Pro-Palestinian supporters are calling for a second real estate event planned north of Toronto to be called down over concerns it involves the selling of land in the occupied West Bank. On Sunday, dozens of people gathered near the Aish Hatorah synagogue in Thornhill, Ont., to protest an event that organizers say was aimed at helping people in the Toronto area buy property in Israel. They were met with pro-Israeli counterprotesters and Jewish leaders took issue with the Sunday protest taking place outside a synagogue. But pro-Palestinian protesters say companies associated with the event market property in the West Bank, where over two million Palestinians live under Israel's military occupation, according to the United Nations (UN). A similar event is expected to take place Thursday at another synagogue in the area. It is unclear whether the two events are connected. "We weren't there because it's a synagogue, we were there because we were protesting against a real estate show," said Ghada Sasa, who was at the protest over the weekend.

So interesting how Canada has provided arms, training, military intelligence, and funding to the IOF for decades and during this latest wave of occupation atrocities and genocide, but people still are believing that Canada is somehow better than the US. Canadian military intelligence was key in developing the census data used to target as many Palestinans in Gaza as possible per strike. It was used to train their murderous "assassination factory" algorithm which is used to maximize kills per bomb. Canada's literally doing the same things and it's even doing the same propaganda of materially contributing to genocide while claiming to be working "behind the scenes" to stop it SO many of the so-called western governments are doing literally the exact same thing yet y'all think begging genociders to please stop by sending letters and calls is working if you think asking mass murderers to stop their actions can or will work, it's because you are willing to buy genocidal propaganda instead of rejecting it in favor of supporting militant action against genocide. It's telling that those voices most loudly and consistently urging & organizing all these petitions are white & unmasked in public. They're genociders who believe they're better because they don't like (some) war but they still like genocidal governments and committing genocide for personal pleasure.

The Government of Canada has announced multiple rounds of sanctions against various parties in the Middle East since October 7. On Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announced sanctions against Iran's minister of defence and its general staff. On February 3, she announced that Canada would impose sanctions on both leaders of Hamas involved in the October 7 massacre and extremist Israeli settlers involved in violent attacks on Palestinian civilians in the West Bank. But there's an important difference between the sanctions announced against Palestinians and Iranians and the ones announced against Israelis — the ones against Israelis have not been gazetted and therefore never took effect.
