Every Kdrama I’ve watched under the cut, to keep track and for recommendations.
Warning: Spoilers, few unpopular opinions ahead, please bear in mind: to each their own.
2009
·       You’re Beautiful – 16 amusing episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This was the era of female leads pretending to be male (Hana Kimi, Ouran etc), but I still loved it. We follow the story of the female lead (who was a Nun at the beginning) who pretended to be her twin brother and become a part of the country’s current hottest band because her twin had a cosmetic surgery mishap (lol). It’s mostly trying to fit in and try not to get exposed but of course our male lead discovered her true identity thus begin her suffering and second also knows but did not admit it thus begin his unrequited love and comic relief and best character in the series was left in the dark thus begin questioning his sexuality 7/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES. Park Shin Hye is love and Jang Geun Seuk’s smile is freaking adorable. 9/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? JEREMY AND SHINWOO AND JOLIE YES. 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? MOST DEF. I fell in love with PSH’s “Lovely Day” and “ Without Words”, ANJELL’s “Still” and “Promise” though I prefer Lee Hong Ki’s version 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? I’ll definitely rewatch, I would love to compare my opinion back in my tween years and opinion now   o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Episode 6 – Shin Woo and Mi Nam’s pseudo date (totally heartbreaking for tween me) Episode 11 – supermarket scene was the best, Episode 13 – Cooking scenes was hilarious, every scene with Jeremy, TAE KYUNG AND THE PIG o   Words Association: GO MI NAM, Pig-Rabbit, JOLIE!, Fly me to the moon, “hyung, vinegar?” o   Yes it has overused plots, common conflicts and family drama but the characters and their dynamics are truly worth watching this and if you need a good laugh (this drama has a looooot of funny scenes), this one is for you. 8/10
2011
·       Heartstrings – 15 forgotten episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s a college drama involving modern and traditional Korean music. I honest to God forgot the whole drama, I think there was rivalry between the main leads? 6/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? Not sure, but if it’s Park Shin Hye, I guess so, sorry I’m shit at remembering this drama o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I forgot so I guess not? o   Are the OSTs compelling? I am pretty sure it got an amazing Osts with having Park Shin Hye and CN Blue’s Yong Hwa but the only thing I remember was the song “Byeul” or Star and it was sung by the secondary character but it was really catchy o   Would you rewatch? Looks like I need to rewatch since I mostly forgot this drama o   Will rate once I have rewatched but if you shipped Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye’s characters in You’re Beautiful, this one is for you.
Then after years of Jdramas, Anime, Mangas, YA books I returned to Kdramaland in…
2018
·       Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo – 16 charming episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? College athletes’ coming of age drama, added a dash of love and friendship and dreams. Strong female lead and affectionate male lead, sign me the fuck up. 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I AM EMOTIONALLY INVESTED WITH THE LEADS PERSONAL AND LOVE LIVES. YES. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? YES EVEN THE CAMEOS (Hello Lee Jong Suk who I haven’t watched any of his drama yet at the time and Ji Soo) 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I downloaded 2 of their OSTs (You&I and Dreaming), it was the first Korean songs in my playlist 9/10 o   Would you rewatch? Absolutely o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: “BOK JOO, WATCH OUT!”, “YOU DIE, I WILL KILL YOU”, Snow kisses, the gang in the amusement park, THAT SCENE WITH JISOO AND JOO HYUK o   Word Association: SWAG, Messi, Chicken, Samgyupsal, WHAT, Chubs o   I totally recommend to everyone, it has a unique plot, still not over the main lead’s chemistry, you’ll fall in love with the whole story. 10/10
 ·       The Heirs – 20 clichéd episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s your typical rich man poor woman plot, high school setting oozing with alpha males and lots of trope scenes, if only female lead was also an heir or they develop more on her character it will be memorable, I can’t really differentiate with other dramas with the same plot – well except the male lead’s mother is not your typical mother who absolutely hates the female lead 3/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? No, not really more on the secondary characters, both male and female leads are meh 2/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? With the mute mother and FL’s bestfriend and his girlfriend yes, everyone else is forgettable 3/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I only remember “Love is a moment” because it was used by fanmade crack videos on youtube ahahaha 2/10 o   Would you rewatch? Probably no. o   I guess if you are a big fan of Boys Over Flowers and looking for the same genre this one’s for you, this did not really age well for me, probably would have loved this if I watched back when I was in highschool – reminds me of wattpad days. 3/10
 ·       W: Two Worlds – 16 enthralling episodes (Started 2018 Finished 2020)
o   Is the plot interesting? The plot is what compelled me to watch this drama, male lead is a webtoon character created by the female lead but made famous by her father. Male lead does not have your best childhood experiences but became really successful as an adult but there are mysterious instances that put his life on danger, the female lead (doctor) was drawn in on the comic and saved his life, unknowingly her actions changed the course of the story and it reflected on the comic in the real world – this was truly a good concept 9/10 because I actually forgot I started this drama last 2018 then rewatched and finished this 2020, I am still confused. o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? THE CHEMISTRY WAS ON THE ROOF ON THIS ONE. I DIDN’T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE OTHER CHARACTERS 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I was actually more focused on the main leads, did not exactly give much attention to other characters 3/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I only liked “Where are you” but it was sung by that guy who was jailed among other things so I don’t know how I feel now. Still the opening was lit o   Would you rewatch? Yes, I will try to fully understand what the mechanics or rules of being a webtoon character and being alive in the real world o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: KISS IN THE JAIL was the first thing that came to my mind, also real life scenes to comic scenes and vice versa- kudos to the artists, slap and kiss scene, the flashing scene, 4 romantic concepts scene, the adorable scenes recreating the illustration book, the transition when yeon Joo dropped her ring, the hospital bed scene o   Words Association: #4, handcuffs, all the winks, sudden “saranghaeyo”, ring, bus stop, “to be continued” o   This drama was amazing for the first 10 episodes then became complicated after, I loved the chemistry between the 2 main leads but unfortunately overpowered the whole story – don’t get me wrong I love love stories, but my reaction was the same as those who read the comics – too much cutesy stuff they forgot the storyline, I wanted them to explore the W show, but they focused on filling the plothole for the murderer which created more conflicts and confusing scenes. The line between the comic and real word created plot devices and more questions. This drama has flaws but cool premise though, I hate amnesia plot on any drama but it was well incorporated on this one. 8/10
·       Goblin – 16 amazing Episodes (Finished, rewatched 2020)
o   Is the plot interesting? A general in Goryeo dynasty got punished by the Gods to be immortal and his sword still in his chest only the Goblin bride can take it off so he can be at peace and die. Immortal lead with a side of grim reaper as best friend, charming female lead with a confident female boss – a story with reincarnation and ghosts, scenes that will tug your heart – yes, one of Kdrama Masterpiece 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? At first no no with the age gap but yes, I say while crying o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? HELL TO THE YES, DEOK HWA, GRAMPS, SECRETARY KIM, HELLO CUTIE TAE HEE, SUNNY AND GRIM REAPER 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL OSTS, particularly “Round and Round”, “I Miss You”, “Stay with Me” and even without lyrics I still worship “When the time stops” aka the music that speaks to your soul 10/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES ALREADY DID BRUH WILL DO AGAIN o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every bromance scene, I got hooked by the scene in the first ep where Eun Tak celebrated her birthday with her ghost mother, epic goblin and grim reaper modelling in the highway, everytime sunny flips her hair, grim reaper and his guests in the tea shop o   Word Association: Canada, sad love, candles, rain, chicken, tea, car crash *sorry not sorry* o   Totally recommended, well-deserved on its popularity. Will make you laugh and cry, at the same time. Acting skillz man. 10/10
 ·       Strong Woman Do Bong Soon – 16 whacky episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? Female lead has super strength which was actually passed down to every woman born in her family, she wants to be a game developer but instead got hired as bodyguard of our male lead who is a ceo of a gaming company 8/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I remember that I did, I was? I need to rewatch haha o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I remembered I did not like Ji soo’s character and don’t really remember other characters… o   Are the OSTs compelling? Can’t quite remember so I need to - o   Would you rewatch? Yeahp, will do o   I’ll do a rewatch before rating
I had a watch list back in 2018, but then I became busy with work and life until…
2020 (Details will be more longer since every Kdrama is still fresh on my mind)
·       My ID is Gangnam Beauty – 16 pretty episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? Basically, female lead deems herself ugly and undergone a plastic surgery to fully change her face before attending the university – but a popular guy back in highschool (junior high?) was also attending the same uni and recognized her – it’s a mellow sort of drama tackling Korean beauty and it’s extent, still cute story tho 7/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? We must protect Mi-rae at all cost, Cha Eun Woo’s character is a little bit emotionally constipated but Eun Woo is *swoon* 8/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I am all for Mi-rae’s family and childhood friend, Kyung Seok’s sister, Yoo eun was very notable as well, I love how her character is completely fair and understanding 7/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? “D-day” and “True” is a bop to listen to, everytime I hear “Something” all I remember is Cha Eun Woo’s slow mo glance, other OST is a bop but not enough for me to put on my playlist 6/10 o   Would you rewatch? Probably but not right now o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: New face dance, bathroom scene with Kyung Seok beating the shit out of their senior, whenever Kyung Seok is annoyed with Soo-A but total heart eyes mode with Mi Rae, Cinema pseudo date – eating popcorn using straws, when he changed the color of his hair, Kyung Seok’s ID when he was a waiter, their high school date, and that last sweet scene in the final episode o   Word Association: gangnam, perfume, plastic, umbrella, soju o   I wasn’t planning on watching kdramas again after a long time but this quarantine just makes you do things and no regrets at all, MIIGB probably isn’t the best of the best but it definitely made me want to watch more kdramas and lo and behold more kdramas watched in a span of 2 months than in a year back in 2018. I love how it tackles on true beauty and female oppression and how idiotic alpha male trope is 7/10
 ·       While You Were Sleeping – 16 not enough episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? A prosecutor, a reporter and a cop can see the future when they sleep, which helps them in solving cases and do their best to change it. Every case is fascinating makes you say “ohhhhh” when they present their defense and I am like *chef kiss* I love the premise and the supernatural part of the story. 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES. JAE CHAN AND HONG JOO ARE ADORKABLE AND HAS INSANE VISUALS  10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? HAVE YOU MET JUNG HAE IN, THE PROSECUTOR TEAM WAS THE BEST. YES. EVEN THE SIDE CHARACTERS ON CASES AND THE VILLAINS 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I usually don’t hear the OSTs while focusing on a scene but boy oh boy, OSTs stole everything, I am obsessed with the whole album. The melody and tune is very captivating everytime you hear it you just want to embed it on your brain. If you are still having second thoughts watching this drama, listen to it’s OSTs the feels they give is the same feels when you watch 1000/10 o   Would you rewatch? I’ve watched it again after finishing it so yes, 100% yes, need more episodes still having withdrawal syndrome, still watching fanmade videos on youtube o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every episode lol, the opening sequence, the outro scenes in episode 2 and 3 (with that background music), everytime “It’s you”, “You belong to my world”, “When night falls” and “I love you boy” is the bg music, every Jae Chan and Hong Joo parallel (Episode 2 and 16 particularly), OT3 scenes, the shadow picture, KISS IN THE RAIN, IN THE SAKURA TREE AND THE ALMOST KISS IN THE CAR if I list down all of my fave, I will be writing the whole summary of each episode. Hmmm. o   Words Association: Snow hug, sakura kiss, batman and robin, scarf, JUST ICE, choir, seatbelt, samgyupsal, femme fatale, lip balm o   I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ULTIMATE FAVE. I AM BIASED SHUTTUP. JUST WATCH. NONE CAN COMPARE. NUFF SAID. 100000/10 SOMEONE FANGIRL WITH ME
 ·       Pinocchio – 20 important episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This whole drama is about mass media and its major influence on anyone’s life and it is so powerful. We have a male lead whose family has experienced the impact of misguided news and it is painful to watch because this really happens irl at worse, this is due to a reporter which is our female lead’s mother. Now our female lead has Pinocchio Syndrome hence the drama title, she can’t help but hiccup when she lies, it’s very interesting to know why both leads wanted to be a reporter given their situation 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES, I JUST WANNA HUG THEM. Imagine having a condition that forces you to tell the truth, you can’t keep your feelings, privacy or secrets at all and to add an indifferent mother who did not care for your dreams but more on publicity. Imagine having a dream and working hard to reach it but after college you fail every job interview and it’s so realistic I just ashfdsjfha (Except the Pinocchio syndrome part but come on) Imagine experiencing a childhood where you don’t know what happened to your firefighter father, is the news about him running away true because it was his fault all those other firefighters are dead? Imagine your brother doing his best to hold your family together because your mother is on the verge of nervous breakdown to the point of pushing her to choose death, pulling you to a hug and just jump? Imagine this male lead fighting every chance to not love this girl who is the daughter of the reason why his family is gone now and could not leave her because she is also the reason why he decided to fight for the injustice done to his family and to others victims of fake news and they are so supportive of each other. It freaking hurts and I’m sorry I just have a lot of emotions for these two 1000000/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? YEEEEES, GRANDPA AND FATHER, I LOVE THEIR FAMILY DYNAMICS SO MUCH WHEN GRANDPA CRIED I CRIED! EVEN JA MYUNG HYUNG who has not enough episode in THEY DESERVE TO BE TOGETHER NOT JUST FOR ONE EPISODE. EVEN BEOM JU, YOO RAE, NITPICKER JANG, CAPTAIN, BOTH CAPTAINS ACTUALLY, CHAN SOO AND HIS FAMILY EVEN I LOVE TO HATE THE VILLAINS 100/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I was too focused on the intensity of the story but I do love the bg music –“First Love”, “The Only Person”, “Pinocchio” are few notable OSTs 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES FREAKING YES, I REWATCHED AFTER WATCHING IT o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Episode 16 as a whole, because main lead conflict with each other was resolved and that dinner scene is one I always rewatch, of course episode 1 introduction for Dal Po is freaking hilarious, Episode 2’s “Because I like you” damn feels, snow kiss, all the grandpa scenes and brother scenes, that scene when In ha remembered being drunk, that scene where Dal Po meets his brother again and I just ahjasgdjhsdgf, the intense debate and paralleling it in the seminar, the Christmas episode pyung pyung pyung my heart huhu o   Word Association: Six Degrees Separation, rumor, button, MSC/YGN News, traffic cones, hiccups, piggy banks, text messages, family o   EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS. I LOVE EVERY PART. IT WAS ON MY WATCHLIST LAST 2018 WHY DID I NOT WATCHED IT THEN. THE ACTING THOUGH YOU JUST FEEL THEIR INTENSE EMOTIONS THROUGH THE SCREEN. FEELS EVERYWHERE. 100000/10
 ·       Romance Is A Bonus Book – 16 heartwarming episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s about romance and books! Lee Jong Suk is on it what more can you ask for? Kidding aside it tells a story of a 30 something mother who to go back to work after 12 years which left a huge gap on her resume, she also got recently divorced and experiencing the repercussion of that, all of the job she applied for has focused on her work gap instead of her skills (which by the way as an HR a very hard truth). She applied as a support role on a publishing company and got hired but by omitting a lot of things on her resume. Oh and her childhood friend, our male lead is actually a co-owner and editor of the company. And he is also in love with her since high school. 9/10 but the fluffiness of the whole series is worth 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES, Dan-I is totally relatable and Eun Ho is lovable. I love their relationship so much they are each other’s home. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? With Hae-rin (COME OOON UNREQUITED LOVE AGAIN WITH LJS CHARACTER?), Seo Joon, President Kim, Manager Seo, and our very own Gangnam Leopard YES. Others not so much. 8/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? The OSTs are feel good, the kind of playlist you want to hear when you read or travelling, point to “Rainbow”, “Walking on Sunshine”, “Happy End”also the heart churning feels when “You’re Beautiful” and “ A Story I couldn’t see” begins playing in the bg 10/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES over and over and over again o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: The first episode with the wedding visuals, so aesthetic with the running in the highway, the power dance was so out of place but it was adorable, the scene where Dan-I reminisce her married life and it just breaks your heart, the essay part of her application is just motivating and sad, WHEN EUN HO WAS DRUNK AND WENT TO DAN-I’s PLACE BECAUSE HE ALWAYS GO THERE WHEN HE MISSES HER AND I JUST AHGSHJAGDKJGHJ, “If that’s love, I love her then”, GANGNAM LEOPARD CLUB SCENE, the subtle Snow confession (what’s with LJS and Snow???) the long brown overcoats comes out I’m there, when Eun Ho rejected Hae Rin so nicely I cry, movie date, the day Dan-I and Eun Ho spent together at their house, all the book pages at the end of each episode o   Words Association: THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL, noona, power pose, love letters, books, seasons change, cucumber allergy, April 23 o   This drama is literally a warm blanket on a rainy day. Recommended if you want a pure love story with almost no conflict and mellow storyline – just the thought of finding love and home in the same person is truly heartwarming. For aspiring writers and book lovers! Love the quotable quotes in it and the warm feels it gives 10/10
 ·       Extraordinary You – 16 extraordinary episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? We follow the story of the extras in a comic book. Get it? EXTRAordinary you, haha okaaaay, anyway, its fictional characters becoming aware that they are fictional characters and trying to change their fates, having a life of their own outside the “stage” and all around creating chaos – breaking the 4th wall if you will. We have your cliché high school filled with rich kids and an elite group called A3 (which was funny bc it was almost mocking F4), then we have the female lead who thought she was the main character of the story but was only the love bridge extra for the main characters. And our beautiful male lead who does not even have a name. Very attention-grabbing 10/10 also just found out the drama was based on a webtoon, so it’s a webtoon inside a webtoon nice. o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? Dan-Oh is a fun character to watch, her range of emotions and the way she acts in and out of the stage deserves a standing ovation, I don’t mind Ro Woon’s visual too haha 9/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? Yes to Lee Do Hwa (Because violin playing cutiepie), Joo Da (girl became aware and finally got claws at the end) and Dried Squid Fairy and Su Hyang (because their history is interesting) , not really into Bae Kyung or Nam Joo (who was 2dimensional character until the end) 8/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I loved all the instrumental background music especially “Highschool Runway”, Also “My Beauty” which was very kdrama-esque ending song 7/10 o   Would you rewatch? BIG YES o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every Dan-Oh and Do Hwa’s internal monologue and their bromance, every time Dan Oh breaks character but the page flips, every time she curse and criticize the writer, checking the male population’s back, when Dan-oh opened the umbrella and we got to see Haru’s face *dokidoki*, every reaction when they transition from stage to shadow, I mean kudos to Kim Hye Yoon’s acting from crying to laughing then from head over heels over Bae Kyung then cringing at herself , “It’s Bae Kyung Time”, the scene where Haru and Dan-oh was holding hands and here comes third wheel Do Hwa the way they reacted with Dan Oh’s “Annyeong Lee Do Hwa” made me rofl o   Word Association: AYUUU JINJJA, HARUYAAAAA, stage, shadow, page flips, October 10, secret, flower o   I love the concept and how it felt like writing fanfiction, you put your favorite characters in alternative universes or different setting and watch them fall in love all over again – in this case destiny also plays a huge part since the writer continuously separate them but they still fall in love with each other outside the stage. It’s fun to see the other side or the fillers whenever characters are not on acting on stage, they have more character depth and development. I definitely love the Sageuk and College AU part. 9/10
 ·       Graceful Family – 16 wild episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s a drama full of Makjang so we are riding on a rollercoaster ride, I am here for all of it gimme gimme that outrageous plot with a dash of crazy family on the side and a group of people who cleans up their messes 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? SEOK HEE IS THE BEST FEMALE LEAD YET FREAKING BADASS BITCH QUEEN. Yoon Do is okay but really overpowered by Seok Hee’s strong personality 10/10 for Seok Hee o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I am very interested in Ms. Han and the Top Team’s deal unfortunately it was not addressed further in the series, wouldn/t mind a mini sequel with them as the main characters, Choi Na Ri and Seo Jin is loooove, and I love Wan Soo with all my heart even after everything that happened 9/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? “Liar” is on my playlist solely for me to feel as badass as Seok Hee and “Black Diamond” because it plays with your emotions 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? Solely for all the WTF moments o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: ALL THE DINING TABLE SCENES, opening scene in the first episode got me hooked, all Seok Hee scenes made me stay, Wan Soo’s hilarious scenes, that whole hanbok shop scene, whole jail fiasco, when Seok Hee fights head to head with TOP management, PICASSO’S FUNERAL SCENE, Episode 9 when Choi Na Ri moved in, episode 15’s biggest plot twist, Episode 16 and it’s whole 1 hour and 45 minutes of drama o   Word Association: Home sweet home, Cannes, Picasso, power vacuum, kingmaker, Auntie o   It has a lot of flaws, plotholes and characters you wished was fleshed out but man what an exhilarating ride it was. I love all the dirty secrets in the closets and plot twists (won’t spoil just watch it!) but Seok Hee is definitely the show stealer for me. Soo Hyang’s character here is starkly different with her character in My ID is Gangnam Beauty and it’s really amazing. 9/10
 ·       Hi, Bye Mama – 16 heartbreaking episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This is all about mother’s love and the life she left behind. Our female lead died in an accident and has been a ghost for five years watching over her family especially her daughter, she watched how her family moved on – her husband remarried and her daughter grew up with a different mother. The Gods has given her a chance to live again if she gets back her place within 49 days – this means she get the chance to become human again and finally meet her daughter. 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I AM EMOTIONALLY INVESTED IN ALL OF THEM. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? SEO WOO YAAAAAA, Min Jung, her whole family and best friends even the other ghosts and their painful stories YES. 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I was busy crying and could not really hear the bg music because all I hear is my heart breaking a million times. But “Happy” made me happy and sad at the same time and the haunting “Same Town, New Story” instrumental is love o   Would you rewatch? I am not sure if I’m ready to cry again o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: whole episode 8 is where I broke down crying – I know this whole series is about mother’s and their unconditional love but episode 8 showed fathers and their incomparable love to their daughters and I just asjhdajksd the epilogue in this episode just made me cry nonstop – I am actually crying just remembering that scene, every epilogue will make you ugly cry, every time Seo Woo smiles, Episode 11 and that epic showdown in Kid’s café, when Yu Ri became human again and how happy she was she can hold Seo Woo, every scene with her and Seo Woo bonding, Gang Hwa and the egg,  the list of things she wants to do, when Seo Woo finally called her MAMA o   Words Association: mother, stepmom, ghosts,  “I am happy”, shaman, egg, 49 days o   I am emotionally exhausted watching this show, I cried on every episode, this definitely hurt me in every way possible. Highly recommended if you want a good long nonstop cry 10/10
Dramas I did not completely watched sans a few episodes, finished by skipping scenes or reading drama reviews. Warning: total unpopular opinions
2009
·       Boys Over Flowers – we all know Hana Yori Dango is superior, I just got bored of recycled scenes and I really don’t like LMH here, sorry
2018
·       Scarlet Heart Ryeo - Plot is very interesting but Sageuk dramas are not my cup of tea, reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi which I hated when I was a kid dunno why haha, will look for my motivation to watch the whole drama ·       Oh My Ghostess – got spoiled, skipped and just read episode summary
2020
·       Hello Monster – did not even finish 1st episode, skipped through episode 2 -3, too many plot holes, just read last episode spoilers ·       Hotel De Luna – finished 7 episodes got distracted by work and life. Plotline is interesting and characters look promising, will rewatch but I already know the spoilers and ending ·       School 2013 – just read the dramabeans episode reviews, may watch but reminds me of Gokusen concept (which I do love but very repetitive) so may not ·       Suspicious Partner – I liked the plot but unfortunately did not care too much on the main mystery of the whole show which was who the actual murderer is, did not like the shared childhood trauma, but acting still was good, its just the storyline ·       Doctor Stranger – I seriously would have loved to finish this because LJS’s acting skills on point (how can he be that seriously angry in North Korea then be clumsy adorkable in South? Howww) but alas, the female lead storyline is cringy I stopped at episode 6, read reviews and it would have been 20 wasted episodes for me ·       What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim – full of stereotypical tropes I could not finish, too romcom for me and could not invest too much about their history
Watchlist (2020)
·       Hospital Playlist ·       Crash Landing On You ·       Kill Me, Heal Me ·       I Am Not A Robot ·       Sky Castle ·      Love Alarm
Hit me up with your recommendations, better yet your favorite kdrama and reasons why it’s your fave!

