Cod boys seeing their artist male readers art when they get back from a mission and they are just relaxing and they decided to ask him to see his art book since they never saw it and male reader says yes and they look through it and Is shocked how nale reader makes things so realistic.
It's... Beautiful Y/n...
Hello @gamersansblog ! I am SO SO SORRY this took so long!
I hope you enjoy it!

°
If there was anything that was needed after a tense mission, it was relaxation. When the boys got back from dealing with another terrorist, Laswell gave them so well needed time off and they used every second of it. Not only that, but a good friend of theirs also swing by as well.
Y/n was seen quite frequently at the 141's base, so just about everyone knew him.
Y/n was an artist who liked to sketch around their base sometimes.
The man loved making realistic drawings of them if he had the chance. Usually after 141 returned from their missions the man would be waiting there, doodling in his sketchbook. The others were quite interested to see it the first time they caught on to him being around and Y/n was more than happy to show them.
Inside, there were multiple pictures. Different mediums used, charcoal, pastel, water color, even some good ole' oil paintings. The man was very deserve in his style so he usually had a different instrument when he swung by.
Today, Y/n said he wanted to draw Price, the others a tad bit jealous that their Captain got the lucky honor of being Y/n's model but went with it nonetheless.
While Price finished the last of the paperwork he had, Y/n sat there on his couch sketching away with his graphite pencils he brought today. Though most would find the sound annoying, Price found it comforting as he heard Y/n's pencil rub against the multi-media paper. He could hear the difference between each stroke. Light and Hard.
He couldn't help but chuckle when he also looked up to see the others watching the man from behind as the man drew their Captain.
"Don't you boys have 'ork to do?" He hummed as he went back to doing his own.
"I don't mind them, Captain. After all, they were curious to see just how I manage to make it so realistic," Y/n chuckled to himself.
Price looked up and saw Ghost staring in awe at the paper, eyes widened at the probably nearly finished masterpiece. Gaz and Soap did the same as they watched over Y/n's shoulder, taking in each movement the man made as he worked.
It must have at least an hour that passed or so before the Captain heard Y/n's sketching come to a stop when hearing the "oos' and "aahs" of his men.
"Jesus Y/n, tha's amazing..." Soap said as he gazed at the photo.
"Agreed Johnny..." Ghost complimented as well baffled by the amount of detail that went into the sketch.
"Captain...you gotta' come see this, sir...it's.. it looks just like you," Gaz spoke as he looked upon the breathtaking piece.
"Guys please, your over exaggerating..." Y/n smiled up at them before walking over to the man.
Y/n turned the sketchbook towards the man slowly, smiling as he watched the man's eyes light up.
Price looked up to him, eyes full of curiosity making the artist chuckle again.
"That's...that's bloody beautiful Y/n... think I may frame it in 'ere."
"Thank you..." and he meant it.
"No problem, Captain..."

23rd Feb '24 - [arch] OH RISO my beloved!!!!!! ft. cyberpunk hermitcraft soup group
A cliffhanger!!!! And now I have to wait a month for you to upload the second half?? How will I cope :’’0
For real, it’s so awesome to see your process and the sheer amount of inspiration you take! In particular, I thought ‘Sit on Two Chairs’ and ‘This Was Our Pact’ were particularly yummy.
I think book covers are really hard. You have to sum up a book’s energy in one image, make it stand out and show just enough so people want more. Exploring the narrative through those full pages is really interesting - though this is something you did for fun, it could be a really useful technique for getting to know a narrative. When I’m designing my comic covers, I always do it last - that way I’ve had practice with the visual style and I’m thoroughly familiar with the themes, so I guess spending a bit of time with the characters and narrative in this way helps for standalone book covers too. Of course, it helps if you have the time for that XD
Okay!! Onto what I've been up to!!! [warning this is a beefy post I'm sorry for your poor reading brain]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The past two weeks have been really enjoyable! I’ve been playing a lot with slow world-building, in sketchbooks, google documents, and voice notes to friends. Letting myself really sit with concepts, think about the characters, let them play in my head with no expectations. With this relaxation and lack of pressure, some beautiful narratives and interactions have been developing. I’m starting to need a name for a world/ the story. I’m not quite ready to give them a full introduction to the internet - I know it doesn’t but it feels like there’s some accountability to *produce something* and this slow development is really important for the quality and my skill building. It’s really hard to take on, but we actually don’t have to make the perfect thing now! In fact, it’s impossible. Pressure on ourselves makes it so hard to make something good if we’re always grasping at the final result.  In the meantime, while those characters develop, I have been working hard on my basic skills. I wrote about characterization last post, but this week I focused on setting and colour. I was inspired (once again) by Hermitcraft. I’ve seen some really incredible illustrations of Minecraft builds in the fandom, and it seems like a great exercise.

Bdouble0's Season 10 Base illustrated by @applestruda [source] and The Red Zone, built and illustrated by Bdouble0 [source]
One of the creators on Hermitcraft, ImpulseSV, created this build in a recent episode. It takes inspiration from the last season of Hermitcraft, where he was part of the ‘soup group’ with two other players, and his current base concept - a cyberpunk city.  I also LOVE his new character design, so I wanted to place him in the scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Here are some initial thumbnails I did, trying to figure out the composition. I wasn’t sure of the vibe yet, so I tried some rough thumbnailing, and drawing on an isometric grid and other perspective techniques. I’m going a bit mad for characters at the mo, so I wanted to place some in the scene. I found the angle of the isometric grid steep to place characters comfortably, so decided against that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking back at it, I love the second! But I believe I was struggling with the perspective. I decided on the last one eventually.
Now, I absolutely adore all of the players in the Soup Group, and I am BIG fan of redesigning their notable characteristics to suit different settings. So yes, I decided to put all of the soup group in the image.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PearlescentMoon (left) from my comic and GeminiTay's Hermitcraft Season 10 design [from this thumbnail] (right)
Here's the sketch of the final image. I really enjoyed coming up with cyberpunk versions of them all. I used the impulse design almost exactly, with a few extra interesting details since he's mostly viewed from the back. For PearlescentMoon (middle) I kept her fringe, dark hair and gave her a glowing moon symbol on her top. For GeminiTay, I kept her long ginger hair, antlers (but glowing!) and took inspiration from her new season 10 design - a dark blue jumpsuit to match her dark blue clothes in her new design, and the braids she is often drawn with. I also gave them edgy new hairstyles. And a robot arm. I don't have lore for that.
As usual, I filled each flat colour-to-be with black and lowered the opacity to play with the values. Then I added colours one at a time, aware might be riso printing it. Originally I stuck to trying to make it printable (making the colours out of ones I could make my layering 2-3 colours at different opacities), but as I went on, I decided to drop that and focus on the quality of the image in a digital format alone. I did keep the grayscale version above with all the separate layers in case I needed that if/when I came to riso printing it. Below are the main two digital colour schemes I tried out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I settled on the one on the left, with the blue tones - the foreground characters really pop. I put a few details in Gem's hair, colour variations etc, and cropped it for Instagram. I actually much prefer the cropped version - it sits better in a rule of thirds.
Tumblr media
Now the moment we've all been waiting for :'')
RISO!!!!!!!!!!!
I returned to Cardiff after a couple of months away and was delighted to spend my first day back at The Printhaus, an awesome shared print studio where I have basically made my home. A few of my awesome friends happened to be there, so I spent the day playing around with this image with their help! (please check them out they're very cool - Gavin helped me a lot (we hung out at Thought Bubble, remember? and Rhi gave good crits too!!)
For those who don't know, risograph is basically a shitty photocopier that can only print one colour at a time. However, you can play with gradients and opacities, and layer colours really nicely to combine. I've done a lot of single-colour tonal work with riso but this is my first go really layering.
First, Gavin showed me how to separate the channels in Photoshop, using the flat image uploaded to the 'gram. We copied and pasted these layers in grayscale and added blending modes to each layer to replicate what they might look like when printed.
Tumblr media
With blending modes, the digital mockup looked like this!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This bit goes into technical details for replicating what the print might look like for those who might want it - feel free to skip :)))
I copied and pasted the Cyan, Black and Magenta layers as greyscale (as you can see above)
I made all of the greyscale layers multiply layers since risograph ink is transparent and we wanted to see how it layers. The ink usually comes out a bit lighter than you think, so it's good to bear that in mind. I used a clipping mask over each greyscale layer and a blending mode. WHEN YOU PRINT, PRINT IN GREYSCALE, NOT COLOUR.
Here's how I split the colours from CMYK to the riso colours, their hex codes and the blending mode I used to replicate the colours:
Cyan - Mint [HEX#82D8D5] Screen Magenta - Fluorescent Pink [HEX#FF48B0] Screen Black - Blue [HEX#0078BF] Overlay Yellow - scrapped for colour scheme purposes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blue, Mint and Florencent Pink layers in greyscale in Procreate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riso printed Mint and Florescent Pink layers on separate paper, followed by the two layered together.
We always start with the lighter colour inks first, because sometimes the rollers can pick up the ink and cause extra marks where you don't want them. The first two colours came out great!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time we printed the blue, it came out very dark (left, first image). I have had this issue before - my last book, Winter Wellbeing, came out much darker than I wanted. Now I realise that the blue ink is super sensitive. All the 'white space' that is covered by a low-opacity blue on the left is only 2%, and yet it has come out pretty strong. We tried printing it on one of the misaligned images just to see, but it took all of the brightness out of the neon soup sign at the top of the image (second image). So I changed the values and pushed them way lighter, so it just pushed the values of the darker bits slightly, and brightened some of the lineart (right, first image)
Tumblr media
And this is the final riso printed version!! I'm so so happy with how this came out. It's so different from the original digital version, and I actually love that.
I didn't create new colours in the way that I intended to - I wanted to play with overlaying purposefully to create specific colours eg. orange for the hair etc. But!!! I'm really happy with how it came out. That will have to be a project for next time.
Also, many copies are slightly misaligned, so in future I think I'd do flat layers for the colours a more blobby style with the linework on one layer only so there's less of a chance for obvious misalignment. design for the riso, rather than riso the design.
Overall though, this feels like a super cool step up and a milestone for me. Super happy with how it came out!! And I'm excited to play with colour some more. Can't wait to see the rest of the Lionheart brothers! Enjoy your weekend :)))

