When Zane found the blueprints in his father’s old lab, showing his design and revealing what he was, he thought it would be the last major discovery about himself that he would find.
Oh how wrong he ended up being.
He always had dreams. Prophecies. Memories. Not quite to the degree that Lloyd began to have them, but they came all the same.
When they needed to discover more about the serpentine war, they became all the more vivid.
He was fighting. For his friends. To defend them. Ice wrapped around him. His dark hands, the only exposed skin he had reached and pulled his friend to their feet. “Watch your step,” he told them. The man who looked up bore a resemblance to Lloyd in a distant way. His hair was a similar colour and he had a serious expression set on his face in a similar way, too weary to be on the face of someone so young, just like Lloyd.
“Thank you. We must hurry.”
The sounds of battle crept up behind him slowly as they ran. He used his powers to create ice walls left and right to keep their assailants out. They were heading somewhere. They were trying to get to something but what--
Dreams were a funny thing when you did not sleep. Even stranger was waking up.
Zane did not need to recharge. He had a self-sustaining power source. Still, sometimes he would still need rest if he overused it, not unlike his human counterparts needing sleep. Sometimes he would close his eyes and other times he would lay down and stare up at the stars or relax and read. Sometimes his eyes closed on their own, and although it was not sleeping, it was very close to it.
In this case he woke up with something in his chest pulsing, not unlike a heartbeat he thought. He didn’t need to breathe but he breathed anyway. In and out. Long and slow.
In all honesty he had never wondered. But now, it was time to ask.
“I’m gonna be totally honest with you, dude,” Jay said. “I have no idea what this is.”
Zane sat on the metal table in their little room set aside for experiments on the bounty, his chest compartment open, wires and things clipped and plugged inside and hooked up to the ship’s computers. His power source pulsed like a heartbeat as it always did, its bluish white light reflected in the color of his eyes. He contemplated Jay’s diagnoses.
“Nya and Pixal could not explain it either.”
“Oh, I was the last person you came to, awesome. Love that. I feel very appreciated and properly utilized.”
Zane smiled. “I did not wish to interrupt your gaming.”
“Sure, sure,” Jay waved his hand dismissively. “You don’t have to lie to me. I’m not real active with this kinda stuff anymore anyway.”
“Do you regret not being involved in it?”
“Eh,” said Jay, “I’ve got other stuff to fill the time now.”
“You can always come back to it.”
Jay paused to stare down at the wires and pliers in his hands for a long while.
“Maybe.”
Zane smiled. “I am sure Nya and Pixal would appreciate your company.”

Pixal was always very digitally focused. Despite being a nindriod himself, Zane had never felt the same pull towards technology that she did. He always operated off of instinct.
When they discussed it one time, Pixal had been intrigued about how he interacted with technology because, in her words, it seemed as though he operated things through feeling rather than numbers or calculations. Which was a funny thing to hear considering he was known by the rest of the team as the most calculating of the bunch.
Zane connected with technology the way he connected with his elemental power. Instinct, practice. He didn’t know the logistics of how it worked behind the scenes, behind the instinct and feeling. It had been that way since his first days training with Master Wu. His ‘sixth sense’, they called it. Now there were numbers that flashed across his vision when he calculated certain things, when he felt who was close and who was far. Then, it had been nothing but a feeling.
What a silly and confusing thing it was to not be human but to operate off of feeling.
“You’re different, Zane,” Pixal told him.
“Well,” said Zane, “I am a nindriod.”
“So am I,” Pixal told him. “And you are still different.”
That sat with him for a few days. He pondered on it quite a bit. Turning it over in his mind again and again. He was different, wasn’t he? Even in the body of a young adult without his memories he had always acted older than his counterparts. He had attempted to imitate and enjoy things with them and he truly had, but it had taken some practice.
Still, what he was remained a mystery. Not even Wu could comprehend what powered him.
“When I look, what I see is the element of ice, contained within you.That is all.”
Which, in and of itself, was a curious thing.
How was it possible for a vessel of technology to hold an element? How was it possible for the element to dwell in that vessel when it was passed from parent to child, through destiny and fate rather than human engineering?
“I guess we could try taking it apart,” Nya said. “But we don’t know what that would do to you.”
His core wasn’t what it used to be. There wasn’t a piece of it that he could spare. When the original source was destroyed by the overlord--when he had been destroyed by the overlord--the only piece that remained belonged to Pixal, who Chen’s men had dismantled to retrieve the remaining piece of Zane’s core from and place it into Zane’s new titanium body. That piece now resided in Zane’s chest as before. Small and there was no telling what would happen if they split it another time or if they chose to experiment on it, so what it was would remain a mystery.
For now.
Zane kept dreaming. He kept seeing a battle, feeling urgency. He kept seeing his father’s face, younger than he ever remembered witnessing.
In the end what he chose to do was visit the site of the battle that he kept dreaming about.
It was in an eastern area of the Birchwood forest. A distance away from his father’s original laboratory in a still snowy but warmer climate. He placed his hand on the frosted over birch that felt so familiar. He felt as though he had woven through them before despite never having set foot in this area of the forest. His father had never explored this far nor bothered to leave the lab.
It was curious. That it felt so familiar. Curious that he felt… no, he knew he’d been here before, but according to Pixal no one had set foot in this forest since the war had ended.
He scanned his surroundings. He could feel when his titanium skin started to frost over after being there for a few hours.
“Have you found what you are looking for?” Pixal inquired, her voice settling comfortably inside his head as it had when she had no body to linger elsewhere. It was something that was familiar too. Something that was a memory that he knew he had experienced himself.
“I am not sure,” he confessed. “It’s a strange feeling, is all.”
“What will you do?”
“I will come back home.”
And he did just that.
“Find anything?” Kai asked him when he landed on the deck of the Bounty. He was sitting on the steps leading up to the control cabin.
“Nothing but old graves, I’m afraid.”
“Too bad. You’ll figure it out eventually. Just let us know if you need anything.”
“Thank you, Kai. I will.”
There were curious things about himself he could not put his finger on, but he would always have his friends there to help him discover and support him if what he found was not what he expected.
“I heard you’ve been having dreams.”
Zane glanced to see Cole leaning against the doorframe of his room. “Yes.” He watched as Cole entered, taking his response as the invitation it was. He came to sit next to him on the bed Zane didn’t need but still used.
“Have you talked to Lloyd about it?”
“Not yet. I was attempting to investigate first of all. If I were having visions of the future I would have initiated discussion with haste, but to my knowledge thus far they are things of the past.” Saying what he thought they were--the previous master of ice’s memories--felt inaccurate somehow. Saying they belonged to someone else didn’t feel right. And if Zane had learned anything from his time living, it was that his feelings often allowed him to see while logic blinded him.
He closed his eyes and breathed for a moment despite the fact he did not need to.
“What do you feel like it is?”
When he opened his eyes Cole was watching him. He was the first person to ask him that. Not what he thought it was. What he felt.
He remained still as he thought for a minute. “Something. I feel it is something.”
“It’s not nothing. It’s something,” Cole repeated.
“Yes.” Zane said.
“Okay,” said Cole. Zane could hear in his tone that he believed him. “So what next?”
“I follow where I feel.”
“Like always then,” Cole smiled.
Zane smiled slowly back. “Yes. Like always.”
It was comforting to know Cole trusted his instincts. That his family trusted his instincts. At times he did not feel he deserved such intense trust, but he was grateful for it nonetheless.
Like Cole said, whatever this was, he’d figure it out.
He was Zane, Elemental Master of Ice. Titanium Ninja. And possibly, if his theories were correct… something more.

So... Been a while... I am really nervous about posting because it has been so long! But I put my big girl pants on and I'm just going to do it. This chapter had to be split in half, which was a small reason for why this took so long to put out, the other part is that I think some of it is a bit dry... Exposition is hard!!!! The next part isn't quite finished but this point was a natural stopping point so I figure, post this and then maybe I won't be so in my head about the next bit.

