Another year, another outfit to die in! Happy birthday again Izuna!!!!!!
Like last year, I played with someone else's lines for these charming patterns, thank you so much Lena @elhnrt ! I had a ton of fun :D
Check the readmore for pattern references and explanations, there are some easter eggs in there :)

My goal for this piece, in addition to playing with patterns and textures and adding some Naruto references, was to add as many death flags as possible.
The idea of having Izuna in a fireman's coat is obviously not from me. I've always like the idea of Uchihas in fire resistant clothes, and the opportunity for a thick texture alongside a reversible double pattern is very appealing. I used the image of the second reference as a base, with skulls on one side and stylized lightning patterns on the other (visible inside the sleeves and collar). Both were common immagery of firemen coats.
The actual skull pattern is taken from the third reference. I'd seen this one before and before even learning anything abt it it was too beautiful to pass up. Those white and navy gradients are absolutely delightful and I enjoyed using my gel pens for them very much.... This particular type of imagery with skulls and bones in a field is called Nozarashi, inspired by Buddhist representation of death and transience.
The lightning pattern itself is a reference to water and lightning dragons :) Like Tobirama's iconic jutsu, it's one of the hints of what's abt to happen to our little guy. The scabbard is also decorated with dragon motifs for the same reason.
The background pattern is taken from the first reference, another fireman's coat with an illustration of Raijin, the thunder god. He is often representated with drums decorated with tomoes. It works nicely as a standard looking sharingan illustration, with a reference to Tobirama's hiraishingiris with the thunder imagery, like the thunder patterns inside the coat.
If you're interested in this I recommend the book linked in the second reference! It is entirely about skeleton motifs in japanese clothing of the early 20th century.

yippee more turtle hugs! now with pillow fort :}
[Image description: A digital illustration of Leo and Mikey from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 cartoon. The two of them are sitting and hugging, surrounded by blankets and pillows. Leo smiles warmly as he tucks Mikey's head under his chin. Mikey has a hand on Leo's shoulder and, though his face is mostly obscured, appears to be grinning. A metal chair can be seen in the back holding up part of the pillow fort, and a small string of lights casts a warm glow to the image. The line art is wobbly and sketchy. The shading is monotone with a painterly texture. End description.]

Cw. Eye strain, body horror
As were dealing with Hermie angst in canon i decided to add some of my own angst to the wat, I just think he's neat. Also here's a statment i suppose: (i wrote it a while ago and no one beta'd it so it might slight nonsense)
H door creek/opening
S why are you here?
H to give my statment of course, that's what you do, take statments isn't it? And i do think mine will intrest you greatly.
S i swear to satan if you are wasting my time right now..
H i would never!
S i highly doubt that. >:[ now get to the point or get out,
H what point? This one or that one *points to appearing dots in the room*
S get out
H Oh so grumpy! A bit peckish are we?
My parents, they never got me, they were too normal, just average suburban people thru and thru, doctors, both of them, with competition wining roses and spotless dining tables because no one ate at them enough to make a mess. The kind to show of a child at a meeting and then pretend like they never existed when its more convenient. My life was full of staying at home when my parents had their little vacations, "youre old enough to stay alone for a bit arent you?" They said not taking anything but a yes for an answer, and even when they were home they expected silence. I was too wierd for them, i liked theatre and makeup, girly things in their minds. I always hated them i think, or at least that's the feeling i always asocciate with them now. I was alone, really a wonder i wasnt taken by it, but i wasn't, I actually had to seek it, to go in it willingly. It always facinated me, the freaky, the other, so it wasn't very hard to not more information on it, luring it was the challange. But i must say, as to not decive you (headache laught) i am no longer the child their birthed, the fruit of their loins, no no no, i am not herman the unworthy, no i am but a fragment, my face and body shifting, i have his hatred, i have his fear and to be fair lonelines, but i did not steal it, no i mearly took what was offered, took his part, you could say i am an understudy (more headache laugh)

Actually there's nothing wrong with curating your experience of the world. I'm not saying never listen to opposing viewpoints. I'm not saying never leave your comfort zone, never stretch to grow. I'm saying I was once on a date with a cishet white man who said he thought it was childish to block people on social media because you can't just stop people from existing in the real world. I explained that I have ex friends blocked because it hurts me to see them.
It's silly, really. You can unfollow someone who posts things that upset you. You can stop being friends with someone who is cruel to you. You can choose not to finish a book that you started reading for fun but turned out to be dull. You don't owe the world your boredom, your discomfort, your upset. You just don't.
