What Yu-Gi-Oh! Means for many.
Don’t know how to start this. Not one for long writing or speeches.
But basically, Yu-Gi-Oh! was my childhood. Starting from middleschool and onward in the early 2000s. I was introduced to the show by my friend. And then afterword's I learned how to play the game by playing a gameboy game. Yugioh duelist tournament of champions of 2004 I believe.
After that it faded and I got obsessed with Pokemon for a while.
However when highschool came, I came home one day to find my mother (whos now since passed away) watching Yugioh on 4kids. (lol) And I sat there and watched it with her, having forgotten so much about it. And I began to play the games again on the gameboy. I never beat Reshef of Destruction. I wasn’t any kind of good player, but I loved to progress in the story. And my favorite games were capsule monsters, dice monsters, sacred cards and duelist of the roses.
Then one day, after my 15th birthday I believe, I found a manga of yugioh just sitting in the young adult section of my favorite library and the first page I open was Yuugi holding hands with Anzu at duelist kingdom. (lol) I then look at the back, and was shocked to see Yuugi was the same age as me at the start of the manga. So naturally I began to read it. I became suddenly obsessed and wanted to read more. And I got up to the part of millennium world. And suddenly I found shonen jump magazine and began buying them and subscribed to them to keep up with the manga.
During this time, I became aware of the ships. (Thiefshipping for the fucking win) The old websites such as Kokorononakayugioh website (Which is still up by the way) https://kokorononaka.net and began downloading mp3 music from the japanese version of the show and looking at released bankobans and then....fanfiction, doujins and roleplays.....By the way, I can scarily accurately roleplay any of the characters from the original series. XD
It became a part of my life so quickly. And collecting the cards became a hobby. I suddenly had something to comfort myself with. And trust the characters in the stories to get me through day to day problems. (I have autism. And my school was not very accepting of that. Nor were students)
Yugioh had been banned at one point and I didn’t know about it. And my cards were tossed into the garbage. I remember being called to the principles office because I had them and they were considered CONTRABAND. I still remember how I was looking into the garbage can and realized just how much the cards meant to me. How I could socialize by asking others to play the game with me. It was everything. And my mom knew this too. I took the cards out of the garbage and mom took me home.
To my surprise they brought it back, because too many people complained and apparently my actions had helped push it to be allowed back into school. And oddly, they began to have shonen jump arrive in their library. (I was allowed to have the cards they gave usually every month)
So thinking of all this, knowing how much it all means to me. I was fucking devastated to hear the news of Kazuki Sensei.
My immediate reaction was screaming. And I was in a group chat at the time and everyone was confused and concerned and I had to explain the news, only to find there wasn’t much of a reaction. Because they hadn’t been into it as much as I was. I cried. I cried for days. I didn’t want to talk to anyone and shut down. I very plainly told people to fuck off and leave me alone. I also worried for Little Kuriboh, the guy who does Yugioh abridged. I’ve known him since his name was CARDGAMESFTW in the old youtube days. I was worried because he is prone to depression like me and illness from it. As he has posted old videos such as “we’re still here vlogs”.
But he seems alright for now, and he knows the significance of his death. Nobody expected it. I had hoped that these covid years and celebrity deaths wouldn’t take someone so important to me. But it did. And I still don’t know how to respond to it. Perhaps I’m angry that Kazuki went alone out there. That he didn’t have a swim partner. Perhaps I’m sad that Yugioh may die out because of what happened. I really hope not. I really hope this only pushes people to bring back the life that the show and manga has given me.

Atem is kinda shy when you both first start dating
Cut the man some slack, he hasn't dated in about 3,000-5,000 years (depending on the dub or sub)
He doesn't particularly like PDA, and doesn't see a need to announce your relationship to his friends. He thinks they should "just know."
Obviously they don't, so Tea still hits on him and you get angry about it. Atem never notices when Tea hits on him and only knows about it when you point it out
He's quick to tell his friends about your relationship then. Joey teasingly asks him to prove it, and he wastes no time kissing you on the lips despite not liking PDA
It takes him a couple months to start getting comfortable with the relationship, and slowly gets more comfortable with PDA
He'll only go so far as hand holding and putting his arm around you, but it is progress
Behind closed doors though, I'd like to think he's a little clingy. If you need to go in another room for something he won't follow, he'll just wait for you. But he'll always want to cuddle or be touching you in some way
He prefers kisses on the cheek instead of the lips
He'd take you on such cute dates. He'd get the ideas either from Yugi, Bakura or social media (Joey and Tristian aren't exactly cute, and he wouldn't ask Tea about this)
He'd take you on picnic dates, take you to local events, he'll win you prizes at Kaiba Corp and go on any rides you want to go on and end the day with a kiss on the ferris wheel.
When you cuddle, he likes being the big spoon. He'll rub your back, scratch your back, whatever you want
He loves watching Tik Tok or Instagram reels or Youtube with you on your phone while you spoon. He'll periodically give you cheek kisses
I feel like Atem would be the first one to say "I love you" and he says it after every goodbye, every goodnight, every good morning, and every hello
If you two are away from each other, he always starts the conversation with a "how are you? how was your day?" text
His first priority is you. He loves you and he wants to make sure you're okay
He's also pretty chill with anything. If you're sick and look terrible, he's still going to want to be intimate. When you ask why, he'll kiss your cheek and give you a poetic sentence about loving you at your worst. Makes you tear up
Atem is also really good at listening to you and comforting you when something is wrong. He wishes he could duel all your problems away :(