The Question
>>>Read on AO3<<<
Felt like writing meaningless fluff, suffer with me. Or not. :)
Enjoy!
The sun was blocked by something, a person was hovering above Eren. By the dexterous fingers that were playing with his hair and by the reflections of the piercings in the person’s ears, it was rather easy to guess who it was. Then again, if Eren woke up with someone else but Mikasa in his bed, it would be quite a cause for concern.
“Hey there, model boy, slept well?”
Groggy as hell, yet Eren managed to create a crooked smile.
“Sleep was fine, but the morning is glorious anytime I get a look at your face.”
“Aw, that’s so nice.”, Mikasa heard this almost every day, yet it never failed to make those butterflies in her stomach flutter.
“I very much prefer it to waking up alone in the bed with you abusing the dance pole downstairs.”, he continued.
“Feeling neglected puppy?”, she asked, arching an eyebrow at his smirk.
Reaching out, he sneaked his arms around her waist, the grogginess retreating in favor of warmth blossoming inside his chest. He was so incredibly privileged to be waking up to this angel every morning, her sleep-tussled short midnight hair, those rosy lips curved into a smile,  the flawless pale skin reflecting the morning sun so beautifully, her soft curves hugged only by that tiny old sleeping shirt, shrunk just enough for Eren to catch a glimpse of her toned abdominals. The winking cartoon cat drawn on that shirt had to know, why else would it look so smug. His goth princess was just so perfect that it hurt sometimes. Meeting her pretty grey eyes, gently slanted thanks to her Japanese genes, he let the absolute bliss he was feeling show on his face in the form of a full smile.
“Let’s say I’d like if you rubbed on me first thing in the morning, not that cold, uncaring, steel thing.”
She returned his grin.
“Now that is a tempting offer if I ever heard one, alas, as much as I would like to take you up on the offer, I have to be at work early.”, throwing an important sight at the clock, she looked back at him, “And so should you.”
Slipping out of his hands, unholdable if she didn’t want to be, Mikasa headed to the bathroom to prepare herself for the day. While he already yearned for the feeling of her silky skin, so unjustly robbed of it, this situation gave him a perfect view. Her long, divinely shaped strong legs widening into the thick thighs and the firm flawless ass that was almost fully on display since her panties had wedged between her butt cheeks during the night. Understandably overpowered by his male genes, Eren took full advantage of the situation. Call him a pervert, but there was just something alluring about her backside that drew his eyes to it. When the object of his fascination disappeared behind the door, Eren let out the breath he didn’t even realize he was holding in, falling back into the sheets. What an ass. But he couldn’t just lie here and think about her, Mikasa was right when she said that it was high time to get out of the bed. The hospital was waiting, and last time Eren checked, people couldn’t perform surgeries on themselves. Rolling out, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror, of that blissful expression on his face. Mikasa just had that effect on him, time with her felt like a drug he was hopelessly addicted to. Well, maybe he could get another dose while having breakfast.
“Did you send the photos?”, Eren asked once they were sitting at the table with Mikasa stuffing her face with eggs.
Mouth full, she just nodded at him.
“And do you know when they will be published?”
She said something, but he couldn’t understand her over the food, so taking a sip of his coffee, Eren waited for his angel to properly chew and swallow. Mikasa was so charming sometimes.
“No idea, but it shouldn’t take long, all they do is slap them together with your name and that’s it.”, she drank some juice to wash the eggs down before continuing, “The readers of the magazine are the ones who vote on who they find the hottest, that’s how the winner is determined.”
“I see.”
Tapping his plate with a knife, Eren still wasn’t sure how to feel about this situation. He never wanted to be a model, his goal was always to become a doctor, yet he suddenly was turned into one. Looking over the table at his lovely fiancé finishing her food, he guessed that her case was kind of the same. Mikasa was an MMA fighter, and athlete ever since she first picked up the weights, it was Kiyomi who scouted her and tracked her down, convinced her to come work into the agency, if only as a secondary job. There was no way the raven would give up fighting and Kiyomi knew that. Eren still remembered how unsure Mikasa was about that whole modeling thing at first, doubtful that she would fit into that world, but she made it work and the results were amazing. But hell, maybe he was just overthinking it, there is always a chance that he won’t win, and nothing will come of this little contest.  Oh well, not much to do than wait.
Finished with her breakfast, Mikasa checked her phone for the time and stood up, ready to leave. Bending down only to press a quick kiss to his lips while murmuring goodbye, she pulled on her leather jacket, grabbing the helmet and bike keys from the rack and heading for the garage. Soon after, Eren heard the telltale sound of the powerful engine revving up and she was gone. Following in her footsteps, Eren got into his car, heading towards the hospital. Mikasa liked fast things, as her bike was living proof of, but his machine would give her a run for its money. The purr of the engine underneath the hood, sleek low profile, it was a luxurious sports car that Eren was driving, one of the things he allowed himself to spend a large amount of money on. He had to agree with his biker girlfriend that there were only a few things in life that felt like speeding it up on a highway. And it was amazing even for other things. Eren could still remember all those fun times he and Mikasa spent on the back seat, the front seat, on the hood of the car. The trunk too, but that was not as comfortable as that big ass hood, where he could lay her down all spread and wanting, her moans drowned in the purr of the engine as the vibrations ran through her whole body… His lips curved up thanks to those memories and his hands gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter. Good times that. Maybe he could ask Mikasa if she would up for a trip into romantic nature again, most importantly with no people around. Or maybe some people, Mikasa did enjoy a healthy bit of exhibitionism, now that he thought about it.
Pulling into his dedicated spot in the parking lot, Eren left the comfy interior of his car for the short walk towards the hospital door, his mind already switching into the doctor mode. Once he changed into his white coat, his mind was void of any fast cars or supermodel goth girlfriends, the only thing that mattered was who his patient is and how he could help them. As he walked into the break room, where the surgeons usually waited until they were needed, Eren saw Onya sitting at the table, going through his files. Exchanging a quick greeting with his friend, he headed for the coffee machine, only to be interrupted by someone tall and freckled. A friend he surely liked, but there was now that secret between the two of them, the promise that Eren wasn’t looking forward to fulfilling.
“Ymir.”, he addressed his friend, just a tiny bit nervous about all this. She was great and all but asking Ymir to keep a secret felt like banging a hammer into a bell and hoping that no one will notice. Outgoing as she was, he had a hard time believing that his lifestyle is safe with her.
“How can I help you?”
“Oh, you know, me and Krista were wondering if you had that discussion with your boyfriend.”
That made him arch an eyebrow.
“My boyfriend?”
“That strong, tattooed, Japanese fighter, who rides a bike and does all these masculine things… The one you love cooking for so much… Now, what is his name… Was it Mike? No… But I’m close…”, snapping her fingers, Ymir faked a thoughtful expression before brightening up, “I got it! Mikasa!”
The need to sigh was there, but Eren kept it in. Stay strong. Stay strong for the motherland.
“I did talk to her, and my lovely and very female fiancé says that she doesn’t mind.”
“That’s swell! So when can we expect you?”, from her expression, Eren would guess that Ymir just won a small lottery, “I have so many questions, I can’t wait to hear your stories and…”
“Soon.”, he cut her rambling off, “Soon, but not today.”
“You better not keep us waiting, friend, because when I keep something in my mind for too long…”, she smiled, a downright devilish grin, “My tongue might just slip…”
Murmuring a half-assed answer, Eren grabbed his coffee and walked over to where Onya was sitting, joining the other surgeon at the table. During his discussion with Ymir, he finished whatever files he was going through and was now scrolling through the phone. When Eren approached, he looked up with a pearly smile, that kind only Onya could pull off.
“Eren! I’m so glad you are here.”, waiting for his friend to sit, he scooted closer after, holding up the machine in his hand.
“I need your help.”, he whispered in a secretive tone.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“I’ve got two photos of myself here, and I need you to tell me in which I look better.”
Turning the screen for Eren to see, he showed him the first, a classic selfie into the mirror, and then the second, a sensual photo of Onya lying on the table, smirking into the camera. Oh, and he was stripped down to his boxers in both.
“Uhm, are you sure that I’m the right person to ask about this?”, Eren asked, “I’m sure that girls would help you rate this better. Or some guys.”
“No no, I need a male perspective.”, Onya disagreed, “You see there is this contest going on in a magazine, and all the readers will vote, meaning that…”
“Wait a second, you are entering that contest too?”
Onya’s eyebrows rode up.
“Oooh, are you taking part, my friend?”
“Mikasa made me…”
“That makes sense, your goth goddess is a very smart one. Maybe it’s those Asian genes.”
So Onya thought that Mikasa was the brains, Ymir thought that she was the brawns, what was Eren left with? The beauty? Recalling this morning and remembering that radiant smile on her flawless face that put even the sun to shame, he had to shake his head. No, that did not work either. Oh well, that’s what you get when you date a woman like Mikasa. One of a kind. Shaking his head, Eren focused back on the photos Onya was presenting him with. It did not matter that he was theoretically helping the competition, Onya was Eren’s friend, and he would do his best to help him succeed.
“I think that photo of you on the table is good, a bit more original than just the selfie.”
“Thank you, I thought so too.”, pocketing his phone, Onya collected the files and stood up, needing to be elsewhere, “Let the sexiest surgeon win, right?”
“Right. I’ll see you around man.”
Work was exactly as stimulating as always, clearing Eren’s mind of everything but the patients. They came and went and he did everything in his power to help. Just as he came back from surgery, checking his pager on where he was needed next, a person dressed in scrubs burst into the break room.
“Hey, you!”, it shouted.
Looking left and right, Eren saw that he was the only person here, meaning that he had to be the one. Out of courtesy, he still asked.
“Me?”
“Yes, you.”, coming closer, the person pulled down his surgical mask, “I need help.”
It was another doctor, but Eren did not know him very closely. From what he remembered, he worked at the maternity ward, and while Eren sometimes did surgeries on mothers it was not the main part of his work. But if there was someone in a need of aid, it is not like the heart would allow him to say no.
“Okay, what’s wrong?”
“I have a woman going to labor, and the nurse who was supposed to help me is nowhere to be found.”
“But…”
“No time to explain,”, continued the man, “I can’t search the whole hospital, come on!”
With that, he was out of the door before Eren even managed to answer, not even looking if he was following. There were supposed to be back-up nurses, people who were there for exactly this situation, but that did not matter at this moment. There was a person who needed help. Rushing through the hospital they reached the maternity ward and the exact room they were looking for, slipping inside. Judging from the cries of the woman, she was in pain, writhing around on the bed. The man beside her holding her hand, most likely the father, was pale above the mask, eyes wide.
“Just do what I tell you.”, the doctor instructed Eren as they were quickly washing their hands and pulling gloves on, “If everything goes well I won’t even need you, but there are always possibilities of complications.”
“I’m a surgeon myself, I know a thing or two about complications.”
They exchanged a firm nod.
“Good.”
There was a lot of blood. There was a lot of screaming. There were a lot of tears. While both Eren and the other doctor had no problems with blood and other bodily fluids, the father looked like he was about to throw up on several occasions. But the labor went on without a hitch, and when the doctor pulled the baby out of her Eren felt his breathing stop. As per instructions, he held out the blanket and was handed the child, wrapping the tiny boy up. There he was, a tiny bundle of life in his hands, looking at him with bright blue eyes, his face just a little bit angry. That was understandable, considering that the baby was just ripped from the comfort of the mother’s womb and into a stranger’s embrace. But the fact that the child was here, Eren still couldn’t believe it. He wasn’t stupid, of course he knew how this whole thing works, but this event just struck differently. It reached down into some parts of him that he thought only Mikasa can touch, those that left him feeling as if he was high on life. Staring at the baby, Eren was pulled out of his trance by the father who cleared his throat.
“Can I…?”, he asked, reaching out.
“Of course, here.”, giving the bundle away, Eren hated how it empty it made him feel, but there was no other way. This was not his son, he shouldn’t even be here.
“Congratulations,”, he forced himself to say, glad that the surgical mask was hiding the expression on his face, “You have a healthy boy.”
And that was it.
Back in the break room, Eren stared at his hands, unable to break out of this mood. He held life in them, just a few minutes past, a child, and it made him feel all giddy inside. But why was that? Why was he feeling like this? In his life, Eren had control over himself, he knew what to do and how to feel, could control his emotions, but not now. And there was only one person who could help him decipher this. Reaching into his pocket, Eren pulled out his phone, dialing a familiar number.
