Finally got around to illustrating some of my book characters!!
This is (most of) the family of my main protagonist Fio, a Red Clover Dragon! We've got Fio's parents: His Dad Garth and his mother Fauna, who is the leader of the family clan.
Freya and Fallon do not have their feathers yet in the first two novels, but this will be their "adult" plumage in the third novel, which I'm currently working on.
One day I want to make full-body reference sheets too, but those will take a while to get done 🤔 Especially since I'm still missing Fio's aunt Agave, two of his distant cousins along with their mother and Garth's best friend Bakula. AND Asha. Goddamn. So many pink dragons to design...

Dante e Virgilio arrivano in cima al Purgatorio; la sua guida lì lo saluta e con lui LA RAGIONE ("non aspettar mio dir più né mio cenno"). Questa difatti ha compiuto la sua missione, ingegno e arte l'han tratto sin lì, essenziali per districarsi nell'inferno e nei limiti del tempo e del peccato.
Ora che ne é fuori dall'erte vie e dall'arte, per salire serve solo LA LIBERTA': "Lo tuo piacere omai prendi per duce", individuale, sanamente personale, anche edonista. Virgilio incorona Dante re e pontefice di se stesso; ora che la libertà é ritrovata, qualsiasi sua scelta libera sarà giusta per definizione.
La ragione la scienza (ingegno) e la tecnologia (l'arte) sono la guida per la conquista della libertà; ma senza libertà quelle ti possono solo mollare in cima a uno scalone nel mezzo del nulla cosmico. A piangere e gridare, com'è profondo il mare. Dedicato a quelli che la Fede nella Scenza.

🌟 Novedades
Estamos probando un diseño nuevo para la vista aumentada de las imágenes en la aplicación para iOS. Si quieres contarnos qué te parece, puedes escribirnos a través del formulario de asistencia (elige la categoría «Opiniones y comentarios»).
En la versión web, los resultados de búsqueda ahora se pueden filtrar para ver solo las publicaciones que incluyan encuestas usando la opción para elegir el tipo de contenido en el menú superior.
También en esta versión, hemos cambiado el texto de los apartados y botones para acceder a la configuración del blog de «Modificar apariencia» a «Configuración del blog» (tiene sentido, ¿no?).
Además, si usas algunas etiquetas muy concretas en una publicación, el mensaje de confirmación que se muestra al enviarla incluirá varios efectos gráficos especiales.
El botón para crear una publicación ahora está fijo al final del menú de navegación de la versión web para móviles.
🛠️ Mejoras y solución de problemas
Durante unas horas del pasado lunes, algunas personas no lograron recibir los correos para restablecer su contraseña al usar esta función. Si te has encontrado con el mismo error, sigue estos pasos.
El martes, arreglamos un fallo que impedía que el menú inferior de las publicaciones se mostrara cuando incluían un aviso de contenido.
Hemos solventado una incidencia con los blogs en grupo que evitaba que sus integrantes pudieran interactuar con su propio contenido en el editor de publicaciones en lote.
Algunas publicaciones insertadas mostraban la dirección embed.tumblr.com en lugar de la dirección de la vista emergente de cada blog en las cadenas de reblogueos, pero ya está resuelto.
Hemos solucionado un problema en la versión web que permitía que las preguntas anónimas incluyeran textos con hiperenlaces.
En la versión 28.5 de la aplicación para iOS, las imágenes de una misma fila no estaban alineadas correctamente en los sets de fotos cuando tenían anchos distintos. ¡Arreglado!
También en esta versión, hemos resuelto un error que causaba que, en algunas ocasiones, los textos aparecieran cortados al final de las publicaciones largas.
Hemos solventado un fallo en la pestaña «Tus etiquetas» del Escritorio de la versión web que hacía que las etiquetas que sigues no aparecieran destacadas si la combinación de mayúsculas y minúsculas no coincidía con la de las publicaciones (por ejemplo, si sigues la etiqueta #Art pero en la publicación se incluía como #art, en minúsculas); el sistema ya no hace esta distinción y ahora se muestran correctamente.
Algunos elementos de la página de actividad no tenían el mismo espacio de relleno que otros en la versión web, pero ya está resuelto.
También en esta versión, hemos solucionado un problema que hacía que se mostrara el mensaje incorrecto al cancelar una campaña de promoción.

