Hello artists! I've been practicing art and stuff and I have questions regarding references, poses, anatomy, outfits and colors for characters and practice.
For reference I use pinterest to find the stuff I'm looking for, like outfits and the like but as well as some poses. My main concern is if it's okay to trace the shape of the pose? Like here's what I do;
1) I take my photo into my canvas and turn the opacity down.
2) then I make a new layer over it and trace over the poses basic shapes and using the stick figure method
3) then I tweak it a bit to fit my characters body type and stuff.
The reason I'm asking this is because I've heard that tracing is a biiiiig no no in the art community and I do not support tracing as a form to make art. But there's gotta be a difference between tracing for profit of it or to gain a following and using it to practice anatomy and dynamic poses right? And I don't trace over people's art btw! ?But like celebraties and models and stuff? Is that like allowed basically?)
And speaking of anatomy? What are some good tips for beginners to learn anatomy quickly? Like is there a guide book for dummies like me or does the way you practice anatomy differ from person to person? I just wanna ask to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong!
And finally outfits and colors. Although I do use pinterest to get for references for outfits I sometimes find trouble in not making a trend of giving my characters the same outfit or style (basically I'm finding it difficult to give them their own unique fashion sense if that makes sense). I end up giving my oc's the same outfits or boring outfits or end up not finding inspiration easy or to much inspiration and don't know what outfit to give them!
And don't get me started on color palettes, I don't want my art to be to boring by using mundane colors or to bright! And finding a good combination of colors that doesn't feel to everywhere or messy or boring is surprisingly more difficult than I thought. And I'm talking about for like cities and stuff, and like the outfits earlier, I end up using the same colors over and over and it feels to used!
I hope this doesn't sound like I'm complaining lol, I'm doing my best as a beginner artist and attempting to learn so I can level up and become better at art! I hope you all have a great day and enjoy your day/night/afternoon

I'm back in the state my family lives for a bit and my brother had a seizure while I was driving him to his music class. Had to throw on my hazard lights and jump into the back because the seatbelt was choking him. I was already at a stop light thank goodness so people could just go around us. He's ok, it was a quick one so I'm just keeping an eye on him while he sleeps it off.
But I think I hurt my neck climbing through the car, or maybe when I whipped my head back at the start of it cause now I can't turn my head at all. I'm just lying on the floor trying not to move. Getting older stinks I tell ya what.
Anyway, we're still trying to raise money for his seizure alert dog so to all my new followers~
The amount raised already is the only reason we've been able to move forward the process at all. The dog is currently in training, and we should hopefully get her by the end of the year or early next year. This fundraiser now is to help ease the burden of the debt on my parents since they still have to make several more payments.