It rang once, twice, and then someone picked up on the other end.
“Hey mom, can we talk?”
Carla opened the door on the first knock, immediately enveloping her son in a hug. Pulling back, she looked over his shoulder to see the car, her brows pulling together.
“Is that a new one? Looks dangerous.”, she sighed, “I just hope that you are driving safe.”
“Mom, Mikasa is riding a bike, shouldn’t you be worried about her?”
“But Mikasa is always so careful, and you…”, she poked him in the chest, “You do have that bad boy energy around you.”
Unsure how to even reply to that, Eren was saved from needing to answer when Carla stepped aside, ushering him inside the house. There was sweet smell everywhere and judging from the supplies it was easy to guess what Carla was doing.
“Baking?”, Eren asked as he sat down, getting a nod in reply.
“Cookies.”, she specified, handing him a plate.
When Eren took a bite, he wasn’t surprised to find how amazing they tasted. Most of the things he knew about cooking came from Carla, and from everyone’s opinions, he was pretty good in the kitchen. Sitting down herself, Carla joined him at the table, watching him wolf down the rest of the plate with a smile. It was good to see that her boy had an appetite, he was so tall and broad-shouldered, there was a lot of energy needed to fuel his body.
“So,”, she began, once the plate was empty, “How have you been doing lately?”
“Same old, you know how it is.”
“Not as much now, no,” she sighed, “It’s been some time since you came to visit…”
Eren’s expression twisted a bit.
“I..”
“Oh no, I don’t mean it like that.”, she waved her hand, “I know that you are busy with important work and I don’t blame you. But you didn’t come here to listen to me ramble, did you?”
“No…”, Eren took a deep breath.
And told her everything. Carla listened intently covering her mouth with her hand when Eren described his feelings to the best of his ability. And when he finished, she looked at him with eyes that had a hint of tears in them.
“Mom, why did I feel like that? I just…”, he stared at his hands, “When I held the baby, I didn’t want to give him away, get it?”
He laughed, mirthlessly.
“I didn’t want to give a newborn baby to its father, what kind of a doctor am I?”
“It’s not about you being a bad doctor.”
“Then why?”
“Isn’t it obvious? You just want your own.”
“W-What? But…”, but the more he thought about it, the more sense it made.
“You are still young,…”, Carla pointed out, seeing the confusion in his face.
“On the other hand, I’m not getting any younger.”, Eren chimed in.
“…but I guess your parental instincts have started to kick in.”, she continued, undisturbed, “Am I wrong?”
Closing his eyes, Eren could almost imagine if that bundle in his hands had those emerald greens that he had, could almost see the slanted shape of its eyes coming from Mikasa. There was no denying it now, his mother was right. As usual.
“Eren, If you want to start a family this much, I believe there is a certain other lady you should be talking to, not your old mother.”
The flicker of doubt on his face alerted her.
“You did talk about it with her at least once, no?”
“Well, I…”
“Honey, you’ve been dating for over five years, you’ve been engaged for over two, and you want to tell me that you didn’t talk about starting a family?”
“No.. not really. It’s just so comfortable as it is now, you know, being engaged and stuff.”, Eren rubbed his forehead, “We got so used to it, moving on is just too much of a bother.”
“That is not very responsible Eren.”, he could hear the disagreement from Carla’s voice, “Don’t you want to spend the rest of your life with her?”
“Of course I do! I love her, I love her so much, but…”
“But what?”
Well, if Carla wanted to hear it, Eren would share.
“The reason why I even asked her to marry me, the reason we got engaged, it was because when I looked at Mikasa I couldn’t just think of her as my girlfriend, it didn’t feel right. Dating in college, we were surrounded by all these couples, by the dudes who had a girlfriend for a week and a few days later it was some other chick, suddenly a girlfriend too. I just needed something solid, some way to show the world that we belong together, something more than just the whole girlfriend-boyfriend thing.” , Eren sighed, watching his hands, folded on the table, “She’s my other half mom, and I know that nowadays people toss those terms around like its nothing, but I really can’t imagine living without her, my life would be just so…. bland? Mikasa is my better half too, in everything, my chest hurts when I even think about us breaking up. I love her too much, I can’t even put it into words correctly.”
Carla watched him over the table, watched how he crumbled beneath the weight of those words. There was no denying that Eren had it bad, Mikasa had enchanted him in the most intense possible way. He would kill or die for her without a second thought and it felt strange knowing that there is a woman with this much power over her son.
“Eren,”, she began, carefully constructing the question she was about to ask, “hypothetically, if Mikasa said that she didn’t want to have children with you, ever, what would you do?”
He thought that question, he did, turned it over in his head multiple times, but the answer that was staring him right into the face wouldn’t budge. His brain was hardwired too much.
“I would stay with her anyway. I couldn’t have a life with anyone else, I just can’t. Mikasa is the perfect woman for me, I would never give her up. Leaving is not an option.”
As far as he knew, he couldn’t even have children with anyone else but Mikasa, if his sad adventures were of any indication. Not that his mom knew about that.
It was an answer that Carla expected, but hearing Eren say it cemented it. Mikasa was just too important for him, there was nothing that would make him leave her. His and the goth’s fates were intertwined, and Carla just wished that there was a happy ending waiting for them.
“Well, then you have to ask her, and pray that you two are on the same page regarding kids.”, reaching out, she put a reassuring hand over Eren’s, “I’m sure you will.”
Looking up, he offered her a reserved smile.
“I hope so too mom, I hope so too.”
Just at that moment, the oven dinged, letting them know that another batch of cookies was ready. Startled by the beep, Carla took a moment to compose herself before walking over and opening the machine, letting the sweet smell in.
“You want some more?” she asked her son, who nodded before even really thinking about it.
Carla’s cookies were just too good to pass on, no matter what conversation you had before. And the shift in the topic also gave him a chance to show his new ink to mom, Carla was in for a surprise. With a sly grin, Eren began.
“Hey mom, do you know what I and Mikasa got done recently?”
When Mikasa came home, the lights were put on a dim setting and there was somber music playing from the speakers. Unzipping her jacket, she stepped into the living room, noticing that Eren was sitting on the sofa, obviously waiting for her. There was a bottle of whiskey on the table with a half-full glass next to it too. Something was going on, she could say, but there was no way of telling what it was unless she asked. So, walking over to her fiancé, she sat down next to him.
“Hey baby,” she began.
For some weird reason, the pet name made his lips tighten, which was unusual since she often called him that.
“Mikasa.”, his voice was somber, free of any playful undertones, “Hello.”
So this wasn’t a setup to roleplay then, Eren was dead serious. His eyes were a bit bloodshot but completely clear, meaning that while he drank a bit, he wasn’t drunk and he’s aware of everything he’s going to say. Or do.
Mirroring his seriousness, Mikasa sat up a bit straighter.
“Eren, what’s going on?”
“I need to ask you something, and please, answer as truthfully as you can.”
“Very well.”, whatever this was, it made Mikasa’s stomach shrink in anticipation, “Ask.”
All right, here goes nothing. Or everything. Throat dry, Eren almost coughed out the question, forcing himself to finish the sentence before he completely crumbles under the pressure.
“Mikasa, would you ever consider having a family with me? Children?”
She stared at him, obviously taken aback by this. She stared at him for a long time. Long enough for Eren’s mind to come up with the worst possible scenarios. Is she going to laugh at him? Is she going to stand up and walk away? Is she going to just say no uncaringly, because she’s never been big on families? Is she…
Mikasa couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Was this that big question that got Eren so stressed out? This? How could he be so dense…
“Yes! Of course I want to have kids with you! I love you, what can’t you understand about that?”
Eren’s eyes widened.
“You mean…”
“I have been with you for years, why would I do that if I didn’t want to have a family? Why..”
Whatever else she wanted to say was swallowed by Eren because he lunged forward, pressing his mouth against hers with a burning passion. Tongue swiping across the seam of her lips, he tasted a bit like the whiskey he drank, but it was not an unpleasant aroma. Judging from aggressively he attacked her, Eren would be fine with just this answer, but Mikasa wanted to elaborate on her point. Pushing gently on his chest, he immediately got the hint, ending the kiss and sitting back, giving her space.
“I do want to have kids with you, just…”
“Not yet.”, he finished for her.
“Exactly. I have so much going on right now, my MMA career, the fashion work and…”
“I understand, we don’t have to rush things.”, reaching out, Eren enveloped her in a warm hug, pressing her against his body, “Just knowing that you want to have a family with me is more than enough.”
Hugging him back, Mikasa let herself be held, enjoying how it felt, how naturally their bodies molded into one.
“Let’s do it like this.”, he offered, “If you ever think about it, just take an automatic yes from me. Any time is fine.”
“Shouldn’t it be our mutual decision?”, Mikasa argued from somewhere above his heart, squished against his chest.
“Yes, of course, but the pregnancy is bound to affect you more than me.”, once the words left his mouth, Eren realized how selfish that sound, so he quickly assured her, “Which doesn’t mean that I won’t be with you every step of the way.”
“So what you’re saying is that I should surprise you with a kid out of nowhere.”
His grin was infectious.
“Basically. We have a house, a stable income, we have the means to have a child. When you think you are ready, just go for it, I can assure you that I want it.”
“I’ll still probably ask first.”, Mikasa murmured, not entirely comfortable with just dropping the k-bomb on Eren out of nowhere.
“That’s fine too, but I don’t think I’ll ever change my mind about having a family with you.”
“I’m sure our children will be amazing.”, she breathed against his shirt, earning a warm smile.
“Anyone related to you is amazing,” he murmured into her hairline, pressing a kiss to it afterward. “You are a goddess, remember?
“Goddess of what?”
“War, beauty, or maybe both. Yeah, both are good”
Goddess Mikasa? It had a nice ring to it. She almost purred at that over the top praise but had to voice a slight comment.
“Not everyone in my family is so great.”, Mikasa added. “Don’t forget Levi.”
Eren just laughed at that, hugging her a bit tighter. When he finally let her go, there was that familiar joy in his face, the worry she saw when coming home completely chased away by her words. With the big bad out of the way, Eren reached out to fill the glass again, offering her the whiskey. Satisfied with the ice cube floating around in the liquor, guaranteeing that it will be cold, she took a sip, grimacing after. Strong stuff.
“Did you know that Onya also entered that amateur model contest?”, he asked, watching her put the glass back down.
“He did?”
“Yep. He’s kind of sure that he’s winning that thing.”
“Well, Onya is in for a surprise then.”, wrapping her arms around Eren’s neck, she pulled him closer, voice dropping into a whisper, “No one is sexier than my puppy.”
“The photographer played a huge part too. She was the best.”
“Even the best would still need a good model to work with, and you were amazing. This contest is in the bag.”
Not sure how to thank her for the vote of confidence, Eren settled for another kiss, feeling Mikasa melt into his hands. The kisses were chaste at first, but then Mikasa climbed into his lap and things got more heated. Lips locked, tongues coming out to play, teeth sinking into flesh. When Mikasa broke away for air, he traced his mouth down her neck, biting into her flawless skin. She let out a breathless giggle at that, the one that was of pure joy and her bell-like laughter went right into Eren’s heart. Her fingers were at his nape, massaging the skin, while he sucked a dark mark into her paleness, soothing the skin with his tongue after. Not ready to give up his freedom yet, he moved his mouth upwards then, past her pouting lips and focusing on those amazingly sensitive ears of hers. With great care, he used the tip of his tongue to toy with her piercings, those simple motions making her breathing agitated. Mikasa had so many, placed in different parts of her ears, it took him some time before he traced them all but Eren would not leave any stop out of his journey. And when he reached the bottom and sank his teeth into her earlobe, Mikasa moaned out loud, earning a smirk. Satisfied, Eren returned to her upturned lips, once again claiming them.
She tasted so good, like nothing else in this world, and he would never get enough of it. Coaxing her mouth to open for him, the kiss deepened. Mapping her mouth with his tongue, Eren enjoyed every second of this with every fiber of his being. She was so incredibly sexy like this, with swollen lips and hooded eyes, burning with desire, but he was in no rush to escalate things. He and Mikasa, they had all the time in the world. For now, just kissing her was more than enough, it was a blessing right from heaven.
Eren was so happy, knowing that Mikasa wanted to have a family with him, nothing else mattered at this moment. Here, sitting on the sofa with her, just making out, he could probably do this whole night. Hell, he probably will end up doing it. Who cares for all those black lipstick traces that Mikasa will leave all over his face, Eren surely doesn’t mind. She’s been doing that to him ever since college, ever since they exchanged their first kiss, the eternal goth that she was, and he has long since grown accustomed to having black lipstick on both his clothes and skin. Midnight-colored proofs of the dark princess’ affection.
Those stains were a blessing.

