South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has been in the doghouse after several passages from her memoir have received negative viral attention, including references to shooting animals and a made-up story about meeting North Korean leader Kim Jung Un.
During her appearances on various news programs, both mainstream and right-wing figures grilled Noem about the controversial passages in her book. In response, Noem doubled-down, deflected, and expressed contempt for being questioned.
Noem has now called off the rest of her book tour, canceling appearances on Fox News’ Gutfeld! and CNN’s Inside Politics.

Mainstream outlets grilled Noem about “celebrating the killing of the animals” and her fake meeting with Kim Jong Un
Noem recently made two separate appearances on CBS shows on Face the Nation and CBS Mornings to discuss her new book, No Going Back.
During those appearances, CBS hosts grilled Noem about the controversial chapter in her book in which she admitted to shooting her 14-month-old dog Cricket, as well as a now-retracted passage about a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
On May 5, when Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan asked why she shot her dog and if she regretted sharing the story, Noem defended her actions, arguing that she was “protecting” her children and livestock. The next day, on CBS Mornings, she reiterated her claim that she was protecting her family and told the story so “people would know I don’t pass my responsibilities onto anybody else."
At one point, Brennan asked Noem about another passage in her book in which she suggested that President Joe Biden’s dog, Commander, should be euthanized.
“Are you doing this to try to look tough?” Brennan asked.
“Well, number one, Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service people,” Noem said. “So how many people is enough people to be attacked and dangerously hurt before you make a decision on a dog and what to do with it?”
Noting that Commander has been removed from the White House, the moderator asked, “You’re saying [Commander] should be shot?” Noem replied: “That’s what the president should be accountable to.”
Brennan also asked Noem about another passage in which she admitted to shooting a family goat and commented that it seemed as though the governor was “celebrating the killing of the animals.”
Noem was also asked in her CBS interviews about her book’s now-retracted claim that she met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un while serving in Congress on the House Armed Services Committee. She deflected, saying that she has met with “many, many world leaders.”
Following the interview, Noem decried CBS as “fake news” and claimed that conservatives “are always treated differently” in mainstream media.
During a May 6 appearance on Elizabeth Vargas Reports, NewsNation host Elizabeth Vargas also grilled Noem about the inclusion of Kim in her book.
Vargas asked Noem why she “didn’t notice” the factual error when recording the audiobook version of her memoir and told Noem she was just trying to “get a straight answer from it.”
Noem’s publisher, Center Street, has stated that it is removing the passage about Kim from the book and has directed “further questions about the passage” to Noem.

Even after Noem retreated to right-wing media to promote her book, she did not escape criticism and tough questions.
Even much of the right-wing media aren't interested in cleaning up after Kristi Noem's defense of dog killing.

Taylor Armstrong Joins RHOC!
When fans learned on RHUGT2 that Taylor Armstrong now lived in Orange County, they were outraged that she hadn’t been considered for RHOC.
They cast Peggy Sulahian, Lydia McLaughlin twice(!), Elizabeth Vargas, Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Jennifer Armstrong – and they all flopped!
To me, Noella Bergener had potential, and she honestly deserved another season.
There’s no doubt RHOC has been struggling for years, and they had a perfectly good housewife living in the community without consider the idea.
Taylor’s friendship with Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson was surprising yet it felt completely normal.
And that’s what RHOC needs! True connections.
Not only is Taylor friends with Vicki and Tamra, but she also knows Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador!
Now that it has been announced that Tamra has returned to RHOC, the news of Taylor joining the show wasn’t far behind.
People magazine claimed that Taylor is the first housewife who has ever changed shows.
Is Taylor an essential housewife? No, there’s actually potential of her being quiet boring.
But the good news is that she’ll apparently join RHOC as a friend and not as a housewife, so she doesn’t need to be amazing.
While Taylor is boring most of the time, she’s a firecracker when she explodes, even messy. Like she was with Brandi Glanville on RHUGT2.
It would however be fascinating seeing her with Tamra, Heather, Shannon, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson in Orange County.
She has already been seen hanging out with Heather and Terry Dubrow. But will Taylor get along with everybody?
Remember how she talked to Brandi about her influence on RHOBH: She ruined a classy show, implying that she was trashy.
I just wonder if Taylor is a person who will be mesmerized by wealth and class. That means Heather freaking Dubrow.
It can’t be said for Taylor, but Tamra is going into season 17 with accusations for Heather.
She accused Heather of sabotaging her return to RHOC because of her podcast.
It’s fair to say that Bravo is making some interesting choices. This is their second cast shakeup for RHOC, so this season needs to deliver.