I woke up with a start.
My heart was beating as fast as a mouse’s and I was sucking in huge gulps of air that failed to fill the hollow in my chest. I was shaking, every muscle and sinew quivering with a chilling thrum, yet I was frozen. I willed myself to move but my glaciated neurons refused to fire, iced over, hardened, ready to snap.
From behind me, a heavy arm moved on my waist and a hand pressed against my belly as soft whiskers and gentle lips caressed and the back of my neck. Relief warmed my blood in a balmy rush, my body thawing in a heady and welcomed surge.
Marshall. It was only Marshall.
“Alright?” he asked, his voice low and rough from sleep.
I hummed, not quite ready to speak. I looked at the clock on the nightstand. Small and generic, its garish neon green digital numerals reminded me that my room wasn’t actually my room and my briefly mollified anxiety inched its way back into my tightening chest.
I’d barely slept, little more than dozed. I wondered if I should get up and shower, but I didn’t want to disturb Marshall. So I laid there and listened to his breathing return to its regular cadence while I tried to recall and hold onto my dream. I might as well have tried to catch a cloud, the memories were wispy vapours, too vague and insubstantial to retain, leaving behind echoing stains of dread and emptiness.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out what I had dreamed of. The strange and rapid life changes over the past couple of weeks made it possible for me to push aside the grief from the loss of my parents and focus on other things like my anger at Nate, the shocking revelations about Jake, and the developing situation with the Brothers. I may have made a conscious decision not to dwell and process my emotions, but my subconscious was obviously not on board.
I focussed on the rhythm of Marshall’s breathing, the soft reverberation in his throat on each inhale and the sturdy snugness of his arms while I pushed down the lingering feelings, stuffing them like clothes into a laundry basket, deep into the recesses of my mind. Even as I crammed them away, I knew I’d have to deal with my emotions at some point. I told myself I would, just not today, or tomorrow. Maybe in a month or two. Or three. When I was home again, or alone, or when things were back to normal.
Eventually, the residual fear from my lost dream ebbed and slowly faded while a myriad of new ones took its place.
Had last night been another mistake on the long list of mistakes I had made. Was Marshall another Jake? Was Sy for that matter?
Sy.
Now that Marshall and I had crossed the Rubicon, would Sy still feel the same way about me when he returned and faced the reality of what he had agreed to? Or, had the existence of the pact forced him to adhere to it out of a sense of bravado and loyalty to the Brotherhood? Had I just turned myself into another groupie, a woman destined for a lifetime of disrespect, deception and disillusion, stupidly thinking that an outlaw, an outsider, a biker, could change for them?
I waited for the gut feeling that I had fucked up by sleeping with Marshall to arrive, but it never came. Of course there were no guarantees in any relationship, but everything that had happened with Marshall had felt sincere and genuine.
“I can hear you thinking,” Marshall grumbled. His breath was warm against my ear and his gentle accent made me shiver as a heated rush rippled across my skin, soothing and comforting me.
“I thought you were asleep,” I said.
He grunted and shifted his body until he laid on his back. I rolled over, following him and he tucked me under his arm. He glanced with a half smile that I barely picked up in the darkness of the room. I returned it and his grin grew slightly bigger before he laid his head back into the pillows.
“My sleep cycle has been off for years. Never recovered from shift work with the PD.”
I shimmied closer to him, pressing my breasts against his side, resting my thigh across his hips and dipped my fingers into the thick, coarse curls that spread across his chest from shoulder to shoulder. In response, I felt him stroke my arm, the tips of his fingers tracing an invisible path.
“Marshall?”
“Lori,” he replied, one side of his mouth lifting in a smirk.
“How did you end up in the Brotherhood?”
His smile vanished instantly and after a couple of passes over my arm, his hand stopped his caress, pausing mid stroke. His eyes sought out mine and I made it easier for him, by laying my chin on his chest, ignoring the way his wispy hairs tickled my jaw.
“There were a series of murders. Women, young women, some still teens. To call them murders doesn’t go far enough, each one was assaulted, tortured…” Marshall trailed off but his fingers began to stroke me again, this time sweeping over my back.
“You don’t have to tell me,” I said.
Marshall grunted and took a deep breath. “It was a long investigation that led nowhere. We had physical evidence, DNA, but no matches in the system and no motives. There were no useful eyewitnesses, no connections between the victims, they were of different racial backgrounds, economic status, from all over the city. We kept hitting dead ends, every lead we had didn’t pan out. Meanwhile, more girls were showing up dead, nearly a dozen and the media were breathing down our necks.”
He scoffed, his lip curled in disgust.
“They can be viscous,” I said, remembering the media circus that followed my parents' death.
Lifting his head, Marshall kissed my forehead before continuing.
“Eventually a name popped up that looked promising, he had been a contact in four of the victim’s phones. No other number had shown up twice, let alone four times. So we started an investigation into him. Found out he was a CEO of a financial institution or an investment bank, I don’t remember which. He was young, one of those prodigious financial wizards that seemed to have the Midas touch. He was famous in the financial world, puff pieces in newspapers, magazines, you know the type?”
I nodded and he continued.
“We’d barely gotten further than collecting basic background on this guy when the case was taken out of our hands by the Feds. I was furious, obviously, their jurisdiction over the case was on a flimsy basis at best. There was nothing I could do about it but wait for news of the investigation. However, months went by and… nothing. No news, no arrests, no more media reports, nothing.”
“He wasn’t the guy?”
Marshall shrugged. “I thought I must have been wrong. After a year, a homeless guy was arrested and charged.”
“So you had the wrong guy, after all?”
Marshall chuffed and shook his head.
“I knew in my gut the man they arrested was a patsy. I looked into it. I talked to some of his friends from the streets and as far as I could tell he wasn’t even in town when the first three victims had been murdered. His friends said he came to the city to attend the funeral of his murdered daughter.”
“No,” I gasped, my mouth covering my hand in shock.
“Yes,” Marshall said, “He was the father of the first victim we found. We had tried to contact him in the early days of the investigation, but he couldn’t be located. By the time he had discovered what happened to his daughter, there had been other victims and it was no longer a priority to find him and rule him out as a suspect.”
I thought about Nate and my father. I had never been privy to the dealings of the club, but you picked things up. The club had a surprisingly low number of members with criminal records and although I had never been explicitly told, I knew it was because the “right” people had been paid off for years. I figured the real killer must have been doing something similar, but on a massive scale.
“So what did you do?” I asked.
“I took my theories up the chain and requested permission to do my own investigation. I was told in no uncertain terms that if I did that, it would cost me my badge.”
I raised my eyebrows. “Shit.”
“I couldn’t let it go though. I knew I couldn’t investigate alone and I suspected that I might be under surveillance. I couldn’t ask anyone else in the department to risk their job, so I called a guy I trusted. He used to be a bounty hunter but by then was working as a private security contractor.”
“Geralt?” I guessed.
“Geralt,” Marshall repeated. “He used his connections and reported back that there had been rumours floating about this guy for years, from his college days to his early Wall Street days to this case. Reports of domestic violence from women he’d had relationships with and assaults on sex workers that always seemed to be retracted or ignored. Somehow, this fucking guy kept getting away with fucking murder because of his connections.”
He closed his eyes and the muscles of his jaw pulsed beneath his thickly bearded skin. Swallowing hard, he opened his eyes and his voice was husky as he continued.
“When I realised what they had done to that man, that girl’s father… I wasn’t particularly idealistic and I wasn’t naive, but I had never thought that this level of corruption could happen. The Feds, the media, the PD; how many people must be involved, how many people were paid off or blackmailed? Everything I knew, everything I….”
He shrugged and was quiet. I waited, sure he had more to say. But he stayed silent, jaw twitching again and his eyes seemed to glaze over as his thoughts seemed to drift away.
I placed my hand on his cheek, my thumb sweeping along the bone and tilted my head to kiss his chest softly. Marshall’s hand went to my hair stroking my hair off my face.
“I quit. I couldn’t do that kind of work again, not knowing what I knew. I went back to Geralt, thinking with my SWAT background, maybe I’d try private security. Instead, Geralt introduced me to Sy and Walker.”
“What happened to the CEO?”
Marshall’s grin was a little disconcerting as he replied, “He got his in the end. An international financial scandal ruined him. The bank he headed was laundering money for the cartels and he was directly implicated in running the scam. The CIA got him for that one, apparently his reach didn’t go that far.”
“What happened to the father?” I asked.
“Suicide in prison while awaiting trial. It was a fucking joke.”
“I’m sorry, Walter,” I said softly.
His eyes found mine. Blue, deep and clear, they held me and I couldn’t look away. He sighed and shifted his hips. The movement made his thigh brush high between my legs and I became very conscious of the fact that both of us were naked.
The atmosphere changed, the air crackled with an electric anticipation and a heady jolt of lust worked its way down my spine to my core. I wasn’t alone, Marshall breathing became heavy, his nostrils flaring as he drew in each breath and his chest swelled.