Music Fans - He runs a small but successful punk rock music label. If you’re into rock, punk, or even just a music fan, you’ve probably heard of Blacksong Records or even one of his bands. You may even know his face from music magazines; he’s often in the background at concerts or industry parties. Feel free to mention it!
Pirates & Sailors - He used to run a very successful and well known salvage company (Atlas Treasure Salvage, or ATS). They were well known in the Booty Bay, Bilgewater, and Orgrimmar ports. It’s possible you saw him around “in the old days”.
Drugs - He’s well connected among drug dealers as both a buyer and seller. Got a big party you want to sell to? He’s your in. Or maybe you’re looking for pure quality and tired of thugs selling you stems in the Drag? He’ll get you the good stuff if you’re willing to pay top coin.
Motorcycles - He’s a frequent shopper at gear head garages around Quel’Thalas. He also stops off at biker taverns for a pint on the way home from work. You may have seen him. Or maybe you just notice the brand of his jacket or boots are a familiar favourite amongst aficionados.
Gossip Rags - Is your character SUPER into Silvermoon tabloids? Iloam is “reportedly” dating one of the hottest couples of the SMC Elite crowd, Baron & Baroness Aelberyn & Jericho Bloodsword. Paps frequently snap them slipping into vine covered cafes and exclusive night clubs. Your character may have a theory on the whole ‘are they or arent they’ debate that keeps socialites guessing on the trio’s relationships status.