Alan Watts
Fue un filosofo británico, nacido en el condado de Kent en el Reino Unido en enero de 1915.
Escribió mas de 25 libros y numerosos artículos sobre temas como la identidad personal, la naturaleza de la realidad y la elevación de la conciencia.
Becado por la Universidad de Harvard obtuvo una maestría en Teología y un doctorado Honoris causa por la Universidad de Vermont.
Alan fue hijo único y desde muy joven Alan estaba fascinado por el arte, la literatura y la filosofía asiáticos, influenciada por su madre, una mujer muy religiosa, inició a pronta edad su interés por la naturaleza última de las cosas así como por los libros de fábulas y cuentos románticos del lejano Oriente.
En su adolescencia decide inclinarse por la religión budista y su padre lo llevaría al Buddhist Lodge de Londres en donde se convirtió en editor de la revista The Middle Way .
En 1932 produjo su primer boleto basado en los escritos Zen de DT Suzuki y en 1938 Alan se muda a Estados Unidos para estudiar Zen en Nueva York.
A principios de 1951, Alan se mudó a San Francisco, donde, por invitación del Dr. Frederic Spiegelberg, comenzó a enseñar budismo en la Academia Estadounidense de Estudios Asiáticos.
Alan atrajo a una gran multitud, sus clases en la Academia pronto florecieron en conferencias nocturnas abiertas al público y se extendieron a los cafés locales frecuentados por poetas y escritores Beat.
Algunos de sus libros mas famosos son; “El camino del Zen” (1957), “Psicoterapia del este y del oeste” (1961), “El sentido de la felicidad” (1940) y Cosmología gozosa (1962) entre otros.
Se le considera uno de los principales introductores de la filosofía oriental en Estados Unidos.
Muere en California U.S.A. en noviembre de 1973 a la edad de 58 años debido a un fallo cardiaco.

La decisión de la Cámara fue adoptada con los votos de los magistrados José Alejandro Sudera y Andrea García Vior, que integran la sala de feria de la Cámara del Trabajo junto con la jueza Dora González, que postuló remitir la causa a la Cámara Contencioso Administrativo Federal para que defina qué fuero debe tramitar el expediente.
"No se evidenciaría objetivamente la ´necesidad´ de adoptar tan numerosas medidas y que, aunque ello pudiera -hipotéticamente- intentar justificarse en la referencias genéricas a 'un hecho demostrado', lo cierto y jurídicamente relevante es que no se avizorarían las que se alegan constituyan razones de 'urgencia' para eludir la debida intervención del Poder Legislativo en lo que hace a la legislación de fondo", sostuvieron los jueces que conformaron la mayoría, según surge del fallo al que accedió Télam.
"Varias de las normas que el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional pretende modificar sin darle intervención a los legisladores tienen naturaleza represiva o sancionatoria al punto que se las ha incluido como integrativas del derecho penal laboral, calificadas como 'leyes antievasión'", agregaron los magistrados.
Los jueces destacaron, además, que "no se explica cómo las reformas planteadas, de aplicarse en forma inmediata y por fuera del trámite normal de sanción de las leyes, podrían remediar la situación referida a la generación de empleo formal, máxime cuando el propio decreto reconoce que se encuentra estancada hace 12 años, lo que impide -en principio- considerar la irrupción de alguna circunstancia súbita, imprevisible o de extrema 'excepcionalidad'".
"En lo que hace al trámite legislativo que el decreto pretende obviar, cabe mencionar que el Presidente de la Nación se encuentra facultado a convocar al Congreso a sesiones extraordinarias (art. 99 inc. 9 de la Constitución Nacional) y que tanto el Reglamento de la Cámara de Diputados como el de la Cámara de Senadores poseen herramientas que permitirían darle mayor celeridad al tratamiento de cada proyecto en caso de que sus autoridades o integrantes de los cuerpos lo requieran (tramitación en comisiones de manera conjunta y mociones de preferencia o de tratamiento "sobre tablas")", recordaron.
Además, señalaron que "resulta, al respecto, insoslayable que mediante el Decreto 76/23 (BO 26/12/23) se ejerció esa facultad y se convocó al Congreso de la Nación a sesiones extraordinarias desde el 26/12/23 y hasta el 31/1/24, a fin de tratar -entre muchísimos otros temas- la ratificación del DNyU 70/23".
Los magistrados también resaltaron que es una "inveterada doctrina del máximo tribunal que las consideraciones genéricas expuestas en los considerandos de los Decretos de Necesidad y Urgencia resultan inhábiles para justificar el dictado de medidas legislativas por parte del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional".
Algunas de las modificaciones en materia laboral establecidas en el decreto de necesidad y urgencia (DNU) que firmó el presidente Milei, que ahora quedaron provisoriamente suspendidas, son la ampliación del periodo de prueba hasta los 8 meses, la incorporación de los bloqueos o tomas de establecimientos como causa de despido y cambios en el sistema de indemnizaciones.
En materia de convenciones colectivas de trabajo, el DNU indica que esa materia "solamente mantendrá subsistentes las normas referidas a las condiciones de trabajo establecidas en virtud de ellas y hasta tanto entre en vigencia una nueva convención colectiva o exista un acuerdo de partes que la prorrogue".
"El resto de las cláusulas (obligacionales) podrán mantener su vigencia, solo por acuerdo de partes o por la específica prórroga dispuesta por el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional", señala el DNU.

