Chilean Tiger Spider (Scytodes globula)

Conservation Status- Unlisted
Habitat- Chile; Argentina; Uruguay; Bolivia
Size (Weight/Length)- 50 mm
Diet- Insects; Recluse spiders
Cool Facts- The Chilean tiger spider has one of the craziest hunting methods I’ve ever seen. Also called the spitting spider, they are capable of spraying high velocity webs from their abdomen. After prey is immobilized from the sprayed web, the Chilean tiger spider injects it with venom. Having a ranged attack allows the Chilean tiger spider to be the only natural predator of the Chilean recluse spider. Outside of eating recluse spiders, they are also important for pest management of mosquitoes and biting flies. Chilean tiger spiders have never been medically recorded to bite a human as they only use their venom while hunting. When faced with a larger threat, they would prefer to run.

Chapter 58 of Out of Eden, aka the big Mormon!Klaine fic, is up on AO3.
Fic Summary: As a gay Mormon, Kurt Hummel has decided to go the rest of his life without falling in love. But toward the end of his two years as a missionary in Germany, Elder Blaine Anderson moves into his apartment—and Kurt’s best-laid plans fall apart.
Chapter Summary: Kurt reads a familiar book of Mormon passage in a new way. Plus, the missionaries visit the Audi museum and get letters from America.
When Kurt went to bed and stared up at the stars through the skylight, the doubts always crept back in.

American Badger (Taxidea taxus)

Conservation Status- Least Concern
Habitat- North America; Northern Mexico, Southern Canada
Size (Weight/Length)- 16 kg; 76 cm
Diet- Insects; Small mammals
Cool Facts- The American badger is a big, bad, digging machine. Digging large burrows, these badgers constantly move homes and territories. Often setting up shop near prairie dog towns, American badgers can dig faster than the rodents can run. However, despite their low-to-the-ground bodies and stocky size, they can still be spotted with ease on open grassland by their prey. So, badgers have come up with a solution. Teaming up with a coyote, the coyote forces prairie dogs into their burrows while the badger digs them out. Sharing their food and working together increases both of their hunting rates by almost 33%.
Rating- 13/10 (An unlikely duo to be sure but an ingenious one.)

When all the darkness fades away
We had to steal him from his fate

(AKA Trimax AU where Wolfwood got infused with Plant energy when Vash used so much of his power next to his dead body. Took a couple days but he wakes up very confused and very small, because the healing was a bit too potent. A Dickens December Day 14
The food vanished from the room, but Dickens promptly compensated with two paragraphs describing some of the most delectable products in literature. Chestnuts, Spanish onions, cinnamon, figs, and plums become characters in their own right through his vivid descriptions. Reading Dickens often gives the impression that Victorian cuisine was truly delightful.
Scrooge's claims to the Ghost about depriving the poor ‘of their means of dining every seventh day' require context from that time. Surprisingly, Scrooge defends the poor, echoing Dickens' thoughts on the matter. In the 1830s, there were attempts to enforce the observance of the 'sabbath' by bakers, which indeed deprived the poor of the chance to heat their food as they lacked their own stoves. Could it be that the Ghost of Christmas Present represents Christianity in general, embodying its rules and demands?