Mun is 21+ in age. Dark themes/ERP friendly.
I have been playing WoW since the beta for Vanilla and gone through many phases of enjoying PvE aspect (including a raiding guild), but at this point I only play for RP and have no interest in game play. I prefer Discord text RP for 1:1 or small group scenes. I generally only login to game for RP events or by request.
For text RP, I am very bad about forum style/casual post RP and will generally lose track of it quickly. I also try to stray from forum style post on Tumblr for the same reason. The best way to RP with me to set a date/time to both login to Discord or game and set aside several hours to write out a scene together.
I’m a very fast typer and tend to do multi-para for scene sets only, and then fall into a more natural rhythm as the scene plays out. I do not ask that partners match my post length.
Communication is very important to me. OOC discussion of dark themes or comfort level with ERP will be discussed first. I am happy to FTB or avoid topics that are triggering. I also ask that my partners always feel comfortable letting me know if for any reason big or small, they need to cancel a scene or are not feeling up to it. Real life will always come first.

Creative Labs - Interview With Gavin Rummery - Tomb Raider 1
Interview appeared on Creative Labs website, and covered by The Croft Times.
Tomb Raider is arguably labelled as the hottest 3D game today. We took some time recently to talk with Tomb Raider programmer, Gavin Rummery, about Tomb Raider and what's in store with the upcoming sequel, Tomb Raider 2.
Inside Track:
First off, who's the real Lara Croft? Was she designed with a particular person in mind, fictional or otherwise?
Gavin:
No, Lara is an entirely fictional creation from the mind of Toby Gard (our lead artist on Tomb Raider). He was tired of seeing generic muscle bound males as the heroes of every action game/film, and thought an athletic female character who relied more on agility than strength would be more interesting.
Inside Track:
How did the Tomb Raider story come about? What led to its conception?
Gavin:
The story was written by our script writer Vicky Arnold and Toby. The basic idea was that the game would start off very normal in fairly realistic environments, but by the end would become very strange with Lara taking on all kinds of weird creatures. Thus Natla starts out seeming like a normal human, but turns out to be an ancient Atlantean ruler with the final levels taking place in the remains of Atlantis.
The other aim was to keep the story snappy and the FMVs as action packed as possible as there's nothing worse than playing games with long boring FMV sequences. In the end, it turns out that most people enjoyed the FMVs because of this, but didn't really understand the story!
Inside Track:
Tomb Raider is arguably the most best 3D game ever. Was it as difficult to develop as it looks?
Gavin:
Yeah, it was very difficult. We set out right from the start to do things that no-one else had attempted before. Tomb Raider is a 3rd person game set in a true 3D environment where the player is free to go anywhere, whereas most 3rd person games are basically 2D maps rather than full 3D. The biggest challenges were getting Lara to interact with such a complex environment (which led to the requirement of hundreds of animations) and coming up with a computer controlled camera that was smart enough to view Lara in any situation, both of which were caused by trying to do a 3rd person game rather than a 1st person perspective like Doom.
Inside Track:
There is a huge difference between non-3D and 3D accelerated versions. Did this difference surprise you?
Gavin:
Not at all. On the PC, over 80% of the processing time is spent drawing the polygons onto the screen. When you put in a 3D accelerator, the drawing is taken over by the graphics card, which can not only draw polygons much faster than a Pentium, but can do it while the processor is doing the stuff that accounts for the other 20%. This means that everything goes much, much quicker, as each frame takes much less time create.
Another advantage of many graphics cards is that they have better polygon drawing and effects (smoothing the pixels of the texture maps to avoid blockiness being the most obvious), which make the game look much better than the software only version.
Inside Track:
Looking back at Tomb Raider, was there any portion which you think could have been improved?
Gavin:
The 3D system on the PC was a little flaky (sometimes objects can be seen through walls/floors when they shouldn't be), so that needs sorting out for the sequel. Also, the camera system was never quite as good as I wanted - but a computer controlled camera is always going to be a bit dumb.
Inside Track:
Now that work for Tomb Raider 2 is on, what new features will there be in the sequel?
Gavin:
Well, we've all kinds of ideas, most of which I'm not going to tell you about! However, we are planning to use more dynamic lighting - things like flares and explosions that light up their surroundings. And there'll be more human bad guys to fight too.
Inside Track:
With most games nowadays having Multiplayer features, would having such a feature actually enhance a game like Tomb Raider?
Gavin:
A LOT of people want a multi-player feature, but I've yet to hear a good suggestion for how it would play. Fundamentally, Tomb Raider is a one player game and most of the enjoyment comes from exploring the maps and sorting out the puzzles - neither of which would really make sense in a multi-player game.
Inside Track:
Finally, when will we be able to play Tomb Raider 2?
Gavin:
Sometime late November '97.

Hi! Could I possibly get a matchup? I'm a 5'9 female with a very tomboyish style. I'll wear anything and everything as long as it isn't way to revealing. I tend to steal my brother's clothes and I also have a lot of hand-me-downs. I wear lost of graphic tees and ripped jeans. I have bleached hair that's currently dyed half red and half blonde with my brown roots showing and green/blue eyes. I have lots of scars all over my arms and legs from playing sports and from when I was little. 😔 1/2
I'm really into art and I love painting anything and everything. I have lots of sketchbooks that are half full. I have lots of half finished canvases as well. I play basketball, run track, and I'm a cheerleader. I've played basketball and been a cheerleader for 4 years and I'm planning on continuing. I've run track for 3 years and I'm unsure whether I actually like it or not. My favorite colors are yellow and orange and my favorite animals are pigeons and squirrels. I am constantly readin 😔 2/2