¿ Puedo importunarte un momento en español? Siento que si lo digo en inglés mis palabras no serían tan precisas o no logro mantener la esencia/sentimiento del mensaje. Lo siento... >_<
He tenido la fortuna de conocer a Hali, y fue una experiencia realmente bonita. Sus historias me han conmovido he inspirado, ella llegó en un momento en el que mis días eran aburridos y tediosos, no tenía mucha expectativas o emoción en cuanto a qué esperar al día siguiente, no importaba lo que fuese. Cuando empecé a leer sobre esa adorable lalafell me dí cuenta que por fin había algo que esperaba con ansias. Tanto desde la perspectiva de Hali o como de su persona en la vida real, el ver que también ha tenido que lidiar con sus propias dudas, y aún así tener la pasión, el valor y la fortaleza de continuar haciendo lo que le gusta... me ayudó a querer avanzar también, y aunque hay períodos de tiempo en las que siento que fallo considerablemente, esa inspiración que me ha dado sigue ahí.
No puedo agradecer lo suficiente el hecho de que existas y que compartas al mundo aquello que amas. Espero algún día poder verla algún día, aunque sea sólo para saludar 🤭

night beats by hex. @slothshark has done a much better writeup of the aural soundscape than me (partially deaf) ever could. it sounds like its cover art. it knocked my fuckin socks off. this thing is SO textured, it's like taking a nylon scrubber to the inside of my skull (in a very good way). the way the reverb and the slight feedback blend is just. mwah. also features a close cousin of the morricone WAH WAH WAH wail!

raymond chandler's the big sleep. once again i trust that we are all adults who know that many genre works, including this one, are very much products of their time. however this one is exceptionally racist and homophobic for its time. chandler can't quite make up his mind how he feels about Jews.
it reads very much like a first novel, the plot and pacing unfold like a colt getting up. i like the solution of the book much more, but even though the movie's plot is a little less coherent it has more Vibes. another first novel problem is that it's a little embarrassed of itself-- this line dampens every cool line aferwards.
"Neat, huh?" Brody said. "Just kind of stand up a minute. Come forward just about two yards. You might grab a little air while you're doing that." His voice was the elaborately casual voice of the tough guy in pictures. Pictures have made them all like that.
which immediately dampens the following lines and every cool line thereafter in the book
"Tsk, tsk," I said, not moving at all. "Such a lot of guns around town and so few brains. You're the second guy I've met within hours who seems to think a gat in the hand means a world by the tail. Put it down and don't be silly, Joe."
a baffling choice the movie makes, which makes it far less coherent, is changing vivian's husband from the missing sean ryan to rutledge, Some Guy she's divorced who is never seen on screen or mentioned again. i'm not sure why this adaptational choice was made but probably a censor issue? maybe howard hawks thought marlowe would look bad if he went after a woman who was looking for her missing husband? in the movie marlowe already makes a pass at nearly every woman he meets except carmen, who is barely grown and frankly doesn't hold a fucking candle to her sister vivian.
how'd i find this: the big sleep was the first movie i watched this year and i have not been able to stop thinking about it for two months. i think i slightly prefer dashiell hammet's prose to chandler's, but chandler wrote some of my favorite short stories.