i have posted about my au a couple of times, it's not specific to arc v though it involves yuya and yuri so i shall take this chance to ramble
to introduce. an excerpt of a ramble about my au: "i have my focus sort of split between yuri and yuya's yanhomo weirdness pov v.s. bakura trying to not kill punch beat the shit out of worship marry johan while anzu takes an irritated drag from her cigarette pov" so it's a whole Every Yugioh Crossover and a part of the premise is everyone is at least mildly to severely out of character johan and mokuba are quite different for instance. there aren't relevant arc v characters aside from the aforementioned two but i can mention some. also little extra designs
yugo is yuya's older half brother on yoko's side (likes motorcycles per her influence), they don’t visit each other often but they do talk regularly, yugo tries supporting yuya and being a proper big brother as much as he can. yuto is yuri's estranged older brother but yuri has no memory of him because he was too young when they were separated and yuri was adopted by leo (yes reiji and reira are his siblings. the akabas continue to be the most dysfunctional family ever) yuzu and gongenzaka are yuya's best friends per usual. yuri ran away with yuya for their survival since it's no good to stay in the same spot with a billionaire ceo guy (seto kaiba) tracking them and a jail escapee (kyosuke kiryu) but also just because he wants to have yuya alone
(yuzu and gongenzaka look about the same so just the yu’s and yo)
i frame my au yuri with a lot of yandere shit just because i think it's fun and he does stalk yuya + sometimes treats him like something of a boyfriend but he isn't really in love with yuya? yuri loves and admires himself above all but he sees himself in yuya. literally physically because he thinks they have similar faces and yuri has always unconsciously wanted something of a normal life and family so seeing yuya have that meant projecting on yuya became his favorite hobby. and now because of their situation they're in he uses this new forced closeness with someone for the first time to act out everything he's never experienced (a friend, a parent, a lover)
despite how much yuya might be creeped out or uncomfortable, since yuri has been the real reason he's been able to survive, he feels like he doesn't really have the right to reject yuri in any sense, by all means he's dependent on him in this situation and he can't just leave and go to anyone else unless he wants to put them in danger. also helps that he's scared shitless of him both because yuri is armed, merciless, and he would hurt yuya himself if he wanted to as he only needs yuya alive beyond that yuri doesn't really care how he is physically or mentally. the arrangement is a bit of a nightmare though coming to understand the way he thinks and acts, yuya genuinely pities yuri for the way that he is so he wants to help him be more normal and genuinely befriend him in return for everything he's done to protect him and starts to treats this as something of an obligation but yuri makes it hard to do anything nice for him
(since yuri is a solider baby and views socialization through a power hierarchy he sees these attempts of being kind and friendly as yuya acting above yuri, which he obviously doesn't take very well since he refuses to be below anyone except for leo, his dad. the only reason yuri acts the familiar way he does with yuya is because he sees them on equal footing since in his perspective yuya is essentially an extension him but he still by default treats yuya as someone below him, so yuya can't reciprocate acts of familiarity without yuri being the one to initiate them)
also the au is a future diary au. forgot to mention. yuya and yuri are two of twelve people trying to kill each other and have diaries that tell the future. it follows nothing about future diary outside of that basic premise, yuya and yuri are not the main characters.

I had a fat crush on like everyone, Mai was kind of my awakening to liking girls, I think I was definitely the most attached to Bakura and Yugi (I didn’t have a preference for if they were possessed or not)
but I could seriously go on about Kaibas character arcs for hours and I love Joey too (his stupid accent in the 4kids dub is the best, and I was surprised to find out he kinda talks like that in the manga too? Also the hair style switch in that one chapter of the manga was so cool, but I digress)
Im also behind on GX and 5DS and any other spin-off , I’ve been meaning to watch them , I’ll let you know when I do, for that, could I take up residence here as 🦜 anon?

the more i think about it, the more certain i am that dm’s bakura and malik are easily the best ygo antagonists/villains
malik has a huge importance plot-wise and can actually play the damn card game. the decks he uses, first slifer and then ra, are cleverly managed and both give the good guys quite the scare. the typical revenge-oriented villain trope does determine much of his motivation, but the interesting twist is how he actually strives for groundless payback after putting all the blame on the pharaoh — he needs revenge for revenge’s sake, something to give him purpose and keep him going, until he’s so into it that he can no longer tell the difference. his gravekeeper background and the trauma he suffered at young age both make a lot of sense, as does the way he acquired the rod. his family, ishizu and rishid, do a great job in complementing and completing his character. besides, he’s one of the few (only?) ygo villains that act fucked up (real evil, i give him that) and get plausible retribution arcs afterwards — a good wrap-up with realistic, justified pacing is what most of them lack (ekhem yuri, ekhem quattro).
bakura is the major villain of the whole dm (it would appear) — and i love the way he’s absent through a good half of the whole plot anyway. his character is introduced in pegasus’s island, then he plays his part at battle city and returns only for the final arc, showing some very nice long-term pacing (just the way the millennium eye shows up after a long time to serve its purpose). the ryo-dark bakura-zorc-thief king set up makes a surprising lot of sense and explains a good part of the plot. the “evil non-human destruction entity” part is a bit cheap, but i can let it slide because it’s rather congruous. bakura’s motivations are really my favorite — his issue with the pharaoh is a tragic conflict, making his drive both understandable and condemnable. his personality and emotions adds a lot to the mix (as does being near-immortal): he’s not very goal-oriented and likes to do what he pleases, which is perfectly reflected in the battle city duel against yugi. it’s a shame that he gets annihilated without at least a proper death scene, but i guess it is rather deserved. either way, he’s the only major villain in ygo that is so well-developed (or at all) and has so much in common with a human being, especially if we count ryo in. the fact that he sucks at the card game makes it even better for the chaotic-evil “do i look like i have a plan” character he is, though they could have let him play more than, like, three duels in total.
being two revenge seeking antags with very different motivations, backgrounds and priorities — as well as very different endings to their respective stories — they do a fantastic job with forming the main villain body in dm. the personality split thing also works vastly different for the two of them, adding to the interesting dynamic. when i say that battle city is the best duel monsters arc and that they carried the battle city arc, well, i mean it. their interactions, ship it or not, are a great thing in dm. besides, there’s a sense of completion in the ends they meet that doesn’t exclude the bitter-sweetness of an open ending and a feeling of making sense, of plausibility that many other ygo antags fail to reach, even complexity of character aside.

