"I suppose nothing hurts you." "Only pain."
I liked the part with the peacocks.
A surprisingly tame adventure, but entertaining nonetheless. I really enjoyed the D&D party vibes the protagonists had going, with all the different classes of adventurer on a quest to retrieve a macguffin from a wizard's tower, and stop a big bad demon-fish.
The battle in the hall of mirrors was awesome. The initial shot of all the red robed figures emerging from the reflections looked amazing, and then was immediately ruined by the reveal that under the hood was a shitty-looking rubber orc costume. Even so, the ensuing fight was some really memorable stuff, and the way the corpse reverted to shards of mirrored glass was cool as hell.
Grace Jones was a total badass, bringing so much barely contained energy to her scenes. Tracey Walter's unscrupulous rogue character was cliché, but brought about some good laughs. Wilt Chamberlain was so damn tall that at one point he hunched over and still made Arnold Schwarzenegger look tiny by comparison. I hated the design of his pointlessly-beaked morningstar, but it was still satisfying to watch him hit people with it.
The worst part of the movie, hands down, was Olivia d'Abo's horrendous acting. Her delivery was about as expressive as a brick wall, and she had zero perceivable chemistry with Schwarzenegger. The bit where he was drunkenly slurring his words was the closest any other performance got to being as bad as hers.
Nothing exactly mind-blowing, but a very good adventure movie with a lot of fun moments.

Grace Jones
Grace Beverly Jones (born 19 May 1948??) is a model, singer and actress. Born in Jamaica, she and her family moved to Syracuse, New York, when she was a teenager. Jones began her modeling career in New York state, then in Paris, working for fashion houses such as Yves St. Laurent and Kenzo, and appearing on the covers of Elle and Vogue. She notably worked with photographers such as Jean-Paul Goude, Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Hans Feurer, and became known for her distinctive androgynous appearance and bold features.
Her grandfather, John Williams, was also a musician and played with Nat King Cole. Her father, Bishop Robert Winston Jones, moved the family to CNY and founded the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Syracuse. Jones' brother is megachurch preacher Bishop Noel Jones, who starred on the 2013 reality show Preachers of LA.
Through her relationship with longtime collaborator Jean-Paul Goude, Jones has one son, Paulo. From Paulo, Jones has one granddaughter.
Jones attended Central High School in Syracuse. She claims she doesn't know how old she is. Although some sources say she was born in 1948, Jones says she graduated early from Central High School in Syracuse in 1967; she was around 15 years old, ahead of most of her peers due to more rigorous education at an early age in Jamaica. She also studied theater at Onondaga Community College.
Beginning in 1977, Jones embarked on a music career, securing a record deal with Island Records and initially becoming a high-profile figure of New York City's Studio 54-centered disco scene. In the early 1980s, she moved toward a new wave style that drew on reggae, funk, post-punk, and pop music, frequently collaborating with both the graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude and the musical duo Sly & Robbie. She scored Top 40 entries on the UK Singles Chart with "Private Life", "Pull Up to the Bumper", "I've Seen That Face Before", and "Slave to the Rhythm". In 1982, she released the music video collection A One Man Show, directed by Goude, which earned her a nomination for Best Video Album at the 26th Annual Grammy Awards. Her most popular albums include Warm Leatherette (1980), Nightclubbing (1981), and Slave to the Rhythm (1985).
As an actress, Jones appeared in several indie films prior to landing her first mainstream appearance as Zula in the fantasy-action film Conan the Destroyer (1984) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sarah Douglas, and subsequently appeared in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill (1985) as May Day, and starred as a vampire in Vamp (1986); all of which earned her nominations for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1992, Jones acted in the Eddie Murphy film Boomerang, and contributed to the soundtrack. She also appeared alongside Tim Curry in the 2001 film Wolf Girl.

Decided to get down with some top tier Conan the Barbarian rip offs. Starting out right with Ator, the Fighting Eagle (1982). This gem was hastily slapped together after Conan released in Spring 1982. It was out in Italy by the end of 1982 and the US in early 1983. Hopefully I can continue with Ator 2, aka The Blade Master (which was hastily slapped together after Conan the Destroyer dropped in summer 1984). That is up to the God of Seeds/Peers.
It is probably one of the better ones to test the waters with, as there are notable RiffTrax and MST3K versions available. Watch at your own risk, with these 80s fantasy movies. I doubt there exists one without highly problematic elements, and casual SA abounds.