when i watch movies made by directors i already know i like, i have a good time! who would have thought!
another fucking scintillating Wilder movie to showcase some of the greatest character work ive ever seen. despite (maybe because of) the numerous twists, it’s one of the fairest mysteries ive ever seen. i don't think knowing the twist spoils the film, bc it's really know what happens but HOW it happens, but i find myself reluctant to discuss the ending at all.
how'd i find this: had kanopy credits to use up, thought this would be a good movie to knit to. partially right bc i got a fuck of a lot of rows done bc i was knitting faster and faster as it careened along. there was a cramp in my jaw from clenching my teeth so hard.

still fuckin around and finding out in fallo/ut 4, still in beautiful postapoc maine.
the lighthouse at brooke's head fixed itself and now at the proper distance from the ground. did not go inside bc i was overencumbered by like five hundred pounds and wanted to go finish my house on longfellow's little islet.
hi valentine. the proportions are. not ideal and i probably should have built it facing the inner harbor for maximum hurricane resistance. it is not the most efficient house i have ever built, bc it only has three bedrooms. however! i imagine it is the main hub for supplies coming in and out of my far harbor settlements/a meeting place for the islanders. hence the enormous table and extra bar stools behind the counter. this first one is looking back toward the front door.
i guess ppl could crash on the trio of couches if they needed to. when you walk into the ground floor, you pass a narrow but deep kitchen, and a little pantry and separate full bath that split off the main living/dining bookcase area like so.
the upstairs has one Very large bedroom for a couple, two smaller bedrooms with armor and gun workbenches, and another full bath. plus a little seating area jammed into the spot behind the stairs and a continuation up the stairs of the "weapons i don't want to sell but don't want to carry around" wall. this house is too bright, doesn't have enough stuff on the walls/enough chairs everywhere to be a real new england house, plus the stairs are very much up to code. but i do like it.
my fucking KINGDOM for washers and dryers as buildable objects in the base game. also my fucking KINGDOM for a bay window as a buildable object in the base game.

in other making news, i would rec these white bean/kale/rice bowls. surprisingly easy to make bc all you have to do is make rice and wilt some kale and then assemble a bunch of stuff. i did not add walnuts bc i do not like them, i did not add feta bc the grocery budget is a little tight this month, and i did not make the viniagrette from scratch bc i had a perfectly good one in the fridge. i did not think this was going to be filling and resigned myself to huge portions, but this is surprisingly filling i guess bc beans and rice are a complete protein? my primary care doc will love this for me bc 1) vegetarian and 2) v heart healthy. i would definitely up the rice to two or even two and a half cups, bc i assembled four bowls at once for lunch/dunner and they were a little scant on the rice. luckily i had a fuckoff huge bunch of kale to make up for it.
will be making it again bc it requires shockingly little prep and (once you've bought the giant jar of sun dried tomatoes) pretty cheap.
three! and a fifth! blanket! repeats!!!

Nos tomamos la mano en la desolación y caminamos juntos, son los famosos juedi verts en las inmediaciones del parque de Saint John, sos vos multiplicando lo que existe, no quiero verte triste, verdes riéndome con vos creando matices, no quiero que triste me veas, pero te muestro como vos me mostraste, y en compañía afrontar la vena de que el mundo es un desastre pero nuestro amor no, es todo un arte logrado, dejaste todos mis amores pasados degradados tu luz los encandiló, y me encandila, la mar que me mira mis ojos, yo que quedo todo derretido, en vos confío, me encantaría ser tu abrigo si tenés frío, agarrarte de la mano y sacarte de tu lío, por favor vamonos al río, sigamos fluyendo, que no me canso de tu alimento, me das aliento, por vos veo todo de colores y no en blanco y negro.
No sé como agradecerlo, por eso intento ser impecable con vos, puedo errar por humano pero no perdonarlo, dentro mío si te fallo voy directo a prisión, pero no se siente como una presión es un alivio tenerte a vos, tenernos, tan juntos un lujo, amando a mar mareado en la marea, sin dolor sin pena, sos mi ancla hacia la buena.
