Exploring the vibrant worlds of the Gujarati, Bhojpuri, and Marathi film industries.
Tumblr media
Among the oldest and biggest cinema industries around the globe is found in India. A public screening of an Indian movie occurred at the beginning of 1913. It was called Raja Harischandra. Finding someone to play female characters at the time was quite difficult. It has only recently been questioned whether the middle and lower classes still associate acting with a decline in virtue, female chastity, and credibility.
Gujarati Film Industry
Among the important regional and popular film industries in Indian cinema is Gujarati Cinema. The business has reached its best point over the past ten years thanks to sane and competent directors who have won the audiences' high praise. The movies have original stories, excellent acting, beautiful music, and a wide range of genres, including Family, Tragedy, Comedy, Mystery, Sports, Sci-Fi, Historical Drama, Action, and Relationship.
At the 64th National Film Awards, the movie "Wrong Side Raju" won the National Film Award for Best Motion Picture in Gujarati. The next film, "Reva," took up the 66th National Film Award for Best Motion Picture in Gujarati.
The Gujarati film industry's most admirable quality is that it consistently embraces Bollywood stars who are not Gujarati (Bollywood). Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood celebrity, and Jaya Bachchan both had cameo appearances in "Carry On Kesar."
The Gujarati film sector has produced numerous films filmed outside of India, demonstrating the sector's rapid expansion. The industry supports artistic filmmaking and its promotion across various media.
More than 8 crore Gujaratis and a global audience have been reached by Gujarati cinema thanks to innovation and art over the years. Gujaratis are wealthy, and the Gujarati movie business will soon reach new heights of development. There are several Gujarati actors in Bollywood as well.
Bhojpuri Film Industry
In recent years, Bhojpuri cinema has seen a significant evolution. This has enticed numerous prominent Bollywood actors to join the Bhojpuri film industry.
Bhojpuri film was fighting for its life and was on the verge of extinction until lately. However, the collaborative effort of the Bhojpuri film industry's creators, directors, and producers brought the sector back to life by turning it profitable once more.
Bhojpuri cinema has established a niche today, and its popularity on the international market has skyrocketed. There is a worldwide audience for Bhojpuri films, not just in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Indian diaspora living in Brazil, Fiji, South Africa, Guyana, Suriname, Mozambique, and Trinidad & Tobago enjoys watching Bhojpuri films. To know more about this in detail you can log into our Bhojpuri film industry app.
Marathi Film Industry
The Marathi film industry has continuously produced works of art. The business has developed a reputation for being content-centric and important thanks to movies like Fandry, Court, and Kaasav. A few years ago, the phenomenal box office success of Marathi films like Sairat, Natsamrat, and Lai Bhaari gave the impression that the industry was prosperous. But, the reality of Marathi cinema's box office performance could be better. 2019 witnessed 11 weeks where three or more Marathi films were released on the same day, which is unusual in an industry where even a solo movie struggles to maintain at the box office. This gives these movies no chance at the box office.
The Marathi movie business has its work cut out for it as the pandemic effect on the box office fades over time, and the box office throughout languages starts to rebound. It must address some fundamental structural issues for more sustained success at the box office. To know more about this in detail, you can log into our Marathi film industry app.
Bollywood is acknowledged as having the biggest global film production sector. In all, 2961 films were made in India, including 1602 features in 2012. India offers some of the lowest prices in the planet for movie tickets.

Quote
The Great Famine of 1900, known in popular parlance as chhappaniyo, (referring to Vikram Era 1956) set in motion the migration of not only peasant communities but Dalits as well. Realizing the limit of land based activity, the peasant communities began diversifying into modern sectors – commerce, industry and technical education. Even the Brahmins and Banias from Hindu upper castes and Muslims with a trading background – Bohra, Khoja and Memon – were part of this trend. A few took the route to Africa and Fiji. The combined impact of such migration resulted in greater urbanisation within Gujarat and the expansion of a prosperous Gujarati diaspora. The second wave of migration from rural Gujarat started in mid-20th century after land reform measures were initiated by the Congress government in Bombay and Saurashtra states. In 1911, less than 20% of the population of Gujarat was concentrated in urban areas and of that only 18% resided in two cities with more than 100,000 population. By 1951, 27% of the population was urbanised and of that 36% was concentrated in six cities with more than 100,000 population.

