Techo Kaigi 2024 Pt. 2 - TWL's Hobonichis

Happy New Year! Sharing my 2024 Hobonichis as addition to my Techo Kaigi post last time. I'll show you how I use my 2024 Hobonichi Techo and Weeks. For reference: 1. Hobonichi Techo 2024 - Used my old Hiroshi Hatano-Ocean View cover with my doilies. Pen used for the month is a Pilot Kakuno inked with Monami Pale Orange. 2. Hobonichi Weeks 2024 Lavender - Used my old Saki Obata-Quiet Harbor clear cover together with a moon sticker from my stash. Hobonichi Techo 2024

As usual, I stick a few washi tape samplers and stickers on the front pockets.

This year, aside from using my daily pages for journaling, I'm using the yearly index and monthly calendar to list media for the day (left) and my small wins (right). Hoping I'd be consistent with this.

Here's a daily page I've accomplished so far.

Hobonichi Weeks 2024

As I've started to track a new habit of walking, I use my yearly index for weeks to lodge the total distance I walked in a day (left). I'm also keeping the color system I started using since 2020 (right).

Here's a sample week in the life of my weeks, and below is a page from the grid pages in the back part (below).

Planners that I will be using in 2024

Hobonichi weeks: this is my tried and true when it comes to my "go everywhere" planner. I take this planner everywhere and Its made for me to write as I go

Hobonichi A6 daily planner: This is my diary/ mental health journal. I will be using the daily planner aspect to be journaling. The monthly planner is more "generic" given the focus on the diary.

Erin Condren Life planner: this will be my ultimate planner for both my final schedules and for various important events and appointments for my family and my social groups I'm in.

I know my stuff is a lot and many people probably won't understand but this way of having a system for my planning helps me keep control over my time and helps with my anxiety and ocd.

1/18/2024

first post of the new year! i'm finally back on campus for my last semester of law school :')) i have a really chill schedule (only 3 days of classes) so i'm going to try something crazy during my first long weekend and get all the readings done for two classes ahead of time !! crazy and ambitious? yes.. but will i try? YES!

also, i added a new hobonichi to my repertoire -- a 5-year techo! i'm hoping to stick with it for the next 5 years and in 2028, i can look back at how much things have changed since 2024! so far, my entries are really boring (apparently all i do is get coffee and do readings) but i feel like i'll look back on this time fondly.

hope everyone has a strong start to their spring semester!

my hobonichi for 2024

i'm jumping back into using a hobonichi as my planner for the year. the last time I used a hobonichi was the hobonichi a6 techo for 2020...you can imagine how that went.

when i traveled to japan in 2023, I was determined to visit the hobonichi store. i visited the one in kyoto (tobichi kyoto). it was a small store, and i was in there for a good 20 minutes trying to pick out a planner.

i ended picking the a6 day free. having the techo made me feel pressured to fill each day, so I wanted something that didn't feel as stressful to maintain.

so far, it has been fun and easygoing. i definitely enjoy not having the pressure, I can fill it out when I want.

i thought i would share how i decorated the front and back of my hobonichi!

some info on decorations:

These notebooks are my journalling line up for 2024 and I am so excited to get started! Each notebook is for a different purpose so without further ado let me tell you what they are:

🩷- The pink book on the top is my commonplace book. (Leuchtturm 1917) I have discovered common placing in the latter half of the year and I am loving using it - even though I’m not sure I’m doing it right. I love to use it for lists, quotes, random ramblings and writing what I’ve learnt in here.

🐼- Moving onto my Hobonichi Techo A6. As I’ve said before, this is an April start so I’ll be finished with it at the end of March but I’ve been using it for writing down about my day and media tracking. I’m going to use it more like a doodle book or an art journal from January because…

💙- I have the Hobonichi cousin which starts in January so this will be my planner and journal all rolled into one. I’ve been able to use it a wee bit already and safe to say I’m excited to use it next year.

🔵- I still have my reading journal (Leuchtturm 1917) however this is the same reading journal as 2023. I have only used half of this journal’s pages so I’m going to make sure it fills up with most if not all of 2024’s reading as well. I’m also changing how I’m using my reading journal which I might elaborate on in another post.

☀️- Finally at the bottom is my random/other/ranting journal which is basically what it says on the tin. I might do some commonplacing related notes in here as well.