if I’ve already sent this ask before I’m so sorry, I’ve got adhd, but how did you find your art? (I’m in my questioning phase)
hihi!!! no problem! i think i have some kind of glitch with asks bc when i go look for them it says i have 3, but when i check it, there isn’t any so im sorry if any of u have ever sent asks and i havent answered them it’s probably bc of that😭
but anyways lets get on it!
finding you art style is not smth simple at ALL. ive been drawing my entire life!!! and ive had a bunch of different styles until now, they kinda used to change every few months or so, i was always happy with them but it never really lasted??? and i always had at least one part of the process of it to dread doing, for example, coloring.
it wasn’t until recently i FINALLLYYY found a style im 100% comfortable in.
it really takes experimenting and finding what elements of creating art you love and enjoy the most. for me, i used to mostly do traditional art, just pencil or ink sketching and i would OCCASIONALLY color them. so i really used to enjoy kinda the messiness of the pencil on trad mediums and stuff? and i never rlly found a way to translate that element to digital art which is the one i enjoy the most now.
brushes are very important! it depends on the look you like. since i like that pencil feel, i use a pencil looking brush! (softy from esbenlash’s procreate brush set) and i also got a paper feel screen protector for my ipad to enhance the experience🔥
i found i mostly enjoyed doing lineart and didnt rlly look forward to coloring, i didnt find my past styles enjoyable bc they kind of felt restricting in that area? since i didnt find a way to make it more abt the lineart and less abt coloring that i liked (ofc theres plenty! i just didnt find one for me)
so tbh i think what mostly influenced the style i enjoy the most now is film, and baroque art!
i had recently seen:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crimson Peak (2015)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Shape of Water (2017)
and ofc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stranger Things DUHHHHH
and i fell in love with the way the lightning was, heavy dark shadows and moody lights, and tried to match my style to it and found that it highlighted all the things i enjoy doing the most while drawing! so thats where i am now
special mention to the one movie im obsessed with currently
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Crow (1994)
also has the similar style
all that + experimenting, studying other’s art i liked and finding elements to integrate to my art, ANDDD music also played a huge part in it. so as you can see for me its about kind of combining aspects of every single piece of media i like 😭
its not gonna be the same for everyone, but its always good to have a guide so i hope this was useful for you and anyone else! im always willing answer any art questions :)
don’t worry too much about speeding up finding your style, it’ll come to you eventually, so focus on enjoying the moment and learning, take mental notes of what you like and don’t like!
sorry this is kinda long as hell… but i like rambling

