While on an assignment to deal with smuglars who want to bring illegal medical potions, broths and ingredients into Araluen, everything goes wrong what supposedly could go wrong. Will is old warm weed trauma is acting up again and while attempting to save Will and Horace from being overdosed by warm weed, Halt gets nicked with a knife glazed in an odd substance. Knowing from experience how bad this can become, the men ride for Redmont in the hope master Finlay, a former student of the renowned healer Malcolm, can be of assistance. They were no moment too soon; Halt falls unconscious on his horse and is brought into the infirmary, unconscious. Master Finlay explains to lady Pauline that the knife was glazed in something called a "slow, viral poison", meaning that how longer it is present in the body, the more damage it can do. Halt will live, as Will and Horace got him to Finlay within twelve hours, but how will he be when he wakes up? Will there be permanent damage and will Halt recover?

"There's no need for this." Nox bats at Timeblade as it hovers near him, ticking anxiously. This odd… creature that looked much like his creations was starting to grow on him - its abilities were quite useful while he lacked his own. Even so, there were things it could not do for him. For one, it couldn't help him keep upright as he swayed, forced to sit down on the ground just so he doesn't end up falling on his face.

The Eliacube kept him alive and capable of withstanding a significant amount of damage. It did not need to keep him healthy, so it didn't do that. Combined with his levitation being taken away (and the beating that old dragon gave him), well, Nox might be having some difficulties with getting around the city for now. A fact he was more than willing to ignore until his body decided to suddenly betray him.

Of course, the street just couldn't stay deserted a little longer while he caught his breath. His head snaps to the side, sharp like a hand of a clock, at the noise of someone approaching. At the same time XI Timeblade moves in front of him, the ticking sounds instantly becoming more aggressive.

"Can I help you?" The faux cheery tone is easy enough to pull off at least, though some annoyance does bleed through. Nox doesn't make a move to get up yet, if only because he's not sure he can.
