Thinking about how with all of the rain, and the weather of spring, when fable ends and the sun starts shining through the clouds, the flowers are going to bloom brightly and everything is going to flourish, how when it's finally over, an end to a war we can't even count the start of, the ground will be muddy and drowned, but as they start to grieve, having the ability and safety, finally get the time to process everything since fable got out, their going to start the journey of healing, slowly, and there will be time marked with nothing but drenched earth and dreary skies, but then the world will start flourishing around them, despite everything, the world will bloom.

When you find something you want (even if it’s just a result of casual thinking or boredom or a harmless ‘what if’), hold onto it. When you’re doing bad it’s easy to think it’s never going to happen and let others discourage you, but in those bleak moments it’s even more important to know that feeling of wanting and looking forward to something. It doesn’t matter if it’s merely a meal or a trip, seeing the sunrise tomorrow, attending a concert or hugging a friend, let yourself want things. They’ll pull you through when you least expect it.

one time my mom told me that our young neighbors loved our persimmons so much that they decided to plant some trees of their own. so they planted four persimmon trees ☠️

#OH YOU SWEET SUMMER CHILDREN LMAO #we have two trees planted in 80s. they put out conservatively at least 300 persimmons each. maybe more #FOUR PERSIMMON TREES #fuck around and find out of ALL time #<- says the guy who is inheriting a house with 14 different fruit trees on the property #i feel real fear when i think about my future sometimes #not bc i am afraid of growing old. but bc i am afraid of the amount of gardening i will be doing #but like what am i gonna do - cut down the persimmon trees? those trees are my family. all the fruit trees are my family #anyway if any of you are like should i plant 1-4 persimmon trees? I know we’re still in 2023, but here’s my New Year’s resolution anyways

Even though I live in the heart of the city, I’ve decided that I’m going to grow my own fruits and vegetables using a couple of smart gardens (like the one shown below)

That and I recently discovered blue Java bananas, which are blue bananas that taste like vanilla ice cream and yes those are actually real. Another thing I found interesting is the fact that while the bananas themselves are pretty hard to come by (at least here in the UK), it’s relatively easy to buy the seeds for the trees they grow from, so one of my plans for the new year is to plant and grow one of these trees.

In general I’m going to invest more time in taking care of plants and hopefully I’ll be able to provide a loving home for a cat too

Definitely getting in touch with my solarpunk side, as much as I’m able 👍

We've been oppressed by more or less constant 40-50mph winds for almost a week now & I'm starting to feel like my life is a lost chapter from Giants in the Earth.

#there's something about nonstop wind that makes me feel insane #I'm also super tired of having to wear earplugs at night #here I am reaping the fruit of choosing to live on an exposed hillside I guess #but the exposure situation is improving as our hedges & trees grow in #hurry up plants I need you to save my sanity #in the meantime I will try to enjoy the views & be grateful for my usually silent isolation #and this summer we'll finish our project of tearing down interior walls & rebuilding with insulation #so that will also make things quieter #just trying to talk myself down off the ledge here #don't mind me #I love you Scotland but this wind is really a bit much

#*guy dressed in a halfhearted alt fit with platforms and an mcr hoodie voice* the scientific name of my favorite tree is fagus grandifolia #american beech nut. extremely easy to identify in general but especially in late fall/winter because they don't drop their leaves until #the new ones grow in. if you see a tree with pale bark and dead tan leaves that's my fagus grandifolia best tree #(good climbing tree) (fun fuzzy fruits) (weird leaf drop behaviors) (have i said good climbing tree) (pretty) (can live up to 400 years)#fay-gus. not fag-us. unfortunately.
