Why I personally prefer the manga’s portrayal of Stein and his struggles (manga and anime spoilers)

In the manga, Stein also went through a “madness arc,” or really what could be described as a psychotic episode. But the entire episode was laid out much differently than the anime, and felt like a much more grim and serious portrayal (other traits of his were portrayed similarly, but I’ll get into that later).

Despite the fact that they begun similarly, the manga’s ended up being played out more smoothly, and less rushed through. He did not quickly go to search for Medusa. Instead, we were shown Stein struggling with hallucinations, paranoia, incoherent thinking, fatigue, addiction, his own sadistic and homicidal desires (which could be considered addictions in their own rights), etc. And while we did see some features of this in the anime, I feel like the manga did a better job showing the utter suffering and anguish associated with all that Stein had been going through his entire life. Not to mention, much later in the series, when they battled on the moon, as opposed to simply being rushed through a transformation arc (as in the feeling guilt, trusting in everyone, softening up), he sort of lost his shit and later had to come to terms with the fact that who he was as a person and his own internal struggles would forever torment him, and would forever exist in conflict with the world he lives in, the people he was around, and the DWMA as a whole. He recognized how he truly did not care much about the motives of the academy, how in the end he could be taken for one of the many enemies they were fighting against. Even Spirit recognized this. We got to see the “darker” aspects of his personality and inner struggles, we got to see more of how his own motives are nothing but selfish and hedonistic in nature. I just wish we could’ve seen how he ended up at the academy in the first place. To me, the softening of Stein felt rushed and sort of out of left field. The manga’s portrayal felt more realistic, down to earth, and overall more Stein-ish. I have no qualms with him slowly learning to put his trust in others, but I disliked the way the anime handled it. Plus, the guilt was also sort of shoehorned in, at least to me. I understand that he was supposedly learning to think about others, but it was so damn quick. In the manga, it brings up how he views people as effectively “wrapping paper.” He wants to rip that paper apart and see what’s on the inside. Sure, some of the paper might be saved for later, but once it’s not of use anymore, he’ll gladly throw it away. He never viewed people as people. I’m fine with the idea of him learning how to, I suppose, but it was just so quick. Now, the manga also rushed a lot of shit with the characters, including Stein, but that whole arc just felt more pleasing to me.

Optimus feels so damn betrayed right now which the feelings of betrayal are valid. Megatron was sort of committing treason, treasonous treason that I can see why he's very pissed and sad and scared of what he's finding out

... but I've got very little sympathy for Optimus right now, and I'm gonna be real with y'all I fully support this said treason with what I've seen and am very biased. No, he has not destroyed this fic's Decepticon cause, he's simply trying to protect the civilians and jump ship— he's not funneling information to the remaining few Functionists or planning to destroy the decepticons he just wants to GTFO. Plus oh I don't know tHE NONCONSENSUAL DEEP DIVE INTO HIS BRAIN AND CAUSING GREAT SUFFERING

Something that I don't understand from the AI proponents... don't you get any pleasure from the satisfaction of solving a creative problem? In your art, or writing, or music whatever it is, are you so addicted to instant gratification, or are your bosses so unforgiving that you can't indulge in that feeling of having overcome a creative barrier and you know... created? Why is a machine that attempts to solve it for you a tool you'll think it's fun to use?

I'll add up to this short moment of loathing over bl series and i think i don't need to be very descriptive to send the message.
