Call Congress to Stop KOSA

The Senate may have a simple voice vote in the next week to move the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) quickly through the legislature, without debate, but any one senator can stop it with a hold. We need you to call your senator's office today to tell them to stop KOSA. KOSA would censor the internet and would make government officials the arbiters of what young people can see online, and would likely lead to age verification.

If you live in the US, please contact your congress people to demand that they put a hold on KOSA. You can use the linked form above to contact your congress people. Please take the time to do this.

On March 13th, Congress will vote on the Kids Online Safety Act, known as KOSA, which is an internet censorship bill that'll give state attorneys power over the internet to censor anything that puts information about and resources for Palestine, Congo, Sudan, the LGBTQIA+ community, and racial groups at risk of censorship.

While the bill has enough support to pass the Senate, the House of Representatives is more divided, and KOSA is less likely to gain enough support to pass through. Tell Democrats that passing KOSA will cost them votes and the election since they'll be partially at fault for giving Republican state attorney generals the power to block access to information and resources to infringe more on abortion rights and the rights of the LGBTQIA+ and POC communities. 

As for Republicans, speak about how Democrats will weaponize this bill to "suppress" freedom of speech and the truth to aid their "woke agenda" to succeed in "destroying" America.

What are you doing to help black people?

Several things! (A Note on My Personal Limitations: I am not black. I am unable to protest for health reasons. I do not have much money at all)

I elevate black voices whenever I can

I joined an anti-racism book club where I can learn how to be a better ally and unlearn as much systemic prejudice as I can

I do not tolerate anti-black racism from anyone in my life for any reason. I call it out every time, publicly.

I donate (when financially possible) to several causes devoted to both long term and immediate aid to to black people including: various bail funds in my current state and my home state, the southern poverty law center, the Homeless Black Trans Women gofundme, the ACLU, and others.

I consistently educate people in my life about the goals of BLM — including defunding the police — in order to reduce their knee jerk reactions and foster better understanding.

I shut the eff up unless I can help. I’m no savior; I know this. I don’t break into conversations that don’t involve me. I just listen. Most of my public advocacy is amplifying black voices on issues that affect the black community without adding my irrelevant opinions as white-passing person.

Privately, I have and continue to reach out to the several black people in my life to let them know I support them and that I am listening. I listen to them vent to me about their pain and suffering. I let them tell me if I’ve fucked up somehow without getting defensive. Then I apologize sincerely and onboard the new information and don’t do whatever the offending action was again. I have not had anyone tell me I’ve fucked up in that way in over a decade, though. I did, however, realize (during my continuing journey of learning how to be anti-racist) that I’d held problematic opinions as a teenager (nothing crazy. Just ignorant teen bullshit borne from growing up as a liberal in a red state and thinking I was more progressive than I actually was at the time) and proactively reached out to the black friend I’ve known since my teenage years to say that I know I was an idiot back then and I’ve learned a lot since then and I will continue to learn and to apologize.

My work involves public communications. In my role, I continually advocate for anti-racist, black-affirming language in our company guidelines and publicly disseminated materials, even when that means confronting my boss—who is a white man.

I vote in every election in which I am able, researching every politician and bill thoroughly from multiple sources and voting as leftist as possible and educating people in my life about these bills details and the politicians platforms and records.

I am not perfect and don’t claim to be. I only claim to try my best to continually improve.

I don’t make a habit of sharing private communique and am only doing so now because this post asks for receipts. Here are some excerpts from conversations had during 2020 when tensions were a little higher. I decline to share receipts from more recently, as those conversations include more private and more identifying information. The pictured conversations involve friends I’ve had since pre-school, high school, and college. Again, this is not something I would normally share, because saying “I have black friends” is tacky and gross. But I am trying to respect your request for my commitment to the black community, which does of course include my friends. It feels wrong not to mention them in this context, even though I feel awkward saying it at all. Im also sharing only the start of longer conversations, as my friends’ pain and concerns are not for public consumption.

“We do not mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth”

The EFF’s Statement, posted on their Twitter on September 8, 2022, reads:

“The Economic Freedom Fighters notes the death of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, the Queen of the United Kingdom, and the ceremonial head of state of several countries that were colonized by the United Kingdom. Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952, reigning for 70 years as a head of an institution built up, sustained, and living off a brutal legacy of dehumanization of millions of people across the world.

