuddling, his nose would burry in your hair, or your neck, or your chest, and he'd slowly inhale your scent to calm himself down.
If you were walking down the hallways, he bring your intertwined hands to lay a soft kiss on it before inhaling your scent, kissing it once more, then bringing them back down to sway as you walked.
If he had a horrible day, a bad full moon, or just felt off, he'd search the entire grounds until he found you, look your right in your eyes as he walked right to you, grab you by your waist, and pull you into him to hug you as tightly as he could, inhaling your intoxicating scent for himself.
This had caused you to start leaving a piece of your clothing in the bag they took with them when he turned, so he'd have something with him he could smell that reminded him of you. You were never sure if it helped or not, you never asked him and he never brought it up, but it gave you a sense of comfort each full moon.
But now, standing in front of the wolf himself, watching as his snout lifted into the air and took a deep inhale, well, it didn't exactly comfort you.
Which is why, with your eyes set on him, you reached down and into your boot, gripping onto the end of your wand, before pulling up and sending out two purple balls of light, each of them shooting into both of the houses around you.
This hadn't fazed him, for his eyes were still set on you, as he took a step closer. Before you had time to react, a dog had shot infront of you, growling at the creature before you. Right as he stepped, Moony bent down and growled at Sirius, but his a tone deeper and dripping with a warning.
It must have surprised Sirius, for he whimpered and stepped backwards, closer to your frame, which didn't help his case for Moony then snapped at him, stepping closer to him.
"Sirius, get behind Y/n." Your grandfather had stepped out his face door in a rush, his eyes taking in the scene before him. "Sirius, get behind Y/n and get into the house." Sirius whined at the older man, not wanting to leave you alone.
"Lily is in labor." You called to the man, watching him nod. "Sirius, if you run six blocks east, there is a small cottage. It's blue with white shutters on the left side. That's the healer closest to us. She'll come." This got Sirius to move, quickly rushing out of the gated yards.
"Now, y/n, he's not going to hurt you. I've only ever seen this once, but he recognizes your scent and the scent of your kids. It's kinda like he's sensing a mate with you because of your kids. Just stay calm. I'm surprised he hasn't already tackled you to the ground. Just, slowly sit down and let him come to you."
The last thing you expected of this night was the situation at hand, but now, you were sitting on the cold rocks, slightly shivering, your best friend in labor in the house behind you, watching your financé (?) slowly walk towards you, almost like Moony was afraid to frighten you.
He leaned down on all fours before he lowered his head into your lap, inhaling your scent deeply before letting it rest fully on your legs. His nose rested right at your belly bump, rubbing it slightly on your clothed stomach before letting out a sigh of relief.
You looked up at your grandfather, seeing him watching you intently. "Don't move, not that he'll let you. I will bring out a few pillows and a blanket for you. I'll make sure the healer helps Lily." You nodded, your eyes now moving to look down at Moony.
You hadn't ever seen him in his wolf state, but he somehow still looked handsome. His eyes were now closed, his body relaxed as he soaked in your scent.
"What do you mean, you're not joining the Order?" Remus yelled at you, his face red with fury. There were very few times Remus was this angry with you, usually when you had been neglecting yourself of necessities. But, this time, he was raging in fury with your absolute denial to join the war.
"Remus, I'm just saying I'm not going to go out and fight! Molly doesn't! I'm going to stay back and help where I'm needed. There are tons of you going to fight, I'm staying back to take care of everyone that doesn't go on the missions! What do you want from me?! I wasn't good at defensive spells, I wasn't good at duels! Do you want me to go out there and fucking die?" This caused him to quiet down, your fury having grown substantially.
The two of you sat in silence for a few moments, allowing you both to calm down. "I don't want you to die. I would kill myself if you ended up dying on one of the missions." Remus' voice was soft and full of fear now. "Then why do you want me to go out there and fight, Rem? You are the one that saw me up past midnight trying to learn the defensive spells so often. You're the one I made duel with me night after night to try to improve. You of all people know that I couldn't properly protect myself or anyone else if I went."
He nodded, hating to admit that you were right. He had even told you, seventh year, "Baby, I love you, but you're definitely not getting your excellent mark on this. You'll pass, but barely." You had been much more skilled in potions and herbology, not in the defensive skills.
"I just, I can't stand the idea of you being back home if the order gets attacked. I know that's stupid, I know that's irrational, it's much more dangerous to actually be out there, I'm just scared." It hurt your heart to hear him admit how scared he was, but, you all were scared. You were growing up in a war that shouldn't be yours to fight.
"Remus, while I stink at my defensive skills, have you seen Molly Weasley? The woman survives on defensive skills, all her kids figuring out how to moderately work their magic. I think I'm safer with her than with you." This caused him to break into a small smile, but wrap you up tightly in his arms. "You're not safer with anyone else but me. I'd murder Voldemort himself before he touched you." You gasped at the use of his name, turning to eye the love of your life. "You said his name." You whispered, your eyes wide. "Well, I'd use his name to his face if it kept you out of harm's way."
You had dozed off a bit, your head laying back on the pillow Sirius had brought you, having gawked at the wolf fast asleep in your hold. "We always knew your scent calmed him, it always did when you gave him some of your clothes, but this? I'd never thought I'd live to see the day Moony didn't try to attack whoever was in front of him."
You had only been awoken by James, tapping on your shoulder. You jerked awake, seeing Moony still asleep in your hold. "Lily had the baby, a girl. They're both up in our room, but she wanted me to come tell you and check up on you." He eyed Moony warily, fear still evident in his body, worried the wolf would awake and tear you to shreds. "I'm so glad. Did everything go okay?" Your voice was a whisper, not wanting to wake the wolf either.
"Yeah, the healer said she did great. Hardly needed the help." James sat down beside you, but scooted a foot away from you when Moony growled in his sleep, the foreign scent mixing with yours. "It's weird, seeing him like this. All the nights we were out there with him, trying to keep him from tearing into Hogwarts and keep him away from you when it's apparently all he needed." James shook his head, attempting to remove the shock from his head.
"I don't think he needs me anymore." You whispered. While it hurt you to say, you honestly believed it. The man let you leave without a sliver of doubt. He watched you walk out of the home you built together, taking his kids with you.
"Y/n, he searched the world until he found you, of course he needs you." James didn't say anything about you needing to forgive him, about you needing to hear him out, because he didn't think Remus deserved that. He just knew that Remus did need you. "He should be shifting back soon. I brought out some of his clothes I found in your stuff." He gestured to the pile of clothes beside the both of you before standing up.
"When you guys get inside, Lily would love for you to come in and meet her." You smiled at that, nodding. "It would be my honor."
You laid back down, listening to the morning sounds slowly begin, until you felt the movement under you, watching for your own eyes as Remus shifted back into himself. He groaned, the pain filling his frame once more within 12 hours, the sounds of his groans bringing tears to your eyes.
Once he was fully to himself, his eyes opened and met yours, widening. "What?" He asked softly, his gaze not leaving yours. You reached over, grabbing the clothes brought out for him before dropping them on his chest. He sat up without another word, removing his body from yours and beginning to get dressed.
He stood, pulling the boxers and pants on as you stood yourself. You grabbed the pillows and blankets, waiting until he began to pull on the sweater before rushing inside, hoping to escape the looming conversation.
You set the things down in the living room before slowly creeping up the stairs and towards the room with Lily and James, hearing a soft and small cry emitting from it. You knocked softly, hearing the "come in" before you creaked open the door. "Hey you four." You whispered, seeing Harry fast asleep on James' chest.
"Y/n, thank Merlin." Lily spoke, her eyes welling with tears at the sight of you. "I was so worried. I didn't know what happened." You smiled, walking closer to the woman. "It's all okay, it's a long story, but it's all okay." You walked closer until you were at the edge of the bed, looking down at Lily and the beautiful baby girl.
"Take her." Lily whispered, looking up at you. "What?" you asked, your eyes wide. "You're gonna need the practice, take her." You nodded, slowly grabbing the baby from Lily, coddling her to your chest.
"Y/n!" You heard Remus call before turning into the room, staring at you holding the baby. "You had her?" Remus now asked Lily, smiling widely. "Mhm, last night. Looks like two people decided to make an entrance." Lily laughed, smiling at you.
"She's beautiful." You whispered, your eyes having stayed on the baby in yours arms. "What's her name?" You looked down at Lily, now seeing James awake and looking at you. "Well, we wanted to confirm with you, but we wanted to name her Harley y/m/n Potter." You gasped softly, looking down at the two parents.
"Are you sure?" They both nodded before you finished speaking, "More than sure." Your tears fell freely as you looked down at the baby, seeing her now asleep in your warm hold. "I'd be honored."
Remus had now walked to you, standing behind you as he looked down, his eyes set on you holding the baby girl, pregnant with his own kids. His gaze moved to the ceiling, holding in tears before he glanced at the bed, seeing James glaring daggers into his frame.
"Here, I'm gonna go freshen up. She's absolutely beautiful, guys." You carefully handed Harley back to her mom before quickly walking out of their room, but stopping a few steps away to hear James speak.
"Fucking prat, there the fuck you are! Where have you been?!" His voice was harsh, angry at his best mate. "Looking for her, what else! The second she left Molly's, I've been looking!" Remus' voice was scratchy like it was every morning after a turn.
"Yeah, well, you're a dick." Lily spoke up, still looking down at her baby girl. "I still think Sirius should have punched you harder." Remus nodded, looking at the floor.
"I can't believe I said that to her, guys. What the fuck kind of person am I?" His voice was growing rougher, his eyes swelling with tears. "Don't go on about this with us, mate. You're in the same house as her, go tell her." That caused you to walk off quickly, moving to your room, shutting the door and leaning against it.
Your hands wrapped around your belly, bringing you back to the day you apparated out of Molly's living room, having held your stomach the same way, protecting your children. What on earth do you say to him? What did you want from him?
You weren't sure what the answer was to either of those questions, which is why you quickly left your room and slipped into the bathroom. He couldn't talk to you if you were in the shower. You confirmed you had your bathroom items before jumping into the shower, taking the longest shower you had ever taken in your life.
While you stood, shampoo in your hair, you thought.
What if he still doesn't want them? I'd have to stay here. I'd move in fully and live in Texas. Texas, really? It's so fucking hot and I'd miss snow. Then I'd move in with Molly. Nope, no way, there are already 7 kids there, she does not need two more. Then, James and Lily? Nope. She just had another newborn, there was no way you'd bug them with this. Sirius. That's where you'd go. He had tons of space and you're sure he'd be more than okay with you there.
But, what if he changed his mind? What if he did want them? How could you trust that? How could you possibly believe he'd want them after immediately suggesting they be gotten rid of?
As you applied the conditioner, you wished you could just go back to the easier things. The happier things. The things that had you almost thinking you lived in a world not plagued with pending war.
Five years after graduation. You were sitting in Remus' lap at James and Lily's place, still getting used to Peter not being around. Harry now being two had you all more than happy, listening to his vocabulary grow.
The football game was on, the muggle TV playing as Lily still attempted to explain it to Sirius and James. Remus had his arms around you, his gaze no longer on the TV, but on Harry as he played on the floor with his stuffed dragon. "I can't believe you got him a muggle toy." He laughed in your ear, the smile evident on his face. "Well, he loves Dragons! I couldn't not buy it." You smiled at your boyfriend, kissing his nose softly. The night carried on, the five of you playing a few games of sharades, but you exiting the room to grab the next plate of sliders to bring into the room.
