Genuine ask, cuz I'm really not in the loop with youtubers or gamers and Markiplier seemed like a nice genuine dude (and the thing I knew about Pewdiepie was him using the f slur(?) so was NOT aware if he's a Nazi). But wtf? Does Markiplier legitimately sympathize with a nazi???

Pewdiepie has been famous for making multiple racist, antisemitic, and rape jokes since the beginning of his career. He'd been doing multiple antisemitic things including nazi jokes, the heil sign, & promoting a neo-nazi's youtube channel. So this wasnt a one time thing. It got to the point that Disney dropped a collab/deal with him. (Which, you can google yourself)

And then in February 13th, 2017 he tricked/paid (these fans didn't understand English very well & didn't understand what he asked them to write) some fans into holding a sign that said "death to all Jews", which he found hilarious. In the obviously understandable backlash, pewdiepie said it was just "an attack by the media to try and discredit me, to try and decrease my influence, and my economic worth" (to me this reads as the antisemite dogwhistle that all Jewish people "run the media")

When people were obviously angry about this, on Feb 17th 2017, markiplier released THIS video telling people that we should respect pewdiepie.

Pewdiepie was already a famed nazi/sympathizer by this point. So yes, markiplier not only was a nazi sympathizer & stood up for a nazi, he said people should be NICER to him about it. He then proceeded to make ANOTHER video in December 2018 telling people to subscribe to him.

6. are you religious/spiritual? Yes, but sort of by my own rules. I don't worship any deity, but I do believe they exist in that there's an element of truth to most belief systems. Strong believer in the multiverse, and only personally think of the earth and living things as divine to my own perceptions. So, I'm spiritual but not religious, I reckon? 8. what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime? EDEN/The EDEN Project is my number one "me" band of all time. They resonate with me in a very specific way. NF and A Perfect Circle are also strong contenders though! Have an EDEN recommendation though while you're here. 13. inside or outdoors? I love being outside I love to hike and swim and climb but unfortunately I am heavily limited by disability. I still want to go camping someday though, and I'm glad I got some hikes in before my chronic pain progressed :) These days I mostly keep it indoors though, and it's okay. So long as I can keep busy I don't mind.
