I do wanna say with all the criticism towards what happened and more discourse/discussions that I’m sure are gonna happen-it’s important to remember Ashton is not a man. I’m already seeing posts about Fearne losing her storyline to Ashton and whilst you may feel slighted for that-it’s not misogyny. Ashton’s “main character syndrome” atm is not a man stealing spotlight from a woman and it’s important to make sure your criticism doesn’t say or imply that. When you bring up Fearnes femininity against Ashton ask yourself why-Ashton isn’t a man and has no structural privileges over Fearne in fact it’s more so the opposite when you take in the class both characters come from (also the fact Ashton is a physically disabled peep) like I’m not saying you can’t have certain feelings on this and I’m not even saying you can’t be critical-just be normal about non binary people even when they’re masc presenting.

You know what? I've gone out of my way to be nice. I've acknowledged that mob mentality and manipulation were at work. I've reached out to some of the people who were direct victims of Mr. McCreepy and his actions to check in on them and to extended my well wishes. I have made an effort not to victim blame or question anyone's experiences over what has happened.

But I do not appreciate my own experiences being questioned and belittled. No, he did not hurt me nearly as directly as he did many of you. But that does not change that he created an extremely hostile, unwelcoming, and anxiety inducing environment for myself, and many other people, simply because we happened to like a character that he didn't.

Many of you are missing the point. It was not simply because he disliked Grace that so many were turned off or upset by his behavior. It was because he went out of his way to comment on posts--like gifsets or textposts--spouting nasty things about her, purposefully picking fights with her fans, and openly bullying people for liking her or for trying to defend themselves when he burst onto their lovely gifs or other content they'd created spewing hated. That was the problem. And that's not even going into the issue that a lot of his posts on Grace crossed the line from simple character critique into full blown misogyny.

And so many of his fans engaged with that behavior and contributed to it. And by continuing to belittle and minimize the experiences of those who have tried to discuss this aspect of his public behavior and how it affected them and the fandom, you are proving that you never cared that he was hurting others. It was only when he hurt you personally that you started to give a damn.

I'm not even looking for an apology from anyone who engaged in the bullying. But I don't think that it's too much to ask that, after everything that has been revealed about this man, that you would stop trying to argue that his public behavior was acceptable. I am frankly flabbergasted to see so many people who are victims of him going out of their way to still defend him when it comes to this aspect of what he did.

This is a way that he has hurt and affected myself and others in the fandom, even when we chose not to directly engage with him. And it is just as valid as the other ways he hurt people on here. I am sorry if that makes you feel bad, because you happened to contribute to the bullying that created such an unwelcoming environment and quite likely drove some people out of the fandom entirely. But those of us who were impacted in this way have just as much right to express it as the rest of you.

Something that might've been interesting (though obviously couldn't be implemented, because it's not compatible with all origins) would've been something like the spirit eater curse from Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (which is another game set in the Realms, and also features Dead Three shenanigans. The base game is kinda meh, but MotB is good.)

Basically you're afflicted with a curse that means you must consume spirits/souls to survive, or else the curse will consume your soul, memories and identity and kill you (before moving on to the next host). There's a sort of health metre, which steadily depletes and inflicts penalties on you until you consume a spirit/soul (or kills you, if you won't).

Indulging the hunger unlocks greater soul-eating powers as the game progresses (one of which allows you to consume part of the soul of a god who fucking deserves it), but it also means that the hunger grows stronger and the metre depletes faster.

Also you're a horrific soul-eating monster that spreads its curse like a disease and everybody is quite understandably not happy having you around... except for the guys who worship the potential power you wield and encourage you to let the thing consume you.

There's also the "good" route where you resist the hunger and which unlocks different powers that help you manage it, and honestly while I enjoy that route, I also find it's not "playing with fire" enough but I digress.

I'm not necessarily picturing it functioning the exact same way, and obviously I'm primarily thinking of the Dark Urge here (give Bhaal the blood he demands and get chopping those limbs or have your mind eaten away and go feral-ending) but something like that might've worked for managing Karlach's engine, or Astarion's vampirism. Or even just something to do with the tadpoles - manage the little bastards, or they eat your brain.

I usually am very careful about "retribution kills" since I approach my abusive characters as full people, capable of growth and change if they so choose, buuuuuut I gave myself a little treat here.

Canon!Tom gets a sweet little redemption death saving his kids, and honored as "he was our dad and we should avenge him :0" even though he. Like. Kidnapped his kids and is responsible for Turtle Tail's death and torturing Bumble for a month for revealing a secret and eventually threw a tantrum when Gray Wing showed up.

Gray Wing isn't considered the "real" dad of any of the kids he adopts. WC fucking hates adoption. Your biodad can literally get your mom killed and you are obligated to forgive them and still love them if they do a single nice thing for you.

I am so angry about this that I'm feeding Tom to One Eye as an example of how brutal a death by him is. I am not above it for Tom and Tom specifically. Get fucked, Tom <3

something i wanna use when writing teetle xovers but that i wanna wait until i actually watch the 1987 show to try and handle is like. okay. bear w/me here. i want either the 03 or the 12 iteration to be the first to interact with the 87 guys, and i want 'em to initially go "oh great, these yahoos again" or something

except then the 1987 teetles aren't flanderized??? and it turns out that after turtles forever and the 2012 xovers, 87!donatello went "ok that was uhhh really weird now that i think about it, usually we're not that flighty or just really bad at life in general" and did some research into why he, his bros, and everybody from their dimension seem to go into Major Sillymode whenever something happens involving them and the multiverse.

turns out some Greater Power™ or Force Of Nature™ beyond turtle understanding (*cough*writerswhodothe87turtlesdirty*coughcough*) starts acting up whenever the 1987 universe wibble-wobbles too close to another teetleverse.

so between the events of the 2012 xover episodes and whatever ends up happening in the xover fic, donatello builds a device that can help the 1987 universe and those who call it home make sure they stay stable and unaltered around dimensional shenaniganizing.

bonus potential to be a plot point- one or more of the 1987 turtles suddenly goes full sillymode out of the blue while the plotline continues ramping up and anybody who's aware of the stabilizer and what it's meant to do immediately goes "oh SHIT-" and just books it back to the 1987 universe

basically i want to acknowledge the events of the previous times 1987 made a comeback while also working out a way to explain their ooc actions and keep the 1987 turtles in character from their actual show. i think that'd be neat :) i just uhhh. need to get a handle on their characters from their actual show.
