This started out as a re-shoot of this pic bc I loved the concept but I didn't know anything back then. So this is also a progress post of sorts.

@basbousah sent: Kaveh stares at Alhaitham for an uncomfortable amount of time, plotting, seething — who knows? He is sitting on his side of the room like a bird staring at a cat.

Uncomfortable is such a subjective concept. It's true Kaveh has been shooting daggers with his eyes in his general direction for a notable amount of time but it is a misconception that Alhaitham finds it off-putting in any way. Not once has he looked up from his book to meet his roommates' gaze or tried to find out what it is that's caused this silent fuming.

They haven't had any disagreements as of late, so either this is about some past issue that's about to be regurgitated or Kaveh has come up with some new perceived transgression on Alhaitham's behalf that the scribe isn't worried about actually having committed in the slightest. Last night everything was fine and today their paths have barely crossed since their morning coffee.

He continues to let Kaveh stare as he reads his book - however noticing his attention slip after three more lines of text. It has been going on for a while, hasn't it, and ever since that became obvious he subconsciously started counting down the seconds to it shifting from irrelevant and unworthy of attention to somewhat bothersome. With Kaveh's intent stare on him the room does start to feel oddly.. loud.

There are two chapters left he can easily read through before dinner and whatever Kaveh needs to get off his chest clearly could be held in all day, so another hour won't matter. Finally Alhaitham's eyes lift off the page in front of him and look across the room to meet Kaveh's - all while his hand comes up to his headphones to activate the noise-cancelling. Preventively.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
