Corey Helford Gallery, in partnership with Cloudco Entertainment, presents 'Care Bears Forever', a group art exhibition featuring new and original, one-of-a-kind artwork, inspired by the beloved, classic Care Bears™ characters, from over 75 international contemporary artists.
Selected art by Elena Kucharik, Camilla d'Errico, Brandi Milne, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Bob Dob, Eric Joyner and Miho Hirano.
Celebrating the forever-lasting influence of the Care Bears™, this colourful and joyous experience will also offer attendees a special glimpse into the brand’s history with the 'Care Bears™️ Forever Pop-up Shop' in Gallery 2 (featuring limited-edition merchandise) and 'Friends Forever: The Beary Besties Gallery' (featuring the original Care Bears™ illustrations that started it all by Elena Kucharik, as well as artwork from the original greeting card line) in Gallery 3.
The opening night is on Saturday February 24 from 7pm-11pm PT in the Main Gallery at Corey Helford Gallery, 571 S. Anderson St. Los Angeles, CA 90033 and on the Corey Helford Gallery website until March 30 2024.

"Art Collector Starter Kit IX"
Opening Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California is the 9th annual group exhibition, "Art Collector Starter Kit."
Corey Helford Gallery started ACSK in 2013 to allow collectors and enthusiasts with limited space or budgets to purchase a smaller original piece of art from their favorite artist. Says gallery owner Jan Corey Helford, “CHG was created with the intention of making art available to collectors of all ranges with the radical assertion that 'art for the elite only' was a distortion of the real purpose of art − to create something that stirs the hearts and minds of everyone and anyone who can view it.”
The show has only grown in popularity since its inception and this year is no exception with artists like Hikari Shimoda, Bennett Slater, Troy Brooks, Ryan Heshka, Travis Lampe, Miho Hirano and Josie Morway, just to name a few. The artists are asked to submit works that are 12” x 12” in size and what we received is an explosion of creativity in a multitude of mediums including oils, acrylics, charcoals, sculpture and installation. The result is an exciting and varied show where all in attendance are sure to find something to delight their tastes and ignite their passions.

Looking Back from the Design Notebook: [Undercover]’s 25 Year History

A retrospective exhibition will be held at <Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery>. To commemorate that, I will store hand-drawn design notes!
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Jun Takahashi's start of <undercover> with a friend when he was at Bunka Fashion College. In commemoration of that, a large-scale retrospective exhibition started. " TITLED "LABYRINTH OF UNDERCOVER", mainly about 100 collection archives, videos, dolls, paintings, etc. are developed one after another in various spaces of various sizes. It is an exhibition where you can experience the complex and intertwined multifaceted creation as if you were walking in a labyrinth (maze).
SS07 ‘PURPLE’
A collection that became a turning point by launching a sensual and luxurious female image that could not be seen in the previous Undercover seasons. Jun Takahashi been drawing design notes since the past two years.

Therefore, this magazine specially released the design notes of Jun Takahashi. The design drawing carefully drawn in detail using a Rotring mechanical pencil on an A4 size thick notebook made for each collection seems to be a work by itself. However, the design drawing was not drawn from the beginning, and in the early days, they drew textiles on a Mac computer and assembled them with three-dimensional cutting, and made clothes that were reconstructed by dismantling basic items. Jun Takahashi started to draw design drawings by hand since the Spring Summer 2005 season. He said, "I draw in great detail, so there is a limit with computers, and paper and pen are more free to expand ideas."
Some of the design notes will also be exhibited at the exhibition. If you compare it with the actual clothes, you should be able to get a glimpse of the secret and process of the creation of Undercover.
SS09 ‘GRACE’
A season that produced a creature doll called GRACE and expressed the collection with a photo book that shot it like a scene from a movie. " The doll of "GRACE" will also be exhibited at the exhibition.

AW13 ‘Anatomicouture’
"Anatomical" and "Couture" are combined to make "Anatomicouture". Motifs that make up the human body such as brain marrow, skeleton, and five organs appear in various clothes, such as prints, jacquard, and embroidery.
The original drawing of the lace used for the three-dimensional dress part of the look on the photo. This detail is beautifully reproduced.
SS15 ‘Pretty Hate Bird’
A woman who looks like a swan lake motif walks along a giant cherry figurine with a skull carved. Undercover expresses the unique dark fantasy in an elegant and cute way.
The look imaged by the design drawing is almost reproduced as a real thing. Is that technique a gift of 25 years of history? It is carefully colored with a marker on a sketch drawn with a pencil.

Born in 1969. Started Undercover in 1990. Participated in the Tokyo Fashion Week for the first time in 1994. Participated in Paris Fashion Week since 2002.

