These two baddies asdfjasksajdak- my favourite flowers are rafflesia and corpse flowers soooo yeah- I find it really funny how I said that Ruth has no friends cuz he smells awful lmao.

Honestly I kinda want to redesign her- I picture her being strict and hot-headed, and also I went through a phase of drawing plant people hence these three ocs lol

I'm gonna praise myself, these actually look pretty good- especially Sorbet Shark Cookie, I'm happy with how they turned out! :D

until i recently read posts on here about how there is an inherent queerness to the doctor and rose's relationship in how it's unspoken and filled with yearning that i'd never really considered that element, despite knowing for ages that RTD is gay but. man. it's just reframed a lot of the series for me, like the idea that you have this lonely man who's just watched his people die and is self-destructive and misanthropic and traumatised and he can love again and he wants to but it has so many risks.

but especially S3 and how it adds even more weight to the doctor's grieving widower status. how he tells martha that he and rose were together but martha refers to rose as a friend to tallulah; the fact that he can only say they were together once she is gone; how the only other person that both can feel how he feels but also understands the depth of his feelings is jack, a queer man himself. and I've been thinking to myself lately oh, it's ok, the doctor and rose probably accidentally got married on at least one planet or something but also the point is that there was no official title that could convey to people the extent that they meant to each other, that the doctor can really only tell donna that rose was his friend even though it is so wholly inadequate and she comes to see that by the end of the episode (and martha too of course). how people who saw the doctor and rose together assumed they were a couple, like on krop tor, but once there's no more physical evidence of the relationship it becomes more vague (and simultaneously clearer).

anyway something about how christopher eccleston said he based his portrayal of nine on RTD and something about RTD saying that his husband is "in every good man i write now" and how the doctor and ruby seeing each other in the club mimics his first meeting with his husband aka the one moment he would use a time machine to go back to hmmm

AWH... I'm skipping through Roier's QSMP Day 1 VOD because I'm looking for a specific thing, and I just noticed that when Jaiden stands in front of the group to do her introduction and her mic isn't working, Mariana laughs (not in a mean way, I laughed too) and Roier immediately smacks him and tells him off for laughing.

my notifs recently got me thinking about the very random concept of "what if there is a second, secret CHB. directly below normal CHB." and i ended up brainstorming it in the discord.

context for how this originated: one was just a random notif on my post talking about the tunnels under the Hephaestus cabin, and the other was some tags from @drksanctuary on my fake readriordan article mentioning the idea of a chthonic demigod camp.

so. my brilliant (read: "smashing my 2 brain cells together") idea: the elaborate and seemingly infinite tunnels under cabin 9 are remnants of an abandoned underground CHB that exists directly underneath camp. It's basically just normal CHB except in a big cave system, probably connected to the labyrinth somewhere and has the separate tunnels, and instead of the Olympian cabins it has chthonic cabins. there's probably also some infernal nymphs and etc down there too. since all chthonic demigods can learn to shadow-travel they probably used that to get down there, and a lot of chthonic demigods probably have geokinesis just by nature, ergo the tunnels (for when they don't want to shadow-travel, or can't).

in brainstorming with the discord we decided it could be cool if some of the cabins lined up with the above-ground cabins, either for thematic purposes or associations or whatever. Like there's maybe a Hermes and maybe Poseidon cabin in the chthonic CHB too that just link to the above-ground ones, but also like Persephone cabin lines up to Demeter cabin because of course it does. and maybe Hecate cabin lines up to Cabin 8 cause Artemis is sometimes 1/3rd of Hecate. Maybe Angelos cabin is beneath Cabin 1, and Zagreus cabin is beneath Cabin 12. Things like that.

The other ones i thought of were either Hypnos or Thanatos cabin lines up with Apollo, because twins, and the other is just right beside it (because twins). And Charon's cabin is beneath Cabin 9, ergo why the tunnel system connects to it (because Charon. Ferryman. Surface access. It makes sense in my brain).

yk, while chinese is a nightmare to learn (for me at least) they're also such an interesting language... "来, 小姐!" hits a lot different than "miss, your order's ready!" but i can't really explain why hahahah

#rin rambles #why did they use the 姐 hanzi? is there a 小妹 too? perhaps used for younger looking females?? it's just. so interesting to me hsldjfsd #it's always so interesting to see but also kinda weird bc sometimes i see a hanzi and knows what it says/means in jp but then i have 0 idea #-if it means the same or how it reads/sounds in cn lol #i think. maybe. if i was born in an environment that actually supports leaning chinese i might have taken to it a little more.#but at this point i just can't with memorization as an adult #and as a younger person having to learn it in school but unable to use it anywhere just makes it feel like i have to learn it just for the-#-sake of grades so i hated it at that time. there were lots of other subjects that was more 'important' so it felt even more meaningless-#-that time bc even if i somehow managed to learn it. it's not like i'll be able to use it anywhere ;;;;#still..... it is tempting.... to just learn for the sake of learning. and it is usable for my current situation.... maybe. mayhaps.

Man there's nothing wrong with genderbends as a concept but there's something lowkey infuriating about this fandom's tendency to take canonically gay (or at least, MLM) male characters and genderbend them into women like. Is that not at least a little bit uncomfortable for anyone else here or is it just me

#esp since like for example you never see it happen to any of the female/sapphic characters #could just be bc TF's cast is overwhelmingly male and thus ppl want to even the gender ratio a little #but like. ppl spend more time genderbending male characters into women than they do making content for canon women including the sapphics #discourse #like idk sometimes if the art is really good or if i'm in a really good mood i'm like 'yeah this is fine. i admit i like it'#but then there's other times where i'm like. did you rly think it was a good idea to turn a canon gay man into a woman in your AU #like. really really?#idk it's just one of those things where as a baseline i understand genderbend and even enjoy them myself #it's just in this fandom specifically where the way ppl do it sometimes. feels uncomfortable. or at least poorly thought out #that or it's just me getting annoyed by ppl going 'omg i love TF women' and then making 0 content for them #and then complaining that there's not enough female characters #like okay you literally dont even pay attention to the women who are there and just make fanart of men and m/m stuff #kinda feels like you should either put your money where your mouth is or stop complaining about it #or maybe start supporting franchises that actually have even gender balances instead of inventing representation #that only exists in your brain/friend group and the ppl actually making shows (or watching them) dgaf about