Gulf migration is not just a major phenomenon in Kerala; north Indian states also see massive migration to the Gulf. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar accounted for the biggest share (30% and 15%) of all Indian workers migrating to GCC1 countries in 2016-17 (Khan 2023)—a trend which continues today. Remittances from the Gulf have brought about significant growth in Bihar’s economy (Khan 2023)—as part of a migrant’s family, I have observed a tangible shift in the quality of life, education, houses, and so on, in Siwan. In Bihar, three districts—Siwan, Gopalganj, and Chapra—send the majority of Gulf migrants from the state, mostly for manual labor (Khan 2023). Bihar also sees internal migration of daily wagers to Delhi, Bombay, and other parts of India. Gulf migration from India’s northern regions, like elsewhere in India, began after the oil boom in the 1970s. Before this time, migration was limited to a few places such as Assam, Calcutta, Bokaro, and Barauni—my own grandfather worked in the Bokaro steel factory.
Despite the role of Gulf migration and internal migration in north Indian regions, we see a representational void in popular culture. Bollywood films on migration largely use rural settings, focussing on people who work in the USA, Europe, or Canada. The narratives centre these migrants’ love for the land and use dialogue such as ‘mitti ki khusbu‘ (fragrance of homeland). Few Bollywood films, like Dor and Silvat, portray internal migration and Gulf migration. While Bollywood films frequently centre diasporic experiences such as Gujaratis in the USA and Punjabis in Canada, they fail in portraying Bihari migrants, be they indentured labourers in the diaspora, daily wagers in Bengal, or Gulf migrants. The regional Bhojpuri film industry fares no better in this regard. ‘A good chunk of the budget is spent on songs since Bhojpuri songs have an even larger viewership that goes beyond the Bhojpuri-speaking public’, notes Ahmed (2022), marking a context where there is little purchase for Gulf migration to be used as a reference to narrate human stories of longing, sacrifice, and family.
One reason for this biased representation of migration is that we see ‘migration’ as a monolith. In academic discourse, too, migration is often depicted as a commonplace phenomenon, but I believe it is crucial to make nuanced distinctions in the usage of the terms ‘migration’ and ‘migrant’. The term ‘migration’ is a broad umbrella term that may oversimplify the diverse experiences within this category. My specific concern is about Gulf migrants, as their migration often occurs under challenging circumstances. For individuals from my region, heading to the Gulf is typically a last resort. This kind of migration leads to many difficulties, especially when it distances migrants from their family for much of their lifetime. The term ‘migration’, therefore, inadequately captures the profound differences between, for instance, migrating to the USA for educational purposes and migrating to the Gulf for labour jobs. Bihar has a rich history of migration, dating back to the era of indentured labor known as girmitiya. Following the abolition of slavery in 1883, colonial powers engaged in the recruitment of laborers for their other colonies through agreements (Jha 2019). Girmitiya distinguishes itself from the migration. People who are going to the Arabian Gulf as blue-collar labourers are also called ‘Gulf migrants’—a term that erases how their conditions are very close to slavery. This is why, as a son who rarely saw his father, I prefer to call myself a ‘victim of migration’ rather than just a ‘part of migration’. It is this sense of victimhood and lack of control over one’s life that I saw missing in Bollywood and Bhojpuri cinema.

Meet my boy New Jersey !!
His human name is Daniel Burr, but he exclusively goes by Danny and will knock your lights out if you call him Daniel. He's physically 23 and is the 14th oldest state.