戦略会議 #02 展示まわり／ HAMAMATSU SESSIONS 2019
浜松、Hirano Art Galleryで開催中の3人展「HAMAMATSU SESSIONS 2019」へ
世界で活躍する浜松出身のアーティストである若木信吾氏、多和田有希氏、Nerholの三組による現代写真アート展。
本当は休館日なのだが静岡までいく用事があったので、無理を行って開けてもらった。おかげで広い館内をじっくりと時間をかけて堪能することが出来た。
はじめて訪れたのだが、とても広くすばらしいスペースだった。
展示を全体に関して、まず本展「HAMAMATSU SESSIONS 2019」は「浜松出身アーティストたち」としてはいるが、それだけがこの3組を繋ぐテーマはやはりそれだけではないと感じた。
現代写真アート展とうたっていることもあり、この展示は単なる写真展ではない。3組はそれぞれの方法で、写真というものを文字通り物理的にも、概念的にも切り刻み、解体、再編、再構築した表現を持つ。それが単なる写真展ではなく、現代写真であり、アートとして3組を繋ぐ展覧会としてのもうひとつの線であると感じた。
多和田有希氏：
多和田さんの展示している作品のシリーズのいくつかを昨年2月に観に行った「写真都市展 −ウィリアム・クラインと22世紀を生きる写真家たち−」（21_21 DESIGN SIGHT）で一度、鑑賞している。その時もヴィジュアルのインパクトはかなり受けたが、2度目である今回の方が作品としっかりと向き合い解釈を進めることが出来たと思う。
彼女の作品はプリントという物質そのものに穴を空けられたものとなっている。1枚のプリントのものもあれば、焼き切られて輪郭を持ったプリントを素材とし透明な板の上で複雑に組み合わされ、さらにそれが3層構造になっていたりなど複雑なレイヤー構造を成すオブジェとして鑑賞者と向き合う。
文字通り、写真そのものを切り刻み、解体し、再編、再構築することで作品とされている。
解説で使われていた「人間の精神的治療のシステム」という言葉に引っ張られるわけではないが、作品と向き合った時に、作品を写真として観ようとする僕自身がまず穴が空いて、プリントの向こう側が見えることに混乱をし、そこから徐々に自身の想像力によって穴を埋めるようにしてイメージを再構築していることがわかる。いかに写真を想像力ではなくまず写真として観ているのかということに囚われた自身の概念的能力の狭さにやや愕然とさせられる。
複雑にレイヤー構造で組み上げられたオブジェは儀式に使われる何かにも、中世のシャンデリアのような象徴的なものとしてのフォルムのようにも見え、写真というメディアそのものが排除してきた魔術的な要素を感じるのはこの作品がいわゆる写真ではなく、写真を使った彼女の手仕事によるアートであることが大きいと感じた。
作品の中に辛うじて見つけられる人物の頭と肩から伸びる先が、手であると思うとそうではなかったりする。
この階層構造と複雑なフォルムは鑑賞者の視線の先にあるリアリティを引き裂く。
作品によって表現されるものは「何かであって、何かでない」
向き合った鑑賞者としては頭の中に作品のその触手を脳に突っ込まれ、想像力を引き摺り出される感覚に陥る。
Nerhol：
彼らの作品は好きなこともあり、都内で観れる展示には割と行っているので今回も再度目にする作品もいくつかあった。
彼らは数百枚という重ねられた写真を彫刻のように掘り出すことで作品としている。
数百枚に重ねられた写真の層の厚みはある瞬間ではなくある時間の幅を示す。現実である3次元に時間という概念を加えた4次元という時空を2次元の重なりで変則的に新たな3次元の実体を作り出しているのだ。
そこから掘り出されたイメージは時空を歪め、時間的にも空間的にもループし、はじまりも終わりもないメビウスの輪のように現実世界とは違ったパラレルワールドを映し出す。
若木信吾氏：
今回はじめて作品を拝見するのは若木さんだけだ。
3組の中では一番写真らしい写真作品ではあるが、若木さんの作品も確かに写真を切り刻み、分解していると感じた。
3つのシリーズの作品から数点ずつ作品が展示された構成であった。
「川」のシリーズ。
静岡は熱海から入って浜名湖を抜けるまでに6つの新幹線の駅を持つほどに東西に長い県で、二つの大きな川（富士川、大井川）で東部、中部、西部に分けられる。それぞれに地域性がちがうことを大学時代から最初の就職まで9年の間過ごしたころによく聞かされた。さらに僕が居た静岡市ならば安倍川という川が市内を南北に流れ、歴史的な背景から「川向こう」といった差別的な呼び名があったりした。浜松市も天竜川が東側の豊田町との境を流れ、そこから西側が浜松市となっている。
静岡にいたことから感じるのかもしれないが「川」というのは「分断」をイメージさせるモチーフなのだ。地域、文化、感情といったものがそれを挟んだこちらとあちらで違うものだという意識がいつの間にか形成されている。
展示されていた若木さんの他のシリーズも後景と全景の間に車がイメージを分断したものや、歩道が道路と建物の地域を分けたものなど、イメージ内を何かしらのモチーフが横切り、分断したものであった。
若木さんの作品は写真そのものではなく、モチーフによって示されるイメージ内を分断することで写真の伝える概念を切り刻み分解している。
しかし、作品としっかり向き合う中で「分断」といったネガティブなイメージは必ずしもこの作品の最終的に示そうとしているものではないのではないかと感じる。
全てのイメージで「川」は実際には何かを分断するものとして捉えられてはいない。川の向こうの土地が左右にイメージをしっかりと横切っていたり「川」が分断のモチーフであることを逆に否定するかのようにイメージは丁寧にモチーフである川を扱っている。むしろ左右に横断する土地が川と空という二つの広大な空間を分断しているようにすら見えてくる。
他のイメージも然りであった。
後景の壁のグラフティと左右に画面を大きく遮る車のグラフティの対比はむしろ両者を分断するものではなく、同一平面として観ているものが平面作品であることを思い出させる。
一度解体させられたイメージを想像力により再構築、再編させられ、別の違った見え方がしてくる。それは僕の持っていた「川」に対する「分断」というネガティブなイメージを逆に切り刻むものでもあった。
浜松というある地方都市にとって、写真というものに対する歴史的意識を切り刻み、解体、再編、再構築させるある意味で暴力的でエッジのきいた意義ある展覧会となると感じる。

