Russian troops have been stationed in Transnistria since the early 1990s as "peacekeepers" - despite Moldova's objections.

The frozen conflict has taken on a new poignancy with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine would even be ready to occupy the country.

When the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, Ukrainian soldiers blew up the bridge to neighboring Moldova. Not because of the Moldovan government, but because of the breakaway region of Transnistria. Russia has about 1,500 troops stationed there.

Officially, Transnistria's pro-Russian government has never taken sides with either of the warring parties. The danger seems too great that Ukraine would attack the strip of land and have no major problems with its conquest.

i was sitting on a bench in the supermarket, recording the final bit of the work

not long after, a mother came and left her daughter sitting next to me; this doesnt happen very often in my country, where parents would let their children near strangers alone without guardian

the little girl began to play with her doll and humming songs; then i, as a desperate english learner, started to think if i should talk to her

i waited for so long, observing (i know it sounds creepy..) and finally caught a moment (and took my courage) to open up a conversation with her

the first sentence was weird, as i asked her why the bunny (her toy) hit the yellow smiley face (another toy of hers); i didnt construct the sentence quite well though, and failed to understand her response as well

BUT YES! SHE RESPOND!

you've no idea how grateful i was🐰

i then kept engaging with her, asking her simple questions like the name of her toy, her favourite animal, colour and other things

she was very well-spoken, it sometimes took her a while for an answer but she wasnt afraid of sharing; like i asked if she likes chocolate (it's easter!!), she said yes, especially white chocolate

and she told me she likes easter bunny, it's of my size but it isnt real (how smart she is!)

we kept talking until her mom came back and they talked to each other in a different language, so i asked where they're from. the little girl told me they're from Ukraine and asked if i'm from Scotland;

i wished them a lovely easter before they went, the mother seemed not familiar with English so she wasnt so sure how to react; it took her a while but then gave me a big big smile

the little girl is utterly sweet, polite and pretty, you can tell her family raises her really well; the wee moment engaging with her really made my day, this's the most peaceful and comforting i've felt in a long time

it makes me want to have children again and get involved in education; there is no more direct way to make the world a better place than giving children the proper care at a young age, enabling them strong psychological capabilities that would make them more resilient while navigating their later lives

the most recent observation of myself is that, i may have focused too much on my achievement than other people's welfare; the former makes me overconscientious about not meeting any societal goals, whereas the latter would make me care more about the value i could create and provide

and it's obvious the first mindset would really fk up your mental health

Serbia prefers the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 instead of the Chinese Ch-95 for its attack drone requirement

Serbia seeks to acquire Bayraktar TB2 drones manufactured in Turkey on Chinese Ch-95 drones for its attack drone requirement, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced.

A request was made by President Vucic to his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to supply Bayraktar drones, the Serbian Ministry of Defense reported that the President made the disclosure while participating in the "Fire Shield 2022" exercise carried out by the Serbian military over the weekend.

“We have "Sparrow” UAVs for aerial observation, we have CH-92 drones of small destructive power, we will acquire CH-95 drones whose destructive power is greater; but two days ago I asked President Erdogan for Bayraktar UAVs and he promised that we would skip the line and have the opportunity to buy Turkish Bayraktars and introduce them to the weapons of the Serbian Armed Forces,” the president told the Serbian Ministry of Defense.

The Bayraktar TB2 is a medium-altitude and long-duration (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) capable of autonomous or remotely controlled flight operations.

It is manufactured by the Turkish company Baykar Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., mainly for the Turkish Armed Forces and which was successful in the war in Ukraine. The aircraft is monitored and controlled by the air crew at a ground control station, including the use of weapons. The development of the UAV was widely credited to Selcuk Bayraktar, a former MIT graduate student.

He said that the military leadership was anxious for the acquisition of Bayraktars, but that he was not sure when we could buy and receive them.

Serbia had already introduced CH-92A drones, also called 'Rainbow', along with 18 FT-C or FT-D missiles. As part of the agreement, China should help Serbia develop its own drone program called 'Pegasus'.

In a significant comment, the president said: "In the coming days, on Tuesday or Wednesday, we will show the new pride of the Serbian Armed Forces, something that will dramatically increase our combat capabilities."

The president's comment coincides with the arrival on April 9, at Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade, of six Chinese Y-20 aircraft carrying an unknown military cargo. Chinese media speculated that the aircraft could be delivering the FK-3, the export version of the Chinese surface-to-air missile system HQ-22.