Haven't watched OG YuGiOh in years but omg you are so right about Tristan 😭
Fr that boy is such a ride or die and the biggest supporter and literally carries the squad on his back constantly. Tristan is the team protector, a voice of reason, a strong, steadfast, and steady rock for them to lean on. All he wants to do is help support and protect his friends and because he's not a duelist he has to sit on the side and let them do their thing and gets pushed to the backburner but that doesn't stop him from trying to help anyway if there's an available route for him to do so.
Like the whole Mokuba situation during the Pegasus duel (which according to my limited knowledge of the manga he does his little Metal Gear Tristan shit during the equivalent of episode 28 literally my favorite episode so like way earlier which is wild to my anime dominant brain), he undertakes that optional sidequest because he thinks it could help make the situation better for Yugi if Pegasus doesn't hold all of the proverbial cards in the event that he can reclaim Seto and Mokuba's bodies. Which of course he does manage to rescue Mokuba, but therein lies the Yami Bakura shit. That bitch is trying to get Mokuba too but for more nefarious reasons, and Tristan the absolute king fuckin HOODWINKS this bitch. Like straight has him believing he's gonna just hand Mokuba's body over, and thus he throws Mokuba's soulless little baby body at him, karate chops him in the neck, and fucking trebuchets the Millennium Ring into the woods like a frisbee. And Yami Bakura is D O W N. Literally everybody thought he was straight up gone for the longest time afterwords. Tristan really did that. Plus, he did it to stop him from controlling bby gud boi Bakura 🥺. A+ friend right there my guys.
Not to mention all the other shit he did for the squad during Duelist Kingdom alone, lest we forget the time he tried to punch a boulder that even though was fake, they thought it was real at the time and for the sake of
1: avenging Bakura who they thought was fuckin dead because of the boulder balloon
and
2: trying to save Yugi and Téa as well as himself so they could make it out to find Joey and make sure he was okay.
Like fr he was coming to Joey's defense the entire season. A trend of course that would continue the entire anime 😌👍
Also side note: if I needed somebody to beat up some guys for me you better believe I'd be calling Tristan. I'd sooner call up Tristan to punch a guy in the face than Joey or even Seto. Assuming the bastard would even take my call at all much less actually show up 🙄 Because seriously Tristan has a better track record for beating people up successfully than anybody else in that damn show. Mans took down a whole ass group of Rare Hunters BY HIMSELF in season 2 and Joey got his ass fuckin kicked by them. Granted he had Téa around at the time to protect and worry about but we're not talking about them rn This man would have gladly thrown hands with both Odion and even fuckin Yami Marik if he'd been given an opportunity, I have full confidence in that thought.
Also let us repeat that he fuckin took Yami Bakura O U T in season 1. Literally nobody else could ever. And that's not even the last time he’d throw hands with the man either, Tristan straight clocks Thief King Bakura in season 5 and like even impresses him in the process and gets himself possessed because he thinks Tristan could be useful to him like 😩😩😩 he has more run-ins with Yami Bakura than like anybody else on the show and like majority of the time comes out successfully safe or is even straight up helped out by the guy. Anyone else could never.
I'm calling Tristan if I need to be bailed out of a tussle.
If I rant any longer I'll never stop, so yes, um, I love Tristan. Joey may be my favorite character and the love of my life but Tristan is the best boy and he deserves the entire world and everyone takes him for granted and devalues him and he deserves a nap and a sandwich for carrying the group on his damn back for 236 episodes. Thank you and goodnight.

Ishizu for the character ask game
Damn girl... All of them?
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
I love Ishizu mostly because of how she treats Kaiba. She's so snarky and straight forward towards him and just from their first interaction we get what her personality is all about. A no nonsense woman that is still caring, but just wants to get things done in an efficient way / the way the necklace gave her.
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
How on her duel with Kaiba, she primarily uses graveyard effects (that honestly weren't the best, but because things were still getting figured out I'll give it a pass.) with very few monsters and she still almost cooks him. Do you know how bad Ishizu cards used to be? They weren't the best at all! That duel is honestly one of my favorites, I hate Blue Eyes players.
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
She never interacted with Yami Bakura

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Puss and Boots. Only as an ally for him though.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Double Lariat by Agoaniki (I think???). It just sounds Ishizu core.
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
We both have two brothers. A big one and a little one.
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I love for and breathe in Mom-shizu
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
I don't like how some people make her either really dismissive of Marik's problems, really over invested in his problems, or over sexualize her.
The first two are a problem because Ishizu has been shown to give Marik the space he needs to think, and distancing yourself from a frankly abusive person is a pretty normal thing to do. She never abandoned Marik, she still loves him. She just gives him when needed.
I don't even have to explain why I hate the last thing.