NEO: The World Ends with You will launch for PlayStation 4 and Switch on July 27, followed by PC via the Epic Games Store this summer, publisher Square Enix announced. The PC version is newly announced.
In Japan, the game will cost 7,480 yen. A 21,000 yen “NEO: The World Ends with Bag” edition will also be available via the Square Enix e-Store and 7net Shopping, which includes a copy of the game, mini soundtrack, art book, pin badge set in a cassette-themed case, Mr. Mew hanging pouch with snap ring, and record bag with graffiti pattern.
Users who purchase the game via the Square Enix Store or Square Enix e-Store by August 26 will receive the downloadable content “Reapers’ Game Survival Set,” which includes the following three in-game items:
“Mutation” (Badge) – Effect: Gradually restores Team HP while holding the button.
“Koumokuten” (Fashion Item) – Ability: Significantly increases HP.
“Twister -NEO MIX-” (CD) – Effect: Can set the background music of the menu screen to “Twister -NEO MIX-.”
Users who purchase the game via the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop by August 26 will receive the “Legendary Threads Set,” which contains five equippable items once used by the legendary Neku. These items are normally unavailable until you proceed considerably far in the story. The set includes:
Legendary Headphones – Ability: Increases damage dealt to enemies with less damage taken.
Legendary Off Turtleneck – Ability: Significantly increases damage dealt by attacks.
Legendary Shorts – Ability: Shortens down time.
Legendary Sneakers – Ability: Increases movement speed in battle.
Legendary Audio Player – Ability: Hugely increases HP.

■ Story
It was just another seemingly ordinary day in Shibuya, but not for Rindo. He could tell something about the city felt different.
A girl with an ominous aura appears before him, identifying herself as a so-called Reaper. With some trepidation, Rindo decides to play along with this Reapers’ Game, but something is weird…
Battles with monsters called “the Noise”, pins that grant mysterious powers, and a place called Shibuya UG (Underground) to set the stage for the Game—it isn’t long until Rindo starts to have second thoughts on his decision.
■ Characters
The latest Players to join the Reapers’ Game: the Wicked Twisters.
Rindo (voiced by Paul Castro Jr. in English, Yuuma Uchida in Japanese)
One of the newest Players in the Reapers’ Game, Rindo is a high schooler to whom searching for info on his phone is second nature. He prefers to go with the flow, and although he doesn’t go out of his way to interact with others, he won’t turn them away if they come to him first. Thrust into the Game without even realizing it, he now serves as the de facto leader of the Wicked Twisters.
Fret (voiced by Griffin Burns in English, Chiharu Sawashiro in Japanese)
Rindo’s happy-go-lucky classmate and fellow Player in the Reapers’ Game, Fret boasts the ability to get along with just about anyone. While he styles himself as a natural conversationalist, he prefers to keep things light, subconsciously avoiding subjects that are too serious. He enjoys walking around town with his buddy “Rindude.”
Nagi (voiced by Miranda Parkin in English, Mina Katahira in Japanese)
Another Player in the Reapers’ Game, Nagi is a college student whose youthful appearance leads others to mistake her for a middle schooler. She is deeply passionate about her pastimes, devoting all of her time and energy to her favorite games. Highly perceptive, she is acutely aware of others’ emotions, and shows disdain toward those she deems superficial and disingenuous.
Minamimoto (voiced by Andy Hirsch in English, Takayuki Fujimoto in Japanese)
A fellow Player in the Reapers’ Game, Minamimoto puts his impressive psychic powers to use when he saves Rindo and the gang from a tight spot early on, then forces himself onto their team.
He calculates every possible future using his own unique formulas and acts in accordance with the values he discovers, but he remains a mystery to all around him. He seems to have his sights set on something greater than Rindo and the gang.
Shiba (voiced by Shaun Conde in English, Daiki Hamano in Japanese)
Shiba currently ranks number one among the Reapers in the Shibuya UG, having worked his way to the top within a year of his arrival. He also serves as the Game’s Master, arbiter of its rules, and encourages its Players to keep things hot. His psychic powers far surpass those of his fellow Reapers, ensuring that none dare disobey him.
■ Locations
NEO: The World Ends with You takes place in Shibuya, Tokyo. You may recognize some of the landmarks, but the city itself is depicted with an artistic touch unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Explore this wonderfully unique version of Shibuya!