As you sat back down, Harry walked up to you, sat in your lap, and grabbed your face. "Mawwy me." He giggled softly, your eyebrows furrowing as Lily quickly yanked him from your lap, nervously chuckling. "Hah, sorry, don't know where that came from" You looked around the room, all four faces refusing to look at you, all of them nervously laughing along with Lily.
"Did Harry just ask me to marry him?" You watched as they glanced around nervously before breaking out, talking over each other. "What, psh, no way." "Where would he have learned how to do that?" "I didn't hear that, did you hear that?" "No, but I did." All talked stopped, everyone looking at Remus. "What did you just say?"
Remus took a deep breath, moving off the couch and turning to look at you, before bending down onto one knee. "I've been talking to them a lot about how I was going to ask you, but seeing as how Harry beat me to the punch, let's do it right now. Y/n, right in front of our friends and a little boy who doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut." James tickled Harry, causing him to giggle as you all smiled. "I'm asking the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my entire life, the girl who showed me that being something you can't control doesn't make you a monster, the girl who makes me smile with just a single giggle, to marry me. You have shown me a happiness I thought everyone was faking, a love that I didn't think existed outside of James and Lily and Molly and Arthur, and a kindness I thought had left the world.
"So, in the living room of our best friends, surrounded by food I think Harry might have stuck his fingers in, I ask you to marry me. Make me the happiest man in the world and marry me."
You thought his proposal had been so incredibly beautiful, better than any you ever could have imagined. As you rinsed off the extra shaving cream from your legs, you sighed deeply. How did your love life come to this?
Eventually, you had exited the shower, tying the bathrobe around your bump before opening the bathroom door, walking out and jumping at the sight of Remus sitting on your bed.
"Fuck, you scared me." You clutched your belly, looking at the man. "Oh, shoot, sorry." You pulled the robe tighter, seeing his eyes flutter down to his legs. It hurt your heart to think you needed to cover up from him, but you attempted to cover the large bump behind the robe.
"Let me, uh, let me change really quick." You grabbed your underwear from your dresser before rushing into the closet, shutting the door and dressing in a shirt and a baggier set of overalls, hoping it didn't show your belly too much. When you walked out, Remus was now pacing the floor, his hands gripping his hair tightly.
"Rem, stop, it's fine." you quickly walked to him, pulling his hands from his hair. "I'm glad you're okay." You mumbled the words, taking a step back from him. He inhaled deeply, his eyes shutting.
"I can still smell the change in your scent. Really, Moony can, but I can still tell." You nodded, stepping back once more.
"Y/n, we need to talk." You laughed bitterly, a mix of anger and sadness filling your body. "You think we need to talk, Remus? You think so? You think we should talk about the fact that, the second you got back from being on a mission you could have died on, you yelled at me for something I couldn't control? You think we should talk about the fact that you basically told me to abort our kids? You think we should talk about the fact that you let me walk out of our home without trying to stop me? You think we should talk about that?"
Your hands were shaking in anger, your eyes swelling up with tears. Damn, how much can one person cry? Your hands gripped your own hair now, pulling it in anger. "How can I cry this much? How does this happen?" You shouted in anger, now at yourself. "Fucking hormones!" Your hands fell to your sides, your eyes squeezed shut before your felt yourself in the hold of him.
His scent filled you, filled you up until your body relaxed involuntarily. "'S okay, I'm right here. I'm right here." One hand went up to smooth the hair that you yanked, the other firmly holding you to him. Your hands wrapped around him, grasping onto the fabric of his shirt at his back. "I'm so fucking mad at you, Remus. So fucking mad." Your tears slowed, your eyes closing as you finally felt safe.
He had been your safe place for so long and going without him for this long had kept your body weak. Now, relaxed in his hold, your body begged for decent sleep. You allowed yourself to go limp in his hold, feeling him pick you up bridal style and walk to both to the bed, curling up with you in his arms. "'M right here, love. Right here and I'm not going anywhere." You drifted to sleep, holding him with as much strength as you could as you slept.

Abourt Rei Himura and BNHA Chapter 301
Now that I've read the official release of chapter 301 I can finally try to gather my thoughts. I think this time the particular rendition of dialogues and inflections provided by Caleb Cook is more crisp and clear than usual, especially in throwing "shade" upon Endeavor as a father figure. But let's do things in order...
Title: THE WRONG WAY TO PUT OUT A FIRE - a simple, but stark message that doesn't leave space for ambiguity. There was a fire, an imminent tragedy that could and should have been avoided, but whoever tried to fix it, did it all wrong and now we have to deal with a huge arson.
CARLESS HANDLING OF FIRE, on the other hand, doesn't quite cut it for me, because it seems like everything was caused by a foolish mistake. "I was carless and now I'm in a pinch"- type of situation, while it's perfectly clear that Endeavor and Rei decided purposefully which "strategy" to use with Touya. A BAD one to say it lightly. Rei's contribution and complicity is debatable, of course, and I'll touch on this later.
Let me get this clear though: I'm not trying in any way to critique the hard work of unofficial translators. I can't say anything relevant because I'm not a translator in the first place (I can barely understand English and my native language on a good day) and also because I am so grateful for everything they do in order to give us really good material FREE OF CHARGE basically a second after the release in Japan. I'm just interested about the different shades of subtext we can catch if we read the story through multiple filters. Every translation is unique because it carries the personal spin of the author even if the bias should be inexistent or ideally undetectable...
However, back to the chapter
REI'S CAGE
The first scene opens on a luxurious classic Japanese villa, with Enji, Rei and her parents discussing the motivation behind Enji's proposal. Or at least we initially think that's what's going on... Because in reality Rei's family couldn't care less about the motivation. Everything these people see is a wealthy, famous guy the next number one hero ready to take their daughter in marriage. I guess the Himuras are pretty broke, thight on cash, their old prestige is definitely gone and all they can do to save themselves from shame and poverty is "to sell" their only remaining asset.
During the whole ordeal, Rei is standing still, silent, cold as ice. She knows she doesn't really have a choice. How mortifying and sad is this? An adult, capable woman has no agency whatsoever, she is used again and again and she stoically accepts this treatment from every single dominant figure in her life until she can't be stoic anymore. I really hope Horikoshi's going to give her a much more proactive role in saving her family and it seems the narrative wants us to expect this type of character development.
I'd like to point out 2 panels in particular:
First one
Tumblr media
In this scene the Todorokis are back from their trip to the doc, who clearly said they shouldn't try to conceive a child with a perfect quirk mix because it is dangerous (and morally questionable too). Rei understands this fact and tries to dissuade Enji, but he doesn't listen, because he's projecting all his pent-up resentment and frustration onto Touya. He knows how it feels to crush against an unbreakable wall, since he can't surpass All might and his son can't too. He had to learn this truth the hard way, so Touya needs to do the same. Enji is purposefully throwing upon his son years of failures, self consciousness and despair, just because the boy has to get it into his thick skull that he is a dud, just like his father. This is not a hopeless dad making a mistake bona fide, this is a broken man trying to destroy his self reflection by proxy, annihilating everything Touya is, swiping the kid's identity under the rug. He describes his son's dreams and sadness as something birthed from stubbornness. He is auto-convincing himself however (because Endeavor is not stupid). A little bit later he's basically saying: "Touya let's play make believe! We can go on like everything I had engulfed in your psyche never existed, you're a failed attempt so you don't exist. Your needs and wants are silly and useless, nothing worth dealing with now that I can't make you my prodigy. Why don't you go play with the other failures so that I don't have to look at myself while taking actually care of you. I don't want to see you, because it's too painful, because you're a remainder of my own inadequacy."
Note: If you want to read an incredibly well done analysis about Endeavor's motives and psyche, you can get it on @thyandrawrites , she's dwelt on everything extensively and way better than me.
I really want to talk about Rei though. In the panel I showed above, her expression is a bit tricky to analyse. At first she is very vocal about her position. She doesn't want to put Touya through useless suffering, especially since they have a scientific reason not to. They have no guarantee of success with other children, besides, they could possibly have to deal with other health related issues. However, all it takes to convince her in the end is Enji's half assed attempt at the "It's for Touya's sake" shtick. Is it really? Why doesn't she question her husband anymore?
Well... I think before Natsuo, she was probably hoping Touya would let go "naturally", with time and growth, maybe by taking interest in his other siblings. Rei said she wanted to have more children because in her mind they would have supported and loved each other. Maybe she was naive enough to think that a big family full of kids few years apart from each other was all Touya needed to distract himself from his purposes... BUT and here is the point I want to get across: She was deluding herself too, much like Enji. The ugly truth, in my opinion, is that Rei is a person prone to protect herself by going with everything other people want, especially if said people are capable of hurting her. Yes, she was hurt time and time again, but what would have happened if she really tried to stop Enji?
What I am trying to say is that Rei is the kind of person who endures to survive. She holds a "captive" mentality in which, by indulging her captor's desires, she can continue living with less possibile damage. If I stay still and silent, if I don't make a scene, I can go on, I can hold onto the few things I have that actually make me happy.
Let's think about it... Enji was so obsessed with his psychotic, power-hungry quest that he would have probably disown Rei. She would have been thrown away for a more compliant woman with an ice quirk, or something similar, this resulting in her probably losing everything, the respect and love of her family (the Himuras) and also her own children. Because we know Endeavor can definitely hold a grudge and is vendicative.
So, clarifying, Rei doesn't put up a fight because she is scared for herself in a way... She is scared to be hurt in the worst possible way (by losing her little bit of serenity), so her strategy is to endure and to keep up a facade of control and purpose.
Rei, ironically just like Touya and other characters in mha, doesn't really get what unconditional love is. Her family loves her until she can be useful to the Himura name and status, her husband loves her for her quirk. Her children, however, love her for who she is and she wants to stay with them... Only to be forced to leave them later anyway.
The few times Rei actually smiles are when she is with her babies. She is a deeply loving mother in her core, but her declining mental health makes her a very lacking caregiver.
Tumblr media
This panel, in my opinion, shows the point of no return for Rei. She can't keep the glacial facade forever...
After Natsuo's turn to be deemed a failure, Endeavor is crazier than ever, because All Might is as popular and loved as ever and he hasn't make any progress into his eugenetic games. The last two images of Rei are very telling. She is exhausted, but she knows what her husband wants from her this time too. She looks like a lifeless doll and honestly I can easily see Shouto's conception as... Non consensual and I will stop here.
Then Shouto is born, the last, perfect specimen... And Rei isn't doing much for Touya, we can see she's apparently blind towards her eldest son's distress already after Natsuo's birth... But why?
Because she is actively avoiding to face the Touya's problems too.
If Touya is still suffering, is still feeling stressed and worthless, then everything Rei has endured, everything she pretended not to feel for the sake of her family has been completely useless. What Rei cannot look at is her own parental failure, is the concrete proof that while protecting herself and her peace she did not protect her children too, because the two interests were never really aligned, even if she really believed so. She never had a functional family to preserve in the first place and everything she accepted to do was all for the sake of a false sense of belonging.
However is too easy to say she should've rebelled against Enji and dumped his sorry ass. Abuse traps you and your abuser too in a cage tricky to escape.
What I imagine will happen next chapter is one of two things:
Enji stops Touya by using brute force, probably also saying something really scarring to reinforce the notion that Shouto is the only child he cares about.
Rei stops Touya by using her quirk. This act could be considered by Touya another confirmation that even his mother actually does something by her own accord only when Shouto's safety is at risk
Necessary conclusions
I don't blame Rei for her actions too much. She is a victim turned abuser by circumstances, but more importantly she's actually taken mesures to prevent herself from hurting her children again. She's trying to heal for her family's sake, really this time. Ten years spent dealing with guilt and having actual therapy seem a good plan to me. And now she's the one ready to snap Enji back to reality.