U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., who chairs the House Committee on Education and Labor, alleged Tuesday on NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” that the protests are being funded and organized by outsiders.
“It’s obvious that someone is funding them,” Foxx said. “They were well prepared.” (x)
“Why is everybody’s tent the same?” Mayor Eric Adams asked at a press conference Tuesday. “Was there a fire sale on those tents? There’s some organizing going on. There’s a well-concerted organizing effort and what’s the goal of that organizing? That’s what we need to be asking ourselves.”
Adams said Kaz Daughtry, a deputy police commissioner, “made a good point” in an interview with Fox when Daughtry said, “If you look at the tents, where did they all get them from? The same place, the same person? Somebody is behind this, and we’re gonna find out who it is.”
On social media, many users supplied links to a $15 pop-up tent sold online by discount store Five Below. “Looks like what we’ve got on our hands is a classic case of college students buying something cheap and disposable,” the Hell Gate story added. (x)

Background Story/Biography
Eden was born in Birmingham in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Soon after her birth her father Andrew and mother Anna moved to Bexley to be closer to Eden's grandmother, the legendary Helen Park. There Eden spends the early part of her childhood, although her mother began to bear a grudge against her and treat her badly.
Since she was little, Eden has always wanted to discover the world, also thanks to the passionate stories of her father Andrew, a well-known English poet and professor. However, one evening, while they were all in bed apart from her grandmother Helen, on a business trip a fire broke out in their residence due to her mother, who had now fallen into the abyss of alcohol after being fired from MI6 which cost the life of her father. From that moment on, Eden's resentment towards her mother grew even more and without a chance for forgiveness, their destructive relationship led Eden's grandmother to ask for custody of her granddaughter.
When she turned 14, her grandmother Helen had her enrolled in a well-known linguistic high school in Rome, where she met her best friend Chloe Valentine. Those years were full of rebellion for her but also of so much freedom that then made her mature as a person.
At 18 she returned to England where, with great commitment, she managed to obtain a bachelor degree in international relations resulting in a master's degree in languages at the University of Oxford at the age of 26 and at the same time began training in MI6, despite her grandmother being against it.
In a short time, Eden managed to make a name for herself within the famous English spy agency, being nicknamed Spectra because she left no trace of herself in her missions.
One day, in January 2019 her grandmother Helen ordered her to investigate a group of Russian ultranationalists with the collaboration of Kate Laswell, Station Chief of the CIA and Herschel Shepherd, general of the US Navy. After that mission, Helen would retire, after many years of work within MI6.
With the orders received Eden reached Russia, where she managed to intercept through some informants that there is a known chemical gas compound that could be launched in Urzikistan. The mission was also in collaboration with the SAS, which had sent its best man: Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley. The information should have been extorted from a well-known former Specnaz who ran a club in the city of St. Petersburg. The two together managed to infiltrate the club, posing as a couple there to have fun and capture the target after a very violent scuffle with his henchmen , after hours and hours Eden and Ghost managed to get information about the cargo. With the available information Eden is reached by Alex Keller, who manages to intercept the compound but he is attacked by a group of unknown enemies.She will come to discover that the cargo had been transported to a different area and that Kulikov had been used as a red herring to allow the enemy to hide the material and take time.
Between Modern Warfare I and Modern Warfare II
Eden was sent to Verbansk in late March 2019 to investigate a threat from a Russian ultra-nationalist group whose leader was Vladimir Makarov together with Ghost. The two, recovering information, managed to intercept a coded message in which they spoke of a terrorist attack within the next few days.

The relationship between Eden and Ghost during this period is full of ups and downs, especially when Eden learns that Ghost has been sent by Sheperd and Laswell on a mission to Al Mazrah working with the Shadow Company. Eden does not trust Commander Graves and warns Ghost of the danger of the mission, but her grandmother persuades her by saying that they have a common goal: to stop Hassan Zyani, heir to General Ghorbrani who may pose a threat to the entire world.

