so like. if anyone else, like me, still has the occasional fanfic they follow on fanfiction.net, and hasn't been getting the update emails for the longest time and was wondering if ti meant the site is on its last legs

you have to opt back in to getting the emails/notifications of new chapters every six months, because they automatically assume you don't want to know when the fics you followed for the updates have updated

Welp! I guess my time is up. I have officially been laid off, so I'm putting in my 2 weeks' notice. Whatever fandom you all chose to move on to, may you always be happy and geeked out, and i pray the toxicity way from you.

saw someone being wrong about kon on the internet again (i know. shocking) and you are all so lucky i'm sick and feverish and lazy because i DID just seriously entertain the thought of writing up a small essay complete with issue and panel citations about why it's simply incorrect to say that kon never really seemed to reciprocate any sort of crush on tim before geoff/tt03. this is just not true. you dont have to actually ship them but to downplay their importance to each other even in the earliest days is simply incorrect. i'm too tired and achy to bother digging through comics to pull up all the issues that have the bits i want to point at but like... they were both very mutually important to each other from early on. it was in no way shape or form one-sided, whether you want to read that as platonic or romantic. man.

We need more Joel and Tommy brotherly fics in Jackson.

Joel is a dad but he is also an older brother and he was an older brother first. He obviously took care of Tommy to some degree since Tommy calls him to bail him out and Joel is frustrated but also seems used to needed to come to his brother’s aid in one way or another. Tommy and Joel were clearly very close before the outbreak. They work together, Tommy drives Sarah to school. Tommy just walks into Joel’s house and eats out of his fridge no hesitation and Joel and Sarah don’t care so clearly he is more then welcome to do so. Means he is over all the time, it’s his home too even if he likely has his own apartment somewhere. He clearly has helped take care of Sarah, likely babysits often so Joel can get things done.

Then after the outbreak Tommy is the one that cared for Joel after his suicide attempt, gave him a reason to keep going. They were hunters and raiders together for a long time before Tommy went to join to fireflies

even after joining the fireflies they STILL kept in regular radio contact with each other until Tommy left them to live in Jackson.

You can see how shocked Tommy is to see Joel show up in Jackson. How hard he hugs him and then clings to him after. Hands clutched in his jacket collar like he doesn’t want to let go. 

We need fics of them bonding again in Jackson. They are like a power duo on patrols and Joel gets to stretch out that big brother muscle again. We need the two of them teasing each other, using the same mannerisms and phrases at the same time (which freaks ellie and sometimes even Maria the hell out), telling stories (probably embarrassing ones) about each other. We need Tommy panicking about not being a good Dad and Joel assuring him he will be. That he helped him care for Sarah so he already has some experience, and that Joel will help him if he needs it. Seeing a baby Miller again will be hard for Joel (especially if it’s a girl) but also healing in some ways as he becomes an Uncle for the first time and helps Tommy be a father just like Tommy did with him.

Digimon Survive headcannon - how they sleep

It's odd these last two months, not hearing their breaths in the dark of the night while he lays awake under the light of the moon. Takuma’s horrible snoring. Minoru picking fights in his sleep. Kaito grappling anyone that enters his vicinity - usually Ryo who never seems to stop rolling.

This is just an exerpt from chapter 4 of my fic (cuz Im stuck on chapter 2 and I worry this will never see the light of day)

Takuma and Agumon snore in the same exact way

Minoru sleep fights

Despite how he looks, Falcomon does indeed sleep at night. He insists that he is not an owl

Kaito is a cuddler (and has a really strong grip)

After a full day of playing pranks on everyone, Dracmon tires himself out and sleeps like a little angel

Ryo will wake up every morning at least 2 meters away from his sleeping bag

Kunemon can sleep on any surface and sometimes sticks to the window to avoid Ryo's rolling

Shuuji is awake for all of this (hes a light sleeper)

Lopmon sleeps on Shuuji's head

Over on the girls side

Aoi is the one who cant sleep (and snores when she does)

Labramon's paws twitch when she dreams (she chews too)

Saki and Miu have full conversations with eachother while sleeping - Aoi doesnt know how this works

Floramon starts her sleep by standing with her petals closed and ends up dragged into a cuddle pile throughout the night

Syakkomon sleeps will her shell closed (and Miu uses her like a pillow)

And there’s everyone!!! All the character designs for the V3 Remnants of Despair au are complete!!

This was such a fun project to work on and I want to thank everyone so much for all the amazing support!! It was more then I’d have ever imagined getting! Even though all the designs are finished I still definitely want to work more on the au and do more drawings, so if anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions please don’t hesitate to send me an ask!

bestie… what’s the 600k incomplete merlin fic please drop the title

SO glad you asked and also I misspoke. It is actually 871k. THE HANDS OF A HUNDRED WINTERS by FOURLEGGEDFISH. It is in four parts and you both can and should read it despite being incomplete, I have only read 3/4 parts because I am loathe to part with the reading experience of writing this good. This is both my favourite Merlin fic I've ever read and potentially my favourite longfic I've ever read (though hard to assess when it's incomplete and I haven't read it all as yet). It's AMAZING to me that the author has managed to sustain and even increase my interest over this many words, a feat managed by no other fanfiction I've read longer than 400k words ever (and I read a lot of those!). Don't get me wrong it's not perfect, and I do have minor scruples with some things*! I also don't think it's for everyone, my dear friend didn't like it and found it too dark for her personal tastes. But for ME? SPECIFICALLY FOR ME? To quote something I said to my friends 'wells for boys, lads, wells for fucking boys.' I also think it's so immaculately beautifully written that even if it's not your personal cup of tea you should read it anyway. ALSO the sheer dazzling breadth of research that went into this fic is REMARKABLE. I am not joking when I say this author has achieved everything I want to achieve as a writer in this fic. In many ways this is Ur Merlin Fic. The Once and Future Fic. To Me!

*I have minor scruples with almost every fic I've ever read and frankly remarkable how few scruples occur with a fic on this size. There are also scruples I had with things like tone, characterisation or even sex scenes that were then resolved with plot explanations that made sense a mere half a million words later in a quite satisfying way. This fic is a masterpiece in how it threads things like that through and pays them off very handsomely. I know how much blood sweat and tears goes into creating fanfic and I am overwhelmed by the skill, love and zillions of hours that must have gone into crafting this. Nothing but respect for such an incredible piece of art.

If you've been around my blog for some time you'd know that I like to take breaks from writing once in a while and I'm afraid, today comes that time.

It's nothing to worry about, I just came to the point that writing has became a tedious thing and I write for fun, so to keep it fun I think it's best for me to stop writing for a bit and step out of this site and unwind and take care of my mental and physical health and have some time for myself and be present in life.

Thank you for everyone who has been supporting me and sending me kind words and positivity and encouragements. (Don't you ever say you don't matter, because you are matter to me 💕) You guys make me a better writer, also, a motivated and a grateful one.

There are so many of you that I cherished and I can list or tag you one by one and it's getting sappy, I don't want to be sad about this. This is not a goodbye, I promise you. We'll meet again soon, hopefully I'll come back stronger and better.