Enji, on the other hand, is trying too. It's too little too late, but if he stops avoiding reality and hardly works on understanding his family's point of view I don't think he is completely unredeemable. I don't see him surviving his last confrontation with Touya, thought... But I could be totally wrong.
Obviously everything I've said it's my personal analysis on Rei's character, as I interpret her actions and words, so feel free to contradict me and/or to add anything you might see fit.

Let's Talk About NatsuMikan: Natsume (pt. 14)
Natsume has been putting himself on the line for his sister. He's currently manipulating his way into the Hana Hime den, completely unaware that he's falling for a trap set for him. At the same time, his manipulations involve spending a lot of time with Mikan, and how his feelings of love for her complicate things.
Tumblr media
Chapter Fifty-Six
The boys dutifully dress in girls’ kimonos, even if they are embarrassed. Natsume will do anything for his sister, so dressing in drag is really nothing compared to all the other stuff he has done and will do for her.
Upon arriving at the house for the party, Mikan is very excited, waving her hands (including the one not-actually-stuck to Natsume) and dragging him all over, which he surprisingly allows.
Tumblr media
Yeah, yeah, the scans are low-quality, but what matters is LOOK AT THEM. She's so excited and dragging him around and he just lets her! I'm obsessed.
They enter, escorted by Shizune, who leads them past the party on the first floor, which is open to all Middle school girls. They are headed to the more exclusive party on the second floor. Many of the Middle school girls gossip about the group headed up the stairs, but Mikan is happy to notice Misaki and Nobara in the crowd. Nobara is excited to see her, until she sees Natsume there too. Her mood changes from excited to scared, asking why Natsume has come to this place and warning Mikan to get him out because he won’t be safe there.
Nobara is surprised to see him, but also scared for him, which gives off the impression that either she didn't think Natsume would fall for the trap or she wasn't aware that there was a trap at all but knows that the Hana Hime den is a dangerous place for him anyway. With this in mind, we can see that something very dangerous is awaiting Natsume. If he does find his sister, it won't be easy getting her out safely.
Chapter Fifty-Seven
Almost immediately after arriving, Hotaru is able to separate from Ruka and Youichi, which spurs Natsume to finally give up Mikan’s hand as well. The MSP is obviously peeved by the boys’ presence and the role she was forced to play for Persona.
The flower princesses have decided to cheer the MSP up by choosing one of the incoming group to bully. Hotaru is absolutely out of the question, as she is the only one the MSP actually intended to invite. The boys are not chosen either, as Natsume is to be sacrificed to Persona and the princesses find them all cute. That leaves Mikan, who is immediately obnoxious and loud, the perfect target for ridicule.
Mikan is very excited about the traditions and rituals of the flower party, but she is very persistently excluded from each one. Even the boys get flower names (other than Yo-chan), but Mikan is ignored when she asks for one.
She is then excluded from the feast, with all the dishes purposefully taken from her and placed in front of other people. She is then given a “medicine” which only makes her smell bad so the other attendees want to stay away from her. Hotaru seems to be distracted by the special treatment she was so looking forward to, but Natsume is visibly bothered by the strange way in which the flower princesses are treating Mikan.
The games they play either exclude Mikan, mock her, or both.
In no time at all, she is thoroughly lonely, depressed, and hungry, her face painted all over.
They all sit around for another game, and the flower princesses decide that Mikan shouldn’t be invited for this one at all. Though Ruka and Hotaru are put off by this, Natsume has had enough, so he leaves the circle completely. Hotaru's way of defending Mikan is to get back at the girls through a game she invented, but Natsume's technique is a bit more straight-forward.
Tumblr media
Natsume doesn't even like these people. Mikan, on the other hand...
Natsume has gone to fetch a dumpling for Mikan, a chestnut kuri kinton shaped like an orange. Perfect for her, he says. He then says he’s unbothered by the smell of her medicine, especially compared to the perfumes sprayed all over the place. Natsume doesn’t care about being polite and courteous to the MSP. He’s here to save Aoi, and standing by while these girls bully the love of his life won’t exactly help him save Aoi, so why should he do it?
So they end up bickering over something stupid again, and Mikan seems all cheered up.
She even seems sad to see him go to the bathroom, telling him to hurry so they can eat and spend more time together.
Tumblr media
Pretending is so much harder when he can see that she actually enjoys spending time with him. How is he supposed to be okay with his fate when this is so much more pleasant?
He shuts her down, like it’s no big deal, but it is, of course, like everything else he borrows.
But he can’t have her waiting for him when he knows deep down there’s a chance he might not come back. He’s here for a reason after all, and that reason is sadly not to eat kuri kinton with Mikan. It’s to save his sister, who might be captive in a dungeon somewhere.
The MSP warns him not to explore too much, as she won’t be responsible for anything that happens to him.
He begins by looking for a bathroom, but there are no boys’ bathrooms, so he wanders around. His attention is immediately grabbed by some girls talking about “Yuki Aoi”. This is a trap, of course, just like everything else. He follows the girls downstairs into the basement, trying to look for Aoi, but the girls quickly report to Persona that it’s all going according to plan. It almost seems like too obvious a trap, but Natsume is desperate. He hasn't heard from Aoi in too long. He's so eager to find her that he doesn't see the warning signs, like that all the hints about Aoi are a bit too obvious.
Now is time for the Dangerous Ability Discipline Squad to be deployed.
Chapter Fifty-Eight
Natsume descends into the dungeons, perfectly aware that he could end up staying there forever, and that he’ll be horribly punished for sure. There isn’t a lot of Natsume in this chapter actually, but his friends grow concerned about his long absence from the party, and wonder if Natsume has perhaps been punished as the MSP warned, for wandering where he shouldn’t.
We learn that the MSP has a very strong barrier alice, one that protects the whole school, and that it is very powerful in the dungeons, where Natsume is.
When we do see Natsume again, he has only gone deeper into the basement, when he sees a cell with a girl in it. He quickly rushes to her side, convinced that it’s his sister, but is disappointed to find that it’s actually Nobara with a wig, unconscious.
The problem is, now he’s locked in a cell.
Chapter Fifty-Nine
Nobara, desperate as she was to make sure Natsume was okay, took Tsubasa with her into the dungeons, only to be isolated and put into a trance state. Natsume knows what the trance state means: it’s the only way she can be made to use her alice on missions, as she is usually good-natured.
He knows he’s in danger now, that the DA class has trapped him and that he might have to fight. And just like that, the Discipline Squad is there: Rui, Hayate, and Yakumo, all waiting for him.
Natsume has been acting out of line for quite some time now. He’s been going on missions that go against the agenda of the school, all to help his friends, specifically his "kitten of a different color". He’s been smiling and joking more, happy when he’s supposed to be eternally despairing. The higher ups don’t like that, and this is his punishment.
Rui explains what’s going on, since Natsume goes on missions on the outside and isn’t familiar. The Discipline Squad is a subdivision of the DA class to punish people who aren’t toeing the company line. The Hana Hime den basement is where they usually do their work. Tsubasa was once victim to Rui’s alice specifically as a punishment for his troublemaking, hence the curse mark under his eye. Natsume’s punishment will likely be much more severe.
Persona then appears, holding the unconscious Nobara, informing Natsume that this was the final test: that Natsume should have been obedient and not wandered down into the basement. However, he has failed the test and stepped out of line once again, and this is the last straw.
Tumblr media
Ah, how nice to see the Discipline Squad, my beloveds. And Natsume looks so pretty in that kimono.
Natsume is immediately on the offensive, grabbing Persona and demanding to know where Aoi is, but Persona uses his alice on Natsume’s wrists so he pulls away. Persona then instructs one of the Discipline Squad to go and get rid of the four new intruders who have descended into the basement, so now Natsume knows he has an extra responsibility beyond simply rescuing Aoi (not that rescuing Aoi was ever going to be simple).
Tumblr media
Despite always putting others first, he never considers that his existence matters to people, and that if he's in danger, his friends will come to protect him.
The squad decides Hayate will go, although he complains because he had apparently been waiting a very long time to be able to beat Natsume up. We can see that Natsume isn’t popular in the DA class either, and perhaps that Yo-chan is the only one who might admire him, even in a class where they’re all in a similar boat.
The silly antics and childish jabs of the Discipline Squad too are very interesting. They act big and tough, and were perhaps given heavy responsibilities, but they’re still children. Every single person in the DA class is a child, someone forced into these actions in some way or other, whether through emotional blackmail, physical coercion, or manipulation. All of these kids are under the illusion that they are more important than they are--simply pawns obediently doing their duty for the school’s benefit.
It’s an effective tactic to pit oppressed or victimized people against each other so they don’t focus on the real enemy, Persona and the ESP. The DA class demonstrates this quite well. Back in the day, Luna was pitted against Yuka. Natsume hates most of his classmates except for Youichi. He can lash out at Nobara, who is loyal to Persona, because he can’t lash out at the man himself. And all the other kids hate each other, get mad at each other, argue amongst each other. Hayate getting angry that Rui is calling the shots even though the real person in charge is Persona (and even further up, the ESP) is a great example of this. They are all so busy being mad at each other that they don’t realize the person pulling the strings is the one they should be angry at.
Anyway, Persona warns Natsume that because four new people have entered the fray, he might want to submit. After all, the dungeon has the highest concentration of the MSP’s alice, and he isn’t accustomed to it, like the Discipline Squad is. But if he refuses to submit, then Persona will give him answers if, and only if, he can defeat all three members of the squad. If he cannot defeat them, well, he’ll be trapped in the dungeon for the rest of his life. Naturally, Natsume has no choice but to agree to the deal. His sister’s safety is at stake, after all, and he would do anything for her, including possibly allowing himself to be locked in a dungeon forever.
Chapter Sixty
Persona leaves Natsume alone with Rui and Yakumo, and Natsume thinks to himself that this is an impossible situation. His upperclassmen are very powerful and their alices suit the name “dangerous ability”. At the same time, he realizes that he has to win, because he wants to save Aoi and avoid being locked up. But Rui decides to take off, sensing Tsubasa in the dungeon, so Natsume is left with only Yakumo, which might make things easier. One on one is easier than two on one, after all.
But Natsume is actually not relieved. If Rui senses someone he’s marked, then there might be another person down with them. In any case, he doesn’t want Rui to meet his friends. Hayate is one thing, but Rui is far more dangerous, and they might be in serious danger if he decides to use his alice. After all, Natsume can hardly use his alice properly, so even if his friends had a chance with their alices, they’ll be at a serious disadvantage in the dungeon.
Yakumo tells him to snap out of it, to stop being distracted, because then Natsume will certainly lose. So Natsume has no choice but to hope for the best for his friends and that the mystery fifth intruder will protect them in his place, and focus on his fight with Yakumo for now.
Tumblr media
This translation is a bit unclear, but he's pleading for the mystery intruder (Tsubasa) to protect his friends because he can't.
It’s interesting, from what we see of Yo-chan standing up for the other intruders in the dungeon, that Natsume told him to look out for the others in case something happened. Why did Natsume entrust such a task to a toddler, and not to Ruka or somebody else? Well, for one, Natsume has been entrusted with caring for everyone around him at a young age too. It was his job to be the serious and mature one after his mother died, taking responsibility to be as adult as possible and protect his father and sister, even though that shouldn’t have been on his shoulders at all. He won’t think it’s unfair to ask Yo-chan for this, because he’s been through it too and it’s normal for him.