We do not mourn the death of Elizabeth, because to us her death is a reminder of a very tragic period in this country and Africa's history. Britain, under the leadership of the royal family, took over control of this territory that would become South Africa in 1795 from Batavian control, and took permanent control of the territory in 1806. From that moment onwards, native people of this land have never known peace, nor have they ever enjoyed the fruits of the riches of this land, riches which were and still are utilized for the enrichment of the British royal family and those who look like them.

From 1811 when Sir John Cradock declared war against amaXhosa in the Zuurveld in what is now known as the Eastern Cape up until 1906 when the British crushed the Bambatha rebellion, our interaction with Britain under the leadership of the British royal family has been one of pain and suffering, of death and dispossession, and of dehumanization of African people. We remember how Nxele died in the aftermath of the fifth frontier war, how King Hintsa was killed like a dog on the 11th of May 1835 during the sixth frontier war, and had his body mutilated, and his head taken to Britain as a trophy.

It was also the British royal family that sanctioned the actions of Cecil John Rhodes, who plundered this country, Zimbabwe and Zambia. It was the British royal family that benefited from the brutal mutilation of people of Kenya whose valiant resistance to British colonialism invited vile responses from Britain. In Kenya, Britain built concentration camps and suppressed with such inhumane brutality the Mau Mau rebellion, killing Dedan Kimathi on the 18th of February 1957, while Elizabeth was already Queen.

This family plundered India via the East India Company, it took over control and oppressed the people of the Caribbean Islands. Their thirst for riches led to the famine that caused millions of people to die in Bengal, and their racism led to the genocide of aboriginal people in Australia.

Elizabeth Windsor, during her lifetime, never acknowledged these crimes that Britain and her family in particular perpetrated across the world. In fact, she was a proud flag bearer of these atrocities during her reign. When the people of Yemen rose to protest against British colonialism in 1963, Elizabeth ordered a brutal suppression of that uprising.

During her 70-year reign as Queen, she never once acknowledge the atrocities that her family inflicted on native people that Britain invaded across the world. She willingly benefited from the wealth that was attained from the exploitation and murder of millions of people across the world. The British Royal family stands on the shoulders of millions of slaves who were shipped away from the continent to serve the interests of racist white capital accumulation, at the center of which lies the British royal family.

If there is really life and justice after death, may Elizabeth and her ancestors get what they deserve.”

Why isn't Effy an INTJ 5w4?

In my opinion she is IF(S) / ISFP sp4w5sx VFEL

And now I will explain why:

At first glance, she may look like an INTJ, as she seems to be emotionally detached, in her own world, as if on a different wavelength. But this is not true.

High Te controversy

Effy's character is centered around her ambiguous motives, which emerge from her inner thought process and make life difficult for everyone around Eff. This is contrary to Te aux. They tend to form groups based on desires that stem from objective criteria.

Te types are defined by an intellectual formula based on objective, rational and logical ideals that are used both individually and collectively. Manifestations of this type include reductive and collective thinking, obsession with the principles of society. And if we apply this to Stonem , then we will understand that this does not work, from the word at all. Equating it with extraverted thinking is simply not logical, erroneous and not true.

Elizabeth never relies on her environment, she seeks to control and influence it.

But if not Te aux, then probably Ti? Nah, Effy is also completely devoid of it.

To classify her as a person who is looking for some kind of justification and a logical chain in her actions and evaluates situations on her own understanding is complete nonsense.

Effy does not interact with new information in any way in order to fit it into a logical system and look for a connection in it. She doesn't care if something makes sense or not, she only cares about what feels right to her and what's comfortable for her. Effy's judgments pass through the prism of subjective feelings and uses them as an objective measure of her sympathies.

That's sorted out, so now why is Effy Fi dom?

Fi dom in most cases are silent, inaccessible and others do not understand them: they seem cold and reserved, it may seem that they have no feelings at all. But in fact, their feelings are very intense. They are guided by their emotions and their true motives often remain a secret.

She is aloof, ambiguous, her judgment process is internal, with no desire to influence emotional experiences and impose her principles on others, because of this, it is difficult for others to truly understand her, no one understands what she feels and what she wants.

We were shown that Effy supposedly suffered for many years, because of this she is inaccessible and keeps everything to herself.

In Season 2 Episode 7, Stonem blackmailed Sid into completing an art project for her, but he was later handed over to Pandora. Because of this, Effy improvised her art project and presented her emotions, stating that her lack of preparation was "conceptual art". And when somehow people came to the conclusion that this scene was a sign of introverted intuition, just because she used the word “conceptual” when it is the embodiment of introverted feeling. Effy looks cold and unfeeling, but inside is a fire of emotion. She says she experiences many emotions but no one sees them, isn't that literally a Fi function? This quote captures the essence of Elizabeth's character.