Danny has quite the personality. He's proud, hot tempered, confrontational, dramatic, sarcastic, loud, lively, sassy, blunt, good-humored, passionate, impatient, a jokester, hardworking, diligent, sociable, intelligent, quick-witted, sharp, snarky, fiercely loyal, honest, slightly cynical, pragmatic, analytical, industrious, outspoken and opinionated. He actually makes friends surprisingly easily and loves chatting up strangers, but he also loves starting fights and arguments with some of the other states. He lives for drama. He's very proud and has a very short temper as well. He will not hesitate to speak his mind on anything or call people out when they're being idiotic or irresponsible without regard for their feelings.
Some fun facts about him:
He's 5'5 or 165 cm in height. He's the third shortest male state, being taller than Rhode Island and Delaware.
He has roughly 3A hair
He speaks 18 languages fluently outside of his Indigenous languages, and is learning a further ten languages.
He can fluently speak English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Tagalog, Gujarati, Korean, Arabic, Polish, Greek, Haitian, Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian and French. He is currently learning and speaks some Yoruba, Ukrainian, Japanese, German, Lithuanian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish, Tamil and Telugu.
He's Hispanic. Specifically, mixed white and Indigenous.
He is pretty much constantly fighting with New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania. He also on occasion fights with Massachusetts and Connecticut.
He starts drama and fights on purpose, for the sheer fun of it.
He's surprisingly very competitive and loves to prove himself by being good at things. However, his confidence isn't unfounded; he's a genuinely hard worker who throws himself wholeheartedly into learning new skills and things. He may like to brag, but he absolutely earns the right to.
He is the second best cook of all the states, behind Louisiana. He knows 2-8 recipes from over 80 countries, and he has well over 500 recipes under his belt. Similar to how New York loves learning languages, New Jersey loves learning recipes.
He's actually an insanely skilled driver with impeccably fast reflexes, and is quite possibly one of the very best drivers. He just has a personal vendetta against every single traffic law and driver out there. He can make death-defying turns in the blink of an eye, and will absolutely cut people off on the road for simply looking at him wrong. He has negative patience on the road and gets road rage very easily.
He's a very skilled and very hard worker. He's great at getting things done and getting them done on time.
Despite his argumentative and hot tempered nature, he actually makes friends very easily. He genuinely enjoys chatting up random strangers on the street and having hour long conversations over any topic they can think of. He's a great listener and an engaging conversationalist.
He likes spending time outdoors and in nature.
He jaywalks on occasion for fun.
He cares more about his appearance than he lets on
He's naturally very stylish. He especially loves jean jackets and jackets with pins on them.
He will complain if he has to drive more than half an hour to get anywhere.
He's very skilled at machinery, engineering and mechanics. He can fix up cars, repair wiring, repair machinery and make home improvements.
He talks fast and works faster
Despite his pride in his appearance, he's generally unafraid to get his hands dirty or jump headfirst into nature.
He's actually good friends with Romano, despite what one might think. The two bond over hating people and loving pasta and pizza.
He has a New Jersey accent
He's also, strangely enough, friends with Florida. Any of his insults just roll off of Florida's shoulders, and the two eventually became friends thanks to their shared loud, lively personalities. Danny still likes to play bicker with him, though.
His hobbies are cooking, listening to music, tinkering and complaining
He will complain about pretty much anything and everything.
He played a big part in the Industrial Revolution, like Pennsylvania, and remains his skill with machinery and mechanics to this day. He's not nearly as into it anymore as Pennsylvania is, but he does find joy in fixing up old cars.
He collects old cars.
He is very sarcastic, snarky and quick-witted. He has a nickname for pretty much everyone.
He converted to Judaism sometime during-after the Revolution and has stuck to it since. He's very proud of it.
He's the 11th oldest of the 13 colonies, and was physically 14 during the American Revolution.
He stole one house from England during the Revolution.