Another thing is that every kid in the DA class is extremely powerful. To be in the DA class, it’s not enough to have a potentially dangerous alice, or many other kids would be in it. Tsubasa could have been in sooner, or Ruka could have been enlisted. Even Iinchou’s alice could be potentially terrifying if used in the right way. But they’re not DA students, because the alice has to be powerful enough to exploit. Yo-chan isn’t just in possession of a creepy alice; he’s a prodigy as well. He has control of his power and can do terrifying things with it. He’s been put on missions and trained too, even as little as he is, and he can do much more with his alice than the others can. Natsume trusts Yo-chan because he knows how dangerous these situations can be and he’s the most qualified to protect his friends.
Tumblr media
Natsume please. He's just a baby.
It’s tragic, but it’s the truth. The DA students are living very different lives from the rest of them, much better acquainted with the school’s darkness than anybody else could comprehend.
And Natsume might be locked inside it forever.
Chapter Sixty-One
We learn that Yakumo has insect pheromones. Natsume is fighting hard, using his alice to protect himself, thinking hard of Aoi to keep himself aware of what he’s fighting so hard for.
There sadly isn’t much Natsume in the chapter. He’s busy at a stand-off with Yakumo and the battle isn’t really going anywhere.
Something of note is Narumi, looking at Ruka’s postcard from his mother, pondering why the children haven’t returned yet. He knows something is up, and has no doubt known the whole time at the very least that there were too many coincidences involved in the banquet to be mere coincidences. At most, he was somewhat aware that Persona was planning on punishing Natsume. With Narumi, it’s hard to tell.
Tumblr media
And he was right all along...
Narumi recalls saying that Mikan could be the key to Natsume’s future, because he’d had the hunch that Mikan would become Natsume’s light. Natsume has, after all this time, realized that as well. Nobody wants to be locked up forever, but he especially doesn’t after he’s found something that helped make him happy again. So he will fight hard, because he wants to see Aoi again, and because he wants to see Mikan again too.
Conclusion
Natsume is ready to fight his hardest to find Aoi and keep from being locked away forever. He was aware before that he might not be able to easily make it back out, but it's become harder than he had imagined. Now that he knows Mikan and the others have followed him, he has even more to consider.
It’s a shame that I won’t be talking about Natsume and Ruka’s backstory in this essay. I brought up what I wanted to at the very beginning of this essay, and I won’t say much more than that here. I’ll touch on it in the Mikan POV essay, and I’ll go into every detail I can when I eventually analyze Natsume and Ruka’s relationship, but for now, there’s not much I’ll say.
This may be surprising! No Natsume backstory analysis in a Natsume essay?! But I’d be repeating what I’d said in the beginning. This isn’t just a Natsume essay after all. It’s a ship analysis, and I’ve said what I needed to already. I’m sad to skip it because it’s one of my favorite arcs in the whole story, but I’ll beat it to death in the future, so all is well.
I'm sorry if this was underwhelming. Like I'd said before, this arc is all about discovering Natsume, and Natsume... is Natsume, so he doesn't need to discover anything. I don't want to repeat myself or beat a dead horse just to fill up space. I reckon there will be one more part to this arc! I'm also sorry for posting this kinda late. I got very busy this morning and now everything is off-schedule. I'll try to post at a normal time tomorrow.

Fandom ask game, Resident Evil! I was thinking Village, but feel free to pull from the series as a whole!
Well, despite knowing basically everyone in the series personally (and some of them... carnally hfhfhf), I don't think I'm ready to open the REvildora's Box™ just yet, so instead I shall curse you with my very based opinions on RE4 and Village instead for they are my beloveds <3c
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
RE4: The Merchant! My bestie, my pal, my boinky spunge... God I love him so much <3c Best comfort character to ever step into a RE game, I wish I could snatch him like the purse and take him home with me. Also Capcom if you're reading this... Bring him back. Tell me he's all right. Explain how the Duke knows about him. I NEED ANSWERS FFS >:(
RE Village: No thoughts, only Sturm frolicking free within the walls of my skull, bouncing around my brain like the DVD screensaver dispensing dopamine like a murderous vending machine... We shall be married in spring <3c
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
RE4: Regenerators! They're shaped like friends and they give the best hugs! Sweet toothy babies, there's not a single thought behind those eyes and we're all absolutely thankful for that jddhk Also shout out to my guys the Garradors. Absolutely fucked up choices have been made for y'all's design but you're still my fave thing to crash into in the Castle 💜
RE Village: 《 *covers the mic* Can I say Sturm again? ..No? Aight, fine, I still got this dw 》 Call me based but the Soldaten are my squad and I will hoard them like a crazy old lady gathers stray cats. Sure, they're a little blood-thirsty and they definitely don't smell good but I don't care, they're so dear to my heart I can ignore such trivialities <3c (also I'm armed with wet towelettes and I ain't afraid to use them fhfhgh)
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
RE4: Ingrid. She's not really a "fave" of mine but I do like her, she was there for us when no one else was and honestly she's quite the most beautiful sight we get to see on screen imo... too bad everyone is obsessed with Ada instead smh 🙄
RE Village: Donna Beneviento. Maybe it's the gay panic, maybe it's her chapter being one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed in a RE game or maybe it's just the sad Italian bitches solidarity™ but she's really grown on me ngl. I just wish we had seen a little more about her though :/
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I will not ever shut up about it for a week)
RE4: Mike. We met for a short time but I loved you from the first moment... To bad you had to die so soon waaaa 😭💔
RE Village: Angie, who just like her creator hasn't received the right space she deserves within the narrative. Her design is top notch, her character is literally through the roof and the fact that she's the unhinged part of Donna? Fuck Capcom, why don't we explore that a bit more uh? Why don't we get to know more about this dynamic uhh??? Justice for Angie and Donna when 😤
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
RE4: Fucking Osmund Saddler. He's slimy, he's nasty, he's got tentacles in places they shouldn't be... He's the cult leader we don't need but surely deserve basically fjhd. Love to babygirlify him one day, I think that would fix him for good uwu💅✨
RE Village: Uhh I'm gonna regret this but uh.. Mother Miranda. Girlboss, gatekeep, gaslight queen am I right? I really like her character (that design... Yes!), her motivations and overall her story arc which, despite not being flawless and could've been better managed into terms of writing, I do find quite interesting :) She still gives me kinda the homophobic vibes though so hmm. I'm conflicted fjfhh
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
RE4: Salazar. I have nothing against him, I actually kinda like him but he's short and a brat so I'm just compelled to poke fun at him (and perhaps risk the fury of his bodyguards maybe even being manhandled by them, oh noo whatever shall I dooooo hrsgahg 👀🥴). Aaand Bitores too. Like to slap his bald head reblog to slap his bald head 🎱🙋
RE Village: Heisenberg, and this time it's personal >:3c
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
RE4: Krauser. He's a half-naked annoying crummy bundle of toxic masculinity whose perky nipples have harassed me on screen long enough. It's time to STOP. Go to therapy. Please?
RE Village: I think everyone should take turns in there. Not because I hate any of them but because I want to see the ensuing chaos unleashed down there uwu
Aaand we're done, tènkius so much for the ask, I've had a lot of fun with this one (despite taking an hour to come up with an answer that wasn't just copy-pasting Sturm and the Merchant for every category fjfhhf) and ofc if any of y'all is a RE fan you're more than welcome to come here and roast me for my life choices djfbdhfb <3c

Hi there Flexible Fennec Fox Anon! 😊
Hey! Don't be worrying! It's only through practice that you learn your limits! I have learnt that I can do most likely five/six one shots/chapters a month. Any more than that and I am really stretching and stressing myself! It takes just will power to not try to do more 😂
Some under the cut just for length!
Thanks for the ask! ✨

Everything But Name - Chapter 41 - [Shino x Tenten]
Tenten sat down at the girl's usual table in the tea shop before slamming her head down upon it.
"What's wrong with you?" Sakura asked, sounding amused.
"I think I messed up last night, you guys," Tenten quickly cut off Ino's excited gasp. "No, me and Shino haven't gone anywhere close to doing it yet," she looked up to glare at the blonde. "And stop asking that, you perv!"
"Well, you gotta admit!" Ino shrugged, not looking apologetic at all. "Between the four of us, you are the most likely to lose it first, and I want all the gossip when it happens, and aren't you two like engaged or something?"
Her anger made her hive buzz so loudly that if any Aburame host were in the room, they would have heard it.
"We are not engaged! Why does everyone keep asking that?"
"You two have been inseparable for what like three years now?" Sakura suggested making Ino nod.
"Not to mention he's crazy about you," Ino added, making the pink-haired girl nod this time. “I'm surprised he hasn't popped the question already.”
This was hitting too close to home.
"Look, just forget it," Tenten snatched up her tea. "Can we just talk about something else, please?"
Tenten always enjoyed her tea breaks with the girls but not being able to hide from her stupidity even for a moment made her feel even worse; she couldn't even escape Hinata chasing her down when she tried to make a break for it after they were finished and heading their separate ways.
"Wa-wait! Tenten, please wait!" Tenten stopped and spun on the spot, almost making Hinata fall over.
"What is it, Hinata? I'm not in the mood, okay?"
"Can we-can we talk?"
Tenten took a second to calm both herself and her hive. "Yeah, sure, okay."
Hinata gently pulled on her hand as if she was as physically misplaced as she felt to sit them both under a close-by tree. The cool grass did feel nice under her fingers, at least.
"Did-did something happen between you and Shino? Last night I me-mean?"
Tenten sighed before telling her everything about what happened the night before, from Shino telling her about his conversation with Lee to him jumping out the window and not coming home.
"He was upset."
Tenten bit her lip to stop a rather rude reply about already knowing that part.
"He was upset you thought it was funny; the idea that you two would ma-marry, I mean."
"Hinata," she cut off her annoyance by shoving the heels of her hands into her eyes and forcing herself to take a deep lungful of the crisp night air. "I'm sorry, but I think you're way off the mark here. I think he's annoyed that I, even as a joke, suggested it in the first place."
The younger girl poked her fingers together in what must have been thought and a little bit of digging of self-confidence because she leaned forward, giving Tenten nowhere to hide and asked.
"Do-do you do not want to marry him?"
Tenten would be lying if she hadn't thought about it, dreamed about it, wanted him by her side forever, missed him terribly when he was gone, trusted him with everything-
"What I want doesn't matter," she stated in anger. Her hive buzzed angrily in disagreement, but the hive ignored them. "The thing that everyone seems to forget is that Shino is the heir to one of Konohagakure's four great ninja families. So as much as the Aburame's welcomed me in when I got my hive, I don't think the same rules apply when it comes to the future heads of their clan. I'm a clanless orphan, Hinata; people need to start remembering that."
"Tenten-"
Hinata tried to argue, but Tenten looked her dead in the eye.
"If you brought home a clanless ninja with no parents as your fiancé to your father, say, Lee, for example, would he accept him no questions asked?"
She saw the Hyuga raise her hands to poke her first two fingers together with a defeated look on her face.
"No, of course, he wouldn't."
Tenten sighed; she was taking out her anger on the innocent girl because she had no other outlet.
"I know you mean well, Hinata, but we-" Tenten blinked angrily, feeling tears want to form. "-I have to face facts here. If Shino went home with me as his fiancée, he would lose everything, and I will not do that to him," she blinked angrily again. "What I feel doesn't matter."