Yes.

No. Most likely loose acquaintances.

I've already said this, but I love the idea of her seeing Yami Bakura's backstory and feeling so bad for him.

Ishizu's interactions with Téa are some of the sweetest ever. Téa is always so worried about Yami and Ishizu is there to comfort her 🥺. It's so cute.

There is none.

Mai. I may not like them shipped together, but boy oh boy do I think they'd be great friends.

I like when she's shipped with Yami Bakura. I have only read one bad fic of them.
I don't like when she's dismissive or over involved with Marik.

Honestly, a lot of how I characterize Ishizu has inspiration from Clawdeen Wolf. But only when it comes to how they treat she friends and family.

Using this as an opportunity to talk about museumshipping.
Since Yami Bakura and Ishizu have different diets (Ishizu doesn't eat meat, Yami Bakura does), she does most of the cooking. Bakura, however, hates this. So they came to an agreement that Bakura will learn how to cook more than just eggs, and Ishizu will expand her diet to include eggs.

Spiderwebs Pt.5: Nice Day for a Wisteria Wedding
I must say it’s nice to use things popping up in current chapters as a guide. We did Leo last time, this time something about 1085 made me want to look at the one, the only Don Sai a little deeper. It’s a simple idea. We start ringing the wedding bells as a really sudden turn in Dressrosa that catches you off guard. It all makes sense when it comes together, but I remember this arc week-to-week and no one saw this outcome coming. Looking back though, it’s short and sweet but hits a lot of the notes I’ve been interested in lately. Forgot all about this bit of Baby 5 getting there through misinterpreting a series of earlier lines. Come to think of it too...Baby 5 could arguably fit into the Tamataebako thread by virtue of this happening next to Lao G who does rely on some similar concepts.
We already have talked about the Grand Fleet captains being a piece of the whole. Showing something that could fill a gap but having something that makes them a better subordinate captain. Don Sai is the tricky one. He fills that role of character-wise being okay. But fate and prior obligations are why he couldn’t quite be a proper crewmate. Worth mentioning there’s the whole Kano Kingdom element too. Not just the name similarity, but they seem to be the one that’s like, picking up an allied country through this. Orlumbus resigned, but the Happo Navy seems a little more official.
You want the shortest version of the undertone I see with Kiku? She’s like Baby 5, but waaaaay better at hiding it. Too proud to be that desperate, lets it go unspoken. She’s so prodigious partially out of the drive to keep up and not be a burden. Remember Baby 5 and Monet already have very similar motivations behind following Doflamingo. Doflamingo himself was kind of groomed into this role by Trebol but that’s a story for another day. It’s a running theme of how far people will lose themselves out of desperation. Not having anywhere else to go, rejection, persecution, abandonment.
Even now, this feels like such a jarring inclusion in Dressrosa...though to be fair that would kind of play into my main criticism of the arc. It needed to flow more like Wano and Whole Cake did; never really mention it much but structurally the Seducing Woods serve the same purpose as Bakura Town. Seeing Egghead now though, I can see where the idea to scatter plots and make them come together started from. We talk more about arcs that were likely always in the original five-year plan, but Dressrosa really feels like it didn’t need to be. Still, Sai & Baby 5 were such a unique moment that caught us off guard. I would love tying it off with something building off that in the present and all the tools are in place for it to.
There’s no real way to make this a natural segue because their only connection is both appearing in 1085. I wanted to include Fujitora because there’s not much to say. It’s just straightforward. This gambling intro is still my favorite. He’s another unique element that’s cast a long shadow. We see now he and Ryokugyu are very much opposites as well along this line of heirarchy vs. compassion. One that is a really obvious jidaigeki reference. The blind swordsman Zatoichi.
Since we’ll assuredly have the time soon, probably going to give that allusion it’s own post. But seeing him take advantage of the chaos to free slaves, the way he acts in Dressrosa...let’s put it this way. This was an example of Luffy winning someone over with charm by accident. It worked in his favor big time, but he stumbled into being the hero of Dressrosa. My whole thing is that Wano is refining this lesson; learning how to use words and gestures to accomplish big things without fighting.

very funny to me that there are literally no canon ships in yugioh. takahashi was like "ok i'm gonna set up the barebones for some ships" and then he just. never came back to them ever. the peachshipping scene in duelist kingdom is so cute and then it just never happens again. iconic. in my mind puzzle is canon tho so i'll go w/ that <3

My happily ever after for them:
i guess they cure komaeda's cancer and get him to a more functional but still insane mental state and then they hang out and bother each other forever. they get married someday and komaeda still says the usual komaeda shit about "wow i'm so happy right now, i wonder who's going to die because of this :)"

