lmao Ive been working on writing a fantasy series and I have this character who’s nothing like me BUT i did give him my bucket list for motivation, and a little angst. Like, he has a learning disability so he flunked out of his magician apprentencship and his biggest dream is to be able to travel the world. I refuse to look in a mirror BUT i can acknowledge why i get misty eyed writing him. just patting him and myself on the shoulder like , ‘aw. its okay buddy. Youll get there’

I’m back with more slightly disturbing thoughts about transformers.

Ok listen.

I think cybertronians should be more freaked out by the fact humans eat other living things.

Like come on, bots only ingest energon which is inanimate crystal juice, they’re regularly grossed out by normal organic functions, and you’re telling me they don’t bat at eye at the idea of their friendly little Sentient companions straight up killing other animals and eating them??? I feel like that should def cause more cognitive dissonance for them, esp autobots since they actually get close to humans.

Like I can see them being grossed out but accepting of the fact that wild animals eat each other- they are WILD animals and all, not exactly sentient or even necessarily intelligent after all. But HUMANS? The organic creatures that are the closest to them (going by tfp standards where they don’t mention many other organic species) in terms of structure and emotion and intelligence?? That has to be concerning on some level to them.

Referencing tfp and MTMTE where they have scraplets and sparkeaters, i feel like that’s what they’d kind of associate it with which would freak them out more. God forbid they hear about how common cannibalism is in survival situations, I don’t even know if they’d be able to sympathize the slightest bit with that considering as far as I know cannibalism Isn’t Really A Thing for them. That’s a thought in of itself tbh, would they be able to reckon with the concept of being so hungry you’d eat people you know, when it’s physically impossible for them to do that? How do you rationalize the choices others make in desperate situations when you know you’d never have to make that choice anyway and you’ll never have their perspective on it?

Anyways, I’m entertained by the idea of them being able to ignore stuff like nuggets or patties considering it doesn’t look recognizable as what it is but being downright repulsed by steaks, especially if its bloody or has bone visible. They don’t like the visual reminders of their sweet little organic friends consuming flesh and blood. Too freaky for them.

me after attempting to get back into sims and realizing i had a lot more to do than play the game

#hi everyone #I’m going around hugging you all #okay now that we are gathered here today #i will simply acknowledge that i have been gone for a very long time and then also acknowledge that maybe it was for the best #i relied on sims to be my only creative activity even if i tried to write a book at the same time #and also. i prioritized sims over real life responsibilities. that’s just a deadly combination lol #but I recently noticed I just replaced sims with Netflix. with YouTube. with anything that gave me quick dopamine #literally became addicted in a sense. still am but I’ve been cut cold turkey from most everything #I get off work and go. okay I’ve done the dishes and the laundry……..I could read or write or bake….#I try to write and sometimes i get a good hour #then I read for a few hours and then get tired of it #and I made cookies Tuesday so I’m waiting for those to be gone before baking again #I’m just so pitiful that I feel BORED and don’t know what to do #so I said….. okay what if I do sims for an hour.#I downloaded some new cc Tuesday and tried to play yesterday #y’all ……………….. I can’t find the energy anymore to set up elaborate scenes and pose my sims and plan posts #I said wow… this is boring without my intervention and fake story #I said wow…….. all this for what? for tumblr? yes I created cool things and provided joy. but is that inherintly important compared to my #own joy? my own everyday activities I should be doing?#y’all I do not leave the house unless we got out to eat or shop or travel to our parents #.. I have little desire to. I’m trying to find that desire #but my husband is busy with grad school and work and I don’t want to do anything by myself #I’ve found myself in one heck of a slump #I didn’t want to be human for awhile. just had no desires no interests no ambitions #I was slacking off SO HARD at work. I just had no drive to do well #I’m still working on it. I’m still trying to get caught up. I’m still trying to force myself to move every day.#but I am struggling y’all. and I can tell you that sims… sims isn’t helping rn but I want it to so bad. I want to get back into it #I didn’t mean to disappear on everyone. I got married and then life got busy and then I fell into this hole of nothing #I didn’t even WANT to crawl my way out. but my husband has helped a lot. I swear to fucking—this duel is tormenting me. Outline and all, I have been writing on this thing for a month. I'm officially shaming myself for stuffing a duel with too many plot-relevant elements, character moments, and card game actions. Somebody put a dunce hat on me.(Or pat me on the head and tell me to keep going, I am s t r u g g l i n g.)

Like. Don't get me wrong. Would I rather be doing anything else than this? No. Am I still acutely frustrated with how hard it is to juggle several structural writing threads at the same time, while weaving them together to form something coherent? YES.

bones have been washed with hand soap and water. not a whole lot of degreasing to do since they’re pretty old and a lot of it has been done by nature already but they could definitely use some. gotta find a container to put them in and i will start degreasing 👍

#still don’t know what animal they’re from #looking a little more closely at the inside of the bones i’m less confident that it’s a mammal? idk the difference between bird and mammal #bone lattice structures but yeah i’m a little less confident about it being a mammal now #they do seem kinda big for a chicken though. we do have wild turkeys around here but the bones seem a little small in that regard #and they almost NEVER come up and wander around neighborhoods like where i found the bones #i’ll have to check if the vulture culture subreddit is still up and running bc i feel like they’re my best bet for id at this point #gonna wait until the bones are dry tho i didn’t feel like drying them with a towel lmao #(normally you would just go straight to degreasing but these had obviously been there for a while and were covered in dirt so i just wanted #to wash most of the mud and shit off of them before i start degreasing)#rambles

literally got SO worked up about the idea of a wildlife biology internship IN my state that i fucking forgot i’m getting top surgery

#was literally over here trying to decide whether or not i could justify COMPLETELY screwing over my coworkers #literal heel turn of the century to go and band some turkeys #and then i remembered.#i am. having surgery.#i will not be able to move for like a week #this is NOT the summer for banding turkeys #but perhaps next summer!#because it pays better than my fuckin job lol #and it’s WAY more relevant to my desired career path #this was already my plan but it’s exciting to know i’ll likely have more options than i thought!#bc this is the first year they’re doing this so next year should be even more robust hopefully #and then i’ll have the experience i need to 1) apply for grad school and 2) get the Florida job i want in 2026 #long term plans babey! gotta love em!

getting reblogged by @one-time-i-dreamt wasn't a lie (post here) but according to an anonymous tumblr user who sent multiple asks to different people, the ask and the og post are both scams.

reverse image searching the images in the post reblogged by one-time-i-dreamt makes clearer even that was a scam. doing that, i found these: links to the first and third images

the second image was harder to parse for but if you want to look through the guardian's now-closed, old live blog of the turkey and syria earthquakes, go ahead.

there was also a video added to the og post that's also likely to be stolen from a different source, but i think the pictures are enough proof. if anyone wants to search for the source of the og video, please do.

it's awful that some people are stooping so low as to try to profit off of a real tragedy that's killed so many people and has ruined so many others' lives. it's also awful that some people have actually fallen for this.
