Writers Guild Presents - Before Earth: Epilogue (New Names)

Before Earth: Epilogue (New Names)
Rated T CW/TW: Brief battle violence When I wanted to play with the idea of Crowley's Fall, I didn't realize Michael (& her partner) and Beelzebub would play such large roles - but they had stories to tell too! FYI, this fic specifically avoids using any Angel-deadnames. Summary: The Battle of Heaven has been fought, the rebels have all Fallen. Aziraphale, Crowley, and Michael pick up with pieces with new names & new roles. (sequel to this fic starts next week - jumping to post-S2, rated E) Excerpt:
“Look Crawly, I don’t trust you. I don’t think you are really on Hell’s side, no matter how good of a show you put on. But, He thinks the Hell of you, all your little tricks and clever ideas. And,” she continued, letting a tiny glimmer of a smile appear, ”I know you’ll do better up there than down here.” She turned stern again. “There are plenty of Demons who’ve killed for this chance. And it’s yours. So don’t f*** it up.”
“Thanks, Beelzeb -"
“Don’t thank me. Demons aren’t nice – remember that.”
“So what do I do?” he asked, still leaning against the wall.
She shrugged, “There are a couple trees up there, humans aren’t supposed to eat from them.”
“Then why are they in the Garden?” he couldn’t help but ask.
Beelzebub rolled her eyes and sighed, “Look, this wasn’t our plan, now was it? All you have to do is get up there and make some trouble.”

Guess who's been thinking of the Roman Empire and alternative universes at the same time… I plan to reveal a new character each day or release the week's characters on it's Saturday. But life could happen where I finish them by the end of the year. Each character will be a Greek/Roman God or Goddess, and some brand new characters that will feature in a story I call Legendary Fugitives. Wish me luck everyone!

What is Chat GPT and the ways in which it can be used.
Tumblr media
Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay
Chat GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) is a state-of-the-art language model developed by OpenAI. It's designed to perform a wide range of natural language processing (NLP) tasks, such as text generation, question-answering, and conversation. The model has been trained on a large corpus of diverse text, allowing it to understand and generate text in a human-like manner.
One of the key features of Chat GPT is its ability to generate coherent and grammatically correct text based on a prompt. This makes it ideal for applications such as creative writing, content creation, and language translation. The model can generate a wide range of text styles, from formal writing to more informal, conversational text. This makes it a valuable tool for businesses and organizations looking to generate high-quality content quickly and efficiently.
Another important aspect of Chat GPT is its ability to answer questions. The model has been trained on a diverse range of information, including news articles, encyclopedias, and Wikipedia. This means that it can provide answers to a wide range of questions, from factual questions about history, science, and geography, to more complex questions about politics and current events. This makes it an ideal tool for knowledge management and customer service, as it can help organizations answer questions quickly and accurately.
One of the most exciting applications of Chat GPT is its use in conversational AI. The model is designed to hold conversations in a human-like manner, and its ability to understand and respond to a wide range of conversational styles makes it a valuable tool for building chatbots. Chatbots are computer programs that can interact with users in natural language, and they are used for a wide range of applications, from customer service and support to marketing and sales. Chatbots powered by Chat GPT can provide users with a more personalized and human-like experience, which can lead to improved customer satisfaction and increased engagement.
Chat GPT can also be used in the field of sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis is the process of determining the sentiment expressed in a piece of text, such as a tweet, blog post, or customer review. The model can be trained to identify the sentiment expressed in a given piece of text, which can be useful for businesses and organizations looking to understand the sentiment of their customers or audience. For example, a business could use sentiment analysis to monitor the sentiment of customer reviews and social media posts, which can help it to identify areas for improvement and measure customer satisfaction.

Another area in which Chat GPT can be used is in the field of text summarization. Text summarization is the process of reducing the length of a text while preserving its most important information. The model can be trained to generate summaries of longer texts, such as news articles, academic papers, and legal documents. This can be useful for organizations that need to quickly and accurately digest large amounts of information.
Finally, Chat GPT can also be used for text classification. Text classification is the process of categorizing a piece of text into one or more predefined categories, such as spam, sentiment, and topic. The model can be trained to classify text into specific categories, which can be useful for a wide range of applications, from spam filtering and sentiment analysis to topic classification and sentiment analysis.
In conclusion, Chat GPT is a versatile and powerful language model that can be used in a wide range of natural language processing tasks, including text generation, question-answering, conversation, sentiment analysis, text summarization, and text classification. The model's ability to understand and generate human-like text, as well as its versatility, makes it a valuable tool for businesses and organizations looking to improve their NLP applications.
Learn how to use Chat GPT through a new series of videos for the price of a cup of coffee. Become an expert in this new incredible technology.