Shoplifting Leads to Romance
Rohan Kishibe x artist!reader
Fluff, hurt/comfort
Tumblr media
Summary: Rohan has trouble making sense of how he feels about you, and ends up upsetting you in the process. Don't worry though, he's trying his best. Basically Rohan makes you sad then realizes he was an asshole.
It’s true that Rohan Kishibe is a skilled manga artist. His artistic prowess is something he’s gifted with and has honed to near perfection. Something he’s not so great with though, is people.
As an artist yourself, you've always admired Rohan’s talent. His work was an inspiration to you, so how amazing was it that you were now acquainted with him, and also receiving an internship?
After approaching the eccentric man, he agreed to take you in as an intern. He only did so because you helped him out when he was accused of shoplifting at the Kame-Yu department store that one time. Since you worked there, you saw who the real culprit was, and vouched for Rohan’s innocence on the matter.
Rohan appreciated the fact that you gave him his space and didn’t demand anything of him, even after recognizing who he was. He also appreciated the compliments you gave him on his work. The level of detail you went into intrigued him, such as noting the improvement of his art style over the years, or the technique he uses to study a spider's anatomy.
The two of you soon became more than mere acquaintances, with you coming over often to admire his process. Rohan actually enjoyed the time you spent for a while, until it began to gnaw at his mind. Lately, he found himself getting too distracted by you. He was thinking too much about you, even when you were gone. He found the whole thing to be rather infuriating.
Rohan surveyed you from across the desk, eyes intent on watching you sketch. He should be looking down at your paper, but instead he found himself unable to look away from your face.
You momentarily glanced up at him, and that alone was enough to drive him insane. He quickly tried to cover up the fact he had been staring at you. "Quit looking at me and focus on the paper," he scolded, as if he hadn’t been doing the exact same thing. As long as you were unaware of that though, it didn’t matter.
Returning your eyes to the paper, you continued the sketch without a word. Rohan on the other hand, couldn’t seem to shut up. "Now Y/n, you must be quicker with the sketch. Don't spend too much time on it. You still haven't managed to cut down the sketch time since the last attempt, don’t forget that."
"Sorry Rohan sensei, I'm really trying to-"
"Well you're not trying hard enough!" He suddenly snapped. The pencil in your hand slowly came to a stop. Looking down at the figure on the paper, you realized you were pressing down so hard with the tip of your pencil that it had made a small perforation on the eye of the drawing.
You lifted the pencil to brush off bits of eraser. "Hey, my wrist is starting to hurt a bit. Maybe we should take a break, and I could just watch you for now?" You suggested, and awaited his response.
You, watch him? With you watching him, he'd fumble over his pen. He would make a mistake somewhere from being too distracted by your presence, he knew it. He could feel the heat on his cheeks begin to radiate just at the thought of it. Knowing your eyes would be on him, his mind would wander off to nothing but the thought of what your lips might feel like against his. No, this simply could not continue. He couldn’t allow himself to further slip into this predicament.
“No, that isn’t what you’re here to do right now. Now take your pencil and paper back up, and start again,” Rohan ordered, resetting the timer on his desk.
You rubbed at your wrist, trying your best to brush off any soreness in your arm. The grooves of the pencil were practically engraved into your palm by now as you started up again when Rohan exclaimed, “Begin!”
You went as fast as you could to get the basic shapes down, and then the details. It was coming along well enough, and you thought maybe this time you’d actually get to-
The sound of a timer went off, and Rohan slammed his hand down onto the table. “Time’s up! Did you finish?”
You scrambled to keep the papers from falling. “No, I-”
“Then I don’t wanna see it!” With that, Rohan reached over to take the sheet of paper from your grasp, ripping it to shreds. That wasn't something you expected, so you weren’t sure how to react as the pieces of paper sailed down to the surface of the desk. You knew he could be intense, but was this really necessary?
Rohan crossed his arms. “Y/n, you are here to improve your art skills. You're nothing but an amateur, and at this rate you'll never be on my level if you keep slacking off. If you’re just going to waste my time, I suggest you take your things and leave.”
Hearing this out of nowhere confused you even more. If ripping your paper wasn’t enough, his words made your guts drop to the floor. Were you really doing that badly? Perhaps Rohan just wanted to be left alone. You thought he had been enjoying the time you spent together, but you were beginning to doubt that now. Then again, he never asked for you to come by. It was you that insisted, thinking he'd be fine with it. Turns out that wasn't that case.
You stood from your seat, grabbing your bag as well. Your throat suddenly felt dry, but you still managed to say something. "Okay then. Goodbye for now, Rohan Kishibe." You didn't even mean for the words to come out so cold and bitter, but they did. Rohan noticed this too, and he didn't know how to feel about it as he watched you walk out the door.
Well, it had to be for the better that you left, right? No use in staying if you weren’t cut out for it.
Looking down at the scraps of torn paper, Rohan thought perhaps he went a bit overboard. Gathering each piece, he assorted them together like a puzzle. Once each piece was in the right place, he didn’t expect to see his own face looking back at him. Well, it wasn’t completely realistic nor intact, but it was very much meant to be him. Was this why you kept looking at him, for artistic reference?
Rohan rested a hand against his chin as his eyes traveled across the image. “Hmm, this is actually quite good…” Observing the drawing, the guilt hit him like a big freight train. If that Tamami fellow was around, he’s sure that lock stand of his would be very effective on him right about now.
Well, it doesn't matter now. The important thing is that Rohan could finally resume his work, unbothered at last. Placing his pen down on the paper, he began his usual process. As the drawing progressed however, he noticed the image on the paper was starting to look a lot like you. He brushed the thought aside. No, it just happened to look like you. He continued to rapidly scribble across the paper, and when he was finally finished, the results horrified him.
Who was he kidding, it was you. Down to nearly every last detail, it was you. Any mole on your skin, any curve of your face, any direction of the way your hair swept, it was all you. Well, there was absolutely no denying it now. Rohan had fallen madly in love with you. “Great, just what I need…” he grumbled out.
Groaning in frustration, he set his pen down and turned back to your torn up drawing. He needed a break. He gathered the pieces of paper into a neat pile before leaving the room.
After that day, he didn’t see you for a while. He called you a few times, but you didn't answer. It had only been a couple of days, but still. He never even managed to catch sight of you around Morioh by chance. Despite that, he’s sure he’d get to see you today; for today you have a shift at Kame-Yu department store.
Walking into the vast space, he navigated the aisles until he caught sight of you. There you were, stocking items onto the shelves. Rohan clutched his bag and took a deep breath before approaching you. “Hello, Y/n. It’s uh, been a while.” He internally cursed himself for being so nervous in front of you.
The sound of his voice startled you a bit. You weren’t expecting Rohan to be here. Regardless of his presence, you resumed to pile items onto the shelves. “Hello Rohan. Yes, it has been a while,” was all you said. There was no warm smile like you usually gave him whenever you greeted him, nor a nod of recognition. Heck, you barely even looked at him, much to Rohan’s despair.
The main reason you were so upset over it was because Rohan’s opinion meant so much to you. You wanted his validation, his approval. Getting the exact opposite wasn’t exactly the motivation you were looking for. If anything, it made you want to take a break from art altogether. You knew it was stupid to care so much about what he thinks, but that’s romance for you. Utterly stupid.
Seeing as you made no further attempt to interact with him, Rohan struggled with what he should say next. “So…how’s that painting coming along?”
You knew the painting he spoke of. You had shown it to him about a week ago, before the last time you spoke. That same painting remained untouched on its easel, with not a single stroke of paint added onto it since then. “I haven’t really worked on it,” you responded, your attention still not fully on him.
“Why not?” Rohan knew why, but still asked nonetheless.
“I guess I kinda lost my motivation.” At last, you turned to properly face him. This actually made it all the worse for Rohan, because your dull expression pained him. “I am just an amateur who’ll never be on your level after all.”
The words he spoke to you days before flooded over him like a tsunami. He was a prisoner to his guilt, and he needed you to set him free. In order to gain this freedom though, he’d have to do something he rarely ever did.
“Y/n, I think some apologies are in order. My actions and what I said the other day...It was too harsh. I honestly do think you’re a talented artist. I just said all that because I wanted you to leave. You weren’t the one getting distracted, I was. All because you couldn’t leave my mind…and I just wanted that irritating feeling to go away!” he spoke the last bit in a frustrating tone.
Your unmoving face told him you were confused, so he elaborated. “But now I see that what I was feeling was attraction, and I should just accept it rather than push it away even if it bugs me.”
Although his explanation helped a bit, you were still unsure of what he was getting at. “What?” You questioned stupidly.
“Damnit Y/n, I like you!” He finally admitted, and it was then he took note of just how fast his heart was racing. If this was love, he detested the feeling. Why did it have to be so damn nerve-wracking? Rohan tried his best to disregard all of this. The only thing that mattered now was your response.
“Oh. Really? Well…I like you too,” your voice snapped him out of his worry.
Rohan was in a state of disbelief at first. “You do? Well, of course you do!” Rohan played off his relief with a shaky laugh and smirk. His smirk soon faded though, remembering he still had something to be sorry for. “And again, I apologize for my behavior. Your drawing, I truly am flattered by it. You have commendable talent. It’s very good.”
“Was very good,” you corrected, crossing your arms to emphasize you were still upset, regardless of the feelings you admitted for each other. At this, Rohan shuffled around in his bag, pulling something out and holding it up for you to see. You were a bit surprised to see it was the drawing you thought was ruined. It looked as good as new, no tape or glue anywhere in sight.
“But how…Is that really the one I made?” you asked, reaching out to take it from him.
“Yes, it is. I asked that punk Josuke to fix it with his stand.” Rohan very much disliked dealing with that boy, but he did it for you. He had to. “I hope you do forgive me, Y/n.”
You gave him a small smile in return. “I’m glad you apologized. I thought maybe I was just being too sensitive about the issue...” You mentally scolded yourself for not handling Rohan’s criticism well that day. The man was just doing his job after all, and you should’ve known what you’d be getting into when seeking his guidance.
Rohan looked away in shame upon recalling his behavior that day. He then walked over closer to you, clearing his throat. “No, you had every right to be upset. Even if it was criticism, there are better ways I could’ve handled it. So don’t go thinking you had any fault in the matter, understood?" He narrowed his eyes down at you.
"Yeah," you smiled, now relieved. His emerald eyes made you weak for a moment, but you felt more at ease now that everything was out and dealt with in the open.
In a similar way, Rohan felt his eyes soften when you looked at him the way you did. He wanted to experience more of that.
"If you’d like to come by my studio after your shift today, I’d gladly welcome you," he offered.
“Well then I gladly accept your invitation.” With that, you grabbed ahold of his collar to pull him down for a kiss. Rohan barely had any time to process it. All he knew was that he felt you put an arm around his waist, and that he finally got to know what your lips felt like against his. It was you who opened the door to this heavenly feeling, and it was wonderful.
Pulling away, you couldn’t stop grinning at the dumbstruck expression on the manga artist’s face. You felt like getting a pencil and paper out right then and there to capture the moment forever. Scratch that, pencil wouldn’t be enough, you’d need rouge watercolor to capture the color on his cheeks. Even when Rohan tried to compose himself and clear his throat, the heat on his face didn’t go away.
Rolling up the sheet of paper in your hand, you lightly hit Rohan on the head with it. “You can keep this at your place for now. I can’t exactly take it with me right now during work hours. But careful, don’t rip it again, or I’ll be sure to rip out your vital organs in return,” you joked. The fact that you threatened him with the sweetest smile made it all the more intimidating.
“Trust me, that won’t be a problem," Rohan said with a nervous laugh. "Well, I suppose I’ll be seeing you later. Until then, Y/n.” He quickly walked away, and you couldn’t help but let out a chuckle before resuming your work.
As he exited the store, Rohan felt like screaming out to the heavens. Once he was far enough away from people, he let out an almost maniacal laugh as he slumped against a wall. Wow, that really happened! He thought he'd only ever get to kiss you in his fantasies, or if he commanded you to do so with Heaven’s Door. But it did happen, and he was looking forward to doing it again and again.
After his little fit of giddy laughter, Rohan noticed a small box falling out of his bag. Picking it up, he realized it was a box of tea assortments, one of his favorites in fact. Where did that come from? The price tag on it told him it was from the department store. He didn’t even pay for it though, so how did-
Oh. Rohan recalled that you were stocking tea boxes onto the shelves. You must’ve sneaked a box into his bag when you were kissing him. The irony of it all made him smile. The great Rohan Kishibe would be wrongfully accused of shoplifting, yet again. One thing he did steal from that place though, was your heart.
Realizing how cheesy that line was, Rohan nearly threw up on his way home.

