"You can't tell anyone" with character of your choice
fic: dads, pt. 1
//
The label from Mary's beer bottle has been shredded and pushed into a pile on the kitchen island in front of her when Lilith slips in off the back porch. She doesn't look up at Lilith's approach, her shoulders tense as she traces her thumb around the lip of the bottle.
Lilith clears her throat. "Mary…"
"You really want to have this out when half of Shan's team is in the backyard?" Mary's voice is dull, flattened in the air between them. Her laugh is equally as toneless. "Though, you haven't shown much self-control today, have you?"
"Mary, you can't tell anyone."
Mary raises her head. Her eyes feel sharp as cut glass where they track Lilith's path around the island. "That's what you're concerned about? Jesus, when have you ever known me to run my mouth?"
Lilith plants her hands on the countertop and leans towards Mary. "You can't–"
"Could you maybe wash your hands before touching every fucking surface in here?"
Lilith flinches, nods, steps to the sink. "Sorry," she mutters, turning the tap on with her forearm and dispensing soap into her hand with the side of her palm. "I didn't think."
"Clearly."
She can feel Mary's gaze hot on her back as she scrubs her hands, works soap into the spaces between her fingers, under her nails. It brings to mind the song Libby always hums under her breath when she tries to work paint from her skin, and the thought makes Lilith's breath hang in her throat.
She fishes the sponge from the drying rack and turns, makes a show of wiping the counter where she'd touched it. Mary raises her bottle in a mocking salute before draining it dry.
"You can't tell Shannon," Lilith continues, once she's returned the sponge to the sink and dried her hands. "I mean it, Mary."
"That's the last fucking thing I'd ever think of doing." Mary presses a hand to her temple, spares a glance towards the porch door. "If she'd been the one who caught you two, Lilith… Fuck. You got lucky. Not that I'm thrilled about this either, but… Fuck."
"What do you mean?"
"You two and Libby are the only family she's got left, and you've already tossed a nuke in that–"
"We–"
"I know it was rational and I know you thought it through but it sat with her, Lily. She was so terrified she'd lose one of you, both of you, all three of you. She still is. And now the two of you are, what, hooking up? Fuck buddies? Have you thought this through? Because it sure isn't fucking rational."
"We didn't mean for…" Lilith works her jaw, shakes her head. "This was the only–" Mary arches a dubious eyebrow and Lilith deflates, slumps forward against the island. "I don't know what I'm doing, Mary," she admits, her voice hoarse.
"Well, you better fucking figure it out."

A few weeks had passed since their little vacation and the throuple had begun to build their home. And it was just about done, thank you Tony Stark, just the wiring and the extra accessories left to work on. (Y/n) was excited to see the final results she and Ash were already buying furniture.
The team had also resumed moving into the compound. So, a good majority of the labs and training halls were packed away which meant (y/n) had less work to do and more time to shop. And today she was Dragging Bruce along with her. They were finishing up the kitchen. The throuple agreed to light grey countertop and dark grey cabinets with silver handles, the idea of white anything just unsettled the family as a whole. They all agree on the walls, beyond their personal space, being off white and grey.
“Oh this is cute” (Y/n) said showing a Kawaii, yes Kawaii not cute, kitten designed kitchen utensils.
“You already have spatulas and those don’t even match the aesthic. “Bruce said as he took it from her hand and put it back.” We are here for the bathrooms.”
“Ash can decorate her own bathroom. And Steve and Bucky can careless as long as the towels are soft enough and there are shelves for their products. They are being simple”
“most men are”
“They aren’t simply. They are BEING simple big difference.”
“How?” Bruce asked as he manuvered (Y/n) way from the kitchen section and into the bathroom section.
“Steve wants an art room. And he wants the whole nine yards with it. A thousand shelves and drawers, a million canvas, and sketch books. And a big window so he can gaze at nature for inspiration.”
“Why don’t I believe you?”
And he shouldn’t. Steve truly just wanted a little nook/ window seel where he could draw in peace and a desk or closet to put his art supplies away. It was (y/n) and Bucky who wanted him to have more, his own personal space to explore. Steve could do with small and simple but they always wanted to give him more.
They were all like that with each other.
Bruce watched as (Y/n) slows down as she looked at the bathroom decor specifically his & her decor. She picked up two matching soap dispensers. Leaning on the cart Bruce bumps her hip slightly releasing her from her deep thoughts.
“I never thought I’d have this.” He looked at her confused “Honestly, the time I came from what i currently have wasn’t even a possibility. But even if we did manage somehow, it still wouldn’t have been because we were so poor at the time. And now... I’m not even looking at price tags.
I’m building a house-not buying building. A high-tech one as well. And I have a daughter. I have an awesome job taking care of people... This wasn’t even a dream.... Bruce?”
“Yeah?”
“I think I’m going to cry.”
“I think we’ve done enough shopping today. Let’s go cry in the car.”
-
“Welcome home” Bucky called out as he heard the Elevator door close. Steve greeted him as he rounded the corner. “I’m making dinner. We’re having salmon.”
“Where are the girl?” Steve asked as he approached him hugging him from behind and asking his neck.
“They are in the living room watching tv.” Bucky said as he leaned back to get a proper kiss from him. “Go tell them to wash up for dinner. I’m almost done.”
“Hey, hey” (Y/n) said Steve approached them from behind. Leaning over the back of the couch he kissed Ash’s forehead before giving (Y/n) a proper kiss.
“What are you guys watching?”
“Nothing really. We are actually looking up furniture for Ash’s room.” (Y/n) explained as she handed him the tablet showing what they had.
“This looks really good. Can’t wait to see it all together. By the way Time for dinner. We’re eating salmon.”
“Oh, I love salmon”
“Honestly you love just love food.”
“Correction, I love good food” (y/n) said they all went to wash up.
“Did you decide on anything?” Bucky asked as he set their plates.
“Thank you, honey. And yes, she found a few thinks she liked.”
Taking out the tablet again Ash handed over to Bucky and they began to talk about her choses. (Y/n) watched as Ash and Bucky went over her room and what more she could put in it and decorate it. They were both smiling as the spoke. You could see the resemblance in their smiles and the way they laughed. Both so beautiful.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Steve asked as he reached across the table taking her hand.  (Y/n) hadn’t realized she had started crying she laughed and started wiping her tears away.
“Mom, what’s wrong?”
Everything stopped.
“what-what did you say?” (Y/n) whispered as more tears spilled.
“I...mom?”
(Y/n) started laughing as she pulled Ash into her chest hugging her. In all the time Ash had been with them she had never addressed them as anything but their names this was the first time she’d ever...
“You called me mom. I’m mom”
“Why are you crying?” Ash asked as she hugged her Mother.
“Because I’m happy. I’m so happy I’m crying. You’re making me happy.” The whole family sigh in relief as (Y/n) continued to cry and hug her daughter.  “I just never thought... oh I love you all, I love you all so much.”