She is observant and judicious as she seeks to form judgments and categories in order to change people and analyze perceptions based on these chosen criteria. In addition, in her character, emotionality is quite common.

Several people have claimed that Effy is supposedly out of touch with reality because she is detached from her interactions with Pandora and Julie from the first season, but this is not only false (since Effy can reasonably answer Pandora's questions by watching what happens). This is a look at Stonem's friendship with two girls. While we see Effy eventually getting closer to Pandora, it's pretty clear that Effy hangs out with Julie and Pandora because they're willing to do whatever she says, they don't pose a threat to her popularity and she used them to feel better.

A lot of people call Effy someone who is out of touch with material reality and lives in her imagination, and that's just not true. The fact that Effy conveys the appearance of a cold, mysterious and withdrawn person does not automatically make her aloof intuitive. There was simply no time when Effy wandered into the realm of her linear vision of the world or focused on abstraction. Just be in silence or think with an intuitive process and activity.

With raw observation, Se is also focused on sensory stimuli and the pleasure of feeling. When we get to know Effy, it's quite clear that Effy is quite bored when she doesn't indulge in forms of pleasure, even when she ignores her friend, she is still bored, looking for something to keep her busy, be it playing with her lighter on the bus or flirting with a stranger on the same bus, because of this, she looked for stimuli in the outside world, and not looked for them in the realm of intuition.

And you might think “God, this is just a low Se or Ni transition at home into stress!”

Many who type her as INT* have come to the conclusion that Effy's craving for stimuli was the result of a lower Se and a desire for physical escapism. Which doesn't make absolute sense when you think about it, for various reasons. The main reason is that Effy didn't experience much stress in her first season episode, there was no need to run away with physical stimuli or an excessive need for sensations to help her stress. This was simply the result of her ideal that sensual enjoyment is the manifestation of life. Ultimately, this is Effy's primary way of perceiving.

The fact is that an introverted intuitive is often not aware of external factors, so he tries to be more careful. He can lie a lot, simply because he has his head in the clouds and does not notice the real world, he misses a lot of external factors and simply does not accept them. Effy, operates primarily with objective facts. As an example, when three guys are addicted to her, she gives them a list or a receipt of mushrooms, etc...

Why Effy VFEL?

You can find fault with the fact that, Fi dom can not be with 1V. But do not forget that this does not work for fictional characters that are not particularly well written / and developed (Effy is one of them). In principle, it is difficult to fit her into any kind of typology framework.

Effy cannot be E1V3, such a type has through measured emotionality, one might say hysterical. (3v makes the first function hyperactive) Elizabeth, on the contrary, hides her emotions very well, yet 3V is not like it, because Eff does not need decision support, she doubts nothing, she follows her whims and does as she wants, which is typical of 1V3E . 3E is perfect for her, as she hides and suppresses her true feelings and holds them until she breaks, she seems cold and filters her emotions by hiding them, unlike 1E. As Effy, 3E does not show much of her inner world and emotions, so she acts cold and heartless, although we later learn what she really has inside and how much is hidden there.

Stop the Protecting Kids on Social Media Act | EFF Action Center

The Protecting Kids on Social Media Act would lead to a second-class online experience for young people, mandated privacy-invasive age verification for all users, and in all likelihood, the creation of digital IDs for all U.S. citizens and residents. The bill will make it illegal for anyone under 13 to join a social media platform, and require parental consent, verified by the government, for anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 to do so. The world envisioned by the authors of this bill is one where everyone has less privacy and less power to speak out and access information online.

This bill is technically an alternative to the dangerous Kids Online Safety Act, but it is a bad one. No one should have to hand over their driver’s license just to access free websites. Having to hand over that driver’s license to a government program doesn’t solve the problem. The end result of this law would likely be that a huge number of young people—particularly the most vulnerable—would lose access to social media platforms, which can play a critical role for young people in accessing resources and support in a wide variety of circumstances. Tell your Senator you oppose it.

There’s no doubt that if KOSA, an internet censorship bill, passes and gives state attorney generals power over the internet, they’ll use it to censor information about:

-The genocides happening in Palestine, the Congo, and Sudan

-The LGBTQIA+ community, their resources, issues, and history