I've been rather busy with grad school projects lately (and it'll probably last a bit longer), but recently a friend surprised me with some gift art of my dnd lad and his own. Since the campaign has been put on hold (and also wanting to scribble another idea related to it), I had an itch to scratch.
This is a "what if" redesign of my boy, alongside some of my personal scribbles I've done of him over the past few months that I'm still fond of
So a bit of exposition!
I say "what if", 'cause Tint here is a special case where his design was intentionally left untouched, or well, intended to keep his outfit and general look the same as my art style matured. Reason why is that I wanted to keep it consistent with his ongoing campaign, and I found it fun to draw things as it developed. So any different takes of him I did (which there is at least one of, that being his Metronome look) was like an AU or was what actually part of the campaign, which you'll see with all the scribbles below.
Though the thing was that back then, I made Tint as more so a one-time, hypothetical character. At the time, I actually didn't think I'd ever get the chance to play dnd 'cause of constraints I had (how wrong I was). But hearing a couple of friends talk about how fun it was for them, I basically made him just to imagine that "what if" (just noticed that that first sketch was actually posted here, and yeah I even said it was a hypothetical on the canvas, hah).
Because of that though, I went for a rather basic design: purple tunic, round glasses, long scarf. Fun fact: foxfolk was picked mostly just because I was comfortable drawing it after scribbling Note and Clef so much (and magic seemed rather fitting for a fox given the ethereal side of folklore involving them). I still like him since I grew attached to playing him, don't get me wrong! But now that I know a good bit better on anatomy & character design, and Tint's story took shape, I figured it'd be fun to explore what he'd look like if I were to redesign him.
Tumblr media
As a tangent, gosh it's so surprising to me how my ability to do anatomy and structure on a character has grown in just the past couple of years. Not to say I dislike it, but I conditioned myself to only be capable of drawing that style consistently. I think I only could've had this growth because of the friends and inspirations I slowly learned from.
And yeah! There's a lot more intent on his palette being themed around light or radiance (and I've been informed it looks reminiscent to the colors on Isaac from Golden Sun, which is a funny coincidence), and hopefully he looks more adventurous yet studious type of mage!

you are such a good writer i am genuienly crying!!!!
ykykykykyk my bday is on the 20th december. ......
like if you have time.... maybe you could write a chaeyoung fic... maybeeee....
maybe something angsty + including them as art lovers... like chae using reader as a muse and her art gets sadder and sadder from time to time...
she fits the art trope so well ugh it hurts me, so here's my thoughts on this.
chaeyoung deserves the entire world btw
--
it all started with a stupid semester long project for your art class. you were late and the professor thought it was a good idea to pair you up with the last person you would ever want to be with.
most of the classmates were in awe that the professor thought it would be a challenging task to pair up you with chaeyoung as you two were the best and brightest in terms of the creative minds you and her shared.
what they didn’t know was that about thirty minutes prior, you and chaeyoung were in a complete accident out of nowhere that gave both of you guys a really bad first impression.
the project itself didn’t have to be started right away, you just continued to show your talents through multiple works of sketches and paintings in your professor’s monthly competition. nobody else came close, it was always you and chaeyoung head to head as her’s were a complete contrast to your style.
“i love y/n’s works so much!”
“chaeyoung’s send a message i don’t know if you guys can see it.”
“it’s almost as if they’re speaking to each other through their art.”
you hear the things your classmates would compliment or compare, but it was never about seeing who was better no–more like trying to pry about each other’s minds and emotions.
aside from all the numerous things and assignments, you and chaeyoung somehow manage to go to an art museum together despite the bitterness when she turned you down, but she came back around only because for the sake of drawing inspiration.
i think it would’ve been a good idea to just get lost in the museum by yourself, but you end up sticking with chaeyoung as you follow her around as she studied the more sad and darker works.
eventually you and her stumble across a piece where it’s a simple machine in the middle that’s closed off by glass panes. you watch the machine clean itself of the leaking oil that’s spilling around, almost like it’s enslaved for its entire existence.
you meet up with chaeyoung at the center of the piece where it shows the name of the artwork titled: can’t help myself. you found the title to be fitting since it literally shows the machine working for its entire existence.
“we should probably go now, the museum is about to close.” you say to chaeyoung as you turn to look at her, catching a tear falling down her cheek. you would try to comfort her as it hurt to see her like this especially in public, but you decide to do nothing as you take a couple steps back to give her space.
--
it’s almost the end of the semester and you and chaeyoung eventually get started on your collaborative project that ends up being a sculpture. since there was a dry period of inspiration, you and chaeyoung argue over who should do what.
“we’re out of options.”
“no, you’re just not thinking hard enough.” chaeyoung retorts at you, scoffing as she continues to draw her heart away on her sketchbook.
“this was professor schick’s worst idea putting us as partners.” you shoot back as you sit across from her in the small vanity of the school’s art studio.
“i already told you i don’t want any part of this project, so this is all on you.” chaeyoung mumbles as nothing is heard except the scribbles of her pencil onto the paper.
you shuffle forward and close her sketchbook, “you said we can do the sculpture, i’ll be the model.” chaeyoung stares at your shocking proposition and contemplates on the idea, given the fact that it’s almost due and there’s no time left, it seemed the only logical thing to do.
“okay, lets do it.”
--
once chaeyoung got her art materials setup, you sat and took your position on the stool as chaeyoung got to work at molding the sculpture from your reference.
it seemed like torture that you had to keep yourself up for what seemed like hours, chaeyoung took her time etching in the details of your unbuttoned shirt, exposing your midriff and just stopping right before the shirt parts at your breasts.
you hear a smack on the canvas in front of you as she scooched back, facing the floor as you stepped down the elevated platform, making your way to her as you were genuinely concerned for her at this point.
“chae, everything alright?” you ask as you kneel down to get a better look of her face.
she’s crying.
“you have to tell me what’s going on, i don’t want to see you sad all the time.” you say to her as you try to place your hands on her shoulders, chaeyoung swatting them away instantly.
“i don’t know how you do it…” she mutters, “how can you be okay with us being like this?!”
you step back to give her breathing room, still unsure about her feelings.
“what are you talking about-”
“i wish i could see the world through you!” chaeyoung exclaims, “i don’t want to be hurt like this anymore!” her voice breaking as the tears came streaming down.
pulling her in for a hug as she cries on your shoulder, “you don’t have to hold it all in anymore chae, i don’t want us to be enemies.” you say as the sadness comes over you as well.
who would’ve thought that opposites can be attracted in the most unexpected circumstances of pain.
</3
hopefully you'll like this and thank you omg ur actually the sweetest i can't

