listening to down bad on the tortured poets department made me think of these pictures of quintin. My thoughts are below. Kinda turned into a blurb. Oops.
Quinn looks like he’s gone through a fight with his lover pre-game. A fight that ultimately led to her leaving saying she couldn’t do it anymore and he’s hurting bad. And when petey asked him what was wrong in the locker room quinn just told him the only thing he was repeating in his head “fuck it if I can’t have us. fuck it if I can’t have her”
Petey and the other guys had no words, never seeing their captain like this. Not even when the fight broke out at practice that one time. It wasn’t until they were all on the ice that it really sunk in just how bad he truly was. Quinn looking caught on the big screen looking frustrated, hurt, as if he was no longer the level headed player of the team.
That is until out of habit he scanned the upper boxes where all the WAGs sit and he sees her. At first he thinks it’s his imagination. He closed his eyes and looks again and sure enough she’s there, against the glass of the box holding a sign saying “huggy, I’m sorry, talk after?” The camera man notices Quinn’s softening demeanor and quickly pans to him to hopefully catch his soft gaze on the screen. He does right as the lights start to dim. It’s almost like it’s just for the two of them. It wouldn’t have mattered if he was on the screen or not. She would have seen him either way. It was like they were the only two in the arena. He gives her a quick nod yes before skating to the bench.
All of the boys relax seeing their captain skate back in a different mood and start talking plays. “Good to have you back Q.” Brock says giving him a slap on the shoulder. “Now get out there and kick ass.”

What if I told you I had 2 WIPs to share today!?
First, your weekly Hockey Fic snippet:
“Baz, ya ok?” Simon asks.
“Do I look ok?” I say, throwing the last of my gear in my locker and slamming it shut.
“You’ll get your flow back, it’s just one practice,” he tells me, shrugging his shoulders.
It’s unfair how aware Simon is. How he knows what makes me tick.
Twenty-four hours ago it made me swoon. Tonight, I can’t stand it.
“Don’t,” I say to him. He scrunches up his face in response. “I don’t need your bloody optimism right now.”
He holds up his hands in surrender.
“Alright.”
The next one is a writing prompt I got from my Creative Writing class. We are still meeting as a group and do little prompts. This one got me super excited. Essentially, pick a diverse playlist, put that thing on shuffle and the first 10 songs are your outline. My outline is as follows:

So, here's a little look at the first chapter:
“Well, I feel bad for even making you come now!” I yell
“Great! Now I feel bad that you feel bad!” He yells back.
“Don’t feel bad. That makes me feel…bad?”
This would be comical if it wasn’t so damn depressing,
“I can’t help how I react, Snow.”
There it is.
Snow.
He’d all but stopped using that. When he did, it was taunting in a flirty way. But the way he said it just now, well that that was meant to sting.
The hockey fic is still my main concern right now, but this will be a fun thing to work on when I need a break!

the reaction to the NHL bringing 4 teams to sweden has been something that's been bugging me for the last few days like no, you don't need to 'grow the game' in sweden. everyone knows that there's already a steadfast loyalty and enjoyment of hockey there. but have any of the north american old men with (unfortunately) access to the internet thought about how accessible these games are to other european fans?? even some fans from non-european countries?? how it's easier for people not in canada/the us to enjoy literally 2 whole games because they're at a normal/manageable time?? that's how you grow the game. it's how you grow any sport. losers.
#i dont know if im making sense but it's genuinely been annoying me like go awayyyyyy#i do not CARE about the flow of the season they are getting a paid vacation and they get to play hockey for an adoring fanbase#they hire so many people to monitor them and to optimise their time over there to make sure they aren't too messed up coming back#this whole puritan attitude around how it's a Bad Thing that they travel outside of 2 countries is insane to me#in every other NA sport it's celebrated when teams go overseas#but these ugly old men have problems with EVERYTHING but will then turn around and complain about things like the cap and the figures which#can only be expanded if you broaden your reach#grow the game but only if it fits into the archaic structure set out by men who thought playing without helmets was a good idea