Humans Evolution
Question: Can humans evolve beyond our bodies?
ChatGPT
The concept of humans evolving beyond our current biological bodies is a topic often explored in science fiction and speculative discussions. However, it is important to note that the future evolution of humans is uncertain, and any speculation about such developments remains speculative at this point.
In the context of future possibilities, some theories and concepts have been proposed, such as:
Transhumanism: Transhumanism is an intellectual movement that advocates for the enhancement of human capabilities through technological means. It explores the idea of integrating advanced technologies with human biology to enhance physical and cognitive abilities.
Posthumanism: Posthumanism extends beyond the boundaries of human biology, contemplating scenarios where humans merge or integrate with advanced technologies to create new forms of existence.
Mind Uploading: The concept of mind uploading suggests transferring a human consciousness or mind into a digital or artificial substrate. This hypothetical process would involve replicating the human mind's functions and experiences in a non-biological form.
Tumblr media
It is essential to recognize that these ideas exist within the realm of speculation and theoretical exploration. The feasibility, ethics, and potential implications of such advancements are subjects of ongoing debate among scientists, philosophers, and ethicists.
Moreover, the process of biological evolution operates on a timescale spanning generations, where changes occur gradually over vast periods. Speculating on potential future advancements that could lead to significant changes in human form or existence is highly speculative and speculative.
Ultimately, the trajectory of human evolution and the possibilities of transcending our current biological limitations are uncertain and heavily depend on scientific advancements, ethical considerations, societal factors, and technological developments that may unfold in the future.

Two Ways To Access A Remote PulseAudio Session Over SSH
Tumblr media
Despite what you may read elsewhere, there are two ways to control the volume on a remote machine running PulseAudio when you can only access it via SSH. I am not talking about using X forwarding here (which does NOT work), and I do not mean running a whole remote desktop session via VNC or X2Go just to mess with the volume. Nor do you need to run PulseAudio as a system service, or edit PulseAudio's configuration files at all. This is done using command line tools only. Specifically, tmux, pulsemixer, and volumerb. This works on a fresh install of Debian bookworm, where I have not altered any PulseAudio configuration files at all. The system in question has audio two devices - a "regular" audio output and a HDMI output. The Problem Because of some very good complicated security reason , unless you are running a system-wide configuration of PulseAudio (which is not a great idea ), you typically cannot connect to an already running PulseAudio daemon when you SSH into a system. When would this come up? In my particular case so that I can adjust the volume on my media center PC from my laptop with a few simple scripts. It's definitely one of those things not everyone will need, but when you do need it, you need it. The Solution For this, I've done the following (the PulseAudio setup is the default that Debian configured, and works perfectly fine locally): - sudo apt install tmux pulsemixer ruby - wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/uriel1998/volumerb/master/volume.rb - sudo mv ./volume.rb /usr/local/bin/volume - sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/volume - Create a tmux session, have at least one open shell window in that session, and detach from it on the machine whose volume you want to control. Not "connected via SSH", but actually on that machine. The tmux portions are actually extra, but they give you a lot more flexibility. And if you're regularly using SSH and don't know about tmux, you'll be doing yourself a lot of favors by knowing even a little about it. pulsemixer is a fantastic TUI program for handling PulseAudio, and I thoroughly recommend it.
Tumblr media
But, as you can see in the first video below, if I just SSH in, pulsemixer returns Failed to connect to pulseaudio. That's also what happens if you try X-forwarding, by the way. However, you can see that - for reasons I do not understand - the volumerb script works out of the box. That script is comparatively klunky compared to pulsemixer, but for some reason it works. The only change from that script's normal behavior is that it only seems to work on whichever sink is set as the "default" sink, not all of the sinks. The interesting part comes next in this second video. You have a tmux session still running on the machine that you just SSH'd into. You can attach to that existing session (tmux attach), and in any windows that were created on the local machine, you can use pulsemixer normally. It attaches to the running PulseAudio session with no difficulty. But again, this workaround only works with windows (and sessions) that were originally created locally. In the video you can see that I create - connected over SSH - a new window. In that new window, I once again cannot connect to the PulseAudio session. But as before, volume.rb still works. So there you go - two ways to control PulseAudio on a remote machine via SSH without running PulseAudio as a system service. I do not understand the specifics of it, nor do I understand it well enough to explain it, but just enough to take seriously the warnings that it is a Very Good Idea to not work around the security here.
La risposta arriva attraverso i grafici di Our World in Data.