I've been thinking about the peeps who wants to make an adri*nette spin on your Dread String of Fate au and... Adrien had shown time and time again that he doesn't act for other people's sake as long as it's not affecting him (effing high road my foot) or he benefits from it ("peace" in the class despite it not being fair to Marinette). To do an adri*nette spin to your au is to make him give up the cat miraculous as it is tangled with his ring finger and the ring. Which I can't imagine him doing considering his coddled actions. But a fanfic writer can make it believable, I think, if they would develop his character first, or make him a better version of himself in the get-go. But the thing is, Luka is already at the advantage of giving Marinette a chance to change her fate as he isn't too in deep in the thorns of the problem and has canonically shown more altruism for her. Feather stans can do what they wanna do. But I'm gonna say it: you've already done it better.

Adrien taking off the cat would only be the starting process. Honestly, whether or not he’s “concerned” about the whole red string, any strategy he’d employ would probably be more akin to the ‘Glaciator 2″ method (i.e: try to cater to Ladybug without actually addressing the issue at hand), so he’d be more likely to just see if the string can be moved rather than the bond outright being broken.
To make a version of my AU that’s love square (which is already scummy but I’ve explained that before; I just think it’s bordering on pathetic that the stans are so desperate/uncreative for a ship rife with content that they need to steal from other ships) would be defeating the point of the AU in the first place. The point is that even the foundation of the ship is flawed and Marinette has virtually no choice in any of it. They’d basically have to tear the entire love square down and then rebuild it from the ground up, and by then it’s either a different ship or not worth it.
And it’s not as though I think that the idea of breaking a soulmate bond just to fall in love “for real” afterwards is bad, but it doesn’t work with how the love square is set up, you feel me? Like--the ship would have to be set up for that sort of plot in advance and even then I think it’s a little cheap, like a, “hey, you know that thing that made the FL miserable? well, we fixed the agency issue but she’s still here, hopefully you’re just willing to move past all those bad memories.” I also feel like it’s a little ehhhhh psychologically because I wouldn’t be sure if Marinette would be there because she wanted to or because of the lingering feelings/memories of what the string forced upon her.
The other thing is that Luka is already a character who wants to go at Marinette’s pace and wants her to make her own choices. To make the AU Adrienette would basically be to turn Adrien into Luka which--congratulations, what a complete waste of time.
The character being attached to the other side of the string knowing is also another point against it because the idea is for someone from the outside to see it and get to learn about/react to it as if they were someone watching the show, and Luka having a dog in the race plays into things as well.

Okay, so I have too much on my plate with Demon in Gotham, the sequel, and my and @slytherinsheashire ‘s baby so I can’t write this au out as a story but I couldn’t get the idea out of my head so if any of you write this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tag me
Daminette endgame (through really can work with any ship in the maribat fandom)
So I know in most Daminette AUs we hate on Adrien because of his flaws in canon (which I am not against)
BUUUUT au where there was no love interest for Adrien/Chat Noir and Ladybug/Marinette to begin with, so they were Best Friends, and still are when Damian comes in
Like he is protective because That's My BFF but he's reasonable and not in love with her
He also actually has her back with Lila. He can't stand up stand up to her (because abusive father) but he hangs out with Marinette whenever he can and they make fun of Lila together when she can't hear them and he is passive-aggressive with her a lot
He likes Damian but by Rule of Best Friends he does threaten him if he hurts his BFF
Alya is still a jerk but Adrien is passive (agreste)sive with her too about fact-checking
Also, Alya totally thinks Mari liked Adrien and doesn’t listen to Mari saying no
CN completely hates Lila btw because not only is she lying about Red Best Friend but she's bullying Pink Best Friend and while Adrien has to be nice CN doesn't!
A mental image: Adrien telling Lila she looks pretty, "today," before running off before she picks up on the insult
He also as CN takes his job more seriously and only banters on patrol and such. He didn't at first but LB took him aside and explained why she was annoyed and he stopped – because that’s what you do when your BFF asks you to!!
When the reveal happens Adrien is like, "you are my mega ultra best friend now"
Because I don't really ship Adrien with anyone but Mari I HC that in this au he's aro ace. If you ship him with someone he can just not be interested in Mari (gaydrien is also an option) but the rest of this will continue as if he is aro ace, change as needed if you write differently
He and Mari are the closest two BFFs can be but she and Damian are the ones with romantic feelings and such
Adrien is actually the one who suggests giving the Fox to Damian when Alya shows no signs on improving
He’s just the bestest of best friends and he never feels like Mari owes him anything and he gives terrible dating advice and they’re just! Best Friends!!
He also recognizes his dad as abusive and is trying to better himself while being under his father’s thumb. He’s essentially counting down the days to freedom at this point

