Found a friend on my way to class! Totally worth missing the start of lecture to make sure she got out of danger, even if she wasn't very happy about me trying. Just look at those fangs poised and ready to bite me, though I doubt she would unless I really pressured her; she was pretty sluggish from the cold so all she did were some threat displays until I managed to get her on the leaf
+ bonus blurry pic that made me laugh

Introducing my beloved spider mama, Phoebe, and her daughter, Jewel!! She’s based off of my real pet jumper who recently had babies. They were so precious, but I unfortunately did not have the means and resources necessary of raising any of them, so I had to let them go. But it inspired me to make one into a character, thus Jewel was born 💚
The anthro form design was inspired by 0blivionseeker’s spider OC Elyse (who I absolutely adore aaaaa)
And Jewel’s design was inspired by Lucas the Spider <3

Found a big Bold Jumping Spider in one of the bird pens today, and released her in the raspberry thicket, where the birds will not be able to eat her. Hopefully her children protect my raspberries in the coming weeks!

my little sling is here early!!! aaa!!! how cute is this little fella!!!!
they really got these dudes names right in calling them bold, this lil friend is so different from the zebra and common jumping spiders I've encountered! so calm and curious and chill 🥺 they're already building a little home nest after just a day, and keep looking up at me and doing that cute little head tilt 😭 I love them aauugh
no name yet and I won't know the sex until they grow up a bit!! hoping for a girl bc they are the bigger ones 💪

Letter to my male bold jumping spider: a poem--
I know you are very small
And I am very big
But I hope when you see me, blurry in the distance
I am the kind hands that brought you in from the cold
When I saw you curled up, dying in the breezeway staircase of my snowy apartment.
I hope you see me as the coincidence that brought you fruitflies and a warm place to stay.
You seem mature, so I hope you live as long as you're willing and as long as your life span will allow, in this unique, unnatural experience. I hope you never feel too small. I hope you see me as something of a friendly presence. I hope you die warm and full. I am too scared to hold you right now, but I love you. I see you as a friend.