Fun movies to watch with your (not so little) kids.
Don't sleep on fun goofy adventures like Conan the Destroyer (1984), it's lighter in tone and such than the first one. Arnold even apologizes to a camel he'd previously knocked out.
Get a healthy dose of rad action and anti-imperial politics in Kong: Skull Island (2017), it's got some super good comedy beats, and plenty of peril to teach your kiddos to watch out for mother nature!
No household should go without at least a monthly viewing of Yes Madam (1985), to keep your children aware of the dangers of crossing Michelle Yeoh.
A Goofy Movie (1995) is a good, fun introduction to responsible hentai consumption.
Want them to have a sense of humor? make sure they watch Airplane! (1980), Tropic Thunder (2008), and The Act of Killing (2012). What about a sense of humour? Keep copies of Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975, Life of Brian 1979) , and A Clockwork Orange (1971) at hand. And if you want them to have a dark sense of humor, tell them to WATCH THE NEWS! Right folks!
The Thing 1980 is the second-best movie ever made (see Kong: Skull Island, above), and it'll instill a healthy distrust of Norwegian Scientist marksmanship.
Repeat viewings of Wet Hot American Summer (2001) will help them know what went wrong with the US, and show how easy it was to be a horny teen in the Before Times. Before the drought of 2023, widespread Covid+ of 2024, and the release of Avatar 3 in 2025.

Swinging from one production to another Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4. 'Stranger Things' Gave Hopper 'Conan the Barbarian's Sword, David Harbour who plays David, revealed on Monday that the original prop sword that Arnold Schwarzene used in the movies Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Conan the Destroyer (1984) made an appearance in the conclusion of the fourth season of Stranger Things. Hopper one of the stars of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things revealed on his personal Instagram account that the fourth season of the show recycled a prop from an unexpected source: the classic Conan films from the 1980s, which were led by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Because of this, we can immediately begin writing our fan fiction about Jim Hopper (Harbour) being a distant descendant of Conan because they both wielded the same sword. The fourth season of Stranger Things featured a gladiatorial arena set up inside a Soviet prison. In this arena, prisoners were forced to fight against an elite monster from the Upside Down known as a Demogorgon. During the time that the Soviet regime spent studying the Demorgongon and attempting to weaponize it, these bloody battles were staged in order to keep the guards entertained and to keep the creature occupied. 'Stranger Things' Gave Hopper 'Conan the Barbarian's Sword! Therefore, rather than having a fight that was fair, the prisoners were only allowed to use melee weapons, such as a sword that seemed very fishy. Harbour came to the conclusion that it was time to explain where the Demogorgon came from once the series finale was made available on Netflix and everyone had a chance to watch Jim defeat the Demogorgon with the unique sword. As Harbour explains it: "Nerd alert. The Atlantean sword from the "CONAN" movie franchise appears as a prop at the very end of Episode 9. A kind supporter discovered a still from when it was established in episode 7 and used by an unfortunate inmate who met an untimely death near the cells that are located on the side of our gladiatorial pit. The real thrill of this, however, is that the sword that the amazing 'ST' props department (please reveal yourselves so that I can give credit where credit is due) gave to me is THE ACTUAL SWORD that was utilized during the production of both of the CONAN movies. It was difficult as all get out to manipulate, but doing so was an incredible privilege. Arnold Schwarzenegger, I am prepared to take into consideration the feedback you provide regarding my style.’’ Both the 1981 film Conan the Barbarian and the 1984 film Conan the Destroyer, were both based on the classic character created by Robert E. Howard and originating in pulp stories featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger wielding the Atlantean sword. It's interesting to note that the replica sword that Arnold Schwarzenegger used in one of his movies was of such high quality that it survived the years and was used in one of Netflix's most popular shows. In an exclusive interview with Collider, we can watch the video given below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5T9DN9T8_o With the release of Season 4 on Netflix, Stranger Things once again demonstrated that it is an unstoppable media phenomenon, with fans having already consumed more than one billion hours of the show. Therefore, it is not surprising that Netflix has reached an agreement with the creators' Matt and Ross Duffer (also known as The Duffer Brothers) to direct multiple television projects in the near future. These projects will include a live-action adaptation of the Death Note series as well as an adaptation of The Tasliman, a novel written by Stephen King and Peter Straub in 1984. There is also a plan for Stranger Things spinoffs that are currently being discussed, which ensures that Hawkins will continue to play an important role in ou
r lives for a considerable amount of time. FAQ Did Hopper use the Conan sword? For His Dungeons & Dragons Fight, the TV Show "Stranger Things" Gave Hopper the Sword from "Conan the Barbarian." Transitioning smoothly from one production to the next. What sword did Conan find? The "Father's Sword," which was the sword made by Conan's father at the beginning of the film, and the "Atlantean Sword," which was the sword that Conan found in a cave and used throughout the movie, were the two swords that had the most significant roles to play in the movie "Conan the Barbarian."What kind of sword did Hopper use in Stranger Things?Later, Harbour revealed the prop sword to be the authentic, hand-forged Atlantean sword that Arnold Schwarzenegger used in the iconic film series. He did so by posting the revelation on his Instagram profile.Where did hopper get the sword from? And before you ask, no, it's not a replica of the sword from Conan; it's the real deal. In an interview with British GQ, David Harbour himself confirmed this information, saying, "I don't know if you saw this, but that sword I pick up—it's actual prop sword they used in Conan the Barbarian."Who owns the sword from Conan the Barbarian? The writer and director of "Conan the Barbarian," John Milius, has the hero sword that Arnold Schwarzenegger used in the film and has provided a letter of provenance for it that he signed. Milius has the sword in his possession. What was the sword Hopper used?It is the sword that Arnold Schwarzenegger wields in the film.