Stoneheart – is the same up until they ‘fall in love’ CN is just super excited to have someone as awesome as LB as a friend. Mari doesn’t fall in love but she is a bit awkward with her new BFF at first
Stormy Weather – Alya, Manon, and Marinette all went to the park to bring Adrien a snack in stormy weather because he complained about his diet
CN banters, doesn’t flirt, stops bantering around Copycat when LB asks if he can focus on work when there is an akuma
Horrificator – Adrien was anti kiss no matter who the actress was. Nino, realizing he was making his bro uncomfortable, forgoes the kiss completely, despite Alya suddenly pushing for it once Marinette was volunteered as the lead girl
Animan – Adrien asked Mari if she had a crush on anyone first, because he didn’t want to put her in a situation where she was accidentally leading Nino on. All four of them end up going to the zoo together as planned but Mari locked Alya and Nino in the cage because Alya was annoying her about a ‘crush’ on Adrien
Dark Cupid – LB was venting about Alya trying to get her to confess her nonexistent crush and CN was ranting about ppl sending him letters without even knowing him or his sexuality. He teared up in his rant (when mentioning his father probs) and she hugged him and he saw Dark Cupid and shielded her. She kissed his cheek to break the spell
Prime Queen – Chamack was pushy with them being a couple but they both outright denied it and declared themselves best friends and only that. Mari, resident Bi, came out as lesbian as LB to throw ppl off her trail and make pushy shippers stop. CN hesitated about coming out as ace and, in private, told him he didn’t have to
Volpina – Adrien realized Lila was flirting and shut her down right away, saying he wasn’t interested. Marinette happened to be in the library at the time and she and Tikki saw her steal the book. As LB she confronted Lila about stealing and asked for it back. LB calmly and politely told her not to lie – Lila still gets akumatized. Because Adrien shut Lila down pre-superhero lie CN isn’t suspicious, LB is
Collector – When LB says Gabriel is HM, CN takes a moment to breathe before getting ready to fight. After the akuma he asks if HM can akumatize himself, and they both decide to start tracking akuma when they can
Gamer – lucky charm scene still happens, no romantic connotations to anything. Same with Befana
Bubbler – LB changes the music because Adrien looked so uncomfortable – not out of jealousy. Adrien sees her stitched name in the fabric and asks her privately. This is what starts him on the road of growing independent from his father’s abuse and lack of care
Rogercop – Adrien doesn’t even call his father. He doesn’t want him there and he wouldn’t come anyway, so he doesn’t try. However, he does use the ‘gotta call my father’ excuse to try and help Plagg out of the bracelet
Simon Says – Adrien accepts the hug from his father bug tells Plagg that it would have been warmer to hug a statue after, and he almost wishes his father hadn’t tainted the memory of hugs as a child. The ‘she looks like you’ scene still happens but it’s platonic. Adrien is bouncing and excited in all the Ladrien scenes because BEST FRIEND! RIGHT THERE!!!
Gigantian – the girls don’t do the date thing and are just doing each others’ hair for fun. Alya keeps insisting that Mari do something about her ‘crush’ but the other girls take Marinette’s side and she quits arguing while she’s ahead. Adrien wanders off which is how the akuma glances off Gorilla, then Mari pretends to be sick in the bathroom while going out to become LB
Glaciator – Marinette is upset because her BFF can’t go but she doesn’t get mad so no akuma
Gorilla – Marinette doesn’t really like the commercial because it doesn’t really fit the pun-loving dork that is her BFF but she still manages to be late to the pool then runs around with her BFF in her PJs which she isn’t embarrassed about. She gets mad on Adrien’s behalf when ppl call her his gf
Captain Hardrock – Mari gets a bit of a crush on Luka, Adrien 100% teases her and gives her bad dating advice
Syren – Adrien is upset that he’s out of the loop, but LB told him that she CAN’T tell him and it isn’t her choice to so he doesn’t throw a fit. He does detransform to talk out his feelings with Plagg but he doesn’t threaten to remove the ring or anything
Troublemaker, she has photos of all her classmates on her wall (she actually has the most of Juleka as proof of her picture curse being broken) and she has all her classmates’ schedules because class pres
Reverser – Nathaniel actually apologizes. Like that’s my only change tbh. I ship them but the writers should have included an apology scene, that’s on them (I fully believe Nathaniel apologized but the writers didn’t care enough to include it so f them)
Frozer – they all go to the rink as friends. Adrien invited Kagami for fun and they’re both trying to help Mari with Luka. Kagaminette friendship from that episode onward
Catalyst and Mayura – Alya’s headstrong-ness and Nino’s willingness to do what she says is what brings them down, to show their flaws beforehand. Chloe’s redemption isn’t thrown away like in canon so she has gotten better. CN recognizes his father’s voice but doesn’t react to it because he doesn’t want to expose himself. After Hero’s Day, he tells LB he knows who HM is and accidentally spills his identity – but she doesn't care at the moment because her BFF needs a hug. He doesn’t know LB’s identity but she knows his
Timebreaker, Evillustrator, Mr. Pidgeon, Darkblade, Princess Fragrance, The Mime, Pixelator, Guitar Villain, Reflecta, Kung Food, The Puppeteer, Antibug, Riposte, Robostus, Dark Owl, Sapotis, Gorilla, Frightningale, Zombizou, Queen Wasp, Maledictator, Anansi, Style Queen, and Despair Bear are the same just no lovesquare romance
Chameleon – Adrien doesn’t say the bull about the High Road, because he reconizes Lila is hurting Marinette. “But look at it this way – Ladybug calmly asked her to stop lying. I calmly asked her to stop lying. She gets akumatized no matter what. I think exposing her would just get us more trouble. We should stand up for ourselves, of course, but let the others realize for themselves that she’s a liar. Or at least wait until Hawkmoth is defeated before you expose her. Then she won’t get any superpowers out of it.”
At some point after that Mari says smth that LB said and he realizes who she is but that’s up to the writer to decide because then Damian Wayne enters the scene!
So Mari knows who HM is but she doesn’t know where to begin with that information so she asks Tikki for help. Tikki says one of her previous LBs are still alive and Mari contacts Hippolyta with magic
Hippolyta contacts Wonder Woman and WW realizes this may be better suited to someone who knows humans better so she passes the message along to Bruce
Bruce sighs and rubs his temple. He decides to send Damian
BTW time is actually passing through these episodes so everyone is about a month-ish apart so Mari is 15 almost 16 and Adrien is 16 now
Bruce sends Damian to help them with the final takedown of HM and Mayura

