#I think posting someone else's art they did for me#To the same audience with all the same tags and thematic matter#And having their art get way more interaction than mine is the final straw to make me give up on art#I don't get any joy out of it#I don't find catharsis out of it anymore#I used to do art because it was like spewing my innermost workings on a page and saying to the world 'this is how I feel'#There was something very vulnerable with sharing that with people but#I wanted to make people understand what's in my head#A cry for help if you will#Or more like a cry for understanding#And it feels so hollow when people who get plenty of interaction say 'oh if you're upset by no interaction#Then you're doing it for the wrong reasons etc etc'#And for one it's easy to say when your stuff DOES get plenty of interaction#But for two as a teenager I was viral on deviantart. Thousands of followers and multiple daily deviations#Before I even turned 18#I literally grew up and am conditioned to thrive on external validation and I just don't get that anymore#Ever since I deleted my deviantart in 2014 because my abuser was literally using it to stalk me I haven't been able to hold an audience#I threw it all away and now I can't get it back. Not here not twit not insta not anywhere#So I'm giving up. That's it that's all. Not like anybody gives a shit anyways#It kind of feels like ripping out a piece of your soul#Putting it on display and then having no one care#I'm tired of destroying myself just to be ignored over and over again#I really did peak when I was 17 didn't I

(And NEVER took an art class. That’s fucking what- 💀 I need to take one I actually need to at this point-)
Also also also- I’ve learned a lot of things! Anatomy, exaggerative expression, stretchy cartooniness, ALL OF THESE ARE JUST- I can’t believe I’ve learned all this because one day I decided: “Maybe I should ACTUALLY get a social media for my art? 🤔” AND I DID IT AND CHANGED MY LIFE‼️‼️‼️

sharpe interesting to me for reasons that I can't even tell are actually in the show or not... it is partially that I got introduced to the land parts of the various napoleonic goings-on in a sort of Archaeological context to start out with, so when I'm watching these guys cross back and forth across spain, losing items and burying friends and enemies as they go, I do keep thinking of hundreds of years in the future and where those things will be. lost shako badges and stray bullets will turn up eventually. wooden grave markers will rot. names will be forgotten and skeletons will remain, buried on a hilltop and maybe someday found. time passes and the dusty weight of history is a very present thing.
#em is posting about sharpe#or it is to me! pointing and shouting pepe silvia style to ask if anyone else is seeing this!!#most historical fiction does not do this to me but sharpe does for some reason#maybe it's that most war fiction I like is maritime and here we're standing our way through funeral after funeral and death after death#and they put them in the ground! and I know a little bit more about how the ground keeps someone than how the sea doesn't!#this is also about the antoine faveau cuirass and that in mental comparison to h&h at waterloo#this is a show that devotes a significant amount of time to what you do with your dead (in my personal opinion anyway!)#and h&h do not and will not get that. and I make sad little whimpery noises and possibly some sad art about it.#all the revenge in the world doesn't let you get them back! and the likelihood of there being time to sort through and set them aside is#not really a lot at all!#and it all doesn't mean much and the world doesn't remember them and no one knows their names or what they did#augh. HEY HOMIES !!!
Here’s the big baddie 😮💨 my final for Digital Illustration I ! I was so excited to do this assignment when I first heard about it in Week 1, I had kinda planned from the start for it to be an Aiah and Polor piece since I can’t get their dynamic outta my head. Came back to an old rendering style I haven’t touched in ages and really tried to push the color palette this time around (I learned about gradient maps ! They’re super cool !!) In the end, I think there’s a lot about it I wouldn’t change at all. This is honestly one of my best pieces if I’d have to judge, haha.
I’m super pleased with the finished version even though it drained every ounce of my life force <3 I now vanish to pursue more back-breaking projects

Hey anyone wanna see some of my old splatoon miiverse art.
Most of these were drawn for splatfests so they make more sense in that context lol. Like the venusaur was for the pokemon Red vs Blue splatfest.
#Homestly I forget that I drew a lot on miiverse and put probably too much time into my drawings#all of the pixel shading on these is hand drawn in case you dont know how miiverse drawing worked lol#it was fun and rewarding took literal hours so figured I’d post some of these here to see if people like and/or recognize them#also there was no zooming in at all so had to do everything in a tiny square on the wiiu gamepad. honestly a nightmare#i know someone somewhere on youtube did like a splatoon miiverse meme compilation and had a bunch of art with credit to the original artists#but then they put in the ‘IM STUCK BETWEEN FORMS’ comic as a JOKE at the END of the video and DIDNT CREDIT ME AT ALL#like you credited EVERYONE ELSE you seriously couldnt put my name on it :(#i forget the video and forgot to ask them to put credit but it haunts me to this day#also fun fact about the past vs future splatfest art. My internet cut out when i was trying to post it so I couldnt actually POST it#which is devastating on miiverse b/c you cant save drawings. its all one and done baby.#so i had spent like hours drawing this bitch and then i was stuck for a couple more hours freaking out and keeping my wiiu awake#while waiting for the internet to come back on. i was so upset lol.#in hindsight the coincidence of the technical difficulty was hilarious#i think out of all of these the venusaur took the longest? there was a looot of shading required to make the fade look right#uhh what do i tag this as#miiverse#myart#splatoon#damn just realized i probably drew these back in like 2015. wow#about like 8 years ago goddamn

I struggle with drawing, I can't seem to visualize what I want to make, and I can never seem to flow with it like other people can.
I still like it!! It's very fun whenever I do draw! I mainly draw my persona, because that's easy for me. My little frog is something that I have quite a lot of fun drawing! I do feel a bit bad I can't seem to get anything else super well, but I also haven't been practicing.
Anyway, this was a very long winded way to say I did a draw!!
I was in the mood to just doodle, but I didn't know what to draw! So I turned to my frog and my interests as of late! I've been wickedly addicted to space for the past few weeks! I downloaded 16 astronaut skins on Minecraft and just gave them all different names and personalities. And I've been staring at my little alien project.
Blah blah space infodump, blah blah deep meaningful drawing meaning, blah blah bedtime. Hehehe!!

Rehearsals have started for the production of CATS at Teatro Sistina in Italy, starting 07 December 2022, an officially licensed non-replica from RUG.
The designs are interesting in that they have reference sheets for both the makeup and costume.

#It has been a good year for me and CATS#I luckily got to see the last cast three times and the current cast (only) once#An interesting breakdown here#I would have thought I created more posts but 36% is much higher than the 3% last year!#Plus I reblogged from myself a fair amount which lessens those numbers compared to making a new post altogether#Jellylorum being the top character tag is actually a bit surprising to me#But good for me for pulling that off#Poor Jenny was in enough posts#I had completely forgotten about that top post but that is fun to see#Aside from myself being in the top 5 (I would not thought I counted towards that) the reblogged blogs the list is not surprising at all#And that longest tag! I’m less likely to like and reblog the art of artists I actually follow
People are more likely to like and reblog art I reblogged from someone else and not my own original art I posted even though they follow me (This is not accusatory I am just noticing it because I do it too)
I’m not a clever man but I’m going to try to wrap my head around this

Instead of working on literally anything else that I’m supposed to be working on, I’m editing my old, headcanon-filled “rewrite” fic, Phantom! Chapter 1 up now!
