wait has someone else talked ab whether stampede vash's dark undercut is just an aesthetic decision or if there's more to it because he did not have dark parts before Eriks Era in the manga but his dark undercut advanced way earlier even before July.

the dark undercut only happened when he was at least a teenager.

so something happened between the great fall and Home. could it be that the dark hair is the side effect of healing plants? since it *is* a power of vash that was deemed special aside from being a gate to another dimension?

and you know who is really great at preserving his power in the manga that it only turned black bit by bit in the later volumes?

Despite how wildly Elendira was changed as a character in tristamp she's just. so fascinating to me both bc of her existence as a whole (a human/plant hybrid of sorts that Nai, despite his hatred for humans, for some reason has allowed to exist) and the idea of her being an honest, childish reflection of Nai himself.

There is absolutely no way that Elendira's disdain for humans isn't something she learned from him. And when you compare their expressions and behavior - they are just so painfully similar. From the way their emotions shift so quickly from one to another to how they show so clearly on their faces/bodies,

And how the only way to somewhat (poorly) mask themselves is to physically shift away and hide - which they both do in front of Vash specifically.

On that note, Elendira's reaction to physical pain is very interesting to me too in how it contrasts with Nai's. Whereas she throws a tantrum and cries out about how much it hurts, physical pain does very little for Nai (outwardly, that is) as shown in eps 3 and 12. Even as Vash tries to shoot down his blades or as Nai burns himself alive along the fire of Vash's angel arm, it is the emotional aspect (Vash's rejection) which actually hurts him. It can be heard in his voice or seen in his face and still, he tries to hide that too behind a smile or laugh that always seems awfully close to crying or sobbing.

Ig what I'm trying to point at is Elendira - as a metaphorical and literal reflection of him, since she's implied to be a clone, kinda - being able to voice and act out all the reactions to pain, physical and emotional, that Nai usually doesn't allow himself to show.

Extra interesting to me that she immediately labels Vash a traitor and cries harder when she mentions Nai and how Vash doesn't know.

I think a more literal tl of this bit is something along the lines of "it's your fault that lord Knives -", regardless... what is it that Vash doesn't know or that he's at fault for? Is she echoing Nai's pain, his loneliness? Why does she feel it so deeply?

And did Vash realize? What she is and where she comes from, or why she exists? Is that why he looked so sad at the sight of her? Did he see part of his brother in her too? Did Nai as a kid ever cry like that?

OKAYYYY IVE WATCHED THE NEW INVINCIBLE EPISODE NOW. the mark and amber plot and the developments on the viltrumite invasion plot were soooooo interesting this show can really hit when it wants to huh

Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes 💙

Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased

Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird

Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark 💙 yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time

The more I think about CoS the less I hate it tbh...

i think one of caroline's big conflicts has always been about the lines she'd cross for her friends. how she'll call herself a 'good' vampire who is above slaughter and creating victims out of people for fun, but how at the end of the day there isn't much she wouldn't do if one of her friends's lives were at stake. and having it be about her friends is good and well but i decided to give her an extra layer of angst by making it about her instead. by having her kill damon i gave her an extra thing to worry about because now caroline knows she'd kill for her own survival, and she has killed for her own survival, and this was before she became a vampire. which means she was always capable of it, even when she was nothing but a harmless human girl. and idk! i just think it's tasty. it's interesting. i think it's always been a constant battle, for caroline, to be a good person. it's a constant effort, and she can't really afford to even slip up once, and i think it'd just be fun to explore all that.