OH BOY WOW. funny story!!!!!!!!
I can distinctly remember the first time I got into ygo when I was in 6th grade and I. hated Yugi/Yami. I thought they were both Ugly and Dumb. I liked Bakura and Marik and Mokuba and that was basically IT. I had some Feelings about Kaiba but that primarily came from relating him to every single Linkin Park song. I first read the s0 manga during the summer between 6th and 7th grade and that was. the first time I thought Yami was cool actually, but only THAT yami and only him. I waited on bated breath for Bakura to show up in the last volume.
so when I found out my friend was interested in rping Bakura I was excited bc!!! I absolutELY wanted to see how they played my favorite anime character ever!!!! but it also made me kind of sad bc I. really wanted to rp my Special Interest again. I wanted to not only engage with ygo I wanted to DO it. but I didn't have any other muses :( :( I love Mokuba but I'm not. going to play a 12 year old as my main muse that's. like as a fun little side character he's GREAT, but I wouldn't even be able to comfortably follow some of my mutuals if he was my main muse.
but I had fully resparked my Interest so I decided to reread the manga from s0 and
it was like. instant.
the weird kid who desperately tried to be nice to everyone even though they were clearly, outwardly treating him like garbage. the sorrow and rage swallowed down and ignored. the insane hair and eyeliner and accessories and customized school uniform.... that's the only clothing he's comfortable in. I was like, bro. I understand this character so much more than I think I was comfortable admitting when I was younger. bc it meant admitting that *I* was being picked on and unpopular and... yea h.
idk idk he just !!!! really connected with me in an Interesting way I had never appreciated before. and then I got to the museum chapter and there's this one tiny little detail about his shadow game with Shadi that made my headcanon of Yugi being trans really Click and solidify and it instantly made him my favorite character. even above Bakura. then I started really appreciating Puzzleshipping and the way that Yami doesn't just aid and guide Yugi, but learns and grows from him so much more and
man. idk. I literally remember saying to myself out loud, "how did I not appreciate him more ??? Yugi is actually SUCH an interesting character ???????"