He saw her first.
She was sitting on the ledge of a house across the street and two rooftops over. Her shoulders were slumped forward and she was kicking her legs out, one then the other, back and forth, sky then brick. It was her I’m not upset, Chat, I’m just… thinking pose and Adrien hoped with some vindictiveness that he was the one she was thinking about.
Apparently Ladybug was too busy to meet up with Chat Noir but not too busy to lounge around on some random rooftop. And of course she could make time for her real friends and then some while her partner sat around with candles and flowers and a picnic he never got around to eating like the hopeless idiot he was.
God, she must think I’m so stupid.
Not that Ladybug even knew the effort he’d gone to for her tonight.
Adrien sighed, feeling his resentment escaping with his breath.
It was probably his fault anyways. Ladybug never actually said she would be able to come. Any hopes she’d dashed with her busy schedule were ones she never meant to raise anyways. That was all on him.
“I should have just asked her if she were free a different night.”
He’s not sure he would have had better luck but there was always a chance. He snorted, knowing how slim that chance actually was. His lady was ever the professional– she’d probably be too worried about their identities to show up no matter when he offered to bring her dinner.
Although… Adrien frowned, watching Ladybug from the window. She doesn’t seem too busy right now.
Before he could think better of it, he reached forward and pushed his window open, the squeaking of the window catching the superheroine’s attention. Adrien gave a wave and an awkward smile. At least, he felt it was awkward.
But he’d be damned if Chat Noir missed an opportunity to talk to his lady even if she didn’t know it was him.
Ladybug smiled and waved back. Even from here Adrien could see it was her savior smile, her all-is-well-in-Paris smile.
But Adrien knew better.
He hesitated, glancing back at his kwami who was currently rummaging through the trash can.
“Plagg I’m going to need you to hide.”
“What? Why?”
Adrien looked back towards his lady and gestured for her to come closer. “Because I’m about to invite Ladybug inside.”
“Kid are you a glutton for punishment? She’s not going to eyah!” Plagg’s words ended on an indignant grunt as Ladybug landed on Adrien’s window sill.
Even as he’d watched her swing over to him he still wasn’t sure she would actually stay. Ladybug didn’t seem too sure herself as she hung down from her yoyo attached to one of the many decorative outcroppings on the mansion.
Her eyes were wary but she smiled her savior smile all the same.
“Is everything okay?”
Adrien nodded, feeling a little embarrassed that his impulse actually brought her to him.
“I – yeah. I was actually going to ask you the same thing.”
“Oh?”
“It’s just usually we don’t see you around much unless there’s an akuma or you’re with Chat Noir.”
He struggled to maintain a neutral expression even as he blatantly fished for information. He hoped whenever (because it had to be when it just had to be) they finally revealed themselves to each other this night was a forgotten blip in her memory.
Ladybug shook her head.
“Paris is safe.” She paused. “I was actually just looking for Chat.”
A thrill shot through him.
“You were looking for Chat Noir?”
Ladybug sighed. “Yeah. He mentioned possibly meeting up tonight. I told him I already had plans but… well, things changed. I was hoping he might still be hanging around here somewhere.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, oh.”
Stupid. Stupid. He should have waited longer.
Adrien wondered if it were still too late to sneak out and set everything up again. As tempting as the idea was, he wasn’t sure how he could shake Ladybug now and ensure she was still out long enough to meet up with Chat Noir. Adrien nearly groaned. He seemed doomed to failure either way.
Ladybug bit her lip, unaware of his inner turmoil, and watched him from beneath her lashes.
“What about you?” She said.
“Me?”
“Yeah. What… what brought you out here tonight.” She made a vague gesture to the window and smiled. He blinked.
“Ah. I um, also thought I had plans. But they fell through.”
“I’m sorry.”
She said it like she understood. And maybe she thought she did. Gabriel Agreste made no secret of how… protective… he was over him. She probably assumed it was his father’s fault he missed out on what he had hoped to be a romantic evening with his lady.
His lady who was looking rather put out herself.
Which made him wonder…
“These plans that fell through…” He hesitated. “They were important?”
It was Ladybug’s turn to blink.
“I- um. N-no. Well, yes, but you- they- it– ah.” She cringed, her shoulders falling forward in defeat. Adrien was so distracted by her unusual stammering that he almost missed her next words. “The boy… the boy I like was supposed to be there.”
But when they did register boy did they register.
Something pinched deep in Adrien’s gut.
“The boy you– oh.” He said, softly.
She gave a small, sad laugh. “Yeah. Pathetic huh?”
He shook his head even if he couldn’t quite speak yet. Adrien had never given thought to it before – if Ladybug had someone outside the suit. Well, that’s not entirely true, but in all of his fantasies it was a moot point because she loved him too. Now it seemed there was a boy, some nameless idiot who held her heart and still managed to put that sad look on his lady’s face.
But still he had to ask–
“I always thought you and Chat Noir…?”
Here she laughed for real and irritation prickled his skin. He hadn’t meant it as a joke.
“I’m sorry,” She said, catching his expression, eyes still light even as her laughter faded into a smile. “It’s just, well, it’s Chat. He’s a flirt but he doesn’t mean anything by it.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure,” He murmured, angry at the sudden turn of their conversation. Even if he’d managed to meet up with her tonight it wouldn’t have mattered. She loved someone else and she thought Chat Noir was a joke.
“Trust me,” She said. “He’s one of my best friends. I think I would know.”
Adrien had to smile at the way she said best friend even if she was completely and totally wrong.
“But you don’t know for sure, right?” He pressed. Ladybug pressed her lips together, unimpressed. “You don’t know without a doubt that Chat Noir doesn’t have feelings for you?”
“I suppose not.” She watched him for a moment from suspicious eyes framed by long black lashes and Adrien shifted uneasily beneath her gaze. Finally, she shook her head and sighed. “It wouldn’t matter either way. I’m in love with someone else.”
But it did matter. It mattered a lot when Ladybug sounded so sad. It mattered the world when the answer was everything he’d ever wanted.
“But if you weren’t?”
Ladybug swayed softly with her yoyo even as she gripped his window sill with her free hand.
Her eyes were wary as he took a step closer. “If I wasn’t what?”
“If you weren’t in love with someone else would it matter then?”
Hands trembling he reached forward to take her hand so that the only thing keeping her steady was her feet on his ledge. He wasn’t sure what was more surprising- the fact that he was touching her at all or the fact that she let him. He ran his thumb over the spotted material covering her palm and steeled himself.
He glanced up at his lady only to find her staring at their hands, lips parted in quiet surprise.
“Would you give him a chance?”
Would you give me a chance?
Ladybug’s eyes snapped to his. Wide and blue and stunned, she watched as he leaned forward, heart pounding, and placed a soft kiss against the inside of her wrist. The material was cool and foreign against his lips but he could feel her pulse racing against his fingers and it gave him the confidence he needed to pull away from her and smile.
“I–” Her eyes roved him over, from silk pajama pants to his bedtime mussy hair. She blinked, once, twice, too many times to count even as he tried. A blush nearly as vibrant as her suit spread from beneath her mask and she let out something like a squeak as she pulled her hand back from his, floundering for a response.
Coughing, he avoided his partner’s piercing stare and ran his hand over the back of his neck.
“You should ask him.” He finally said.
Ladybug’s voice was quiet. “Ask him.”
“Yeah,” He murmured, chest aching, cheeks blazing. “I think you’ll be surprised.”
He waited for the inevitable then, knowing he’d been more than an idiot in the last half hour and trying hard to feel anything like regret. But at least she would know. At least she could… make an informed decision.
God how pathetic am I?
Adrien stared down at his feet and began to resign himself to a life of loneliness as the silence stretched out between them like forever. He could only hope this one moment of stupidity didn’t ruin Ladybug and Chat Noir or that Master Fu wouldn’t take Plagg away or that Chat Noir being Adrien Agreste didn’t make it easier for her to reject him.
The whirring of her yoyo and the sight of red and black feet dropping down beside his own shook him from his spiraling thoughts. Adrien looked up to find her, smile soft, eyes softer, staring back at him.
“You know what,” She said, voice quivering with her hands as they reached for his. Adrien’s breath stuttered to a stop as she slowly raised them to her lips. “I think I will.”

Oh wow that’s quite a list :’DDDD Let’s stick with one at a time Puppeteer 2.0 BUBBLER! (I rewatched the episode to refresh my memory)
The episode starts off with Marinette, Nino and Alya spamming Adrien with birthday wishes on his phone. Marinette’s messages have lots of hearts and jokes in them, making Adrien’s heart melt. He still doesn’t accept the smelly camembert from Plagg.
Marinette does the make the scarf for him as well as some passion fruit macarons, a recipe she perfected all night just for him. She has some doubts however, wondering if these gifts are too much or too little and if she’ll ruin the team dynamic or scare him- cue an overthinking Marinette and an Alya trying to calm her down.
Everytime she tries to give the gift, Marinette dumbly chickens out and avoids Adrien, much to his dismay. He was already upset that his father didn’t even see him or even acknowledge him, also refusing his request for a party so seeing Marinette run off every time he’s nearby really crushed him. He wondered if he was doing anything wrong, reaching far-fetched conclusions.
“Plagg! What if she moves away to London or Hawaii so that she never has to see my face again?? Then I’ll be alone forever, Le Papillon will take over Paris, Chloe will be insufferable and I’ll be ALONE FOREVER!”
“You said that twice,”
“I’M DESTINED TO MARRY LONELINESS!”
Luckily, Nino was quick to console the brooding blonde, telling him that maybe Marinette is up to something. Something for Adrien’s birthday. Adrien smiles at this, having some hope.
Things go similarly to canon; Nino tries convincing Adrien’s father for a party but gets rejected and called a bad influence, banned from entering the residence. (Gabriel is very cold in the beginning of the AU but slowly warms up). Nino gets akumatised the next moment.
When Le Bubbleur shows his presence along with the classmates, Adrien debates on whether to call Marinette for the transformation or to listen to Plagg and enjoy what’s possibly the only party he’d ever get.
He makes the rash decision in going for the party, still misunderstood by Marinette’s avoidance today. Poor Marinette on the other hand was running through Paris like a mad woman, following the bubble trail with Adrien’s present in hand.
As soon as Chloe’s request for a slow dance gets granted, Adrien immediately yeets himself away, out of the party with a big “NOPE!”, calling Marinette ASAP to alert her of the akuma’s location. He was hidden outside the house where there’s no cameras.
“So what made you think it’s a good idea to tell me this half an hour after he came to your house whilst I was scouring the other side of Paris like a headless chicken?” Her deadpanned tone sent a figurative arrow through Adrien’s body, sagging with so much guilt. How could he have let his selfishness get to him?
“I know, I’m sorry. I messed up- I just thought that I’d enjoy it whilst it lasts because it’ll never happen again. Ughhhhh...I’m such a spoilt brat...” The model was now hitting his head against the wall, hoping it’d knock some sense into him. “And you were acting all jumpy today, running away from me. I thought I did something to offend you or you hated me-”
“I could never hate you! Minou! It’s impossible to hate you.” Marinette’s voice turned soft and Adrien could tell that she was furrowing her eyebrows right now right this second. “I’m so sorry I made you think that. I was planning something in all honesty but kept on chickening out...”
“Oh? Don’t apologise, M’Lady. You know how I can get dramatic sometimes. And what are you planning? Something special for me?”
“Well~ considering how you partied with your akumatised best friend instead of calling me right away, I think you can make do without the special macarons I made.”
“NO! MARINETTE! YOU CANNOT TREAT YOUR ELDERS LIKE THAT! Talk about disrespectful...”
“Looks like Tikki is in for a treat tonight, isn’t that right?” The high pitched giggle from the red kwami was like torture to the boy.
“I’d do anything for your forgiveness, please, ANYTHING. Just don’t give my macarons to Tikki, my sweet, dear, amazing, wonderful, princess, knightress in shining spandex!” Plagg was close to gagging at his charge’s theatrics. Why is he always stuck with the sappy ones?
“Hahahah! Alright then, I just need you to turn around,”
“Turn around? Why-”
Suddenly, a soft, familiar pair of lips crashed into his whilst the small body collided into his. Arms wrapped around his neck romantically that Adrien couldn’t help but swoon internally. He was quick to respond, clasping his arms around Marinette’s waist and tilt his head slightly to deepen the kiss, ignorant to their bodies transforming into their heroic gears.
Supple cotton was replaced with a silky yet cool material. Gelled up blonde locks was replaced with fluffy, untamed hair. The feel of their lips against each others transformed into an indescribable feeling that only comes along when they’re their vigilant personas.
Ladybug was the first to pull, eyes still fluttered closed and lips pursed. Her gloss was smudged, leaving a residue on his lips and the boy couldn’t help but smirk victoriously.
“Happy Birthday, Adrien,” She breathed out. This broke whatever sense Chat’s mind had because before they knew it, his legs turned to jelly, making him melt into Ladybug’s arms. Literally.
“Best. Birthday. EVER.” Chat purred out dreamily, causing his lover to laugh heartily and set him back on his feet. Then, he saw the wrapped up present that Marinette placed on the side along with a box with the patisserie logo on it. Ladybug turned to see where he was staring, only to blush and look away, putting two pointer fingers together.
“T-T-There’s more stuff to give you but we really need to get to the akuma. Otherwise all the adults in Paris will be floating in space.” The words spilled out of her mouth faster than she could process, anxious once again.
The anxiety was melted away by the touch of his gloved hand resting on her cheek, making Ladybug look back at him. A beautiful, loving smile was resting on his lips, eyelids lowered with fondness as his head tilted ever so slightly to the side.
Chat Noir brought their lips together once more, not deterred by Ladybug’s surprised squeak. This kiss was much shorter than the first one but it carried a sweetness that could rival the macarons in its box. Chat let his hand caress her cheek once more before pulling away. His warm gaze never leaving his face whilst Ladybug felt her heart skip many beats. Their love grew for each other even more.
“Thank you, Marinette,”
So! They easily defeat Le Bubbleur, their trust in each other having grown, impacted towards their dynamics. Their moves were much more fluid and their gestures were easier to read.
After the battle, before everyone could go home, Gabriel steps out. His face was stern and Nathalie wore a matching one. Everyone held their breaths but Adrien simply kept an arm in front of both Nino and Marinette. Much to his surprise, Gabriel’s lips turned into a small smile, handing a present into Adrien’s hands. He wishes his son happy birthday, apologises to Nino for overreacting and clears Adrien’s schedule for the rest of the day so that he can party or have fun with his friends.
Giddy and delighted, Adrien embraces his father, tears of happiness running down his cheeks as he repeated “Thank you Father”. Everyone melts at this scene and even Gabriel embraces him back. The gift turned out to be a hand sewn cardigan “The amount of cat related jackets you own is appalling,”.
Adrien makes the most of this, introducing his father to his friends properly whilst everyone else mingles in the party. When Gabriel saw the happiness on Adrien’s face when he opened Marinette’s gifts, he knew that that’s his future daughter-in-law. Operation Adrinette commenced. He made Nathalie write that down.
Being a weeb at heart, Adrien wraps the scarf around both his neck and Marinette’s, their hands clasped and cheeks flushed. Everyone took pictures of them like that. Adrien has one framed in his room.