"So you do," Hinata sounded strangely hopeful, or maybe that was her wants shining through the voice of the other. "Want to marry Shi-Shino I me-mean."
Her dreary feelings made her hive hum sadly in response, making Tenten feel worse.
"It doesn't matter, Hinata now drop it."

Tumblr media
As Jaemin walked to his car to drive to school, he spotted you walking out of your door with a textbook in hand. He raised his hand, his mouth opening to call out your name when the scene from that night flashed through his mind. He sighed at the thought as he watch you walk to the bus stop without sparing a glance in his direction.
'Is she really that upset? It was just an old music box, after all.' Jaemin thought as he got into his car and turned his keys. 'She's just being petty, I bet if I offer her a ride to school. She's gonna go back to square one. Typical y/n," he smiled to himself, remembering the times where you two had arguments and one of the two of you would apologize when Jaemin offered you a ride.
Jaemin drove to catch up with you before you reach the stop, to his surprise, he saw Huang Renjun walking up to you with a bright smile, slinging an arm over your shoulders. Jaemin's blood ran cold at the sight of you smiling and rolling your eyes at the boy.
Jaemin forgot Renjun lived a few houses away from them, then again, he hasn't talked to Renjun much since Renjun left the team to join the arts club. 'What am I doing?' he thought to himself, running a hand through his hair as he let out a heavy sigh, his eyes never leaving the road as he drove by your laughing figures.
'This is what I wanted right? For once I don't have y/n constantly asking bout me or flirting with me or clinging onto me all the time. I should be happy that she finally got it to her head' he told himself. If that's so, why does he feel so empty? Why does he feel like something's missing deep inside of him.
Once he got to the school, he walked to his lockers only to be greeted by Donghyuck, who ran up and slung an arm around his neck. "If it isn't Mr. Na Jaemin." Donghyuck greeted with a cheeky grin as Jaemin smiled in response. "Good morning to you, too, Hyuck." he chuckled.
"I haven't seen you in a while," Hyuck clicked his tongue nonchalantly as they walked side by side, his arm hanging on one of Jaemin's shoulders. "Well if only your boyfriend didn't graduate early, I wouldn't be spending all my time with Coach." Jaemin laughed.
"As much as I am happy that Mark graduated early, I still can't believe he left me to rot here alone with nobody to talk to." he pouted, scrunching his face dramatically. "You're talking to me, though." Jaemin teased. "Exactly, you're a nobody, Mister Na." he deadpanned in response.
Jaemin playfully shoved the boy away from him, eliciting a laugh from the both of them as they walked to Jaemin's locker, spotting Jeno running through his own. "Good morning, Jeno." Jaemin smiled, unlocking his locker beside him.
"Did you two know we had homework on Biology?" Jeno exclaimed frantically, trying to find his textbook. "The one that's worth 5% of our grade? Yep," Hyuck responded with a bright nod. "Fuck, I'm definitely failing this class." Jeno groaned, running a hair through his black hair before shutting his locker.
Jaemin chuckled at his friend's misfortune, shaking his head with a soft "tsk tsk". "Oh lookie here, your future wife is heading this way, Nana." Hyuck teased, using the nickname you had made for him back when you two were 12 years old. "Get ready to feel single, Jeno." he added.
Jeno pointed an accusatory finger at the younger boy, "Hey! Mark graduated, you're gonna feel lonely with me, this time!" making Hyuck stick out his tongue. They were both too busy quarreling to acknowledge Jaemin's empty expression as she passed by them without your usual friendly 'hey'.
But they were shocked to see you walking side by side with your friends, your hand inside Renjun's. "Uh, Jaemin, y/n's right there." Hyuck nudged the boy beside him with his elbow. Jaemin looks up from his gaze at your hand inside Renjun's as you disappeared in the crowd of students.
"What? So?" Jaemin retorted almost defensively, eyes looking everywhere except for his friend who was staring at him in disbelief. "What do you mean 'so' ?! Your girlfriend just walked by without sparing a glance at us! Plus she was holding hands with Renjun," Hyuck exclaimed in disbelief.
"For the billionth time, Hyuck. She's not my girlfriend!" Jaemin spat, annoyance laced in his tone. Hyuck rolled his eyes, "whatever she is, she's holding hands with another guy, dude!" he shot back. Jeno sighed, putting a hand on Hyuck's shoulder, giving him a look of disappointment.
"They had a little fight the other day," Jeno explained briefly. "And she's being petty by giving me the silent treatment," Jaemin growled, shutting his locker and leaning his back against it with a click of his tongue. "What did you do this time?" Hyuck sighed, his expression lightening at the new information.
"Why do you always assume that I'm the one in the wrong?" Jaemin exclaimed, laying a hand on his chest, offended at the accusation. Jeno raised a brow as if to say 'really?', Hyuck giving him a similar look that mirrors Jeno's. Jaemin looks down in guilt, a frown evident on his face as he bit his lip to explain.
"It's not a big deal really. I just told her to leave me along once and for all," Jaemin shrugged as if it was no big deal, looking back at the crowded hall of students. "Not a big deal, my ass. Bro, you also broke her music box without an apology." Jeno stated with a roll of his eyes.
Hyuck's face contorted into a surprised frown, his mouth gaped. "Dude, that's a little harsh, don't you think? She must be genuinely upset to be giving you the silent treatment." Hyuck remarked, his eyes wide in disbelief. "Well at least Jaemin won't be complaining bout her annoying him all the time now that she's ghosting him, right Jae?" Jeno raised a brow at the younger boy.
Jaemin wasn't listening to anything they were saying as his eyes couldn't tear away from the two figures that were you and Renjun talking side by side as you grabbed your stationary from your locker. He felt his chest tightening, aching with a numb pain. What's going on? Why is he feeling this way?
"Jaemin?" Jeno's voice snapped Jaemin back into reality, his eyes widening slightly at the concerned tone as he diverted his gaze back to his friends. "Huh, what?" Jaemin mumbled, trying to ignore the numbing ache in his chest. "You okay?" he asked.
"I don't know, I kinda don't feel well, right now." Jaemin's brows furrowed as he watch you and Renjun walk to class side by side. at the corner of his eye. "We have a few minutes to class, you should go to the Nurse's office." Hyuck advised as he raised his brow in concern.
"Um, alright then," Jaemin nodded, "see you guys later." he waved to his friends before walking to the nurse's office with confusion. What's up with him? He was fine this morning, what's with the sudden pain in his chest?
Unbeknownst to him, his two friends were watching him walking away with concern looks on their faces. "So, I wasn't the only one who saw how sad he looks when he watched Y/n and Renjun right?" Hyuck muttered to Jeno, who nodded in agreement. "That dumbass is gonna have the tables turned, I just wonder what he's gonna do once he realizes that a human heart can't pratically live without the love of his soulmate." Jeno chuckled.
Tumblr media
Jaemin was scrolling through social media when you entered the class, his eyes wandered up for a small moment to give you a short glance, examining your figure standing on the doorway as if you haven't been attending the same class for three years.
His eyes quickly went down to his phone when he saw your head turn to his direction, walking right towards him. 'Of course, she's still gonna sit next to me.' he chuckled internally to himself, 'that's typical of her.' he thought.
He felt your presence close to his when you passed by him to sit at the empty seat at the back of the class. He frowned slightly, quickly masking it with a stoick expression as he hears the not so subtle chatters and whispers of his name and y/n's spilling from his classmates' mouth.
"Wait, y/n's not sitting next to Jaemin?"
"Did they have a fight or something?"
"Come to think of it, she skipped class with Renjun yesterday"
"Did she finally had enough?"
"Probably. Poor girl has been at it for two years!"
"Yikes, that's pretty harsh. No wonder she didn't even spare him a glance"
"Have you seen her left wrist? They say-"
"Good morning, class!" Mrs. Choi announced with a bright voice as she entered the class, silencing the whole students in a second. "Let's start today's lesson shall we? Open your textbooks to page 127," she smiled, raising her own copy of the textbook.
Jaemin turned his head to see you busy with opening your textbook and notes, flipping your pen in between your fingers. He quickly turned his head around as the teacher started explaining, opening his own textbook with a small pout on his face.
'Why didn't you come and sit next to him?' he pondered as he tried to advert his eyes to the whiteboard, watching you from the corner of his eye. A part of him wanted you to at least glance at him, make eye contact, anything.
But you didn't. Not even for a split second, it was as if you couldn't see him. As if you two hadn't known each other your whole lives. As if you were both strangers. Jaemin felt a slight ache in his chest, his hand stretching out to lay right on top of his heart.
He took a deep breath, his heart beat in his ears as Mrs. Choi's voice became muffled. It hurt. He doesn't know why, but his chest was hurting and he wants it to stop. It was similar to the pain when he lost on his first game and had an F on Chemistry on the same day. Yet, it was so different. It felt like his chest was actually being poked with tiny needles.
In a blink of an eye, the sound of the bell dismissing entered his ears, snapping him out of his thoughts as the pain subsided. Jaemin turned to see the students around him packing up and leaving class, causing him to jolt up and shove his textbook in his bag.
He felt y/n squeeze herself behind him, quickly leaving the class. Jaemin didn't know why but his feet quickly moved towards her, slinging his halfly zipped bag over his shoulder. His mouth opened as he reached the entrance, ready to call out your name.
His figure froze when he watched you walk up to none other than Huang Renjun. Jaemin's eyes watched as his arm slung around your shoulders, the sweet smile on your face as Renjun whispered something against your ear, eliciting a small laugh from you as the two of you walked to the exit.
Jaemin stared at the two of you with a blank expression. His pupils shaking upon your figures being pressed up against each other. His hand gripping the saddle of his bag that was slung over his shoulder tightly. He wanted to apologize for his actions and offer you a ride home, but his body wouldn't move when he caught Renjun's arm slung over your shoulder so casually.
So affectionately.
Jaemin broke his glare when he felt a slight burning sensation on his wrist. He jolted and hissed at the sharp pain as he pulled back his left sleeve, tugging down the watch to see his soulmate tattoo glowing a dimly blood red, his chest had an ugly feeling piercing his heart.
Jaemin clicked his tongue before heading to the bathroom. His wrist felt like it was burning, it felt scorching hot. Why was it burning? Jaemin acted on instinct and ran his wrist under the tap of cold running water, ignoring his underclassmen passing by and greeting him as they walked out of the boy's bathroom.
Jaemin rubbed the sore spot, his mind remembering the way Renjun's arm slung over your shoulder, laughing alongside you. And your smile. He doesn't remember the last time you smiled that wide for him, Jaemin hissed at the increasing pain on his wrist.
Jaemin winced and jolted as he felt as if something was stabbing him repeatedly in the chest, he slide down the walls of the now empty bathroom. He took silent deep breaths to try to calm himself, running a hand through his hair in distress.
What's going on?
Tumblr media
"Day 3 of Huang Renjun being extra nice to the poor girl who's bout to be single for the rest of her life, what will he do today?" you spoke in a way a news reporter would, holding your fist up to your mouth to act as a microphone as you walked towards Renjun who was waiting for you outside of class.
"Shut up, you're saying that I can't be nice to my dearest best friend?" Renjun teased, slinging an arm around your shoulder as you both walked out of the entrance. "Its definitely abnormal to see you restraining yourself to not flick me on the forehead whenever I do something stupid." you shrugged.
You felt the boy flick your forehead gently, causing you to let out a small yelp. "Happy?" Renjun smiled sweetly, as your hand went up to rub the slightly sore spot on your forehead. "Very," you rolled your eyes at him as he let's out a light chuckle.