Dialogue sequences are presented with a comic-esque aesthetic that keeps the story moving while highlighting character interactions.
■ System: Scan
Scan to read people’s thoughts!
Scanning is one of the fundamental psychs available to players. Press the button to begin scanning your surroundings, which will allow you to read people’s thoughts and visualize enemies known as Noise.
Noise will start to chase you if you get too close and coming into contact with one will initiate combat. Quickly touch several Noise symbols to start a chain battle.
Scan your surroundings to see what the people of Shibuya have on their minds. You might stumble upon some important pieces of information, so be sure to scan often!
■ Team Battles
Team up to take down the Noise!
Each teammate can equip one pin at a time. Press the corresponding button to unleash the psych contained therein. Simple controls keep combat moving!
Switch your team’s psychs by changing your pin loadout. Choose from hundreds of pins that let you attack the Noise, heal your team, or boost your allies’ abilities!

Miho Hirano's "Harmony with Material and Spirit."
Opening on April 2nd, 2022 at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles,. California is artist Miho Hirano's extraordinary solo exhibition, "Harmony with Material and Spirit."
Regarding her new works, Hirano shares: “I am trying to capture one landscape by making people, nature, and objects sympathize on the screen. The theme of Harmony With Material and Spirit does not refer to a vast nature but rather to a narrow area around us. The feelings and moods I express are linked to and in harmony with the impressions and seasons of nature.” She adds, “I try to draw broad themes so that I don’t feel suffocated. For these new works, I drew pieces that express a mixture of small joys and sentimental feelings.”

【 終了いたしました 】2018.09.22 sat - 2018.10.14 sun / Naomi Edmondson Exhibition『Survival Techniques』@ PARK GALLERY
2018年9月22日（土）より、PARK GALLERY にて、ロンドンを拠点に活動する画家・壁画家 ナオミ・エドモンドソンによる個展『Survival Techniques』を開催致します。
『Survival Techniques』は ＜原宿＞ と ＜シンガポール＞ の2拠点で国内外の様々なジャンルのアーティストを発信する UltraSuperNew Gallery（Tokyo）にて2018年7月に開催された同名エキシビジョンの巡回展。
今後は UltraSuperNew Gallery × PARK GALLERY のコラボレーションによって、国内外のアーティストの活動を点から線で繋ぎ、立体的に発信していきます。

『Survival Techniques』はナオミ・エドモンドソンによって描かれたポジティブなメッセージによって、都市や、その街に暮らす人たちとの精神的なコミュニケーションを目的としたアート・プロジェクト。多くのひとの目に触れるパブリックな場所へ描かれた壁画作品は『理想的な都市の空間づくり』の探求でもあり、そのポップな色彩、ドローイングによって描かれた温もりあるメッセージは、都会的な暮らしや SNS・インターネットで疲弊した私たちの心を癒し、豊かにしてくれるアートピースでもあります。
ロンドンで開催される世界的なアート・アワード『Rise Art Prize』の ストリート・アーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー を受賞した実績を持つ彼女の『活動』と『作品』に触れられる貴重な東京でのエキシビジョンです。この機会にぜひ会場で感じてみてください。そして、都市におけるアートの役割を、PARK GALLERY という場所で、作り手も受け手も一緒になって考えることができれば幸いです。

NTsKi参加のグループ展「4面鏡 / Quad Mirror」7月17日からPARCELにて開催
東京のアート・ギャラリーPARCELにて7月17日(土)から開催されるグループ展、「4面鏡 / Quad Mirror」にNTsKiが参加することが発表された。
7月16日(金)には18時よりオープニング・レセプションも行われる。