Your sketching/art style is really pretty and clean. Do you ever do fully rendered pieces? I'd love to know what your painting style looks like? Or do you have any plans to paint any of the lads stuff you've done yet? Sorry if you've answered this before!
So this is a bit of a ~fun~ one to answer and might get a little long bit I'll do my best to keep it as short and simple as possible my dear sweet Anon ♡
First off, thank you! I used to do a lot of rendering and full-on painting in terms of digital art, but figure sketching is always where I've been happiest and most comfortable. The human body is my absolute favorite subject, and while painting it is lovely, I find the simple sketching of it to be very soothing. It's uncomplicated, and the shapes and lines don't get lost as easily imo. It's just nice to be able to see the curve and form of the body in its most uninhibited view.
That said, you won't see me do a lot of painting anymore. In March of last year, I got really sick and started to lose the mobility in my hands. I found out I had PsA (short hand for Psoriatic Arthritis, think of it like a cousin to Rheumatoid Arthritis), and so the amount of time I can spend drawing and painting is drastically reduced. This means that while I used to be able to spend all day working on rendering a piece no problem, I just can't do that anymore. To give you an example, I've been working on this piece since January in small bursts, and I'm still not halfway done-
Tumblr media
This is a project of love though (the dnd group I play in, the witch on the broom is my character) so it's still something I deeply enjoy working on so I'm happy to do it in little bursts.
Here are a couple other passion projects I'm chipping away at that are all personal projects and a bit of fanart that are all mid WIP. Hopefully this gives you an idea of my limited painting skills 😅🤣 even before my illness I was a mediocre painter at best, as it wasn't ever something that really drew me in to strive for improvement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've taken quite a shine to doing manga panel redraws since my illness, enjoying the black and white/greytone styles, so I've been playing with those as well recently. Particularly with the Demon Slayer manga. They're much easier but still pack a punch visually, and I love the comparison between the original and my interpretation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope that answers your question (and I'm sorry it was probably waaay more than you asked for lmao). I'm sorry you won't be seeing many painted LnDS pieces from me anytime soon, or likely ever. As my hands continue to decline so will my skills and abilities. But I'm grateful you guys have been enjoying the sketches I've been able to do. I really appreciate all the love you've given me ♡♡

Because you're going to be stuck seeing dozens more sketches of her, here's my PC for BG3:
Zatavia “Tav” Felix, Zariel Teifling, Monk of the Open Hand, She/Her, 45
Tav talks about herself (at level 1 at the beginning of the game – spoken with strong ‘just some guy’ energy):
“My name is Tav. I am a wandering monk, seeking little more than knowledge and skill, making my way through the kindness and generosity of others. As a child, my anger, difficulty, and defiance lead to my entering of a monastic enclave in Baulder’s Gate. I flourished under routine and discipline, growing with my fellow acolytes, working, learning, and training. At twenty, I was deemed worthy enough to set out on my own path. I spent the next couple decades of my life traveling Faerûn, occasionally returning to Baulder’s Gate. I have found and lost love, luck, pain, and trial on the road, but as I am now, I walk by myself.”
Some more info and a full body ref below the cut:
favorite weapon: Hands but she carries the Gold Wyrmling staff to keep a firebolt cantrip on hand (particularly nice with her now-explosive blood)
style of combat: Off-tank utilizing ki resonating punch for crowd control and furry of blows/other disabling attacks for larger enemies
most prized possession: She isn’t material, and would walk away from physical things in a heartbeat but she does seem to keep her earrings on at most times though, some sentimentality there (a gift from an old friend)
deepest desire: A cold pint after a long day of hard work or travel, a bath, some banging sex, and a good nights rest before doing it all again
guilty pleasure: Fancy little cakes/sweets, the occasional cigarette (used to be something all the acolytes did – contraband at the monastery makes it interesting)
best-kept secret: Her full name (she is fine with her first name but thinks her last name is embarrassing – some forefather’s invention to try to make the lot of them ‘lucky’)
greatest strength: Bull-headed resolution and kindness
fatal flaw: Stubbornness and empathy (doesn't always listen well once she has an opinion)
favorite smell: Salt Spray, petrichor, campfire, pine, sandlewood
favorite spell or cantrip: Firebolt, Tasha’s hideous laughter
pet peeve: Too much background noise, multiple people trying to talk to her at the same time
bad habit: No eye-contact, not paying attention, picking violence first
hidden talent: Actually plays the lyre and sings fairly well if given the chance
leisure activity: Sleeping, fucking, exercise, meditation – not necessarily in that order
favorite drink: Dark beer, orange juice, black coffee
comfort food: Mushroom soup, lychees, rice pudding
favorite person: Karlach (in Tav’s mind this is in pink font with little hearts and glitter n shit – she’s smitten – it’s gross. She loves all her friends though very much.)
favored display of affection (platonic and/or romantic): Hugging, kissing, touching, hand-holding, tail-holding, overall despite the sort of stoic and serious bearing she’s terribly touchy and cuddly. Also a big gift-giver if she can manage it (she doesn't have much money and doesn't keep it when she does) – if she finds it it’s yours if you need it/want it.
fondest childhood memory: After a few months in the monastery getting used to the routine and work, waking up one nondescript day and just finding herself calm and ready to be awake and alive (she spent much of her childhood angry and frustrated, and at 12 after some discussion of secondary school, apprenticeship, or other options, she and her family agreed that monastic training would be the best thing for now – and it actually suited her very well.)

was talking about it with @cafedanslanuit but we’re obsessed with the idea that mitsuya would make his girlfriend’s wedding dress TAT
the idea started off as a joke
mitsuya lost in a train of thought as he works on his latest project. what he’s making for dinner, touman, what you two should do on your next date and then weddings fills his mind
luna and mana are in their ‘say yes to the dress japan’ phase and it’s all they’ve been watching and he balks at the prices of every dress because there’s no way he or his mom could afford something like that for even one of his sisters let alone both of them
but when he was grimacing about it, his sisters gleefully said that they would just go to him when they get married and have their favoritist bestest big brother in the world make their dream dresses and then proceeded to make their specific demands as to what they wanted their dresses to look like (the little brats he snorts to himself)
the same thought of expensive dresses apply to you though. if you ever got married, he doubts you’d have the budget for it unless the both of you are just high balling it once you’re adults. so he chuckles, mid-stitch and thinks “guess i’ll just have to make her dress too”
but then a few minutes go by and mitsuya pauses, thinking to himself more seriously “if we ever get married, i want to be the one who makes her dress”
and it was a project he began years before actually proposing to you
the process of designing your wedding dress was a serious affair from day one. there’s no ‘draw up a few sketches and going ‘that’s it, that’s the one’. mitsuya is meticulous
he starts asking about your favorite style of formal wear under the guise of saying it’s for the sewing club’s catalogue or some competition. confused you ask ‘i thought you hated awards and competitions’ and he responds ‘well yasuda and the others want to improve the club’s prestige so it’s easier for the new president to gather members once we third years graduate’ and yeah that sounds believable to you
so he asks throughout the months and years: what’s your opinion on the mermaid style, princess, something more elegant? florals?? beading???
he even asks emma and hina to take note of any dresses you found particularly stunning in those wedding shows you all liked to watch from time to time
he’s worked on the design of your wedding dress for years and one personal requirement mitsuya has for himself is that the design of your dress must be finalized before he proposes
once you’re engaged and you’ve picked a season you want to be married in, he orders materials best suited for it so you’ll be more comfortable the day of the wedding
he even says ‘you don’t have to do a white dress either, i’ll make it any color you want okay? just tell me’
his face is so soft one day while he works on it in his studio
he worked so hard on the design process but now he’s actually here, actually making it
you said ‘yes’ to his proposal and now he’s making your dress and he’s going to see you wear what he lovingly made for you and you alone. saying he’s happy isn’t enough, it’s nowhere close to how he feels
gets emotional during the fitting making the last adjustments because he’s not a kid with a pipe dream and sketchbook hoping you’ll marry each other anymore, now he’s a man crafting your wedding attire because you’re marrying each other
(once he’s in control of himself again and finishes the adjustments, you sweetly suggest practicing your vows since it’s just the two of you in his studio)
(both of you count that as the true wedding. just you and mitsuya and the dress he made for you)