At the corner of Renjun's eye, he saw Jaemin not far behind you two. His head was looking down at his wrist, his hand tugging down the sleeves. Renjun assumed he was taking a look at his soulmate mark, a frown evident on the younger boy's face.
Renjun almost felt bad. Jaemin seemed like a lost puppy, standing all by himself as students walked away. But yet again, he felt anger towards the boy to be so immature as to hurt someone he was suppose to cherish with all his life.
"So how was being in class with Mr. Heart breaker?" Renjun spoke after a moment of silence, averting his eyes back to you. You gasped at the nickname, "don't say it like that! You're making it seem as if he was some sort of school fuckboy." you scolded, landing a smack square on his chest.
Renjun laughed before you spoke in a quiet tone, "alot of people were talking bout us when I entered the class without screaming his name and clinging onto him like a koala," you shrugged casually. "He's probably upset even more now that people are talking bout how distant I've been towards him," you added with a heavy sigh.
Renjun patted your head softly, nodding in sympathy. "It'll all blow over soon. After all, you were always dramatic with your actions when it comes to Jaemin." he chuckled as you both entered the ice cream shop, walking up to the counter. "Shut up, Huang." you mumbled with a pout.
"Welcome to Weishen Ice Cream Shop, how may I help you two, today?" the cashier smiled as he came up to the counter, wiping his hand on a wet rag. You recognize him as Qian Kun, he would always give you free ice cream whenever you're down in the dumps.
"Hey Kun," you smiled as Renjun pulled out his wallet behind you. "Y/n, Renjun, pleasure to see you as always." Kun nodded with a charming smile as you started placing your orders, paying for your own ice cream after a brief argument bout who's paying.
"How's Jaemin? I haven't seen him around recently," Kun asked as he scoops up the ice-cream into the neon yellow cup. You tensed at the name, recalling Jaemin's words that night. You muster up a small smile, ignoring Renjun's concerned gaze as you reply.
"He's fine. Haven't seen him in a while either." you shrugged as Kun handed you your ice-cream. "Well, if you see him, tell him to come by. I missed that guy," Kun said with a soft pause in between sentences, sensing the tension in the air once he brought up the teenage boy.
"Shameless self advertising again, old man?" Renjun chuckled as he grabs a spoon off the counter. Kun blinked, pointing the metal ice cream scoop dramatically at Renjun, "Who are you calling old man? I just gave you cheap ice cream and this is how you treat me, Renjun? You should respect your elders, you brat." he jokes.
You giggled as Renjun stuck his tongue out at the older man, you pulled him away before Kun could jump over the counter and start whacking him with the ice cream scoop. "You're so immature sometimes," you laughed as you sat down on one of the booths by the windowsill.
Renjun rolled his eyes with a soft smile, shoving his ice-cream into your mouth to prevent anymore insults from spilling out of your mouth. Unbeknownst to the  two of you, Lee Donghyuck and Lee Jeno were walking side by side to go to an arcade, spotting you and Renjun from across the street through the window.
“Jeno!” Donghyuck halted his movements once his eyes adverted to your laughing figures. “What?” Jeno asked, halting beside the younger boy to turn to see where Donghyuck was pointing at. “Look! Is that who I think it is?” Hyuck exclaimed as Jeno’s eye caught you and Renjun sitting infront of each other in that old ice cream shop, watching as Renjun flicked you on the forehead with a laugh, watching a pout form oon your expression.
“Is that Renjun? And Y/n” Jeno asked, squinting his eyes to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. “It looks like they’re on some kind of date,” he added as Hyuck clicked his tongue. “I knew they were close but i didn’t think they were this close,” Hyuck gaped, watching as the two of you continued on with your conversation without a bother in the world.
“Do you think they’re-” he asked, only to be cut off. “No, that’s not possible.” Jeno spoke rather abruptly, his mind flashing back to his best friend. “The soulmate system allows you to have romantic feelings only towards the person you’re bonded with.” he added with a serious tone. Hyuck rolled his eyes at his statement.
“Then what do you call that dense best friend of yours?” he asked, raising a brow at him. “For all the years I’ve known him, he doesn’t seem to show the slightest care for the poor girl, she has the right to feel loved too, you know. Even when it’s from someone else,” Hyuck snapped.
Hyuck cares bout you. He really does. Not because you always lend him homework answers and notes when he asked, not because of the many talks you two had whenever he had some problems with Mark, but because you were like the sister he never had. Seeing the pain in your eyes whenever Jaemin turns you down was a painful sight to see, he wants you to be happy.
“Hyuck, Jaemin cares bout her deep down. I know he does. He’s just too stubborn to admit it. I’ve known Jaemin longer than you have, he does like her, trust me. He’s just to stupid to realize.” Jeno sighed, shaking his head profusely at the thought of his best friend. Deep down, Jeno wasn’t even sure what he said was true. He’s heard of the controversial rumour surrounding the soulmate system.
That when the system is rigged, people can have feelings for others that they can’t have. Those whose feelings are reciprocated by someone that aren’t their soulmates were just a sign of God attempting to fix the mistake. No one knows what would happen to those whose feelings aren’t reciprocated. Rumors said that there was a possibility that they vanish into thin air out of despair and heartbreak, some say they were doomed to live the rest of their life feeling loveless.
Others say they consult into more...
Terrifying inhumane methods.
Jeno shuddered at the thought, shaking his head to shake away the horrifying thoughts of what would come to Jaemin and Y/N if this keeps happening. He didn’t want to know what was going to happen if this keeps happening.
“I just hope you’re right, Jen.”

This was meant to be a future chapter for "Follow His Footsteps" but the scene wouldn't leave my brain so now you guys can have it and I can finally get it out of my head. I'll probably have to something a little differently for this planned scene, rip.
////
"Just this once," Cross said. He wouldn't do this again. He wouldn't let his guard down again - he couldn't. If only for himself, he couldn't afford to let his guard down more than once. He had to stay on track, he had to stay focused, he had to be cold and distant at all times...
But just this once. Just this one time, he could afford to let his guard down, right?
"Just this once," Killer agreed with a nod, something almost sly in his empty gaze. They both knew he didn't truly believe that and was just going along with it - he had every intention to get Cross to drop his guard again, regardless if Cross wanted to or not. Cross should care, he should withdraw or be annoyed. He should keep his guard up. But he was tired. So, so very tired. So, this time, only this time, he would let it go. But he would never do it again, no matter how much it hurt or how much it killed him inside. Just this once.
Cross stares at Killer for a moment, cautiously. A part of him still didn't want to let go - he had built this mask up for so long and he'd forgotten what he was like underneath. It almost scared him, not knowing who he was anymore. He'd been a different person in X-Tales and had worn a mask ever since he'd destroyed his home. To let go now, even if only for a short while, was terrifying. It was a vulnerability he hadn't allowed himself in so long. He could still put his mask back on after this, right? He could still pretend, right? Killer wouldn't... try to draw him out again, right? (He knows he would.)
Something in Cross snaps, strained and tired from the pressure of holding himself together for so long now, and that's all it takes. He ducks his skull, wrapping his arms around Killer in a loose hug. Cross drops his skull onto Killer's chest, his arms tightening until he's almost crushing Killer in his grasp. Killer, for once in his life, is silent as he wraps his own arms around Cross, returning the hug. Unlike Cross, Killer doesn't hesitate in holding him tightly, as if he's afraid that if he doesn't, Cross will run from him again. Something about the action, something about the unspoken intentions and feelings that lay underneath causes Cross to shake. He has to physically restrain himself from crying. He knows what he is and he knows what he does. Not just to Killer, but to the Dust and Horror too. Even to Nightmare and Error. He knows how he worries them, how he brushes off their concern so easily that it makes them frustrated to the point they feel angry and helpless. How they look out for him all the time and just want him to let them in - something Cross can't afford to do. Something Cross is too scared to allow, in his current situation. Because letting them in means getting more attached, means putting them in even more pain when he leaves. It means it'll hurt them further.
Just like Killer is hurt now, because of him. Cross hates the feeling of helplessness he feels, the frustration at not being able to help further, the guilt and the pain, and the worry and fear of losing Killer. He hates how he knows that they feel like this about him on a daily basis. But like he's done for so long, he doesn't allow himself to lament on his own mistakes or shortcomings - instead lashing out at the one before him.
"Dammit, Killer! You almost died, you idiot!" Cross snaps, glaring at the injured skeleton with unshed tears in his sockets. For a second, Killer seems almost surprised but then his signature grin stretches over his skull.
"Yeh, but I didn't," Killer states it like it's some obvious fact he's proud of, when he should be more concerned with the fact that he nearly died and still isn't completely in the clear yet. Until they find a way back to the castle, Killer's still very much at risk. Especially since Cross' makeshift first aid wouldn't do much more than support Killer's injuries until they could get proper help.
"That doesn't make it any better," Cross whines, almost childishly. Oddly enough, Killer's casualness helps to keep the tears at bay. If he can still do that much, then it's possible it's not affecting him as much as Cross had originally feared. It's something he has to chance to bounce back from like usual.
"Sure it does," Killer chirps and looks at him teasingly. "Ya worried anyway?" The question takes Cross aback, because of course he is. It had been his fault Killer was injured to begin with. He got hurt protecting Cross while he was stupidly distracted by something or the other. Despite how much Cross tried to deny it, tried to refuse the feelings, he cared about Killer - about all of the bad Sanses, even though he couldn't afford to. He's discovered he's absolutely terrible at remaining detached when put in front of skeletons hellbent on caring for him - even though he didn't need the care or the worry.
"I... of course I am. You... you're hurt and it's my fault. You could have died and it would have been my fault," Cross mumbled sadly, the tears finally spilling out of his sockets. They dropped down onto Killer's shirt, soaked up by the fabric.
"Hey. Hey. Don't say shit like that, makes you seem like you really care underneath all that bravado," Killer chuckled. Cross gripped him tighter for a second, remembering himself. Killer was right. Even if Cross decided to let his guard down for a bit, he still shouldn't say stuff like that. He couldn't take it back. Killer seemed to notice the change, quickly speaking up again.
"In all seriousness... don't worry 'bout it. I ain't going anywhere. Think you can get rid of me that easily?" Killer seemed amused by the thought that anyone could even consider the thought of it. As if he were immortal. He wasn't. He was strong but even he could die. Not to say that it was easy to kill him - Killer was like a parasite with a grudge, hellbent on taking everyone down with him.
"No..." Cross sighed and Killer's smug grin sharpened. Cross just sighed, burying his skull in Killer's chest and simply soaking in the fact that Killer was alive and allowing himself to be relieved at the fact instead of pushing it away. He'd gotten him out in time. He'd been there. They've avoided the worst case scenario. Killer was alive and they still had a chance out of this.
"...do you want me gone?" Killer's voice is quiet, far quieter he's ever heard it, and Cross can just barely pick up on the insecurity hidden within it. His skull snaps up, more from the tone than the actual question itself. Killer is supposed to be annoyingly confident, not sad or insecure.
"No!" Cross denies immediately, surprised and more than willing to fight Killer on this if he has to. There's the slightest shift to Killer's expression and a tenseness to his body that Cross isn't familiar with. To his surprise, at his words, Killer's expression returns to normal and he relaxes slightly, pulling Cross closer to him minutely.
"Then it's all good, yeh? Besides, I'm getting a voluntary hug from the solitary soldier himself, so it wasn't all for nothing. Heh," Killer chuckles, and Cross glares at him for it. He has half a mind to ignore Killer entirely. His inability to shut up ruins everything.
