Herbal tea basics -
Herbal teas can help with a wide range of health issues, depending on the type of tea and the specific properties of the herbs used.
Here are a few examples:
Digestive issues: Ginger, peppermint, and chamomile tea can help soothe an upset stomach, relieve bloating, and aid digestion.
Anxiety & stress: Chamomile, lavender, and lemon balm tea are known for their calming and relaxing properties, and can help reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.
Insomnia: Valerian root, passionflower, and chamomile tea can help promote relaxation and improve sleep quality, making them useful for treating insomnia.
Cold & flu symptoms: Echinacea, elderflower, and ginger tea can help boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and relieve symptoms of colds and flu.
Menstrual cramps: Ginger and chamomile tea can help relieve menstrual cramps and other symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Headaches: Peppermint and ginger tea can help relieve headaches and migraines, thanks to their anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
It's important to note that while herbal teas can be helpful for many health issues, they are not a substitute for proper medical care.
If you have a serious health condition or are taking medication, it's always best to talk to your healthcare provider before using herbal teas or other natural remedies.

Medicinal Golden Ginkgo Leaf Tea
[Fall] is the perfect time of year to harvest the leaves for medicinal herbal teas. Though ginkgo is most often harvested green (because you get a greater yield if you do so), it is generally considered that the medicinal qualities are concentrated and enhanced once the leaves turn.
So by waiting to harvest till fall, you get a more concentrated herb, and the tree maximizes its survival and growth. A win-win for everyone!

Oh how I long for someone to drink herbal teas with and discuss life, philosophy, astronomy, poetry, and tantric affairs. Admitting this, makes me feel ashamed. Shame is not an original emotion, it is a right, handed to you over time until you become what people would call an Adult because you now feel embarrassed to long for something that does not concern buying or selling. I am very embarrassed to admit that I still long for friendship and deep conversations that feel almost like praying. I feel very selfish to desire all these things, when as an adult I am required to provide value that has nothing to do with feelings. Even worse, if I insist on feeling I must commodify it because a lack of profit is a lack of relevance. I am the most ashamed because when someone tries to feel beside me I become angry, enraged, dismissive; in an attempt to pretend that I have learned how to be here. I engage in the self mutilating act of ‘being realistic.’ I am not realistic. I am not indifferent. I am not unhappy. I am so in love with life and poetry and the milky way and dancing and traditional instruments and people. I long to share life, the earth with people.

The Superiority of Tea Drinking Over Coffee
Tumblr media
When it comes to the age-old debate of tea versus coffee, tea enthusiasts will confidently argue that tea drinking offers a myriad of benefits that far outweigh those of coffee. At Makaibari US, we pride ourselves on producing some of the finest organic tea and biodynamic tea available, including our revered green tea, rich in antioxidants. In this blog, we’ll delve into why tea drinking is superior to coffee drinking, highlighting the numerous health benefits and unique qualities that make tea the better choice.
Health Benefits of Green Tea Antioxidants One of the most compelling reasons to choose tea over coffee is the abundance of antioxidants found in green tea. Antioxidants are crucial in fighting free radicals in the body, which can cause oxidative stress and lead to chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Green tea, in particular, is packed with catechins, a type of antioxidant that is highly effective in neutralizing free radicals. By incorporating green tea into your daily routine, you are not only enjoying a soothing beverage but also bolstering your body’s defense against various health issues.
Organic Tea: A Healthier Choice At Makaibari, we are committed to producing organic tea that is free from harmful pesticides and chemicals. Choosing organic tea means you are consuming a purer product that is better for your health and the environment. Organic farming practices ensure that the tea leaves are grown in nutrient-rich soil without the use of synthetic fertilizers, resulting in a cleaner and more natural flavor. Unlike many coffee plantations, which often rely on heavy chemical use, organic tea farming prioritizes sustainability and health.
Biodynamic Tea: Harmony with Nature Our biodynamic tea farming practices take organic farming to the next level. Biodynamic agriculture is a holistic approach that views the farm as a self-sustaining ecosystem. This method involves using natural composts, animal manure, and herbal preparations to enhance soil fertility and plant health. Biodynamic tea not only offers a superior taste but also supports the environment by promoting biodiversity and reducing the carbon footprint. Drinking biodynamic tea means choosing a product that is in harmony with nature, contributing to the planet’s well-being.
Lower Caffeine Content While both tea and coffee contain caffeine, tea generally has a lower caffeine content, making it a more suitable option for those who are sensitive to this stimulant. Excessive caffeine intake can lead to jitteriness, anxiety, and disrupted sleep patterns. Tea provides a gentler, more sustained energy boost without the harsh side effects often associated with coffee. Additionally, our herbal teas are caffeine-free, offering a relaxing and healthful option for those looking to avoid caffeine entirely. This makes tea an excellent choice for individuals looking to maintain a calm and focused state throughout the day.
Diverse Flavors and Varieties Tea offers an incredible range of flavors and varieties to suit every palate. From the delicate notes of green tea to the robust richness of black tea, there is a tea for every occasion and preference. Coffee, on the other hand, tends to have a more limited flavor profile, largely dependent on the type of bean and roasting method. The diverse world of tea allows for endless exploration and enjoyment, with each cup offering a unique sensory experience.
Ritual and Relaxation The act of brewing and drinking tea is often associated with mindfulness and relaxation. The ritual of preparing tea, whether it’s a traditional Japanese tea ceremony or simply steeping a bag in hot water, encourages a moment of pause and reflection. This can be a welcome contrast to the often hurried and hectic nature of coffee consumption. Taking time to enjoy a cup of tea can provide a mental break and promote a sense of calm and well-being.
Conclusion: Embrace the Benefits of Tea
In conclusion, the numerous advantages of tea drinking make it a superior choice to coffee. The health benefits of green tea antioxidants, the purity of organic tea, and the sustainable practices behind biodynamic tea all contribute to a healthier lifestyle and a better planet. At Makaibari US, we are dedicated to producing the highest quality teas that not only taste exceptional but also support your well-being. By choosing tea over coffee, you are making a conscious decision to embrace a beverage that offers both immediate enjoyment and long-term health benefits. So, why not make the switch today and discover the superior pleasures of tea drinking?
Experience the best of what Makaibari has to offer and elevate your tea-drinking experience with our exquisite selection of green tea, organic tea, and biodynamic tea.