Day 3:
Previously in PRSC...
The boys in Genesis, Rush and King Crimson continue to progress and gain a tiny bit more comfort in their… difficult conditions.
Tensions within the Yes and ELP camps reach an all-time high. Steve Howe does a runner and reaches ‘The Court of The Crimson King’ by midnight. (Keyboard wizard) Rick Wakeman and (Fish) Chris Squire plan their well-needed escapes...
Death count: 0
In The Court of The Crimson King...  Steve reached the camp late last night and has since been welcomed by all members of it (except Broof, who tries to ignore him following his awkward exit from Yes). He is put to work with John and David in doing various dull, laborious tasks overseen by Fripps right-hand-percussion-men, Bill and Jamie Muir who are ‘keeping them in check’. Although Steve feels tired, he also finds the structure, safety and sense of community that he felt was lacking with Yes. We cannot say the same for John and David.
Meanwhile in ‘Epping Forest’...
This is the supper of the mighty one! Genesis eat well tonight as (during a particularly long prance around the woods) Peter found nice, ripe fruit on the forest floor (little does the band know that Jon dropped it earlier that day, made clumsy by his consumption of the mushrooms). Tony is spending hours a day perfecting each detail of the entrancing face of his Etch-a-Sketch recreation of the Mona Lisa.  Phil, Steve and Mike have managed to make primitive fishing rods out of the spare guitar strings that Steve forgot he brought (also forgetting to bring his guitar). Good one guys!
Rushing over to another camp…
Their fishing may be less effective (standing in the river and lashing out at any passing fish. In the event that one is caught, the band all stress out as to how to kill the thing) but, the three companionable Canadians of Rush continue their hygienic progress. The band have exhausted their camping supply of bottled drinking water and sadly, in the wilderness the band cannot dine on honeydew or drink the milk of paradise. Luckily Neil remembered a 7th grade science lesson he had where he was taught that boiling water kills all dangerous microorganisms and disinfects it. He removes the camping stove and small pot from his bag, fills the pot with water from the cleanest part of the river he could find and begins to boil…
Close to the Edge, Down By the River…
Near the ‘pretty view’ of the river Jon selected, Yes are crumbling to some extent. Steve asked Jon if he could go over to The Court yesterday and Jon reluctantly agreed and let him go. Steve didn’t mean it personally but I think Jon took it that way (poor guy). Meanwhile, Rick is getting fed up with waiting around for Jon and Alan to get vegetarian food when he could eat as much meat as he likes (though in reality, he is far too lazy to do so). Chris isn’t a fan of Jon’s leadership style. Its a sort of strange hotchpotch between Hippy and autocratic that he doesn’t like. All the while, it doesn’t help that Jon has found some magic mushrooms and spends quite a lot of his time in ‘dreamland’. He and Rick have planned to leave the camp to find ELP next time Jon and Chris go out gathering together.
In the ELP camp...
The last few hours have been somewhat monotonous at the ELP camp. The band’s relationship is fractured (particularly Keith and Greg’s). Morale is dipping sub-zero, and Carl still hasn’t figured out the drum part for Karn-Evil 9 so instead of making useful progress to prolong their lives, the half-starved threesome chose to discuss new project ideas for ‘when all this forest crap is out of the way’. One could call this a useful conversation to keep up hope and distract them. They could also call it valuable time and energy wasted that will eventually lead to their doom. Either way, in their hungry, delirious state discussion is getting heated quickly. Carl leaves early to actually try and help them survive, and is also hurt by the two of them calling him a ‘shit Buddy Rich knockoff’.
The issue on the table currently is Greg’s suggestion, ‘Love Beach 2 (Electric Boogaloo)’. This thought seems to be sending Keith into something of a violent frenzy.
I will spare the details of the real-time commentary for the next few minutes. This passage is written in retrospect: Keith and Greg got into a physical confrontation which included a lot of punches from Keith and in the process, Greg hit his head on a large protruding rock in the wood’s undergrowth and by the time Carl returned from his mission of trying to keep them alive, and managed to pry Keith away from his friend, it was too late.
The two of them aren’t talking as they submerge the body into the dark, cold river water. What he has done is beginning to dawn on Keith and he has been battling with his tears since they left to the water. All Carl can think about is that his friend and bandmate is a ‘fucking murderer’. He must negotiate a way away from this knife-wielding maniac. Luckily, upon return to the camp, he recognises two new, trustworthy silhouettes, CHRIS AND RICK!!! He is currently having a private discussion with the two of them featuring sentences like, ‘Guys please get me out of here. He’s a crazy madman with a knife. I’m gonna die’. Chris sensibly responds in a hushed voice, ‘We could always give those Canadian kids a go?’. And that is the plan for the three of them...
That’s all for today, so we’ll see you tomorrow for...
The Prog Rock Survival Competition!

Hihi! Congratulations on your 1k milestone!! Glad to see your works being recognised OMGOSH😭😭 been following for quite a while now around the time since you started I think?? So happy for you AHHH
Could you do -𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞 — 🐍 for me of that's okay?
-𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞 — 🐍
Go on a date with Tom! Send in anything you're comfortable sharing about yourself, and I'll write a mini HC of date with Tom, specifically curated for you.
My friends call me shan, and I'm a really energetic person in general. I like to socialize with people a lot, especially with people who are interested in the same things as I am. I love doing art such as drawing or painting- and reading too. Also, I really love cats a ton and im a hufflepuff🫡
Anyways, once again congrats on this incredible milestone!! Will be watching your growth💪💪
🐍 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐂 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐨𝐦
𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓷
𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝐽𝑜𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 1𝐾 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡!
A/N: Aww, thank you so much! You've been here for a long time then! Thank you for tolerating and sticking around with my amateur writing haha. I'm so thankful to have a supporter like you🥰
Here it is!
You're definitely the social butterfly while Tom likes to lurk in the background sipping a drink.
Tom admires your ability to socialise considering his social energy doesn't last very long (although when he does use it, he puts it to a very good, efficient use).
He likes to joke "Your Hufflepuff is showing" in those cases where you're radiating positivity and friendliness, able to make anyone feel at home.
A date with him would include walking the Hogwarts grounds until you find the perfect subject, the perfect lighting, etc.
You bring out your tools and a canvas/sketchbook, by the Great Lake, for example.
While you draw/paint/sketch, Tom would read next to you. Sometimes reading out loud the parts he felt strongly about, or had opinions regarding it and ask what you think.
Tom absolutely loves these long hours of just chatting with you about various topics because he loves learning about your thoughts, feelings, world view.
Somehow, these hours spent with you and you alone, his social energy never seems to run out.
You don’t say this to anyone, but you often catch Tom distracted from his book, staring up at you with admiration and adoration as you paint.
Sometimes he’d model for you.
Whenever the discussion gets heated, you sometimes say “models shouldn’t be moving,” to end the conversation.
He’d bitterly bite down on his smile and swallow his counter argument, but will still oblige and return to his pose.
Tom is extremely proud of you as an artist.
He does feel that he is lacking in knowledge of high arts compared to other purebloods.
But, still calls you “My Little Monet”, “My Da Vinci” as a sign of affection.
Even though you may feel that your style looks like none of these artists, you find it endearing that Tom is trying his best.
You have a cat best friend at Hogwarts. You love spending time with them, and they like to follow you as you go to paint.
Unfortunately, you and Tom found out that Tom is wildly allergic to cats.
He still loves hanging out with you (maybe less so with your cat), so on days when your cat decides to accompany you, you will find Tom sneezing nonstop.
Usually, by the time his red eyes start shedding tears, Tom will excuse himself with a quick kiss to your forehead.