Reine Ruse AU
Welp, hello all. I’ve been a wallflower in the Miraculous fandom since it got started. I haven’t really written fanfic or published AUs or head-cannons online since middle school, but things this season have finally pushed me to the point where I guess I’m writing again. I’ve been so inspired by @imthepunchlord , @apex-primus, @gale-of-the-nomads , @zoe-oneesama, @lenoreofraven and @miraculouscontent that I guess I’m here with my own post-chameleon salt au.
Buckle up kiddos, here we go.
So I’m calling this the Reine Ruse AU. I’ve started writing a fic, but finals are coming up so I might not really get to sink my teeth into it for another month or so. Basically, here’s what goes down.
-During Chameleon, Chloe makes it clear that she doesn’t trust Lila and attempts to call the class out for being hypocritical. It obviously doesn’t go well, but Marinette hears and it surprises her.
-Chameleon follows pretty closely after the Queen’s Battle arc and Heroes’ Day, so perhaps Chloe has been noticeably trying to be a better person and Marinette/Ladybug has been keeping an eye on this and can see her trying.
-A few weeks have passed since Chameleon and Lila keeps escalating. The seats never got switched back, so Marinette is still stuck alone in the back of the room. She’s having a miserable time and she really needs to talk to somebody about things. She doesn’t want to bother her parents because they’re really busy with things in the bakery and she doesn’t want to trouble them. She obviously can’t talk to Alya about things right now as she’s still firmly on Lila’s side. Tikki is wonderful support, but she’s a tiny god and despite her many years of life and experiences she just doesn’t really understand. Frozer happened pretty recently in this AU, maybe even after Heroes’ Day. In any case, Frozer and Glaciator are pretty fresh in Marinette’s mind and she really loves her partner as a friend, but she’s getting a bit concerned about looking to Chat for support as Ladybug. She really doesn’t want to believe it, but some of his past behavior is making her question if he’ll think she owes him something if she relies on him like that.
-She’s not getting enough sleep and is spending a lot of time running over the rooftops with no particular destination in mind as Ladybug, just trying to forget what’s going on. She’d never admit it, but sometimes Tikki’s reassurances can get to be too much when it’s plain that no one else is there for her and she needs support but not that kind and she just wants to be alone.
-One night her feet bring her to the rooftop of the Grand Paris Hotel. It’s raining and she’s been running around for hours and she’s crying and tired and she doesn’t know why she’s here, but she starts thinking of how much better Chloe has gotten and even if she doesn’t like Marinette, she adores Ladybug and goddammit she just really needs somebody right now.
-Before she can second guess herself, she’s knocked on Chloe’s balcony door.