"I would like a tarot card reading from you, madam Abella!"
Abella's eyes widen at the way you're addressing her. A smile blooms on her face and she gets ready to give you a tarot card reading. No one has ever addressed her in such a manner before.
"Why thank you. I am excited to do a reading for you. I see you're looking for romance."
She gestures to the stacked square shaped cushions you'll be seated at. While taking your seat she waves her hand and her items on the table disappear after the puff of pink smoke is gone. All that is left on the table is a stack of pink tarot cards. She shuffles them and in front of your very eyes they levitate around you two in a slow vortex.
"I'll need you to pick two cards."
You do as she says once the cards are lined up on the table in front of you. They're glowing pink. Once you've picked two cards she has you pick out another card but this time its different. The hearts on her face begin glowing. A rose shaped symbol is on the floor surrounding you two.
"For true love to be, we'll need to figure out who it will be. Do be sure to take careful attention to which card you choose. You'll know which one to choose, your heart will guide you."
You look over the cards hovering your hand over several, none felt right until you came across two cards. You decide to choose the one which made your heart feel warm inside. Abella thinks you did right by following your heart. The rest of the deck is shuffled in her hands and she places the stack beside her. One card is glowing pink while the other two look normal.
Abella hovers her hand over the glowing card, closing her eyes. Your brown eyes follow Abella's to the card. It's now glowing white. Abella waves her hand across it, causing it to spin. When she has her hand gently cupped over it, the card stops spinning. You look around as both of your locks of hair float gently in the air. Your auburn bangs are floating upwards while Abella's long dark curls are in the air. The card reveals a male with soft features and big brown eyes. His hair is snow white and his smile is very kind.
"This is Ryou Bakura.. he is a gentle compassionate soul. A gentlemen with a friendly demeanor. He is easy to talk to and very honest as well."
Abella's eyes are closed, she is focusing. She then opens her eyes with a smile.
"He admires games as much as you do and a huge fan of reading too. Not only do you two share similar hobbies but you two would also form a deep emotional bond. He's a romantic too so he'll enjoy your pursuit for it. The relationship would be besties turned friends."
You take in all her words with delight. Your brown eyes wander over to the image of Bakura again before Abella gets your attention on the next cards. She knows its a lot to take in. She flips over a card revealing an image of a regal woman seated on a luxurious chair holding a scepter. She wears a huge crown and is seated outside.
"The Empress. This card has a variety of meanings but in romance she symbolizes sensuality and a deep fulfilling connection between you and your true love."
She gives you a moment to take in the meaning behind the card. The fortune teller finds it romantic, she hopes you're looking forward to your next card. She flips over the next pink tarot card. It reveals a picture of a robbed individual wearing a triple crown with two keys at the feet, there is two monks facing the person at both sides.
"The Hierophant means a relationship that is effortless and easy, a relationship where you can relax. You two will share similar beliefs and values. Your partner and yourself are two equals who are best friends as well as romantic partners. You can't imagine life without them and vice versa."
You think the dynamic is sweet and nod in understanding of her words. Abella is happy for you, she expresses it with words of joy. She then asks what else you'd be interested in. You ask for a tea reading and her face lights up. She isn't often asked for tea readings. She waves her hand across the table and a puff of smoke appears again. When the cloud disappears you notice a white teapot with pink and red heart prints. The teacup and saucer are pink but the interior of the cup has various designs you're not familiar with.
"And what kind of tea would you prefer?"
"Chamomile would be nice."
"I agree its such a relaxing tea, especially on dates." She giggles preparing your tea. The container appears in front of her after the snap of a finger.
“I'd like for you to think of a question. One about romance or true love. It must be a clear and concise question. A romantic answer is what you seek if I'm not mistaken."
You're served your tea cup in front of you. Abella instructs you to contemplate your question while sipping your tea. The tea must be the perfect temperature while you do so. Abella made sure all goes accordingly to plan. The hearts on her face are glowing while her eyes are closed. You finally decide on a question. She is reflecting on her intentions and begins transferring her energy into the tea leaves before you drink.
"What would be my stance in a relationship? Loving or Besties perhaps?" You think to yourself as you're finishing up the chamomile tea.
You leave enough liquid in the cup for the reading. Abella gently picks up the teacup and saucer with the yellow liquid in it. She uses her left hand to swirl the tea left to right three times. Slowly the fortune teller carefully inverts the cup over the pink saucer. She closes her eyes for one minute, you notice the hearts on her face are glowing so it was intentional. Once she opens her eyes she rotates the cup three times again. She turns the cup upright, positioning the handle south.
She obverses remains of the tea leaves inside the cup. The aroma was very relaxing. She reveals an image of a dog at the top of the teacup. Abella looks happy for you, she nods her head in approval.
"This cute image means you're the top dog." She giggles. "You have the leadership role, can mean confidence, or having success in whatever it is you asked."
It was understandable why you're so happy with the result as it means your next relationship will be successful. You give Abella your thoughts before she asks you what else can she help you with. You point out the mini perfumes nearby. The fortune teller looks over to the shelf behind with a grin.
"You're interest in perfume? Which one interests you?"
You ask for the "peony bliss" perfume. Abella grabs a round golden colored bottle. The front has several floral designs and the lid looks like a round diamond.
"This perfume will have your true love asking for a dance with you if your feelings are requited."
"How does the perfume work?"
"All it requires is two sprays. Nothing more, nothing less."
You spray yourself with the perfume a couple times. It's a very lovely scent. It does smell of peony's but it also smells of lotus blossoms, fresh water, and sweet cream. It makes a wonderful combination. It reminds you of nostalgic feelings you experience when you're being silly around your friends.
"I like the scent." You say.
"I'm glad you do. It will be worth it for the results later, but do remember if it doesn't work out with Bakura you shouldn't be disheartened. Love can take time or sometimes it happens unexpectedly.”
Abella walks over to a spacious area by her table. She gestures you to follow. The hearts underneath her lashes are glowing neon pink again. On the ground a rose symbol appears and its glowing the same color as the hearts on Abella's face. You soon notice a white portal at the center.
"This will lead you to your true love. Remember all that I've told you. Best of luck."
You thank her before stepping into the white portal. It teleports you to the center of Domino city. It's late afternoon before sunset. Nothing out of the ordinary seems to be happening. You decide to wander the streets until you see a game shop nearby. You simply couldn't resist the temptation for some new table top games to play, perhaps you may also find some d&d figures too. Outside of the game shop you notice three men; a blonde, brunette, and a silver haired boy. Upon closer inspection you recognize one of them as Bakura. It was surprising to see him in person. You weren't sure if you'd actually get to meet him.
The boys are observing a poster outside the game shop for, "Monster World". A game similar to dungeons and dragons. They hope to buy the newest figures that will be released soon. Bakura's friends leave mentioning they promised their friend Anzu to help move furniture for her. Bakura is left behind admiring the poster. You also look at the poster causing him to make light chat with you.
"Good evening, you admire monster world as well?"
He has a very soft voice with a British accent. He is giving you a welcoming smile. His eyes look genuinely interested in what you have to say.
"I don't know too much but it does interest me. I love d&d and many tabletop games."
"Then you'll love monster world. It is very similar to d&d but the game is set up differently from d&d and there is quite a bit of rules."
Bakura continues to tell you about the game, how he has such a huge collection of figures and enjoys playing it with all of his friends. You two then get into a discussion about d&d and other games (especially duel monsters). It was nice finding out he also enjoys video games and books. Bakura was interested in hearing the games and books you enjoy reading. Turns out Bakura doesn't mind any genre for books as long as it isn't horror.
After the pleasant one hour conversation he offers a treat, hoping you'd be interested in the date with him. You gladly accept such a wonderful offer since he's been a gentlemen so far. At the shop you two went for your favorite treat he opened the door for you, was polite to the worker, and spoke so properly throughout the time you spent with him.
After enjoying your favorite treats together you two walked to the park together. Bakura is very friendly and has an overall kind demeanor which makes it so easy to befriend him. You two end up seated at a park bench chatting about sci-fi books. By then the sun went down and the park lights are on. Bakura gets an idea and grabs your hand leading you in front of the park fountain. He bows like a prince, holding out his hand to you.
"My lady." He said with a cute smile on his face.
He's secretly admiring your brown eyes, they remind him of a beautiful amber. You two slow dance together under the moonlight in a comforting silence. Bakura's brown eyes look like such a nice shade of chocolate they’re sparkling under the moonlight. They're loving and filled with admiration. Your own brown eyes return the loving look.
He smells your perfume and it makes his heart rate go up. The scent reminds him of weddings he's been to. How the flower girls throw petals over the walk way. It also reminds him of spring. He begins blushing at these thoughts but not as much as he is looking at your lovely features. Your auburn short hair really brought out your eyes, it swishes with your dancing. Bakura towered over you since he's tall but he admired how small your hands are compared to his, it reminded him of two love interests in romance novels he's read before.
When you're both done dancing he fixes some loose strands of your hair. He blushes as he realizes he wants to kiss you. It would be such a nice end to a wonderful date. He slowly leans in giving you time to reject him if he makes you uncomfortable. His eyes light up once he realizes you're leaning in as well. It was under the stunning moonlight you share a delightful kiss with Bakura.
Afterwards you two share some loving words and he offers to walk you back. You decide to have him walk you back to the center of downtown since you wish to visit Abella again before heading home for the night. After another promised date he kisses your hand before bidding you goodnight. Abella's tent isn't too far and you enter hoping she isn't busy.
You notice she is placing red boxes on some shelves, they're wooden. She looks pleased to see you and greets you. Your name leaves her lips with a big smile, she knows what day you must've had from the smile on your own face. You tell her a bit about the date at her table, seated on her stack of square shaped cushions again.
"I'm glad the date turned out so well between you and Bakura. You're sure to be set on a path for true love with a gentlemen such as Bakura. He has such a gentle heart, he'll treat you right. I'm sure of it."
Abella goes over to some planters across the room to pick you a present. From the planter she picks the perfect flower to present you. She turns around to offer you a blue lily.
"This is for you, friend. May you and Bakura find the happiness, confidence, and loyalty you both deserve. I can see that you’ll both be the best of friends as well as lovers.”
You thank her again and she hugs you before you leave. The blue lily symbolizes trust, loyalty, and spiritual awareness. Abella knew the romance you two share would be life long. The trust and loyalty symbolizing your relationship and the spiritual awareness representing Bakura for he is in tune with spirits due to his past. He would never fear the darkness again for he had your love to aid him in all his times of need.