15 childhood crushes that embarrassingly ushered me into puberty EXPLAINED! (Pt. 2)
10) Jenny Blake from The Rocketeer (1991)
Tumblr media
I have weird memories of The Rocketeer in that my family owned it on VHS and I watched it several times as a kid, but for the life of me I can barely remember the plot of the film (something about Nazis, the mafia, and Howard Hughes?) But damn do I remember Jennifer Connelly, going from playing the bratty teen heroine in The Labyrinth to playing this role, which she is so unfathomably stunning to the point where she looks like a painting of a pin-up girl on a B-52 bomber come to life. Connelly as most of us know would go on to have a successful Oscar-winning Hollywood career, which she undoubtedly deserves for being a fantastic actor...but she’s also adopted the Hollywood waifishly thin lifestyle. I’m probably not alone in preferring a full-figured Jennifer over the 0% body fat A-Lister she’s become. I’m not shallow, I just grew up with hearts in my eyes for a sexy full-figured woman with more curves than Mulholland Drive. Va-va-va-vroom!
9) Lola Bunny from Space Jam (1996)
Tumblr media
Ooooooook. Oh boy--where do we begin on this one?
It’s one thing to crush on the fictional cartoon characters I’ve previously mentioned. Sure, Jessica Rabbit and Jasmine aren’t real but they’re animated representations of female human beings, with Jessica being created specifically as a caricature which you’re supposed to be sexually aroused by. There are other animated ladies on this list I’ll get to, but none is more confusing and rather inexplicable as Lola Bunny from Space Jam. And when I say “inexplicable,” I mean it -- I don’t know WHY I was attracted to this non-humanoid anthropomorphic rabbit who most of us recall was created as a love interest for Bugs Bunny despite having never appeared in any Looney Tunes related content prior to the movie and, as far as I know, hasn’t become a mainstay since then. She’s also good at basketball...and apparently has been adopted as feminist icon for her “don’t ever call me doll” persona and athletic ability. I supposed that explains the attraction I had to her, along with her breathy baby voice and her Toon Squad jersey that was pretty much a sports bra and athletic boy shorts that accentuated her rather voluptuous curves--UM, WOW, let’s just move on?!
(it also doesn’t help that cosplayers are now “humanizing” her at comic conventions...)
8) Belle from Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Tumblr media
Heeey, speaking of implied beastiality...
(shut up, I know)
While Ariel was the first Disney princess I became fond out in my early childhood, Belle was definitely my first crush. If you were to take all the character traits I talked about Ariel and Jasmine having that made them such endearing characters and combine them into one character, you would get Belle. She’s intelligent, independent, inquisitive, and rejects societal expectations in lieu of wanting more than some provincial life. More importantly, she’s selfless, empathetic, and lacks shallowness, all which plays in her favor when the film’s title finally pays off. There is, of course, her other attributes which help her live up to the film’s eponymous title: Belle’s unique look makes her not only one of the most beautiful Disney princesses, but also one of the hottest. If you’re puzzled about what’s so “unique” about her look, Belle was the first DP to have brunette hair and brown/hazel eyes. That’s right, after fifty-four goddamn years of showing blue-eyed/blonde-hair Aryan damsels in constant distress, Disney added some color to their characters--er, WELL, um, at least Belle was not a passive victim like her predecessors who just waited for Prince Charming to show up.
Also, seriously, just scroll back up and watch that GIF a couple times. HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE BELLE??
7) Dr. Chase Meridian from Batman Forever (1995)
Tumblr media
So does anybody even remember Batman Forever? It seems to be the one Batman movie nobody seems to have a definitive opinion regarding. Then again, Batman movies seem to be judged on a binary system; they’re either the brilliant, near flawless The Dark Knight -- or the total nuclear meltdown shitshow of Batman & Robin. And right smack dab in the middle of this scale is Batman Forever, a movie that is awful in every sense of the word but is vastly more competent and enjoyable that its successor. One of the subplots deals with Bruce Wayne finally acting like a responsible human being and not the raging billionaire psychopath who beats up criminals from Gotham’s lower-socioeconomic class which he thinks makes him better than the villains and visits psychologist Dr. Chase Meridian.
Like Lola Bunny, Dr. Meridian is a character who has never existed in any Batman/DC Comics medium, with her sole purpose being love interest to both Bruce Wayne *AND* Batman because tension(?) Then the movie ends and Chase is never seen, heard, or spoken of ever again in anything Batman related. Nevertheless, this was my first exposure to Nicole Kidman and I was quickly enamored by her beauty and seductive charm, which while was undeniably sexy coming from her breathy voice and Veronica Lake hair, it also makes for a confusing narrative. See, Chase isn’t a villain, but acts like a femme fatale looking to ruin Wayne with lust and psychology.
6) Janet...Miss Jackson, If Ya Nasty*
Tumblr media
*yeah, I went there
Being born in the mid-80’s and growing up during the 90’s — where before the term “Millennial” was uttered, my generation was referred to as “Reagan Babies” — you bet your ass I was raised on a steady pop culture diet of Michael Jackson. By the time I was old enough to start listening to music that wasn’t Raffi or Disney sing-alongs on cassette tapes (jfgi, kids), MJ had already reigned as the King of Pop for over a decade with the albums Thriller and Bad. Sure, I was aware of the Jackson Family, but if you rattled off the names Jermaine, Randy, Jackie, Marlon, La Toya, and Tito to me, I’d give you a deer-staring-at-another-deer-staring-in-headlights look. Far as I know, there were only two Jacksons: Michael, and his little sister Janet...Miss Jackso--NOPE, not gonna milk it.
Contrary to my lame-ass dated reference, I got into Janet much later than the Control / Rhythm Nation era. Oh I knew her music fairly well, from her duet with brother Michael on the song “Scream”, to the mid-90′s pop/House/dance track “Together Again”, but it wasn’t until her 2001 comeback as a pop superstar with the album All For You did I go from viewing Janet as the “cool and badass sister of MJ” to “daaaaaaaamn, girl!” She could dance like no other, sing infectiously catchy tunes, and showed off a bubbly, fun personality. Oh yeah, she also had an impossibly perfect body, managing to be in better shape than most (if not all) of the teenybopper pop stars of the time nearly half her age. And that was all before I listened to her song “Would You Mind” off the album...wooooo [*wipes sweat off forehead*]

With the impending release of his fifth studio album — the first since the four-time platinum, Grammy-nominated 2016 Views — Drake has many questions surrounding him. Can he again move a million units in a week? Can he prove all the doubters wrong after two years of ghostwriting allegations? Can he top “Hotline Bling” or “One Dance”? Can More Life overtake Take Care as Drake’s undoubted classic album?

But also, can he, like so many artists in 2016 — Beyoncé (Lemonade), Solange (A Seat at the Table), Rihanna (Anti), Kanye West (The Life of Pablo), Young Thug (Jeffery) — take risks on his new album, exposing a deeper version of himself? Drake and his legion of fans — and his seemingly equal number of detractors — are waiting with bated breath for March 18 to see what the 6 God has been cooking up. But before we can call the new project “classic” or “trash,” before we spend the next few weeks debating the best and worst tracks, here’s the most important question that Drake has to answer: Can he stop attempting to control women?
Over the past eight years, Drake’s built up a reputation as being the compassionate and less threatening (read: soft) rapper who appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, cuddles up with professional athletes, and gets tattoos of Aaliyah. He’s played the role of Nice Guy by constantly smiling, and apparently wearing his heart on his sleeve. This appeals to the sensitivities of the women in his fan base. But, as is often the case with these so-called nice guys, Drake plays the charmer — he’ll call you beautiful, open doors for you and send you smiley-face emojis — but the minute he has sex with you, or you move on to someone else, he turns into Michael Ealy in The Perfect Guy.
Drake’s corniness, outward kindness and lack of sexual aggression has been misinterpreted as an overarching respect for women. He’s even been referred to as a feminist. But Drake is as much a feminist as Rachel Dolezal is a black woman. His entire catalog is steeped in respectability politics, accepting women so far as their body count goes.
Those songs pale in comparison to “Shot For Me,” “Marvin’s Room” and “Practice.” They are Drake at his worst.
While he’s constantly praised Nicki Minaj over the years, Drake belittled the Grammy-nominated artist during his beef with her former boyfriend, Meek Mill — Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour? — implying that it’s emasculating for a man to receive second billing to his significant other.
As with stars of rock and country music, almost every successful rapper today, from Jay Z to Future to Chance the Rapper, has at some point performed lyrics that objectify or exploit women. J.Cole’s music has taken on more social justice elements over the years (Drake has spoken out for black causes as well). But Cole, in a 2013 song, called women “b—–s” —I got smart, I got rich, and I got b—–s still/And they all look like my eyebrows: thick as hell — and patriarchally dismisses female sexuality on 2014’s “No Role Modelz”:
My only regret was too young for Lisa Bonet, my only regret was too young for Nia Long/Now all I’m left with is hoes from reality shows, hand her a script the b—h probably couldn’t read along
Even so-called progressive rappers fall into this trap, namely the androgynous Young Thug and the genderfluid Young M.A.
Sometime between Drake’s early rise and his third mixtape being converted into 2009’s So Far Gone, the rapper known for singing about his romantic feelings and the pressure of newfound fame — with a flow that made every 16 bars sound like the hottest verse ever — became his own worst enemy. Drake, known for hits like 2009’s “Best I Ever Had” and 2010’s “Find Your Love,” became synonymous with quote-heavy memes on social media, and fake Twitter accounts such as @drakkardnoir pumped out fake deep quote after fake deep quote.
But the rapper’s verses about loving and being proud of college-educated, independent women — Sound so smart like you graduated college/Like you went to Yale but you probably went to Howard — paved the way for hypermasculine diatribes against the sexual agency of seemingly any woman he’s ever encountered. Through an examination of Drake’s four studio albums, plus mixtapes, collaborative projects and guest features, it is clear that the man who made music for folks who couldn’t get over their exes was himself struggling with the basic concept of “moving on.”
While So Far Gone doesn’t count as a studio album — it was his final mixtape before signing with Universal Republic — it gave listeners a sneak peek into the troublesome lyrics Drake would release in subsequent years. On the soothing track “Houstatlantavegas,” he raps about “saving” an exotic dancer from a strip club:
You go get f—– up and we just show up at your rescue/Carry you inside, get you some water and undress you.
I give you my all and the next morning you’ll forget who or why, or how, or when/Tonight is prolly ’bout to happen all over again.
Thank Me Later, Drake’s 2010 debut studio album, features the rapper slut-shaming women for having previous sexual partners. From “Karaoke” (I hope that you don’t get known for nothing crazy/Cause no man ever wants to hear those stories ’bout his lady) to “Miss Me” (Work somethin’, twerk something, basis/She just tryna make it so she’s right here getting naked. I don’t judge her, I don’t judge her/But I could never love her) to “Thank Me Now” (Alohas to women with no ties to men/That I know well, that way there are no lies), Drake positions women with previous sexual experience as undesirable. On the Rihanna-assisted “Take Care,” he seems to open up to the idea of women having sexual agency, relenting I’ve asked about you and they told me things/But my mind didn’t change and I still feel the same.
Thank Me Later was also at times a celebration of independent women – appreciating women’s “book smarts and street smarts” on “Shut it Down” and “Fancy” — but set the foundation for 2011’s Take Care, which was, at that point, the peak of Drake’s overt misogyny and objectification of women. On Take Care, which won Drake a Grammy for best rap album — he continues his focus on sex workers with “Lord Knows”:
To all these women that think like men with the same intentions
Talking strippers and models that try to gain attention.
Even a couple porn stars that I’m ashamed to mention.
“Under Ground Kings” (Sometimes I need that romance, sometimes I need that pole dance/Sometimes I need that stripper that’s gon’ tell me that she don’t dance) even creates a binary of acceptable and unacceptable behavior. While Drake has an infatuation with exotic dancers, he also makes it clear that admiration only goes as far as sex. “Trust Issues,” which Drake said he made for “fun” and thus didn’t include on the album, has Drake playing into the thoroughly debunked myth that women can’t want sex as much as men, rapping And it’s probably why I’m scared to put the time in/Women want to f— like they’re me and I’m them.
Those songs, though, pale in comparison to “Shot For Me,” “Marvin’s Room” and “Practice.” They are Drake at his worst, going beyond the behaviors of the paternalistic and disapproving ex. He goes from telling a woman she’s drinking away the pain she feels due to leaving him on “Shot For Me” — Yeah, I’m the reason why you always getting faded — to cursing out another for finding happiness with a new lover on “Marvin’s Room” (F— that n—-a that you love so bad).
Despite admitting that he’s a flawed individual in the latter song, in the former he tells the woman that he “made” her and calls her a “b—-.” This then leads to Drake’s most confusing and disturbing song to date, “Practice.” While acknowledging that women can have sex — the song is about a woman having multiple partners — Drake then spins it to his advantage: All those other men were practice, they were practice/Yeah, for me, for me, for me, for me. He senses “pain and regret” in the woman from her past, and then reluctantly accepts the fact that she has casual sex. He tops the song off with an uncomfortable, familial request: You can even call me daddy, give you someone to look up to.
But, Drake can still change. His lyrics paint the picture of a man who is constantly questioning himself.
It’s 2016’s “Hotline Bling” that ignited the re-examination of Drake’s entire catalog. The song is the rapper’s second-best-selling single of all time (behind fellow Views track “One Dance”), and won him two Grammys at last month’s award show. Not to mention, the visuals for the song will go down in music history as one of the most memorable music videos of all time.
But while the chorus is equal parts infectious and mesmerizing, Drake sneaks in two verses and a bridge full of “reductive stereotypes” and body-policing lyrics about an old fling. Whether about said woman “wearing less and goin’ out more” or “going places where you don’t belong,” Drake makes it apparent that he’s offended that she has the audacity to move on with her life. By the end of the song, Drake’s become so desperate that he’s even concerned that the woman is “bendin’ over backwards for someone else.” Textbook narcissism.
His guest appearances have been a mixed bag as well. On rapper The Game’s 2011 track “Good Girls Go Bad,” Drake raps Who’s still getting tested?/Where’s all the women that still remember who they slept with? and a year later added to 2 Chainz’s “No Lie”:
She could have a Grammy, I still treat her a– like a nominee
Just need to know what that p—- like
So one time is fine with me.
Over the past couple of years, Drake has put out two mixtapes, a solo effort If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and What A Time To Be Alive with Future. His male chauvinism can be found on tracks “Legend,” “Energy” and “Madonna” and repeatedly calls a woman “ungrateful” for living her life without him on “Diamonds Dancing.” As writer Tahirah Hairston pointed out, Drake has also had questionable lyrics on “Wu-Tang Forever,” “Own It,” “Furthest Thing,” “I’m The Plug” and even notable feminist Beyoncé’s “Mine.”
Back in October, Drake released three tracks from his upcoming More Life album — “Fake Love,” “Sneakin’,” and “Two Birds, One Stone.” Looking solely at those tracks, it appears Drake has let up a little on his control, instead rapping about success, fake friends and his long list of haters. Even his appearance on labelmate Nicki Minaj’s diss to Remy Ma, “No Frauds,” he steers clear of trying to preserve women’s sanctity.
For nearly a decade now, Drake has wrapped up his alarming lyrics inside catchy, Instagram-caption-worthy choruses and tunes. The “light-skinned Keith Sweat” gets away with this because he carefully crafted a “nice guy” persona that deflects the criticism that, say, a 21 Savage, Kodak Black or the Migos would receive.
For many men, Drake’s attitudes reflect their own attitudes and desires, which in turn reflect a patriarchal society that views women as sexual objects meant to be gazed at. For women, they’ve had to deal with sexism in the arts since the beginning of time, so choosing to not enjoy an artist because of his views on sexuality would mean giving up on music all together. And at the end of the day, Drake is just that good at his job, unquestionably the most influential and popular musician in the business right now.
But Drake can still change. His lyrics paint the picture of a man who is constantly questioning himself, consistently trying to become a better person, whatever that entails. From So Far Gone to More Life — age 22 to 30 — he’s learned all the lessons life can teach, from whom to trust to what forms of happiness money and fame can buy. But it seems he’s yet to learn that women aren’t sexual objects. They’re human beings. If the only women of the world were all exactly like the women he seems to respect — his mother or Rihanna or Aaliyah or Serena Williams — we’d call him Aubrey the Riveter. But, they aren’t the only women who deserve his respect.
He knows that. But it begs the question: Does he care?