Just a lot of thoughts below. No common theme tbh
Perhaps I should do a tutorial on how I draw spam sometime? I've seen a couple tries of emulating my style so I think it might be fun to give a Direct way to do it. Not to say the emulations were bad! I just think it would be fun 2 do.
I have a love hate relationship with Hotel California. It's a good god damn song. But I heard it literally Every Day after school for like 2 years. I put it in one of my playlists to antagonize myself.
I often wonder what people think of me. Am I a good person? Am I doing right by myself? I don't know. I hope I'm good. I hope I'm kind and approachable. But looking back at my last relationship.. I don't know. It was definitely my fault but he also made me so upset so often. I hope I don't do that to anyone else
I get compliments about my line art a lot. Usually along the lines of "it's so smooth/clean/etc" Here's a fun fact: my hands are chronically shaky. Probably because I don't eat enough but I digress. I want you to open your art program and find the stabilizer. Or correction or whatever the fuck it's called. Turn it up to the point you can make a somewhat unsure line into a confident one. Bam, you're already 70% of the way to how I do my lines. The rest is experience and a trained eye ;]
I really want someone to hold and kiss and love. I have so much of it, and I can't give it to anyone near me. Why? I already dated most of my friends. It would be weird. Just really want someone I'm close to that I can snuggle up to again. I miss that comfort.
I realized, after I made the Blue and Spam post, that Pink is ALSO based on a family member. See, my mom has 2 sisters. The one like Spam, and the one I accidentally made Pink act like. For ease, Mo is pink, KT is spam, and Ma is blue. Mo fucking HATES KT. Doesn't want anything to do with her. But just like Ma, if KT actually needed her help, she'd be there. Begrudgingly, of course.
I wonder how long it usually takes people to make art like mine. For me, if it's just Spamton and no other characters/objects, it takes maybe 2 - 3 hours. That's the full piece. From sketch to post. I'm very fast at what I do so I wonder. I truly do!
My music taste leans heavily towards rock, but hard rock has never caught me quite as much as the rest. Maybe I just haven't found the right kind. Honestly finding new music is always a treat. My mom absolutely loves Rush, and I can see why! But I also love pretty much Everything! Musicals to pop to acapella to fuckin opera if it's good. Rock is a Huge genre, so I guess that's why my taste is so open to begin with. Gotta say tho, raising your kid on motley crue and guns n roses isn't the Best idea if you want an Obedient child.
I love drawing hands. I enjoy the process of feeling out the movement and flow. Hands are so expressive and I genuinely love drawing them. I can understand ppl hating them, but that doesn't mean I agree. Just take the time to learn and you'll see.
Oh right, I should say if you have any opinions/commentary/whatever abt all this shit I'm totally down for a full on rant. Ok. Time to sleep.

I love your art style!! How did you gain it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WAIT OMG 🥹🥹 THANK YOU SO MUCH ANON!!!!!!!!!
okay so! hmm
I've been doing mostly traditional art for a good portion of my life now, so to be honest I'm kind of new to digital art. back then I mostly just drew profiles and faces and wasn't good at anatomy (but to be honest I'm still bad at it- I use Poseit to help me ;D!!) and I hadn't really touched digital art until around. last year to the year before that I'd say? I'm not sure. my memory is horrible
as I said, I now use Poseit to help with structuring my art, and my previous art style just looked a bit. strange with it I'd say? lemme find the first digital art I posted
Tumblr media
foster! this one was made using a posing template I found on pinterest, not Poseit. I wasn't all that good about making clothes look like clothes, so other than the little creases in the shirt their clothes look a bit strange. I'm really iffy about the eyes and the way I shaded them, and back then the way I drew scars is really different to how I do now. I'm all for the clean look it has at the end, but I prefer my new style ;3 also I remember I immediately went in with doing lineart instead of sketching out what I wanted to do first? on the plus side, though, as I said the finishing style is clean, the lines are consise and their expression is definitely foster-y, and I actually don't mind the shading!
as previously stated, that was my first try at digital art. now let's take a look at my most recent one, aka my pfp (actually, I'll use two recent ones)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rayan (left) and Ruaridh (right)!!
let's start with the rayan one! as with foster's, I stuck to having clean lines, except I think I did vary the sizes of the lines? I'm not sure. I've only recently begun adding things like blood and blush to my art, so I don't think I've mastered it just yet. idk, does that count as rendering? I'm not sure
god, bloody noses. I love bloody noses. I had so much fun giving Rayan a bloody nose it's insane. also, you can tell that the lines on the scars are slimmer compared to the ones on foster, but I think they'd look better more like. idk, wiggly? uneven? scarry? I'm not exactly sure
and then Ru, omg Ru. this was my first try making a background, and I used stencils from ibis paint to do the trees n leaves n whatnot. this was more of a chance to experiment than anything; using a textured brush was a really nice change, and I got inspired by @/befuddled-calico-whump (sorry I'm a big lurker around their channel I really like their art) and the way they sometimes show the sketches beneath the actual lineart in their own pieces! it allowed me to be more messy and make it look more candid (?) in my style. I didn't really go for too much shading other than the lighting of the moon, since I still don't know what I'm doing with shading 😭😭
anyway! I guess the simple answer was a lot of years spent tweaking my style, and sort of just experimenting and having fun until I settle on something I'm comfortable with. I'm still new to certain aspects of drawing digitally, but I'm glad that people like my art :3
thank you for the ask!