Steve and Ghost head to Mexico to try and escape the memories of New Orleans for a little longer but end up in yet more trouble.
2. Waiting for Euphoria (Yuri!!! On Ice, Victuuri, 66.2k, rated Mature)
Yuuri Katsuki and his flatmate Phichit Chulanont are broke ex-students who are facing the retail hell of the holidays while trying to break into the competitive arenas of entertainment. After a mistake with a Wanted advert, Yuuri ends up auditioning for a style of dance that is most certainly not ballet and as it turns out...he's kinda good at it! However, trying to keep his night-work separate from the rest of his life becomes a damn near impossible task when the Mr. Perfect who comes to his store regularly starts showing up at the club and seems to take a shine to his stage persona!

alright babes, it’s finally happening.
Five years after being here, I’m finally gonna sit down and tell you the tale of Lisa Green
So when I was 13, I made my first OC which is my Sonic OC that I still cherish to this day, and there was a bunch of DBZ OCs that came next and this was all the summer of that year, somewhere in the fall my sister and I came up with Lisa and Ivy, which were literally just us but we smacked them in a All our favorite characters work and go to this magic school we got invited to by a mysterious figure and I STILL have the notebook with the class schedule with all the characters who went to the school and who was a teacher and Slenderman just kinda popped up at random cause we loved the version of Slendy in the YGO Abridged Marik and Yami Marki plays Slender videos and he was just an eternal joke who stuck with us till gosh, I turned 16? he just sorta dropped off the face of our storyline at somepoint but he was a beloved part of it while he was in it.
So no matter how much Ivy was meant to be part of everything, my sister is an artists, not a writer, so Ivy ended up tapping out except for a few major stories, but I had Lisa go to the Sonic universe cuz it was my first fandom and she got to hang out with all my favorite hedgehogs and company and then to the DBZ universe which was really her first major growth arc, learning to be more confident in herself and to have a better view of herself which honestly did so much for my own being at the time and even now when I look back at the storyline. It was also her first major loss, having been forcibly torn away from her adoptive family and thrown five years to the future from the Cell Saga to the Majin Saga and then again when it was all over.
She created her base world "The Island" after this to let her loved ones all visit and give her a way to see them at any time without having to be forced to be contained in their worlds by force.
Lisa and Ivy ended up having unexplained adventures we didnt do a lot with, mostly jsut because we didnt think to do more other than "This happened" and it was so many shows we were into for like a month and then forgot about like Fairy Tale, ATLA, and ,I think we did Black Butler if only the goofs of us trying to take Ciel and Elizabeth away cause we favored them and then there were some I had Lisa go to and did some stuff but never did more than the intro event like Warrior Cats and MLP, and it was like that for two years
The two biggest plots I remember doing are the most recent was a Yugioh fic and a FullMetal Alchemist fic, both of which have legit fics albeit unfinished.
YGO: The Next Dimension was the YGO universe collided with Lisa and Ivy's home universe and nullified their powers and they ended up doing a Full House situation where they all lived together in a big house and we never really explained how that happened, but Slender man was in this alot too cause we mixed the canon YGO and Abridged YGO characterizations so there was like. All the normal characters. Then there was Abriged Marik and Yami Bakura and. I hadn't watched the Abridged series so Yami Marik AKA Melvin was sometimes a child and sometimes insane and murderous. But I love him a lot cuz him Mokuba and Lisa just sort of attached themselves together and it was the best thing
Uhh it was a lot of goofin, Marik and Yami Bakura set up a Fake version of the Slender man game with everyone lost in the woods to find paper but then Slendy actually showed up but he was mostly just throwing people together and trying to make everyone leave, Marik Yami Bakura and Melvin all hung out in the basement of the giant house everyone stayed in to lay poker but they had no money, just a lifetime supply of goldfish crackers to use as currency and Lisa Yami Yugi and Seto would all go down to play once in awhile. There was a cheesy love triangle with Lisa Seto and Yami Yugi cuz I was a lovesick fool and I made them punch each other cuz drama and there was a lot of stuff in there but eventually twenty-ish years passed and then the worlds were separated and reset to how they had been prior and Lisa had a whole mental break down cuz Yami Yugi had just proposed to her right when it happened
After Ivy literally slapped the sense back into Lisa, she got sucked into the FMA universe and that's an entire 30 chapters of my most proud achievement and it's Lisa trying to just follow the plot of the story, she falls for Ed and Winry cause I discovered I was bi and poly during the writing of, Lisa has a dark copy named Lillian who sort of just vibes for most of the plot but pulls a Chrysalis and replaces herself with Lisa during the wedding in a plot to literally take over the world and then the multiverse and THEN destroy everything and Lisa and her have this big huge epic showdown and Lisa has to face her own demon and Kill her and it takes a huge hit on her emotional state which has gotten so much better in the 5 years she'd been in the world.
But then Lillian is revived by some scientist who mistake her for a Homunculus and she and Lisa do some body swapping back and forth until Ed and the gang figure out where its happening and rescue Lisa-In-Lillian's-resurrected-body and then Lillian ends up slowly becoming a better person by finding reasons to live in the gang she's created of Chimeras as she sort of over takes Greed's old hideout as well as being watched over by Izumi Curtis, then later watching over Lisa, Ed and Winry's descendants after they all pass on and she actually chooses to stay there for a hell of a long time.
Upon returning to the Island, which it had only be minutes since Lisa had returned to the Island post the slap of sense, which time does not operate normally there anyways, Lisa has to deal with the consequences of not talking with her now-ex-fiance Yami Yugi/Atem about how she's now married and he's not doing so well either and it's a whole saga of its own, but it does get settled with the two of them being just friends and having their own relationships
And that's when the New Heroes stuff happens so hooray!!! that's a condensed version of 11 years worth of plot