It’s not bad!  That’s why I’m going to be posting some primers each day for events that help explain what the events are and who is good.
So let’s start generally because the US has a giant Olympic team…
Hockey this year wont have the NHL so the US likely wont do as well as it did in previous Olympics (and neither will Canada) on the men’s side.  On the women’s side it usually comes down to the United States and Canada for gold.  It will again this year.  The US hasn’t come out the better for this match in 20 years … but it’s always hard fought.
Curling we did really bad at in Sochi and a lot of money was spent improving fitness and strategy at US curling.  How it will do against the rest of the world remains to be seen in my book but they’re introducing a new form of curling this year played by one man and one woman called Mixed Doubles Curling.  The US team is this really charismatic (and very good) brother and sister from Wisconsin that have a wonderful sense of humor and should make watching it fun.  They both play on the big four person teams for the US too.
Bobsled we have some serious chances in.  This is really a sport that has folded in ex summer olympian track and field stars.  The only reservation I put in is that I don’t think the US sleds (the physical things) are very good.  There has been some wonkiness on the world cup races.
Skeleton (going down the track head first on a sled) we have some good sliders on a good day that can do well.
Luge (going down the track feet first on a sled)… we have good women but the Germans will win everything in luge.
Short Track speed skating was a disappointment in Sochi only winning a relay.  There is a lot of angst about it but some really promising athletes.  The US didn’t qualify a women’s relay so we could only send three women, where as we are sending five men.  The big names to know here are JR Celeski, John Henry Kruger, and Maame Bimey.  Bimey is the first black woman named to a US olympic speed skating team.  Her father is from Ghana and my favorite quote from him is “the only thing cold in Ghana is beer.”  She’s amazing.
If short track was a disappointment in Sochi for the Americans than Long Track was a disaster.  A combination of weird performances, equipment issues and the Dutch monstering the entire event.  It was the first time in forever that the US won no medals.  We’re sending serious hopes in women’s sprinting distances.  Long track speed skating has basically poached every athlete they could from inline roller skating so many of our athletes are from Florida.  The exception being in the women’s distance races we’re sending a nice Dutch woman with an American passport.  She grew up in the Netherlands (the home of speed skating) with Dutch parents but she was born in the US and thus skates for us (because it’s really really really hard to make the Dutch National Team).  I like her.  She’s nice.  Some Dutch fans hate her and send her twitter hate.  On the men’s side we’re sending among others Shani Davis.  NBC will hype him because he is one of the greatest male speed skaters in history but this is the twilight of his career and having watched the world cup races this year I’m kind of not putting any hopes there.  This year they are introducing a new mass start race (long track speed skating is traditionally done against the clock).  It’s going to be a big field and a bunch of skaters not really used to racing in a pack which should be … interesting.
In ice skating the American medal hopes are bronze in Ice Dance.  We’re sending three teams all of whom could credibly take the bronze but none of whom are on the level of the French and Canadians for gold.  We also have a serious contender in men’s single skating named Nathan Chen.  He’s a jumping bean and is intending to land five of the most difficult jumps done in figure skating in the long program.  When he’s good he’s amazing.  Unfortunately he’s probably trying to do too many of those jumps so he … crashes a lot.   That doesn’t mean he may not win anyway.  Men’s figure skating has gotten very crashy lately because of all the quad jumping.  Our women will come in somewhere 7-4th but aren’t medal threats.  We shall not speak of pairs.  There is a team event and the US will probably battle for a bronze.  Again, not good enough for gold credibly.  That will likely be fought out between the We Can’t Call them Russians™ and Canada.
We are bad at ski jumping.
We aren’t great at Nordic Combined (that’s ski jumping and cross country skiing mixed).
We have never won a medal ever in biathlon (that’s cross country skiing and rifle shooting combined).
In cross country skiing the American women (not the men) have developed themselves into a serious power.  The strongest suit is the sprint races but they’re deep enough to do very well in relays.
In alpine skiing we have what might be the greatest female skiier in history on her hottest year in Mikaela Shiffrin.  She’ll win medals.  Several.  I wont assume gold but she could credibly come away with three or more.  Lindsay Vonn is also currently the greatest female skiier ever but she’s also very crashy.  If she doesn’t crash she has a good chance of winning.  But she’s in the twilight of her career and her body is held together with rubber bands and stubbornness.  The American men haven’t got anyone to seriously compete.  We have one Sochi gold medalist on the men’s side but his body isn’t what it was 4 years ago.  There is a mixed team event and the men’s weakness will probably keep us out of the medals.
America is very deep in all the Snow board events.  Probably the best bet though is in women’s half pipe with Chloe Kim.  She could have potentially medaled in Sochi but she was too young to compete.  She’s on another level than everyone else.  Don’t go looking for Americans in the alpine snowboard event.
The US is also very deep in the freestyle skiing events that are similar to snowboarding and there may be podium sweep potential there.  But don’t look for Americans in ski cross.  We don’t really have anyone there.
Moguls skiing (that is going down a really bumpy hill and doing tricks off jumps) the American women are particularly strong.  I wouldn’t be surprised if we medaled on the men’s side but gold there is locked up by a Canadian man who is just … not beatable.
Aerial’s skiing is like gymnastics vaulting with 20 pounds of stuff strapped to your feet.  We’ve got good contenders on both men’s and women’s sides but it’s sooo easy to crash…

Hip-Hop Has Shaped Our Style More Than We Know
How Hip-Hop Influences Fashion
American hip-hop culture has influenced the way people around the world express themselves and identify with each other for decades. From all corners of the globe, fans are financially swayed by their rap icons, so much so, hip-hop itself is now serving as a major source of inspiration for the most elite fashion houses.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
At the 2018 MET Gala (dubbed the Oscars of the fashion world) hosts included not only the event’s annual chair, Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, but also Rihanna. Noteworthy invitees included rappers 2 Chainz, Migos, Wiz Khalifa, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Jaden Smith and A$AP Ferg, who garnered a wealth of social media attention and photo coverage usually filled by fashion’s most elite.
RELATED: Hip-Hop Style
Continuing to buck traditional fashion protocol, Cardi B sat front row alongside Wintour during Alexander Wang’s Autumn/Winter 2018 runway show at the former Condé Nast offices above New York’s Times Square. This seat, next to the most powerful figure in fashion, is typically reserved for A-list friends of the designers, powerful editors, industry exes — even royalty. The placement of the one of the hottest, most talked about female rappers today is a strong example of how high fashion has largely been influenced by hip-hop, which, in December 2017, surpassed rock to become the most popular music genre in the U.S.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
Rappers have long used designer fashion as a symbol of status, both in person as well as in their lyrics, and those stories have a direct influence on high-end fashion. It is evident even from hip-hop’s very beginning.
The ‘80s
Kangol bucket hats, chunky street-tuff gold chains, and name-plated necklaces with “Tonya” and “Lisa” written in cursive were all the rage. New York style with Adidas shell-toe trainers with wide white laces and black tracksuits were created by Run-D.M.C, LL Cool J, Funk Master Flash, The Fat Boys, and Big Daddy Kane, who were trendsetters in making authentic fashion statements.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
LL Cool J wore his then signature Kangol hat when few Americans knew anything about the European hat maker, but its association with hip-hop quickly invigorated the brand.
When Run-DMC sang about “My Adidas,” it at once pioneered the use of rap as a fashion advertisement and paved the way for the first endorsement deal between rap and clothing designers. In the mid ‘80s, the Adidas Superstar was an old basketball shoe, originally handed to players in 1969. The way Run-DMC wore their Superstars was different: The combination of sneakers without laces (similar to in prison, where they were removed to prevent inmates hanging themselves), black Lee jeans, leather goose-down jackets, Cazal glasses, and gold rope chains had long been the look of New York hustlers. But as earlier popular artists such as Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were pushed by their labels into wearing flamboyant, shiny, post-disco gear, Run-DMC would successfully take the street look mainstream.

The ‘90s
The rise of female rappers such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Salt-N-Pepa all ushered in black pride wearing Afrocentric fabrics, headwraps, large gold earrings, and asymmetric haircuts, which all symbolized a movement that gave rise to social conscious hip-hop.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
The genre had became a powerful mix of influences — especially for clothing — allowing for the interaction of two theories of fashion diffusion. The upper class of fashion leadership proposes that new styles are adopted or started by groups in higher social classes, and they are later adopted in the lower social classes. This theory explains the early emergence of hip-hop fashion in the ‘80s and ‘90s, when consumers adopted aspirational labels not typically marketed to them, black poor teens, and young adults.
In contrast, however, hip-hop artists wore styles from Polo, Timberland, and Tommy Hilfiger, drawn to their all-American, elite, country club appeal. Yet, in 1994, Timberland’s chief operating officer issued a public statement reassuring customers that the brand wasn’t abandoning it’s so-called core base for the urban market.
RELATED: How to Wear Men's Boots
In 1991, designer Isaac Mizrahi incorporated hip-hop accessories such as African-inspired medallions into his New York Fashion Week runway show, while Anne Klein launched a clothing line especially based on rap music. Grand Puba name-dropped Hilfiger in his hit 1992 track “360° (What Goes Around)” and wore the designer’s clothes on various album covers. In 1994, Snoop Dogg donned a shirt emblazoned with the Tommy name on “Saturday Night Live,” gifted to him just hours before. The new yet immense popularity of the brand in the hip-hop community provided Hilfiger fueled growth and widespread brand resurgence since its founding 10 years prior.
Tumblr media
In 1996, Tupac walked down the Versace runway during a fashion show in Milan. This might be one of the most spectacular visuals of just how intertwined hip-hop and high fashion were becoming.
The transformation of the hip-hop “look” to both a mass fashion and high fashion trend pushed hip-hop pioneer fashion labels such as Rocawear, Phat Farm, Karl Kani, and FUBU into iconic status.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
The ‘00s
The Courvoisier-guzzling, supermodel-dating, bling-bling decade of the 2000s became the next huge fashion influence derived from hip-hop culture. This evolution of the style suggested extreme wealth when hip-hop’s biggest stars began wearing more extravagant attire, while Snoop, Tupac, and Biggie were dressing like old-school mobsters in fedoras, bowler hats, large double-breasted suits, and expensive alligator shoes.
Coming off the bright and colorful ‘90s, the advancement of technology and travel brought a wide variety of influences to fashion, and it seemed like every rapper with a little bit of money and power attached his or her name to a clothing label. For every successful Sean Jean and Rocawear from the ‘90s, there was a failed Akoo, Nostic, Benjamin Bixby, and Outcast clothing from the aughts.