Kakashi’s dull eyes haunted you. Not in a sense that you felt watched or saw him everywhere, but rather whenever you closed your eyes to sleep you saw his Anbu flame before your inner eye or whenever you worked a design for a customer your mind wandered to motives that could cover up the flame or whenever the bell above your door rang you hoped it was him about to tell you he didn’t want the cover-up anymore.
You refused to accept Kakashi’s case as a failure. Whether because of pride, determination or guilt, you couldn’t specify. Probably because of all of the above.
What plagued you the most was the question why someone would even want to get an Anbu flame covered. To your knowledge, the Anbu were a very well-respected force directly under the Hokage’s order. Only the best shinobi were given the opportunity to join, so wasn’t it a sign of honor? Why would someone feel the need to hide it?
Two weeks later, you still couldn’t think of anything else and in a lousy attempt to get your mind off Kakashi and his tattoo, you convinced yourself it was time to clean out all the old files from your office. The tiny room in the back was more of an archive than anything else and filled with racks, which were overflowing with folders to the point they could collapse should anyone put any more weight on them.
During your raid you found old documents, dated years ago – receipts, sketches, letters from thankful customers. You put all the letters to your dad in packing cases you found behind one of the shelves and put the full boxes next to your front desk to take them with you when you would leave. As for the receipts and sketches you were indecisive if it was better to put them in alphabetical or chronological order, however that could wait until you had emptied all the racks and scattered everything on the ground, leaving said ground nowhere to be seen under all the paper, aside from the one spot for yourself to sit down.
Before starting the sorting process, you looked around the room again, scanning the shelves if you had missed anything, and noticed how different the angle from the floor was. While usually the room felt small and narrow, the shelves now seemed to have grown, towering over you and changing the perspective. When you checked the last shelf again, the one in the right corner, you noticed something sticking to the lower three boards.
Careful to not destroy the organized chaos you had just created, you got up and tiptoed over, kneeling on the ground. And sure enough, someone had taped a folded sheet of paper on each of the undersides of the three lowest shelves, so thin and hidden one wouldn’t spot them looking from an upper angle. Your fingers gently removed the tape from the old wood, cautious as to not damage the varnish, and then from the papers before unfolding them. You recognized your dad’s line work and drawing style instantly.
The first paper depicted a crow in front of a waterfall, wings spread and its beak torn open in a screech and a red Anbu flame worked into its stomach and chest, a thin line of what seemed to be uncolored skin separating it from the tattoo’s design. Despite it being only a sketch, the waterfall and the bird’s feathers were incredibly detailed and its visible eye contained some sort of red and black pattern. After years of knowing your dad, these were the parts he intended to do with your family’s special ink, bringing the water and the crow’s feathers to life.
On the second sketch, the pattern of the crow’s eye was pictured bigger. It was a red circle, outlined with a black border. The pattern inside was just as black as the outline and shaped similar to a shuriken with four barb-like corners. Inside was another red circle in the middle which – in turn – had a black dot in its center. Behind the circle, water shot up like a wave breaking at a cliff. And again, the very same flame was worked into the pattern with the very same uncolored bound.
Lastly, the third paper displayed a fan with a blaze in the background. Sketched on the red leaf was a slightly darker ring with three black tomoe circling around a single black dot. This time, the Anbu mark was worked into the fan’s white handle – again separated by an invisible line. But something about the fan struck a chord with you. You could’ve sworn you had seen it before but your brain wouldn’t tell you where or when.
Searching the three concepts for more details or hints, your gaze fell on the initials written lightly with a pencil on the bottom right corners of each sheet. U.I. You took another look at the third design. The fan looked like a symbol... maybe a clan symbol?
Your knowledge of the shinobi world and its clans was limited despite you being a chūnin on paper. Absolving the academy and becoming a genin was a requirement in your family to learn the special technique of tattooing which got passed down from generation to generation. And while you were taught said technique from the cradle, your dad had refused to let you work full-time in his studio until you were fifteen, so you spend the years in between to have an income from completing missions and making it to chūnin just a few months before your dad allowed you to resign from missions and work full-time for him. Therefore, you knew something about everyday shinobi life but coming from a team with neither a well-known sensei nor well-known teammates, you never came into much contact with shinobi politics or the elite, the members of powerful clans, aside from a few stories here and there.
And then it clicked. Uchiha. The fan was the Uchiha’s symbol and the pattern with the tomoe had to be their so called Sharingan. From what you had heard, they used to be a powerful clan, until one Uchiha had eradicated the whole clan in a single night, only leaving his younger, now traumatized brother behind.
Your dad’s words rang in your ears. ‘He was a young man, not even eighteen, whose village had failed him.’ Was he the boy your dad talked about that night? But why would he feel bad for refusing the request of a criminal? You shook your head. They were probably not the same person. Still, what if you...?
Discarding the chaos in the archive, you jumped to your feet and ran over to your front desk and pulled out a few blank sheets of paper and a pen. Quickly, each of the papers had the flame of your recent restless nights in the center. Though your enthusiasm was quickly hushed when a big problem arose. What motives would fit? You knew next to nothing about Kakashi, his life or his preferences.
Someone flicking your forehead made you snap out of it, reminding you where you were. It was Genma. You had totally forgotten about his appointment. Hastily, you stashed your dad’s design under your own sketches, hoping he didn’t see them.
“Is the thing with Kakashi still bothering you? Or has he, perhaps, stolen your heart?”, Genma teased, nodding his head to the sketches in front of you.
With a little shake of your head, you started drawing random lines around one of the flames, in hopes of sudden inspiration. “None of your business, Shiranui.”
“I pay you by the hour and if you charge me for the time you spend lusting over Kakashi, it becomes my business.”
Figuring work would keep you distracted for a while, you got to continue Genma’s tattoo of the Allied Forces headband, a reminder of the beginning of a peaceful era he and his comrades from all shinobi nations had helped create.
Neither of you struck up another conversation, so the only noises in the room were the humming of the air conditioning, the ticking of your clock and the buzzing of your tattoo machine. You cursed yourself internally for forgetting to turn on your radio earlier. Technically it wasn’t silent but it was still quiet enough for your thoughts to drown out all the noise and it was too much for you. You needed a distraction from your thoughts – a good one, since this wasn’t helping.
“Has he told you why he wants it covered?”, you asked. “Isn’t it an honor to be eligible for this special command? After all, only the most capable shinobi are offered a part in the Black Ops, no?” You mentally slapped yourself. This was anything but a distraction – on the contrary, it only added fuel to the dumpster fire that was your mind.
Genma took long enough to answer for you to look up from the motive in front of you. His eyebrows were furrowed, his arm behind his head and his senbon was moving from one corner of his mouth to the other and back again. “Kakashi is... How do I put this nicely? How do I say this without sounding like a jerk?”
“Since when do you care about sounding like a jerk?”
“We’re talking about Kakashi. This man saved my ass more than once. He’s the Hokage. My boss. My friend. You won’t catch me dead talking shit about him.” He clicked his tongue. “Anyway, what I wanted to say is: Kakashi is a good guy who’s been through a lot. I suspect, he’d like to forget his Black Ops era. The Anbu are ruthless. He isn’t. People say he is, but they’re wrong. Knowing him I would say he hates looking at it, hates remembering this part of his life.”
You nodded slowly, understanding, letting Genma’s words sink in. The idea to surround the flame with good prompts, things he liked to remember, grew even more on you. It was a good middle ground between the cover-up you weren’t allowed to do and the nakedness emphasizing the – apparently – horrible memories of the Anbu mark.
Although you still had no idea what exactly to draw around, you figured the solution sat right in front of you. “What do you know about him? What does he like? Are there any things that would make a great tattoo motive?”, you asked, avoiding Genma’s eyes by drawing the character for ‘shinobi’ on the forehead protector on his ribs.
Still, you could see him smirk in the corner of your eye, his twitching senbon attracting your gaze. “You’re really interested in the mystery that is Kakashi Hatake, huh? You like him that much after meeting and talking to him once?”
“I may have a solution that makes both of us happy. It’s not a cover-up but rather I’d add things around the flame, reminders of the good things in his life, representation of his friends or people close to him. And therefore, I need someone who knows Kakashi very well for the details.”
A little surprised, Genma raised an eyebrow. “Like the designs you stashed under your sketches earlier?”
You gulped nervously. “You saw?”
“The Uchiha fan isn’t something that slips a shinobi’s eye and neither is a Mangekyō Sharingan.”
The wording struck a chord with you, pointing out just how out of touch you were with events in the shinobi world since you had quit that life – aside from the war, but that had been something unavoidable. “Guess I’m not shinobi enough”, you joked, covering up the flicker of hurt in your heart. “Anyway. Who can help me figure out the right motives?”
“Lucky for you, I know just the right someone.” With a wink he disappeared into a cloud of smoke, leaving you behind in a state of irritation, sitting on your stool, the machine still in your hand.
When Genma had said ‘someone’ , you had expected said person to be him, not a pug he brought when he returned to the studio an hour later. Granted, he also brought two other shinobi with him, who introduced themselves as Iruka and Yamato, but you were too distracted by the dog almost ripping off Genma’s face when he tried to hold him up.
“This is Pakkun. He’s one of Kakashi’s ninken who have known him since his childhood, so he should be an excellent help. Just don’t try to pick him up.”
Pakkun gave him a glare before turning his attention to you. “How can we help you, young lady?”