the soap dispenser in our bathroom ran out, so instead of replacing it, my roommate decided to switch to a bar of soap instead. and instead of, say, getting something to hold that bar of soap, they just left it sitting on the countertop

Bro those restock videos are crazy like the motivation these people have and the amount of money they make to go out and buy all these storage bins and containers and take things out of containers and put in other containers and make labels and constantly restock and clean every week and dust and polis and vacuum and everything is crazy. I vacuum the floor when it looks dirty and I forget about dusting and I do the laundry when it needs to be done. I occasionally vacuum around the toilet or wipe down the countertops but jeez. And some of the things these people have, what country do they live in? What you mean the curtains are controlled by a remote and how does your sink do that and what kind of soap dispenser is that and why do you need so much makeup and what’s with all those containers and who pre washes vegetables before you eat them? Some of it makes sense and some of it doesn’t but boy do they kinda is satisfying to watch

How to Install a Kitchen Sink Plumbing System?
Installing a kitchen sink plumbing system can seem like a daunting task, especially if you're not a seasoned DIY enthusiast. However, with the right tools, materials, and a clear step-by-step guide, you can successfully install your kitchen sink plumbing system and ensure it functions perfectly.
Whether you’re replacing an old sink or installing a new one, this guide will walk you through the process, offering tips and insights along the way. Not only will you save money by doing it yourself, but you’ll also gain a valuable skill that can come in handy in future home improvement projects.
1. Gather Your Tools and Materials
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials. You will need a sink, faucet, plumber’s putty, pipe wrench, adjustable wrench, pipe cutter, Teflon tape, PVC pipes, and fittings. Having everything on hand will streamline the installation process and prevent unnecessary delays.
2. Turn Off the Water Supply
Before starting any plumbing work, it's crucial to turn off the water supply. Locate the shut-off valves under your sink and turn them off. If there are no shut-off valves, you will need to turn off the main water supply to your home. Open the faucet to drain any remaining water from the pipes.
3. Remove the Old Sink
If you are replacing an old sink, you will need to remove it first. Start by disconnecting the water supply lines and the drain pipes. Use a pipe wrench or adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts connecting the pipes to the sink. Carefully lift the old sink out of the countertop, being cautious not to damage the surrounding area.
4. Install the Faucet and Accessories
Before placing the new sink into the countertop, it's easier to install the faucet and any accessories, such as a soap dispenser or sprayer. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installing the faucet. Apply plumber’s putty around the base of the faucet to create a watertight seal. Insert the faucet through the holes in the sink and secure it with the provided nuts and washers.
5. Position the New Sink
Carefully place the new sink into the countertop opening. Make sure it fits snugly and is level. If the sink is not level, use shims to adjust it. Apply a bead of silicone caulk around the edge of the sink to create a watertight seal between the sink and the countertop.
6. Connect the Water Supply Lines
Once the sink is in place, connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Use Teflon tape on the threads of the supply lines to ensure a tight seal. Tighten the connections with a wrench, being careful not to overtighten and damage the fittings. Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks.
7. Install the Drain Assembly
Next, install the drain assembly. Start by applying plumber’s putty around the drain opening in the sink. Insert the drain flange and press it firmly into place. From underneath the sink, attach the gasket and locknut to secure the drain flange. Tighten the locknut with a pipe wrench.
8. Connect the P-Trap and Drain Pipes
Attach the P-trap to the drain tailpiece using a slip nut and washer. Connect the other end of the P-trap to the drain pipe coming from the wall. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. The P-trap prevents sewer gases from entering your home and catches debris that could clog your plumbing system.
For more detailed information on bathroom sink plumbing, you can visit Sink plumbing.
9. Test for Leaks
After all the connections are made, turn on the water supply and test for leaks. Run water through the faucet and check all the connections for any signs of leakage. If you find any leaks, tighten the connections or apply additional plumber’s putty or Teflon tape as needed.
10. Clean Up and Finalize the Installation
Once you are sure there are no leaks, clean up any excess plumber’s putty or silicone caulk. Replace any items that were removed during the installation, such as cabinet doors. Your new kitchen sink plumbing system is now ready for use.