Outside of full-blown fashion brands, some more obscure trends did make their way into the fashion mainstream. Sweatbands influenced by St. Louis rapper Nelly, which had a bizarre crossover appeal, became a sports accessory that young men — white and black — started wearing on completely non-athletic occasions.
One of the most universally known fashion trends of the aughts was the tall white tee. Mostly because an oversized white tee like a beeper signified drug dealer, tall tees were banned in bars and clubs, condemned in the media, and used by the police to profile assailants. Yet, when looking back at the era, the oversize tee of any color was status quo for high schoolers around the country.

No hip-hop artist in recent memory has influenced high fashion more than Kanye West. When West released his first album “The College Dropout” in 2004, his prepped out style and popped collars was perfectly timed with the rise and dominance to then absurdly expensive teen retailer with uniquely Waspy appeal, Abercrombie & Fitch. It was a brand of prep Americana in every mall kids would save their money for just to have one of the brand’s ironic logo’d graphic tees.
The ‘10s to Today
Kanye's preppy, collegiate style stood out to begin with, but it was at the start of the 2010s that he came into his own with the creation of his profoundly popular collection Yeezy 1. Best known for his incredibly popular sneaker designs, West began designing footwear for Nike almost a decade ago. The Air Yeezy 1 and 2 collections gained instant popularity, setting new records for how much they demanded in resale prices. According to Business of Fashion, the collaboration had "the biggest impact on sneaker culture in the last decade."
Tumblr media
GettyImages
In 2015, West teamed up Adidas, Nike’s biggest competitor, on a line of apparel and footwear simply known as Yeezy, a project that has since reportedly transformed into a $10 million partnership. The Yeezy Boost 350s and 750s presented during the Yeezy Season 1 show sold out globally within 12 minutes and exceeded the resale records set by his collaborations with Nike, with some pairs selling for more than $6,000 on eBay.
West, who refers to himself as the first “hip-hop designer,” has also designed collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Balmain, Giuseppe Zanotti, and A.P.C., but it was his record-shattering collaboration with Adidas as the first deal of its kind with a non-athlete, set an industry precedent that paved the way for other similar hip-hop and sportswear collabos, including Rihanna’s cultlike brand FENTY, designed for Puma.
Tumblr media
GettyImages
West is also, according to GQ, directly responsible for the prospering partnership between rappers and high fashion: “Five years ago, no rapper (or rap fan, for that matter) considered buying Givenchy or Alexander Wang ... West's penchant for luxury brands and avant-garde designers paved the way for guys like A$AP Rocky." A$AP was most recently named the face of Dior Homme, and sat front row at Gucci’s Cruise show in Blenheim Palace.

With hip-hops’ already immense impact on fashion in the past decades, future holds much promise for this marriage. To be involved with the hip-hop culture is to participate in the defining mood of the spirit of the time. Luckily, fashion and hip-hop aren’t inactive ideas. They’re constantly evolving in ways bold and barely perceptible — but always aiming to be in line with that ineffable quality of being cool.

Wire Magazine sat down with Jon Zimmer, a Vermont-native who drives the new Dragon Ice truck in the upcoming show, to preview this year’s Monster Jam.
Rafa Carvajal: Tell our readers about the upcoming Monster Jam show coming to Marlins Park February 16-17. Jon Zimmer: The upcoming Monster Jam show at Marlins Park will bring a new level of excitement for the whole family. There are two shows coming to Marlins Park on February 16 at 7 p.m., with a Pit Party from 2-5:30 p.m., and on February 17 at 3 p.m. with a Pit Party from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In a true clash of the elements, fans will get to see the hottest, coolest, and biggest trucks compete on the track complete with four-wheel racing, two-wheel skills, and freestyle competitions with the new specialty trucks.
RC: How did you become a monster truck driver and what first drew you to the sport? JZ: I have been in the sport for 20 years. When I was eight years old, I was drawn in by Grave Digger. Mostly it was Dennis Anderson that drew me in and the way he was with his fans.
Tumblr media
RC: What is it like driving a monster truck and what do you enjoy the most about being a driver? JZ: It’s unexplainable! It’s like driving a race car on a roller coaster track, but not knowing the outcome – and that is the exciting part. The part I enjoy the most is the fans. There is no other motorsport that allows so much time with the fans, and Monster Jam gives me that opportunity to have face-to-face interactions with them.
RC: What is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you while driving your monster truck? JZ: For me, the most exciting part isn’t driving; it’s the special moments with loyal, lifelong fans that become friends over the years.
RC: What drove you to become a monster truck driver? JZ: The excitement and the fans. The Pit Party before the show really allows us the special opportunity to meet the amazing people that come to see the show. I love the interaction with the fans.
Tumblr media
RC: Why is Monster Jam so popular with fans of all ages? JZ: The action on the track. You can’t compare it to anything else. It’s unpredictable, unscripted and unforgettable. This sport gives everyone a chance to meet and interact with their favorite drivers.
RC: Tell us about your background and the challenges you have overcome to get to where you are today. JZ: I grew up in Vermont and raced snowmobiles and quads. I started as a mechanic and worked my way into driving. I dedicated my life to being on the road, but that didn’t leave much time with the family.
RC: Describe yourself in three words. JZ: Fun, determined and hard-working.
RC: Is there anything else you would like to share with Wire Magazine readers who love motorsports? JZ: If you are into motorsports, you love horsepower. It’s 1,500 horsepower going 30 feet in the air. Nothing else in the world can compare to that.

Lady Gaga, glamour and gossip: what went on at Paris Fashion Week?
New Post has been published on http://gr8gossip.xyz/lady-gaga-glamour-and-gossip-what-went-on-at-paris-fashion-week/
Lady Gaga, glamour and gossip: what went on at Paris Fashion Week?
As models, celebrities, designers and journalists from around the world jetted to Paris for its women’s fashion week, they must have had a bumpy landing: the atmosphere was thick with controversy, news of takeovers, and anticipation at new directorial debuts. The proverbial runway was covered in marbles, and everyone was getting their opera glasses out of their Prada handbags to get a good look at who would fall first.
September is the January in fashion, as Candy Pratts Price drawls at the beginning of The September Issue, the documentary tracking the production of American Vogue’s 2007 September edition. The fashion elite trek from New York to London to Milan and, finally, to Paris, all in a month, to view the women’s collections of the most revered designers.
Milan Fashion Week came to a close on Monday, September 24th, just as Paris opened its arrondissements to the well-heeled droves. Donatella Versace waited until Tuesday – perhaps in the hope that most fashion purists would already be in France – to announce that the Italian fashion house would be taken over by none other than Michael Kors.
The fashion world was almost universally aghast at the news of Michael Kors’ takeover of Versace, which is revered as one of the world’s finest independent luxury fashion houses
The fashion world was almost universally aghast at the news. (Think the panicked scenes in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie when Kate Moss gets pushed into the Thames.) Why? The house of Versace is a family brand, created by Donatella’s brother Gianni, and passed on to her after his assassination, in 1997. It is revered as one of the world’s finest independent luxury fashion houses – the operative word being “independent”.
Huge European conglomerates like LVMH have been hoovering up independent brands, and die-hard fans of Versace see this as a potential corruption of their vision. LVMH alone owns Dior, Celine, Givenchy, Fendi and Marc Jacobs, among others. Apparently aiming for similar domination, Michael Kors last year acquired Jimmy Choo and now will bring the three brands – Kors, Choo, and Versace – under the name Capri Holdings. Kors’ business model in the US is based around saturating the market with fragrances and product partnerships, at price points that are within reach of the average consumer.
This seems like the antithesis of the refined opulence of Versace. It remains to be seen whether the 100 new Versace stores Kors plans to open will dilute the house’s identity, but fashion fanatics on social media certainly seem to think so.

Walking on water
On Tuesday night fashionistas assembled around a magnificent watery dais laid spectacularly beneath the lights of the Eiffel Tower. A striking row of bone-white illuminated palm trees fringed the pool. As the crowd squinted sceptically at the mirrory runway, everyone had the same question, one that was quickly answered: yes, the models were going to walk on water. The Saint Laurent show was the perfect dramatic backdrop for Tuesday’s gossip to sink in – just as the models’ heels sent ripples across the glassy surface, so too did ripples of the takeover news reverberate around the show.
Saint Laurent featured starry, luxurious designs that nodded to the house’s history. But if one theme in the week’s displays was even stronger than history, it was identity. Gender politics were at the forefront of the conversation.

Blurring gender boundaries
Alexander McQueen, Masha Ma, Louis Vuitton and Leonard Paris all explored the notion of women as warriors and explorers.
Masha Ma took contemporary inspiration from Natalie Portman’s Netflix film Annihilation, in which a group of women venture into an alternate dimension to save the world, to give a feminist edge to her exploration of Chinese aesthetics and politics. The result was a collection dominated by shimmery greens, evoking the jungle and military camouflage. McQueen’s body-armour-esque floral designs also conveyed a warrior woman’s journey, this time around the wilds of England. Ditto Louis Vuitton, but the journey was into outer space. Givenchy and Maison Margiela also engaged with gender, but their interests were in overturning it. Margiela had its first co-ed runway, blending men’s, women’s and nonbinary fashion seamlessly into one genderless celebration. Givenchy also mingled male and female models rendered indistinguishable with cropped hair and androgynous structured suits.

Directorial debut
Gender also played into another of the week’s major controversies: Hedi Slimane’s first women’s show as director of Celine. The designer took the reins in January of this year, having previously been creative director of Dior and Saint Laurent. It was he who dropped the Yves and razed the accent from what had been Céline. Many would argue that razing is Slimane’s modus operandi – that he cares little for brand legacy and is happy to leave the earth scorched as long as he can build his own castle on the ashes.
His Celine show was hotly debated in those terms, with many critics angry that he had discarded the feminine point of view in order to align more closely with his own legacy as a men’s designer. (He is best known for revolutionising menswear in his time at Dior Homme.) Lady Gaga seemed pretty happy, though, sitting in the front row. It was she who debuted the first Slimane x Celine bag in front of the Mona Lisa last month.

Streetwear/couture clash
The other most-talked-about director of the week was Virgil Abloh, who has been the hottest name in fashion this past year. At men’s fashion week in Paris earlier this year, he made his debut as men’s director of Louis Vuitton. His own label, Off-White, had its track-and-field-themed show, in which famous athletes paraded in yellow neon, this women’s week. The star-studded affair featured Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber, and continued Abloh’s brand of high-fashion street and athleisure wear. Indeed, much of the week could have been viewed through the lens of the streetwear/couture conflict. As Dean Mayo Davies argued for Dazed, Slimane’s show at Celine was a riposte to “streetwear’s stranglehold” on high fashion.
Paris Fashion Week: Kaia Gerber models a Chanel outfit at the Grand Palais. Photograph: Stephane Mahe/Getty

Chanel by the sea
Other highlights of the week included the Chanel show, where barefoot models frolicked on the sand in Le Grand Palais, wearing surprisingly bombastic and fun designs, all bearing brazenly large CHA-NEL lettering.
If Chanel took you to the seaside, Shiatzy Chen took you down the rabbit hole. Think Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland but in “the fantasy world of the East”.
The Balenciaga show invited you into virtual reality in an LED tunnel. Its stiff, futuristic tailoring combined with colourfully exploded Comic Sans type was as if the MSN generation entered the world of The Matrix.
Sci-fi didn’t stop there: the Louis Vuitton show closed the week in the Louvre courtyard, teleporting everyone to Mars with its space-travel theme.
Phew! That’s quite enough trekking – until men’s fashion week, in January, when the heels will wear trenches from Palais de Tokyo to Grand Palais all over again.