He will fight England nearly on sight. It's best to not have the two in the same room.
His likes include: Music, bagels, pizza, Italian food, pasta, diners, Dunkin, hoagies, subs, pork rolls, dancing, drive-in theater, tomatoes, saltwater taffy, Wawa, wine, blueberries, cranberries, corn, cooking, latino food, latino music, Springsteen, Bon Jovi, machinery, engineering, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, 70's music, partying, complaining, classic movies and old cars.
His dislikes include: New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, England, slow people, slow drivers and traffic laws.
I will be including more/posting more about him later on !! This is just what I have so far :))
I lowkey took loose inspo for him from one of my favorite fictional characters (who's from New Jersey), Danny Williams from 2010's Hawaii Five 0. If you want some idea of NJ's energy, watch clips of Danny Williams sdfghj. (Them sharing a first name is a total coincidence)

So remember when in Enola Holmes movie the whole message was that working class women are bad for fighting against patriarchy (specially if they do it with direct action), making a parallel with the suffragettes white women of the movie (bc of course the movie washed the imperialist, racist and classist suffragettes) and the only respectable ppl were the good upper class white woman that vote (which are represented, if so, by white upper class men in the House of Lords, depending on Tewkesbury) bc viva the democracy in the british empire that is, according to Enola herself, the best and most awesome country in the world...in the context that of being in it's COLONIALIST peak? Yeah, the movie was a big political propaganda against the social revolts that were occuring when was made. In the same time we had a full new resourge in media of the medieval period and the european 19th and 18th centuries, which highlights how cool in the monarchy, how good is the aristocracy, and the upper class in general, how good is the status quo and how capitalist society is the best and upper class ppl can do whatever they want, and that white ppl from the imperialist countries are "just like us", the common ppl, and the working class ones from the colonies and Global South in general. And now what we have? oh yeah, remember John Watson, the white dude from London that was a soldier of the British Empire in british invaded India to help colonization in Afghanistan which eventually ended being defeated by the criminal british empire, the one that put a new emir in Afghanistan, u know, classic western coup? yes, that dude is now a dude of colour who is gonna be a good colonized who put on the costume of whiteness. played by Himesh Patel (which also use the costume of whiteness), whos family are indian Gujaratis emigrants from Zambia and Kenya, all territories that have to deal with the damage that did and STILL does the British Empire... yes, British Empire bc saying UK is a democratic country and not a colonialist empire as always that does whatever it wants would be a lie. Sooo lovely to feed up the eternal queer bating of Holmes and Watson to just keep making money while also doing tokenism and washing the image of the colonialists.
So, yes, lets keep pushing cultural colonialism and capitalist agenda to preserve the power. So fun to see how ppl buy that bullshit bc its make via movies, like this ones with Millie Bobby Brown that is sadly traped in the horrors of the industry and is already a product of consumption and used as a fascist messager and dressep up in the fake empowered women which is, as her character, just a upper class white women that will help to preserve the status quo and keep the machine working. Guy Debord's Society of the spectacle who? the fans of this movies don't know it and never will care bc if in 2022 ppl can't get it at plain sight they never will. and really? they dont care.

QUESTION 142:
What are the 5 most uncommon language pair requests that LSP's receive?
Chat GPT's Response:
Determining the absolute least common language pairs requested by Language Service Providers (LSPs) can be challenging due to the diversity of global communication needs. However, some language pairs are undoubtedly less common than others. Here are five that are relatively uncommon:
Nepali to Icelandic: This combination involves translating between Nepali, spoken primarily in Nepal, and Icelandic, spoken in Iceland. The rarity stems from the geographical and linguistic distance between these two languages.
Lao to Catalan: Lao is the official language of Laos, while Catalan is spoken in parts of Spain, France, and Italy. The demand for translation between these two languages is likely limited due to their geographic and cultural separation.