The last thing Chloe Bourgeois would have expected when she woke up that morning was for Ladybug to knock on her balcony door in the middle of the night. Nonetheless, she was nothing if not adaptable, especially for her idol. She adjusted her silk pajama robe and ran for the door to let Ladybug in.
“Ladybug! It’s so good to see you? Is there an akuma? Do you need my help? Did you stop by to say hello to your favorite civili---” Chloe cut herself off. The darkness had prevented her from noticing it, but the light that spilled out of her suite made it abundantly clear -- Ladybug was crying.
“Can I come in?” the heroine’s voice was unusually small.
Wordlessly Chole moved out of the way. Ladybug took short, sad steps past her, pausing listlessly when she reached the middle of the room.
Oh god, what was she supposed to do?! As far as Chloe knew, there was no established protocol for dealing with crying superheroes bursting in on one in one’s pajamas. And that didn’t even touch the fact that Ladybug’s eyes were so much more blue this close and Chloe was in her very short and very thin pajamas. She shook her head. It was apparent that Ladybug needed her, and if Queen Bee couldn’t help, then Chloe Bourgeois would have to do. She hesitantly walked over to Ladybug.
“Do you want to talk about it?” The words were uncharacteristically quiet and soft. Chloe rifled through her memories, desperately trying to remember how Adrien’s mother had consoled her after so many tears in her childhood. It hurt, to think back to then, but if anyone was worth it, Ladybug was. Ladybug believed in her when no one else did and she’d never admit just how good that made her feel inside.
Ladybug turned towards her, tears still leaking out of her large, bluebell eyes. Without warning, she shot forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Chloe, breaking into incoherent sobs. It felt like forever before the spotted heroine stopped shaking like a leaf, tears drying to sniffles. Chloe awkwardly kept rubbing circles onto her back the whole time, hugging Ladybug as best as she could even as her mind whirled at a hundred miles an hour. What in the ever-loving-fuck was happening? Who could have made Ladybug so upset? It was a good thing she didn’t have her miraculous or she’d venom whatever bastard did this to her… Then again, she could probably still claw someone’s eyes out outside of the suit as well… No, Ladybug needed a shoulder to cry on, not a homicidal sometimes-superhero on the warpath.
Chloe took a deep breath in and maneuvered them so that they were sitting down on one of the plush sofas in her suite. She moved to extricate herself from Ladybug and dammit if the way she tried to cling to Chloe with a small whimper didn’t give her feelings.
She awkwardly cleared her throat. “You need to stay hydrated. You’ve been -- I’m going to call for some refreshments. Did you want anything in particular?”
Ladybug wiped her eyes on the back of a spotted glove. “Cookies, if you have them,” she said quietly. “I’ve been out for hours, I need to recharge.”
Chloe nodded, not quite thinking of the magnitude of that statement and picked up the phone at the side of her bed. She didn’t even wait for whoever was on the other end to say hello. “Yes, I need a mug of warm milk and a plate of cookies as quickly as possible. Understood?” She hung up as soon as it was clear that someone had heard her and went back over to Ladybug. “It should be here in a few minutes.”
Ladybug nodded silently.
Chloe sighed and braced herself. Clearly, Ladybug needed someone to talk to and for some unknown reason, she’d come to her of all people, so she was going to have to do her best. This really wasn’t her strong suit. “Alright,” she said briskly, breaking the silence. “As many lovely qualities as I have, I have to admit that I’m wondering why you came here tonight. Clearly, you’re upset. Why not talk to that mangy alley cat about it? Or a friend from the other side of the mask? As much as it pains me to admit, I haven’t been… the best person in the past. It seems like there’s someone out there who could give you a hell of a lot better advice about whatever it is that’s bothering you.”
Chloe didn’t miss the way Ladybug flinched, first when she brought up Chat Noir and then civilian friends. Oh, something was definitely going on and somebody was sooooo going to pay for this.
Ladybug twisted her hands together. “I…. I can’t,” she said. “I… I don’t think I have any friends outside of the suit anymore.”
“What happened?” Chloe questioned, trying to make her voice as quiet and reassuring as possible. It felt like squeezing into a too-small shirt, but it must have worked because Ladybug continued.
“They betrayed me.” Her voice broke. “Rena Rouge, Carapace, I knew them both as civilians… I trusted them with the miraculous because they were my best friends. But they took the word of someone they barely know over me and they hate me.” She paused. “They were all I had. Before this year, I didn’t have any friends at all. They were my very first.” A watery smile broke over her face and vanished. “I tried so hard to be a good friend -- I didn’t want them to leave me alone again. I was just trying to protect them from being deceived and manipulated… Oh god, it hurts. It hurts so much.”
Fat tears rolled down Ladybug’s cheeks and Chloe’s heart about broke in her chest. If there was one thing that she understood so very well… She scooted closer to Ladybug and wrapped the heroine in as tight a hug as she could manage. She could feel as the shoulder of her robe was dampened by Ladybug’s tears.
-Needless to say, Chloe really comes through as a friend and confidant to Ladybug that night. Marinette doesn’t really plan to go back, but it felt so good to be listened to and seen for the first time in a long time that she just keeps dropping by Chloe’s balcony.
-Ladybug and Chloe get closer and Marinette is able to hold herself together better now that she has someone. Not that anybody really notices because she’s a bit of a social pariah, but she’s much nicer to Chloe at school.
-I can’t decide if this AU is gonna be romantic or platonic Chloenette, but maybe Chloe has been a (somewhat repressed) gay mess for Ladybug the whole time and shit her school nemesis is also kind of cute now that they’re not constantly fighting oh no. Alternatively, we get some A+ female friendships.
-Either way, Ladybug is a pretty much nightly visitor to Chloe’s house at this point. They paint each other's nails and watch TV and there is some altogether wholesome interaction. Chloe is proud that she’s managed to bring Ladybug’s smiles back and starts to gain confidence in what she’s able to do to make things better by herself, on her own power and without a miraculous.
-Things are kind of improving. Lila is still being awful, but it’s much easier for Marinette to deal with her now. Ladybug and Chat Noir’s partnership is still kind of strained with his flirting, but they’ve been managing. Ladybug has kind of just been ignoring the problem and Chat Noir because she doesn’t know how to handle it and she really does care about him and doesn’t enjoy breaking his heart. She just needs to find some way of communicating to him that she feels like he’s disrespecting her, but the akumas have been getting more intense and she can’t risk another repeat of Frozer if she confronts him, so she doesn’t really know what to do.
-Eventually, the Lucky Charm says that they need back up. The fox makes the most sense to take, but Marinette just can’t trust Alya anymore. There’s really only one person that comes to mind.
-“Chloe Bourgeois, this the miraculous of the fox. It grants the power of illusions. You will use it for the greater good and return it to me when the battle is finished.”
-And finally, we get to the point of this entire rambling mess as fox!Chloe, or Reine Ruse appears. I think that her suit would use brown as an accent rather than black like Rena Rouge’s so it could incorporate some gold piping as sort of a subtle shout out to her past as Queen Bee. Chloe is a sleek, sleek fox. I also totally have an image of her having like 9 real fox tails that spread out behind her like the skirt of a ball gown or something (she is both regal and dramatic as fuck). She can also move them and as she becomes more involved with the miraculous squad she likes to wrap them around Ladybug especially when she gets cold in the winter.
-Reine Ruse absolutely kills it as a hero her first time out. Chat’s like “wow, it’s like you’ve done this before!” Chloe, who has listened to how much grief and indecision that this cat is causing Ladybug is 100% not happy with Chat Noir and pretty much straight up ignores him. If she speaks, she’s probably passive-aggressively sassing him.
-Hawkmoth is sending out progressively more akumas and they’re stronger too. It gets to the point where the lucky charm calls for help during every fight and it’s getting really hard to escape to get the backup Miraculous. Marinette has a talk with Master Fu about Chloe and the fox, sticking up for Chloe and how much she’s grown and making a case for her to be a permanent member of the team. It takes a bit of convincing, but Master Fu eventually comes around.
-“Chloe, you can’t be Queen Bee anymore… But you’ve come such a long way since we met and I would be honored if you would fight by my side as Reine Ruse, permanently.”
-Chat is grateful for the help but has no idea what he’s apparently done to get on the new heroine’s shit list. The first time they patrol alone together, she gives him a thorough verbal lashing about how he’s been treating Ladybug and doesn’t leave until she’s sure he understands.
-Adrien begins to rethink his life choices. Plagg attempts to help as best he can.
-Maybe Chloe rescues Marinette as Reine Ruse or she decides to try to get closer to her in her superhero form because she thinks that she’s totally blown it in her civilian form. Marinette who knows what is going on is just so happy and proud of her best friend/maybe-future-girlfriend.
-Give me a Chloenette love square pls
-Obviously, Alya isn’t happy when there’s a new fox hero. She probably gets akumatized over it, let’s be honest. At least it’s a better reason than getting mad because some middle schooler says he could outrun a panther.
-Lila is probably able to manipulate this situation somehow. She might not even know she’s doing it. Alya asks why Ladybug didn’t pick Rena Rouge and Lila says that Ladybug was just being a bitch or something, idk.
-Chloe thinks it's weird that Alya is so up in arms about this. Maybe this is the start of her figuring Marinette out.
Gosh, this post got so freaking long. I might add more later if anyone is actually interested, lol. I was thinking that the miracusquad in this AU would eventually include bee!Kagami and turtle!Luka as I don’t think Alya or Nino would reach the point that Marinette could trust them with miraculouses again. She might forgive them, but trust is a fragile thing.
Thank you all for listening to my ranting. I hope that this was somewhat coherent. I’m sorry that it’s so long and so rambling, but I really haven’t been involved in fandom for a while. I’ll try my best and I hope to improve in the future!

His Lady Behind The Mask, Day 23 - Celebrity Power Couple

Synopsis: Adrien Agreste is just a normal boy with a normal life, until the Akuma invaded Paris and took not only the peace in his city but also the existence of his Lady he once knew and loved. AU.