Guide to Hungarian Names
So I’m getting a little fed up with the fact that whenever there is a Hungarian character in English speaking media, their surname is Kovács, and if it’s a male character, the given name is László (maybe spelled Lazlo). So here’s a quick guide/sampler of Hungarian names
Ground rules:
In contrast to much of the world, in the case of Hungarian names, surnames come first, then given names. But when talking in English, we’ll most likely just automatically flip them
Surnames sometimes might have a spelling that goes against regular spelling rules (e.g. “német,” which is the Hungarian word for German, might be spelled as Németh as a surname)
Some surnames might exist in two versions, one ending in -i, the other in -y. In this case, the latter means that the person is from a (once) aristocratic family
Up until like the late 1980’s, women, when marrying, legally had to take on their husband’s name with the suffix -né (“wife of”). So, for example, a woman marrying a guy named Kovács János would be legally called Kovács Jánosné after marriage (given name practically erased). Now there are several options. Let’s say our hypothetical woman marrying Kovács János is called Nagy Ilona. After marriage, she might 1, keep her maiden name 2, called Kovács Ilona (take on the husband’s surname) 3, Kovács-Nagy Ilona (hyphenate) 4, Kovácsné Nagy Ilona (husband’s surname with -né suffix, maiden name), Kovács Jánosné (husband’s name with -né suffix)
Nickname forms are… varied, but generally: fist syllable (if vowel is long, it’s shortened) + consonant of the second syllable + i. So like: János –> Jani, Katalin –> Kati, István –> Isti

Kowalski in the round's first of several dramatic upsets; the #TRASHSWEEP continued well apace by laying waste to Pacer; Swank and his big ol' eyes saw a win over old Ranger Andy; and the love for 10 of Spades carried him to victory over his fellow NCR soldier Maj. Knight*.
A Bracket, Day Three: The Hadrian Gang unfortunately could not survive against the high-seed monster, Fantastic; Rotface gave Boxcars a tip: get eliminated from the tournament; the Garret Twins made a smear on the sidewalk out of bubbly Brotherhood initiate Melissa Watkins; and Ignacio Rivas's* good nature wasn't enough to take down Trudy from Goodsprings.
A Bracket, Day Four: Fan-favorite Keely utterly crucified houndmaster Antony, which has knocked every member of Caesar's Legion who isn't a slave from the tournament completely; Mr. RADical successfully just laid there while Jimmy* from Casa Madrid couldn't impress; Regis from the Great Khans just barely eked out the W to make Cliff Briscoe extinct; and Mick & Ralph pulled an overnight upset against Old Lady Gibson to punch their ticket.
B Bracket, Day One: Daisy Whitman blew up Raquel; Ringo wrecked Ramos; preliminary fave Angela Williams pulled off an astonishing upset against number two seed Oliver Swanick; and Allen Marks' victory over Crandon & Jules goes to show that the corpses keep winning.
B Bracket, Day Two: Beatrix Russell ate Chomps Lewis; Emily Ortal left Pvt. Kyle Edwards in the radioactive dust; The Lonesome Drifter drifted easily into Round 3 over Michael Angelo & Kate; and Siri beat Malcolm Holmes but not without a surprising amount of turnout for the cap-collecting good samaritan.
B Bracket, Day Three: No-Bark Noonan opened up the all-Khans bracket by kicking Oscar Velasco out of the tournament; Jessup & McMurphy successfully defeated a frail and sickly child; Melissa Lewis succeeded where her father had failed the day before with a victory over Cannibal Johnson; Doctor Usanagi proves that STEM is more valuable than an English degree by giving Jerry the Punk another beating.
B Bracket, Day Four: Big Beard & Little Beard trounce the Gundersons, probably because Heck was the only one with a beard; Chris Haversam throws Meyers back in the clink; Mister Holdout couldn't hold out against Sarah Weintraub; and finally, in the single most massive (624 votes) and close (tied as late midnight with 500 votes) and polarizing (just check the notes) match-up in the entire tournament so far, Calamity the ghoul pulled an upset over Cpl. Betsy*, who's probably dealing with her loss in therapy. Hopefully Dr. Usanagi doesn't bring up her own win.
*Happy Pride Month, losers! The first round of June and literally every canonically queer character (except for Red Lucy, bisexual [edit: and Sarah Weintraub, also bisexual!]) got voted out, and that's hilarious. Funniest possible thing that could have happened on here, the gay and transgender website, during the gay and transgender month, in a tournament for the gay and transgender video game. (Beatrix Russell and Old Ben might also be exceptions, but it's minor; I only can't remember if you can sleep with them as the same sex or not when they're working at the Atomic Wrangler, but even then they may just be gay4pay. Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Voting will pause for a bit while I prepare graphics and bracket posts, so use this downtime to mourn the fallen, celebrate the risen, and submit designated cheerleader endorsements for your favorite remaining characters in their upcoming rounds.
