With the hockey fic finally finished and not looking over my shoulder anymore, I’ve been putting my efforts into my COBB fic and my “for fun” fic. Thank you @aristocratic-otter for betaing my for fun fic. I’ve looked forward to your feedback and it’s motivated me to write.

Having said all that, who’s ready for a little angsty Snobaz knight action?

“Lady Wellbelove, could I be so bold to ask for a token to give me luck today?” Baz asks Lady Wellbelove with a flirty smile.

To my surprise, she not only responds, but looks mildly interested in Baz’s request. A spark of jealousy ignites in my chest and my mind is screaming “why him?!”.

“Do you rely on luck, my Lord? Or skill?” She asks with a coy smile of her own.

“Both. As most men do,” he says.

“You don’t need luck if you have the skill,” I interrupt.

And we’ll stop there as it gets a bit spoilery after that.

Happy Sunday everyone! Thank you for the tags today @nausikaa and @youarenevertooold, and everyone who’s tagged me in the past week! There’s so much good work being done right now!

I’m still working on the next chapter of my CORB story, but I’ve begun work on my COBB collaboration and will share a few more than six sentences today—I’m not entirely sure if I’m off on the right foot. I’m hoping the whole thing will look better when I’m finished 🤞

They’ve gone racing across the lower field just now, Dev pulling Baz by the hand, crowns of wild flowers winding around their heads. That will have been Baz’s doing; Dev may have made a start on his, but he’s not got the patience to have finished it, not so that it would hold together at least. They throw themselves down on their backs in the plush green clover, Baz facing north and Dev south, heads on each other’s shoulders as they stare up at the sky. I can just make out their small faces, laughing and serious by turns as they whisper in each other’s ears. What I wouldn’t give to be that young and resilient again!

I’m happy they’re close. I’m happy that in the midst of their darkest hours, they’ve each had a hand to cling tight to. I know well enough how much they’ll need someone to depend on as they grow.

Wip Wednesday

Very excited that I finally made a banner! Did I do this instead of actually writing something for this post? Yes! Did I let it stop me? Absolutely not. Everyone has a banner and I wanted to fit in.

So I guess I'm finally gonna share a snippet from the (currently untitled) Wing Fic. I'm writing this as a gift for my best friend @valeffelees even though I have never ever written wings in anything. But I love him, and for him, I will learn.

I'd rate this M, but I'll just put a disclaimer here, this is pretty mild but technically NSFW :)

Against my will, my eyes slip closed and my world goes dark. There's only pressure, only friction, only heat. Only Simon. Only ever Simon. When I finally manage to pry my eyes open again, hoping to see the expression on his face, my breath is stolen from my lungs. Red. Everything is red, and orange, and soft, and warm. Simon's wings have fully expanded in his passion, and as I gaze through the clouds of my lust, I can see the sunlight shining through the thin leathery membrane. Small, delicate red veins spread like a mosaic before me. I've never seen something so exquisite.

I've mostly been writing Holsom Timeloop, which I'm hoping to start posting in the next 2-3 weeks. And I've also been writing Simon's two mums, which at some point down the line I will post some of. Maybe I should post the first chapter and motivate myself by way of feedback. What say you?

"I just… do you think your mums would like… talk to me? About it? Like, how they knew." "Yeah. Of course. Do you want me to call them?"  "Maybe call, uh, Natalie? I feel like your other mum is too badass to ever have done something as common as realise she liked girls."  I laugh, then take my cell phone out of my pocket and press mum's face on the screen.  It rings.  It's a little bit cold out here. Keris shivers, and I shuck my blazer and hand it over to her.  "Simon, love, what's wrong?" Nothing's ever wrong, but mum especially always answers my calls in a panic—as though I'm calling to ask if it makes sense for me to go off and fight ogres or goblins or numpties. Which, to be fair, I did do a couple of times last year.  I had to fight with them to let me stay at Watford after that. And after the dragon. But nothing really bad has happened since [[redacted]]. There's only been that one time Goblins tried to get over the wall, and the time the worsegers tried to get under the wall. Otherwise it's been just school.  Though, you know, magic school, so it's hard to complain.

I saw this book is in the library and I thought it looked pretty interesting. But I always like to do some research before actually reading the book.