Gujarati to Finnish: Gujarati is spoken in the Indian state of Gujarat and various diaspora communities, while Finnish is the official language of Finland. The demand for translation between these two languages is relatively low compared to more widely spoken languages.
Amharic to Vietnamese: Amharic is the official language of Ethiopia, while Vietnamese is spoken primarily in Vietnam and parts of Southeast Asia. The combination of these two languages is rare due to their geographical and cultural differences.
Samoan to Ukrainian: Samoan is spoken mainly in Samoa and American Samoa, while Ukrainian is the official language of Ukraine. The demand for translation between these two languages is likely minimal due to their limited overlap in terms of speakers and cultural connections.
While these language pairs are among the least common, it's essential to remember that demand can vary based on specific industries, migration patterns, and geopolitical factors.

The Rise of GGBS Manufacturers in India and Gujarat
Material selection is a vital area in green or sustainable construction. In this regard, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) has been revealed as a game-changer that offers both environmental advantages and outstanding structural integrity. With the increased attention to the environment-friendly construction phenomena, the manufacturers of GGBS in India and particularly in Gujarat are turning to be more visible than ever. The essay focuses on GGBS in the modern construction, the role of manufacturers in India and the budding industry in Gujarat.
Understanding GGBS:
Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag, a byproduct of the iron and steel industry, is a product resulting from slow cooling of molten iron slag by water. This reaction results in a glassy granular material, and by grinding its particles finally this material will display cementations behavior. GGBS is famous for its pozzolanic and hydration properties, and this makes it one of the best SCMs in concrete mortar production.
Environmental Benefits:
The positive impact of GGBS on the environment is undoubtedly one of the considerable benefits of this process. By replacing part of cement with GGBS, these construction projects can cut down the amount of CO₂ released. The manufacture of GGBS in India is the key factor, which enables the system maintaining sustainable construction approaches through provision of an alternative to the traditional cement, which produces a large amount of global carbon emissions.
Enhanced Performance:
Besides being environmentally friendly, GGBS also boosts the characteristics of concrete in a diverse range of ways. Its finer granulated size will enhance workability and lower down the water requirement which will in turn produce highly dense and very durable concrete structures. Furthermore, the concrete with GGBS is superior in resistance to chloride ions and sulfate attacks, which is seen in maritime and aggressive environments.
The Role of GGBS Manufacturers in India:
India, being the country with a booming construction sector and a new goal of sustainability, is an intractable market for Ggbs Manufacturer In India. These manufacturers perform an on-point role in meeting the escalating demand for eco-sensitive building materials. Disregarding all states in India, Gujarat is the state to be reckoned with when it comes to the production of GGBS. The strong industrial framework, availability of raw materials and the friendly government framework are the main factors that have brought a number of GGBS manufacturers in the state. Companies in Gujarat employ the latest technologies and stringent quality checks to manufacture GGBS that comply with worldwide standards.
Challenges and Opportunities:
Although the Gujarati Ggbs Manufacturer In India has achieved a great deal, there are still some difficulties to be overcome. These comprise restricted knowledge among the construction employees, slowness in adopting new materials, as well as competition from traditional cement producers. Nonetheless, these obstacles are also a source of creativity, collaboration, and market diversification.
Future Outlook:
It looks like a bright future for Ggbs Manufacturer In Gujarat not only in India but also in Gujarat. As Eco-friendly considerations in building projects increase, the demand for GGBS is supposed to rise. Ongoing research and development (R&D) initiatives by GGBS manufacturers will ensure the availability of high-end products that respond to the dynamic requirements within the construction industry.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Indian and Ggbs Manufacturer In Gujarat are at the forefront of the sustainable construction revolution. Through the use of GGBS, the cement content in concrete production can be lowered which would not only reduce the environmental impact of construction activities, but also improve the performance and service life of concrete structures. Indicating the increase of awareness as well as related regulations that back environmental-friendly processes, manufacturing GGBS will become more and more fundamental in the construction industry not only in India but the whole world.