But then the smile drops off Killer's face again and Cross finds himself unable to keep the glare up, instead watching Killer in concern.
"Just this once... tell me something, Criss-Cross," Killer's voice is quiet and soft that it doesn't even sound like his voice anymore. Cross isn't used to this vulnerability and it's beginning to send him into a panic. He doesn't know how to deal with stuff like this anymore. He hasn't dealt with stuff like this - even for himself, that he doesn't know what to do. "Do ya care at all? Would you... be better off without me?"
Everything about that question was wrong, especially coming from Killer. From secure, overconfident, stupid Killer. And it hurt. Crap, it hurts and this is exactly what Cross was trying to avoid. He didn't want to hurt and he certainly didn't want any of the Bad Sans to hurt because of him. Apparently, he'd failed both points, because Cross cared so damn much that it hurts. He didn't want to lose Killer. He couldn't stand the thought of it, let alone bear the pain that would come from it. He'd lose whatever sanity he had left if he lost one of them, he just didn't want to admit it. That is, he didn't want to admit until Killer asked. Because now Cross was willing to, if it meant that Killer would just stay.
"I don't wanna lose you. So don't go, Killer," The tears spilled out of his sockets, as he whispered, "You've gotta... You've gotta stay with me, okay? D-don't leave me." Killer held him tighter, as if afraid to let him go and Cross clutched onto him for dear life, afraid to ever leave this moment.
///
I don't own any characters. This is meant purely platonically but I guess you can see it as Kross if you want to. But yeah, this is meant to be brotherly, with Cross being super afraid to open up and finally taking one of the first steps to. I wrote this instead of writing the next chapter but since this isn't a major delay, I think I can get away with it.

A Rose with The Thorns - Ch.1.
Tumblr media
If you think you're having a hard time right at the moment, remember that Nina has only 2 days left until the first Math exam, and she didn't even open the books, and she doesn't know Maths. Okay she does know, but she's too lazy to practice. Nothing seems to motivate her to study, but she clearly has to if she doesn't want to fail the first exam of the first year at the university.
That would be quite embarassing for such a smart girl.
"This is so exhausting" she puts her pen aside and leans forward to rest her head on her arms. Sighing loudly, she closes her eyes and makes herself comfortable on one of the library chairs.
"Come on dude, we have just two more lessons to practice. I don't want us to fail this. People would think we got in here through some connections" Laura, Nina's best friend, gently shakes her hand in order for Nina to sit up.
And so she does.
"But I can't anymore. I feel like my brain is going to explode" Nina whines, lazily lifting up her head. The redness in her eyes and tired look on the face were clearly telling that she didn't get enough sleep last night.
She felt like she might just collapse right there how tired and exhausted she actually was. "If I were you, I wouldn't go to sleep at 3am and get up at 7am to go to the college. You have to sleep, you dummy" Laura turns some pages in her book.
"That's the problem. It's not that I'm going to sleep late. I fucking go to sleep at 10:30pm"
"Then where's the problem?"
"I couldn't get a proper sleep these past few nights because Yeonjun plays games all damn night and the sounds are just too loud and disturbing" she sighs.
"Why don't you go then and ask him nicely to stop because someone wants to sleep?"
"He hates me Laura. I literally feel that he hates me. It's not that I did something bad to him, I did not. He just doesn't talk to me at all, like I don't live with them"
"Did you tell Soobin?" Laura asks, looking at her friend.
"No. But I will. Let's get this done. I want to go home and sleep" Nina turns some pages as well and both of them start studying again.
They've been in the school library for the whole afternoon, trying to study for the exam. It's been a really hard afternoon for Nina, but she managed to push through it. She honestly hopes that something was placed in her brain and that she didn's sit there for nothing.
Once she comes home, she goes straight to her room, saying quick Hello to Taehyun, Beomgyu and Hueningkai who were playing Halli Galli in the kitchen. "Are you cheating again? I knew it!" Taehyun yells at Kai and seconds later, loud laughs filled the whole house.
Nina smiles to herself as she closes the door of her room. She quickly grabs her sweats and clear underwear, then heads to the bathroom to take a shower.
Humming a song to herself, she walks to the bathroom and gently knocks on the door in case that someone is inside. Voices from the kitchen are still loud and she smiles to herself again, knowing how much fun they have and how much annoyed Taehyun must be because Kai is constantly cheating.
As soon as she knocked on the door again, they slowly opened revealing shirtless Yeonjun, wiping his navy blue hair in a towel, while wearing only his grey sweatpants. Her eyes widened a bit as she quickly turns her back to him and covers her eyes.
She hears soft chuckle from him and waits for his next move. "You never saw a shirtless man? Jeez" he simply states passing by her, gently rubbing his shoulder against her while doing so. She doesn't say a word, but slowly moves her hands from her eyes and watches his back while he goes to his room which was next to her.
She quickly goes in the bathroom and closes the door even faster, not wanting anyone to see the redness in her cheeks, even tho there was no one around her at that moment. She was so startled to see him that her heart skipped a beat. 'Damn' she thinks to herself while letting out a breath she didn't even know she was holding in.
"That was first time he actually spoke to me since I came here, and it wasn't just 'Hello', wow" she quietly says holding her hand over her chest.
She's not sure why she reacted the way she did. Maybe it was because he hasn't been hanging out with her at all like the others did, or maybe because he was completly ignoring her, or maybe...
No.
Soobin says 'No liking, no dating'.
She can't like, nor date any of the boys. She would be in quite a trouble if she starts to like any of them. She was just startled that he spoke to her at all.
Not thinking much about that anymore, she goes to take a shower. The warm water relaxes her muscles and makes her a bit more tired than she already was, but that actually helps her. She's gonna fall asleep much faster.
Soft music plays in the background as she wipes the soap off her body with water. She sings to herself quietly as she walks out of the shower and wraps her body in a big, white towel. She brushes her teeth, then puts on her underwear and sweats. She puts on a simple white T-shirt, then goes out of the bathroom and into the kitchen to drink some water.
Boys were still playing a game, Taehyun was beyond annoyed with Kai, but he didn't bother too much. "I'm going to kill you if you cheat one more time" he looks at Kai with deadly look in his eyes, and Kai just laughs. "I won't cheat anymore hyung, I promise" his promise wasn't sincere at all, and Nina laughs at them, sitting next to Beomgyu once she fills her glass with water.
"This game looks quite fun, you have to teach me how to play it" she says, looking at Beomgyu's cards.
She didn't understand a thing, but it was interesting to watch them for some time.
"Where's Soobin?" she asks after some time.
"At gym. He'll probably be home soon" Beomgyu says, focusing on his cards.
"He started going to gym? When?"
"On Monday I think" Taehyun says.
"No wonder he's not home in the evening these days" Nina drinks some water.
***
Soft knocks on the door of Nina's bedroom make her lift her head and look at the door. "Come" she says, and moment later, Soobin enters her room.
"Hey" she smiles, standing up to hug him. "What are you doing?" he asks, wraping his hands around her back as she hugs him tightly. "Trying to study a bit more before I go to sleep again" she moves away from him.
"Oh, I get it" he sits on the crook of her bed.
For the first time after she came here, he was able to see her bedroom properly. Everything was in grey-white vibe, with some purple and blue things placed nicely on some of the shelves. He notices her plushies neatly arranged on a large shelf next to her bed.
Everything was so neat, and so perfect.
"What did you need me for?"
"Oh, I was wondering if you'd like to come with me and the boys to a party at one of the frat houses"
Nina's eyes were gently widened as she turned her full attention to him.
"Uhm, I'm not sure Soobs. I have to study for this exam"
"Come on, it's just one party. You've been closed here since you came and I feel so bad that I didn't take you to any of the parties I was at, and I know how much you like to party. Please" he pout and looks at her, knowing she's weak on that face and unable to say no to him.
After some silence, she scoffs and gives up. "Ughh okay, give me half an hour to get ready"
Soobin happily jumps and hugs her tightly, lifting her in the air. "Okay, be quick, we'll be waiting downstairs"
He rushes out of the room so she could get ready.
Nina closes her books and laptop, then quickly opens her wardrobe to find something nice to wear. She didn't want to complicate, so she went with a sparkly grey top and baby blue ripped jeans.
She puts a light make-up and puts her white Puma's on. She quickly grabs her purse and fills it with woman things she needs.
She brushes her hair and looks one last time at herself in the mirror before heading out of the bedroom to meet Soobin and the boys.
Little did she know that all of them, including Yeonjun were waiting for her. Once she comes to the living room, all of them look at her and her eyes immediatelly land on Yeonjun, who quickly checks her up and down.
"Wow, you're so pretty" Beomgyu comments, looking at her.
She tries not to be too much shocked as she smiles and thanks him.
Once they all sit in the car, she tries not to check on all of them and how hot they actually looked in their outfits.
Especially him.
'This is going to be a tough night' she thinks to herself as they drive off to the party.
Heyyyy guuuyssss, here's the first chapter for yall, I hope you like it🥰🥰🥰

Chapter 3- Dragon vs. Phoenix Part 2:
Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh!: Renegade:
"I summon Amazoness Chain Master to the field, which increases my Amazoness Sage's attack points to 3800 due to the effect of United We Stand. Now, I attack you directly with Amazoness Sage! Amazoness Sage, time to end this!"
"I activate the Trap Card: Mirror Cylinder! This handy little trap takes your attack and directs it back at you, destroying all your monsters along the way and inflicting damage equal to the combined attack points! Say goodbye to 6800 of your Life Points, Yuko!" Yuko cried out as she was thrown backward by the force of the attack, hitting the ground hard with a groan.
"Yuko!" Her friends cried simultaneously.
"She's only got 1000 Life Points left!" Jacob yelled with wide eyes.
"I can't watch this!" Isaac added, covering his eyes.
"Have more faith in her. She may have lost a good chunk of her Life Points, but this isn't over." Pops told them. "All she has to do is believe in her deck."
Yuko Adonis: 1000            Cornelius Yang: 2600
“How does it feel, Yuko? How does it feel to be on the brink of losing?” Yang taunted.
“This duel isn’t over yet. You still have 1000 of my Life Points to knock out, and I don’t plan on letting you do it... You're just lucky I can't do anything more right now. I end my turn.” Yuko replied. With a smirk, Yang drew.
“Either way, it's my turn now! I summon Protector With Eyes of Blue. I may not have the Blue Eyes White Dragon in my deck, but with 800 attack points, that's not gonna stop me from bringing you to my mercy! Protector With Eyes of Blue, attack Yuko directly!" Yuko grunted in pain as she was attacked, taking 800 points of damage. Yang laughed.
"You have 200 Life Points left, Yuko! Use your next turn wisely! If you don't draw a monster now, this duel is over on my next turn! I end my turn for now." Yang smirked as he ended his turn.
Yuko Adonis: 200 Cornelius Yang: 2600
"Don't count me out just yet, Yang! My turn!" Yuko shouted, grabbing the top card of her deck with her eyes closed. 'It all comes down to this one last draw.... Heart of the Cards, don't fail me now!' Yuko thought. "I draw!" She drew the card and opened her eyes, flipping the card so it's face was toward her. She cracked a smile.
"Uh-oh, she smiled!" One of Yang's friends shouted.
"What's she plannin'?!" A second one asked, sounding a little panicked.
"You're about to find out... I summon Blazing Phoenix in attack mode!" Yuko summoned the card currently in her hand, hearing her friends cheer. It wasn't that strong of a monster, only having 1500 attack points, but it was still a good card. "And because I was able to summon it, I now get to special summon a level 4 monster from my deck, and the card I choose is my Phoenix Warrior!"
