Am I the only person on Tumblr who is reading the Finlay Donovan books? Because I really want to talk to someone about how hard I ship Finlay and Vero and I have no one in my life to talk to about it.

So I started listening to Finlay Donovan Is Killing It on audiobook.
And honestly I find Finlay kinda annoying.
To be fair I’ve only gotten to Ch 5, but she needs to vent about how douche her ex and the woman that he replaced her with is every five seconds.
Like we get it, he’s an asshole can we move forward with something else?

I just finished reading "Finlay Donovan is Killing It," and I LOVED it (even though it had me STRESSED the whole time I was reading it 😅). I would recommend it to anyone.

This book was delightful—definitely lived up to its premise, Finlay and Vero have my whole heart, and it had a romance i was rooting for on the side. Plus, i’m super 👀👀👀 at that ending and looking forward to the next book (which i’ve already been told by a library patron is better than the first one!)

Finlay Donovan is Killing it by Elle Cosimano - Book Review!
Today on my blog I have a review for #FinlayDonovanisKillingIt by Elle Cosimano. I can't believe I've slept on this series for so long, it's hilarious, heartbreaking and filled with hi jinks... I'll be picking up book two asap! #BookReview
Finlay Donovan is killing it…except, she’s really not. A stressed-out single mom of two and struggling novelist, Finlay’s life is in chaos: The new book she promised her literary agent isn’t written; her ex-husband fired the nanny without telling her; and this morning she had to send her four-year-old to school with hair duct-taped to her head after an incident with scissors. When Finlay is…

Finlay Donovan is Killing It managed to read a lot like it was trying to subtly pack in some copaganda without the main character being a cop. (Which isn't surprising, in hindsight, since Elle Cosimano comes from a cop-ish family, but I didn't know that before reading.)
Looking past that, though, I think I liked it? I liked Finlay, mostly, but I loved Vero. I had to pause it or speed the audiobook way up a few times, because I was cringing, but it was overall pretty fun.
This definitely isn't a book for people who want dark, realistic, and very serious mysteries and thrillers, though. It was ridiculous and funny, the tone remained mostly light, and it wasn't particularly gruesome.
I think I'm giving it 4/5 stars, and I'm going to at least try reading the sequel.
