Rounding the corner he found the little group of Maiar sitting on the floor holding hands and singing softly. Dressed in hues of shimmering gold and silver, carmin and turmeric, the seven Maiar had their eyes closed, a peaceful expression on their faces painted with gold dots between their brows. But the one Eönwë could not take his eyes off was the one leading the song. Thick wavy strands that curled along her shoulders in soft candlelight hues, freckles adoring high cheekbones and the memory of a mischievous smile on full rosy lips.  A shiver ran through his spine to the tips of his wings while he kept staring mesmerised, taking notice of the gold of her eyelashes, the lit of her voice, the warmth of her song. He knew her not personally but immediately Eönwë was brought back to the Music, to their Creation, to the familiarity of Spirits born out of purpose. Urwendi, the Maiden of the sacred Light. Arien.  Eönwë stood there as minutes stretched, entranced by her until his cheeks burned from embarrassment and shame. He dared not approach, lest he intruded on the ceremony and so instead, decided to silently retreat.

learning that ours poetica may never get another update ruined my day. my week even. even my month. mb even my year. that fic changed the way i read tommyinnit-centric works now. that fic changed the game for me and i will mourn the lack of an ending. sad to mark it as abandoned now as well :(

If only I didn't post my Achilles and Patroclus fic on ao3 then I could have submitted it to this short story competition