"Yang, this ain't looking too good!" The third one shouted.
"Shut up, I can see that!" Yang shouted back in reply.
"Yeah, well I bet you never saw this coming! My Phoenix Warrior has a special ability that allows me to Special Summon one more monster from my deck to the field as long as the monster I choose has 1500 defense points or less, so say hello to Flame Champion! But sadly, my Phoenix Warrior and Blazing Phoenix won't be around for long, because now I'm tuning my Phoenix Warrior with my Blazing Phoenix..."
"OH, NO!" Yang yelled in fear.
"Here it comes!" Jacob exclaimed in excitement.
"I Synchro Summon... Phoenix Mage!" Yuko shouted as her ace appeared on the field, spinning her staff and striking a battle pose, a smirk on her face. "But, I'm far from done... See, due to my Blazing Phoenix's special ability, my Phoenix Mage gets a 500 attack bonus this turn only. Not only that, but due to my Phoenix Mage's ability, all Fire Type monsters I have on my side of the field gain an additional 500 attack points. Which means my Flame Champion now has 2400 attack points while my Phoenix Mage has..."
"3500 attack points?!" Yang shrieked.
"That's right!" Yuko exclaimed. "Flame Champion, take out his Protector With Eyes of Blue first with Flame Strike!" Flame Champion obeyed Yuko's order, attacking Yang's only monster left. Yang's face went pale, realizing he had only 1000 Life Points left, and a 3500 attack point monster was staring right at him. "Let this be a lesson, Yang, next time you wanna push around little kids on my turf, you're gonna pay the price! Phoenix Mage, finish him off with Phoenix Scepter Blast!" Phoenix Mage smirked before attacking Yang directly, knocking him backwards with a strong blow, his Life Points hitting zero as he landed.
Yuko Adonis: 200 Cornelius Yang: 0
"Yuko won! She won!" Her friends cheered, whooping and hollering as Yuko walked toward Yang, who was in a state of shock.
"I lost.... How could I lose?" Yang trailed off.
"Good game. You had me on the ropes for a while there, but I hope you learned your lesson... Don't ever mess with anyone around here ever again." Yuko told him sternly. "Now get off my turf before I kick your butt again." The boys went running, all except Yang.
"Hang on a second, you may have won by the skin of your teeth, but a deal's a deal. You get to keep my rarest card." Yang told her, taking out a Synchro Monster from his deck, handing it to Yuko. Yuko's eyes widened a bit when she saw it before looking at Yang.
"How did you get this?" Yuko asked.
"My grandfather was one of the original Chasers... He was the one who got Akiza. Black Rose was passed down to my Dad and then it was passed down to me when I joined the Chasers..."
"So, hunting down duelists runs in the family?" Yuko asked, bitterness in the edge of her tone.
"Hey, it's not like that, Chasers have no choice but to listen to him now... Ever since one of the Chasers spared the sister of a duelist from the Underground around 11 years ago, he's been making death threats to any Chaser that shows mercy to a duelist... Especially their family." Yang told her. "See you next time, Yuko... I'll be waiting for our rematch." Yang told her before walking off, leaving the teenager standing still, in shock of what she had been informed of.
"You won, Yuko!" Jacob exclaimed.
"Congratulations, Yuko." Pops smiled.
"Yeah, but look what he had." Yuko showed them the card Yang had given her... Black Rose Dragon. Everyone's jaws dropped in shock except Pops, who's eyes widened in a shocked recognition.
"That's Akiza Izinski's ace!" Adom exclaimed, voicing Pops' thoughts.
"Holy crud..." Isaac trailed off.
"They got her too..." Jacob breathed, running a hand through his hair.
"Were you really expecting her to get away?" Adom asked.
"No, I wasn't, I just... I'd hoped that there was a possible way that she could have gotten away." Jacob answered, shifting a bit sheepishly as he spoke.
"That accounts for every Signer being caught... Except Leo and Luna." Yuko realized.
"No, Luna was caught... Wasn't she?" Jacob asked.
"No... It couldn't be... Luna had to have escaped..." Pops trailed off, though he didn't look too convinced of it himself.
"We'll figure that out later, right now, we have that little kid to worry about." Yuko answered before leading the way back into the shop and down the stairs, Adom being the one to help Pops down the stairs. "Holden, it's safe now, you guys can come out." Yuko called for the young boy. Holden peeked out from a well hidden area of the garage, the little girl waddling right behind him as he ran up to Yuko.
"Are they gone? Did you kick their butts?" Holden asked as Jacob leaned against the wall and Pops, Adom and Isaac all sat down in a chair. Yuko nodded.
"They're gone, kiddo. I beat their leader in a duel, and look what I won." Yuko showed him the Black Rose Dragon, the boy's eyes lighting up in wonder as Yuko noticed the little girl come out slightly to look at the dragon card, seeming just as amazed as Holden.
"Wow, it's so beautiful... I hope we can see her in action someday." Holden told her. Yuko smiled.
"One day, you will, I promise...." Yuko told the little boy before putting Black Rose Dragon in her deck and ruffling Holden's hair. "Now, how about this one? Do we know her name?" She asked, kneeling down to the little one's height, only for the little girl to hide behind Holden again. Holdeen shook his head, his hair swaying back and forth with the quick motion.
"I've tried asking her, and she hasn't answered me.... She just keeps making these weird hand motions and tapping her lips." Holden answered, his little shoulders going up and then back down again in a hopeless shrug, though Jacob straightened when he heard Holden's answer.
"Hand motions?" Jacob asked.
"JSL?" Adom guessed.
"That's possible." Yuko replied before looking at the little girl, who was busy trying to hide behind Holden. Yuko smiled. "Can you hear my voice?" Yuko asked as she signed her words in JSL, thankful of the times her foster mother had made her perfect the sign language. Everyone watched as the little girl peeked out from behind Holden, staying hidden while her big brown eyes stayed trained on Yuko. Yuko smiled a little. The little girl was coming out of her shell a little. "You don't have to be afraid of me, I won't hurt you, I promise." Yuko signed each word she said. "My name's Yuko. Is it okay if I know your name?" The little girl came out just enough to show her hands.
'"My name is Alita."' The little one signed. Yuko smiled.
"That's a very pretty name, Alita. Can you hear my voice at all?" Yuko signed as she asked, her compliment making the little girl blush. In response, the little one nodded.
' "My voice just doesn't work, so I can't talk." ' Alita signed in response.
"That explains why she was using sign language." Adom replied, having known enough JSL to know what Alita had just said. "Her vocal chords must have been damaged when she was a baby."
"Poor thing." Pops commented before everybody froze when Alita winced, grabbing her arm. Yuko gently touched the little one's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Yuko signed as she talked again. Alita's eyes were filled with tears of pain and she shook her head, pointing to her arm. Yuko noticed that it was a prosthetic arm... But it was extremely damaged to the point where it was giving off electric currents every few minutes and hurting the little girl. "Is it okay if I take a look at it?" Yuko asked, watching as Alita's eyes widened in fear as she hid behind Holden again, shaking. Holden looked up at Yuko worriedly, his little brow furrowed. He looked as worried about Alita as Yuko was currently feeling. Yuko placed a comforting hand on Holden's head before taking her glove off her left arm.
"Yuko, what're you doing?" Isaac asked, but found himself ignored by the young woman, watching as the little girl peeked out to look at Yuko. Her eyes stayed wide, however, the fear that had previously been in them was long gone. Amazement shone through as Alita reached her flesh hand toward Yuko's robotic one before she hesitated, looking at Yuko for permission as her little eyebrows furrowed. Yuko nodded.
"It's okay, Alita. You can touch it if you want." She told her. Alita's little hand soon touched Yuko's robotic one, following each gear and crevice as she seemed to be memorizing the pattern on Yuko's prosthetic hand. Yuko smiled, knowing that this had been what the little girl needed to be at ease... To know someone was just like her... "Alita." Yuko directed the little girl's attention to her after a moment. "Is it okay if I look at your prosthetic arm now? I can fix it if you want me to." She asked. The little girl froze for a second before shaking off her fear and nodding, a brave look on the little one's face. Yuko smiled before she looked at Holden. "Can you go get my tools for me?" Yuko asked. Holden nodded and raced upstairs with Isaac and Jacob following him to help him get the toolbox down. Meanwhile, Yuko got Alita comfortable, using her robotic arm to scan Alita's prosthetic to see what the problem was.
"What's going on with her arm?" Adom asked her, Pops keeping the little one entertained.
"Well, you remember that network Dracnus connected the DracTech prosthetics to in order to keep tabs on everyone in Cypher City? There's a part in each of them that allows an electric current to kick in everytime Dracnus wants to deal that person punishment." Yuko told him.
"I thought Dracnus couldn't do that to our prosthetics from down here, the signal can't reach Underground City." Adom replied.
"You're right, it can't... But for some reason, that part in Alita's is broken so that the electric current goes off every few minutes. It's not a strong enough charge to stop her heart, mind you, but it is strong enough to hurt her." Yuko responded as Holden came back with her tools. "I'm going to fix it so it stops hurting her altogether." Holden put her tools next to her.
"Here you go." Holden told her.
"Thanks, little man. You're the best." Yuko smiled, ruffling his hair again.
"Holden, where the heck are Isaac and Jacob?" Adom asked.
"After they helped me get Yuko's toolbox down, they went into the shop to "hold the fort down".... Whatever that means." Adom answered, using air quotes and causing Yuko to have to hold back her giggles. There was something about the look on the six-year-old's face as he used air quotes that struck Yuko as absolutely hilarious. After a deep breath to still her laughter, Yuko focused on fixing the part on Alita's arm that was bothering her, speaking to Alita to keep her distracted from what was going on.
"Alita, how old are you?" Yuko asked. The little girl held up her flesh hand, showing four fingers. "Four?" Alita nodded in confirmation. "That's super cool."
"Yeah, you're like... One year away from being old enough to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels for the first time. It's super scary at first, but I promise it's a ton of fun once you get the hang of it." Holden excitedly told Alita, a smile crossing the girl's face. Yuko chuckled a bit and let Holden tell Alita all the perks of being 5 years old while Yuko fixed Alita's robotic arm.
A few hours later, Yuko was looking over the blueprints of the Phoenix Whirlwind's original designs as she waited for the diagnostics to finish. 'How can I rebuild this so it's my own?' She thought, her arms crossed over her chest. She tapped her foot a couple times before glancing over at the pullout bed. Fast asleep, with her robotic arm fixed and her tummy full of good food, was Alita. A small smile crossed Yuko's face before a soft beeping indicated that the diagnostics were finished. Her brow furrowed and her smile dropped when she saw just how much damage had been done. 'I was afraid this was gonna happen, those stupid Chasers made sure Jack could never duel again on this thing.... Hell, would Yusei even know how to fix this?' She thought with an eyebrow raised before setting to work. After a while, her vision got blurry from looking at the blueprints too long, causing a frustrated sigh to leave Yuko's lips as she closed down the screen and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Pops was right, I really oughta get more sleep..." Yuko trailed off under her breath, though it pained her a bit to admit it. She slipped off her boots, sliding into bed as an exhausted sigh left her lips. Her emerald flecked sapphire eyes drooped, her hair falling in her face like a curtain as her eyes finally closed. 'I'll jump on repairs early tomorrow... For now, though, Pops is right. I need rest....'
While she slept, Yuko was unaware of the chaos that was about to unfold... Unaware of the growing threat on the surface...