Hydralysis was an eight-headed sea serpent Akuma that was spewing acid ink on everything. According to the reports, a street vendor was accused by a customer for using a squid instead of an octopus on his takoyaki.
"Can you differentiate the taste between a squid and an octopus?" Adrien wondered as he scaled the buildings with his staff.
"Beats me," Plagg answered nonchalantly "I'm not into seafood, kid."
Adrien was first to head out so he could buy Ladybug some time to reach the Target. For her to neutralize the Target, she must cut the 'magical strings' that bind the akumatized person to the Akuma. These magical strings were only visible to Miraculous wielders' eyes, and most of the times these strings were just floating in the air.
The cutting process is a different story.
"Hey, Squidward!" the blond in a feline suit yelled as he perched on one of the streetlight in Pont Royal, catching not only the Akuma's attention but also the reporters on the area "Cod I have salmon of your time?"
"Who are you?" asked Hydralysis.
"I am Chat Noir," Adrien declared proudly "I stand for love, and I also stand for justice! And in the name of the Miraculous, I will punish you!"
A purple butterfly-shaped mask appeared on one of the Akuma's serpent head "Another mediocre user has been sent out, and a jokester to the boot. Very well, if they are still adamant to release Ladybug then I have no choice but to kill you!"
A collective gasp was heard among the crowd when one of the Akuma's head spurted an ink towards the feline hero's direction, but it was deflected easily by a twirl of his baton.
"Fish that the best that you can give?" the black-clad feline hero smirked confidently much to the Akuma's chagrin "Shell I shoal you who's the mediocre and jokester among us?"
A butterfly mask appeared again but on a different head, and when it disappeared, the Akuma began to charge the superhero in full blast.
"Oh buoy, aren't you a salty monster?"
"That monster's name is Hydralysis!"
"Water-ver."
People began to cheer when Adrien dodged all ink squirts coming from Hydralysis' heads, which distracted the Akuma from detecting Ladybug's presence when she dived underwater and swam near its behind.
Still showy as ever, the spotted heroine bemused to herself when her partner somersaulted in the air, trying not to chuckle when his boots slipped on the awning and almost face-planted himself to the pavement.
"Twenty three minutes left," reminded Tikki "Have you seen the magical strings?"
"Not yet," the heroine replied, clasping her Lucky Charm in a form of a blade "This Akuma has eight heads, and Papillion's mask appeared at random. Sometimes it was on the second head, now it just appeared on the fifth. I need to find the akumatized object."
"Do you think the akumatized object was inside the Akuma's body like Glaciator?"
"I don't think so. Oh gosh, I hope that's not the case," she answered while scanning the Akuma's rear "God knows what would happen to the Target if I chop off Hydralysis' head and have Chat Noir cataclysm its wounds. He knows how to use Cataclysm, right?"
"Plagg told me that mastered it, including the memory wipe. Twenty-two minutes left."
Ladybug cursed under her breath as she loomed her eyes on the Akuma's scaled body. Akumatized objects usually stand out and distinguishable to the observant eye, and she should've been discovered it by now but the Akuma was quite sneaky this time. She was afraid that Adrien might not handle Hydralysis any longer given that this was his first assignment as a Miraculous user, and probably he needs some help right now -
"Twenty-one minutes."
The spotted heroine took a deep breath to calm herself down. She shouldn't let her worries about Adrien's situation distract her from her task. She knew that he was capable of handling his own battles, and he proved himself a dozen times not only to her but also to Master Fu that he was worthy to bear the Cat Miraculous.
"Twenty minutes."
"I'm trying!" she sneered, but it was more to herself "I still can't find that damn object, and I don't think its tail..."
Something glittered on the end of Hydralysis' body, and when she drew herself closer she found a thin strand of magical string.
"I found the Target," she muttered excitedly then sliced the Akuma's tail with her Lucky Charm without any second thoughts, snapping the magical strings that bind the akumatized person from Papillion's control.
Adrien immediately noticed how Hydralysis shrieked in pains when Ladybug neutralized the Target, which made him anxious more knowing that the Akuma became a soulless moppet with free reins. He could use his Cataclysm to destroy it, but he wasn't sure if Ladybug was okay, or if she was still under the water with the Target or that -
"Chat Noir!" his spotted partner yelled as she hoisted the unconscious akumatized vendor from the Seine "All green!"
"As you wish, my Lady!" he answered then chanted "Cataclysm!"
Within a few seconds, Hydralysis disintegrated into dust as Adrien touched its body with his black, bubbling hand. A 'Miraculous Cleanse' was heard afterward, followed by red swirls of light that restored all damaged properties to its original state.
The blond superhero immediately leaped towards Ladybug who just finished endorsing the akumatized victim to the medical team "Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah," she answered then cocked her brow when she noticed his wet appearance, "I thought cats hate water?"
"Water you talking about, Buginette?" he smirked when she rolled her eyes indignantly "Purr-haps I'm just a cat with many talents."
"You don't have any plans of dropping that stupid nickname and lame puns, huh?"
Adrien clutched his chest and feigned a hurtful look "Meow-ch, my Lady! It was a claw-some nickname, as well as my puns. They're pun-tastic!"
He snickered when she slapped her forehead then groaned inwardly "I can't believe I'm going to deal with this. I should speak with my Kwami to change my partner!"
"No, you can't!" he gasped theatrically "Purr-lease don't abandon me, Buginette!"
She was about to retort back when she noticed the hoard of reporters that were coming in their way "I guess we need to scram before they get here."
He nodded in a cringe "I believe so, my Lady."
"I want you to know that you did a great job for your first mission, mon Minou," she said then raised her fist towards him.
"It's a pleasure working with you," he flashed a lopsided grin while raising his fist to meet hers. "For our partnership?"
"For our partnerahip."
"Bien joue!"
Later that night, the two were baffled when a 'Ladynoir' was trending worldwide due to a post from the Ladyblog, and more when Master Fu handed them a newspaper the next morning with their superhero selves on the front page and the headline was 'Celebrity Power Couple'

Submitted Prompt: Glaciator Greed 2.0
(Editor’s note: I have not seen the episode in question, but IDC anymore lol so they’re all getting posted anyways)

We’ve all seen how Cat Noir acted in Glaciator 2.0. He thought that kissing Ladybug would bring back their memories, which is harassment in that not only is he kissing her for his own pleasure, but also to learn who she is, and then offered to take her out after their nomination. Yep. Truly romantic. Not. And then when she says she isn’t interested, he guilt trips her.
So this is an AU diverging from the rooftop confrontation. You can actually start at the fight scene. There’s numerous ways to approach this, but really, here’s the gist:

The fight was going great. Seeing the billboards of them kissing was definitely the highlight of Chat Noir’s fighting perspective. Fighting Glaciator was so boring, as they’d fought him before and he was just as predictable as before. But at least Glaciator agreed with him on one thing:
He and Ladybug were meant to be.
And it was true! She was creation, he was destruction. They were Couple of the Year for a reason after all. She was just playing hard to get, that was all. But once they had their memories back…everything would be perfect.
“Wait,” he said, looking at Ladybug, a cheeky grin plastered on his face. He knew what he was doing. “If we kiss, maybe we’ll get our memories back?”
Then she threw him in the trashcan. That was overkill. But it prevented him from having to worry further about the akuma. Now he could think of the correct words to guilt trip her into feeling sorry for him, for giving him another chance.
Sometime later, when he felt the trashcan moving, the loops in the air and the sudden crash landing…it was time to enact his plan. His plan to manipulate and guilt trip her into thinking he might change, just so he can continue to abuse his power from here. Maybe even offer to take her somewhere, just as a treat.
He was unaware of how angry Ladybug was with him. But after all, it was his priorities that mattered more to him.

Here is the divergence: Does he get his ring taken away? Is he called out for his continual harassment? Are there any witnesses around? Is he successful and if he is, how long is he successful for?
I’m going to be honest, I’m not sure how many people have actually submitted prompts similar to this one for Glaciator 2, but that scene infuriated me and inspired me to make this prompt. Have fun with writing!