This Ryou Bakura/ Yami Bakura amv got me into RED back in high school. If ya'll have read the og Yu-Gi-Oh manga and Duelist, ya'll know. If not, let's just say its wayyy darker than the 4kids anime we grew up with and a lot of stuff was censored. All the crap Yami Bukura put poor Ryou through, Yami was super creepy and throwing out death punishments left and right, but the people deserved it. That was even before the card game was introduced!

I know, I know, Inuyasha is basic and over memed to death, but it's still very close to my heart. It was my first anime in middle school and is very close to my heart, say what you will, but I love the dub. I've re-watched the series 5 times before The Final Act aired, I watched it every week both in subbed and dubbed. I've read the manga online years ago after the original anime ended cuz I had to know what happened! I bought the VizBigs and have a couple of the anti-manga which I hope to finish collecting someday, have other merch and games too.
I'll even share that I used the instrumental version of "Dearest" while walking down the isle for my wedding. Why? The song fit my husband and me so well, we had been through so much together and our love only grew stronger. Even while we were apart, we never stopped thinking of each other.

Eternal Snow always hits me with heavy nostalgia. Do I always cry while singing it? Of course, I do. I always come back here in winter to listen to this beautiful song. I remember watching the whole series on YouYube in high school after reading the manga. The story really sticks with you and inspiring, no matter what your dream is.

This amv I think best summarizes Kai Chisaki, Overhaul perfectly as a character. He has such a twisted mind, but that's part of the reason he was such a great villain, and his style/quirk made him such a bad-ass villain.
The way Pops found Kai as a boy, alone, covered in filth and I imagine he was hungry, always made me feel as if we were missing something from his past before the latest chapters came out. He wanted more than anything to replay the man who saved him, rebuilding the Shie Hassaikai's former glory and reputation along with returning people quirkless. Might have saved so many lives who were eventually lost, but at the end of the day, he still choose the darkest route and solution.
"You have no place here", hearing those words from Pops, his father figure, that's probably what finally pushed him to do everything he did. Ignoring Pops wish and taking matters into his own hands, its brief, but it hurt him, he's shocked before recollecting himself and putting Pops into a coma.
Kai’s final scream makes me cry every time because you just know that’s when he realized he’s lost literally everything he ever had, his quirk, the ability to fix Pops, the Shie Hassaikai his only home, and the quirk erasing bullets and serum, his plan that's been pouring so much time and who knows how long working on.

I haven't said it often on here at least, haha. But MDZS is one of my favorite BL anime, danmei, and manhua I've been obsessed with since 2020.
If you haven't watched MDZS, or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, I highly recommend it. The world building, music, the characters, the animation and raw feelings it pulls out of you.
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's love is only a part of the series, the depth of their feelings cannot be matched by anything after what they’ve gone through together. No boundaries to their relationship and not even death stops their love.
Lan Zhan let go of everything to protect Wei Ying and tried to feel the pain he felt. They went through life and death together. It was literally them against the world. Even though they had no one by their side, they were with each other.
I still have to catch-up with The Untamed... XD I always play their song, "WANGXIAN" before "Mourning for Love."
