Scarlet has a form of leucism going on - he's a lot more low-pigment than, say, Marigold, but he still has some going on, if only so he doesn't get totally blinded by the sun. Closest thing we've found online is searching for "champagne pink" foxes - he was a fairly standard red fox for a while, just with them bigass ears, but he Got Better.

This is the same general thing that he has going on normally in our HCs - namely, he's fucking gutting pigment production because he has the Specific Flavor Of Neurosis that has him gutting systems of his own body in order to free up life force when under stressful situations, and then he just Doesn't Fix Them when he gets into situations when he's not under the immediate stress that caused him to gut that system to begin with, even if they long-term cause him to need to dedicate more life to Fixing The Issues They Cause than actually maintaining them on a regular basis would take.
