Since a total of zero people asked me: here are my opinions on Palia non-romancable NPCs after playing the game for about 100 or so hours. And as always SPOILERs:
Ashura: You are my dad. You're my dad. Boogie-ooogie-oogie. I actually don't take to him as much as I should.The fact that he was the chill one in his family makes so much sense. He's such a calming presence. But of course there's the Regrets.
Delaila: Ok but why is she the few Older adult Majiri OG in Kilima? Like have you noticed that she's kinda the only one that's originally from the village? Like, where did she come from? Is she the real leader? Did she secretly take everyone out that she didn't like and replace them with people lured in my her homecooking? Things to think about.
Kenli: What happens when you don't give a nepotism baby a coming-of-age redemption arc. This guy is just trying his best. He likes sandwiches and cute fluffy animals. His best friend is the town priest. But despite it all man understands capitalism like no other (see Maji Market).
Caleri: She's a fav. Maybe I'm projecting but I too would die for my books and eat sleep and breathe in the library. Intelligent, unbothered by village happenings. Yet, keeps a detailed leger of each book bowers status upon the borrowed book's return. However, deeply unhappy with the cards life has delt her. I try to bring her all the glass bulbs so she can read into the night.
Elouisa: The only real G's out there. Sending me on impossible tasks to prove her theories and beat to cryptid allegations. Of course she's the older twin. Intelligent, bothered by village happenings when it comes to her projects. Still watches over her sister and cares in her own way. I love her.
Badruu: Comedic genius. I'm pretty sure when he gave up the bard life for farming, he realized he needed to put his funny guy hat on and has been spitting puns ever since. And yet despite the dad jokes, he asks me me, the amnesiad human for parenting advice. The absolute honor. Also, I just need to see him talk with Einar, PLEASE. The comedic fallout would be unmatched.
Najuma: I make the journey to Bahari Bay every day just for her. Because 1) thanks for the glider I use that every day 2) we are besties and 3) it's good to keep a genius that can blow stuff up on your side idk. We may have different types of Momma Trauma but we are still going to bond over it.
Chayne: I don't interact with him much idk. His dad's raised him right I think. Basically, caretaker for the entire village. Also my Shepp-in-law, grand-Shepp?? idk
Hekla: Jina's caretaker. A bit aloof at first. I also don't interact with Hekla much, but one day I'mma find out what's in the tent.
Sifuu: That's my Shepp! Also a problematic mother that doesn't really understand her child and yearns for days of adventure. And ripped. There's something to be said that she gave me an ornamental sword as a gift. Like insta-loyalty from me even if I wasn't romantically pursuing your son.
Auni: We babe who needed someone is his bug hunting club but mysteriously sucks at hunting most bugs if his item requests are anything to go by. The fact that he ran away from home for the exact length of time that his delivery shift is and wondered why no one was worried is absolutely hilarious and yes I read his journal and laughed.
Zeki: First of all, why is Zeki the only one selling toilets and they are contraband? Has anyone asked this? Is it like illegal to use indoor plumbing and Zeki has the monopoly?? Secondly, I know this fool is scamming me and when I finally get enough gold I'ma buy out him and his whole underground establishment. Respectfully, of course.
Eshe: If Eshe has zero haters, I'm dead. Just because she didn't get with the politically powerful sibling, she makes it everyone else's problem while somehow still efficiently running the village. Even I gotta admit no one's doing it like her. Another member of the problematic mom club but don't tell her she's been grouped with Sifuu. She'll pitch a fit.
Tau: The fact that there's only one of him is a crime. The only good boy.

For someone who says he's a tough Grimalkin, don't need no one, Zeki sure is soft-hearted.
So, a few days ago I found an old cat toy. I was looking for palium in those old caves that people apparently use for storage, and it kind of tried to kill me.
Okay, yes, I know it's dramatic, but it's my journal!
I stepped on it, and it rolled, so I fell and even as impressive as my pickaxe is, it still *hurts* when it lands on my chest okay? I was told I wasn't allowed to carry things for a few days. Fussy dad. Fussy everyone, really. I bet it was Kenyatta who tattled >.>
Then again, Chayne does talk to Dad a lot.
Bah, anyways.
Since it tried to kill me, I picked it up to deal with later. Jellybean and her sibs got their claws on it the other day and reminded me it existed, so I figured I'd take it to Zeki, since he's the only cat-being around.
Yeah, it was Zeki's. Apparently his mom left it for him. And he said there should be a letter too, and asked if I could go find it. Since fishing wasn't on my list of banned activities (seriously Nai'o showed up to take care of my garden for me so I didn't strain myself. They're all such fusspots, I love them so much.) I figured it couldn't hurt, and it didn't take too long to find the bottle.
Man. I am still super curious about what the letter said, but like. Zeki's nice. Ruthless in business maybe, but outside that, I like him. He's a good friend. So I brought him the bottle, got a lucky coin for my troubles, and then this morning he turned up to ask me if I could talk to Najuma about her obsession in getting deeper into the mines!
Seriously. He's such a softy.
Naj's a good kid, and I have been worrying about that. Like, I get it, it's her Path and she's dedicated to it, but She's also like.. twelve. And I think she's carrying around a ton of survivor's guilt for her mom.
I did get the story, finally. It was rough, but you can't blame a five year old for doing unreasonable five year old things. And like... I don't know. She blames herself so much. I think she needs to talk to Chayne about it, but it's taken me this long to get her to trust me, so it probably won't happen.
...maybe I could talk to Chayne, and to Dad. I don't know if it'll do any good, but I can try.
Anyways, after that Hodari came by and asked if I could help him find some missing pages from his wife's old notebook. I'll have to do some chappa hunting, I think, and then he sais Zeki is also a good person to talk to about where some of the sketches might be.
I am glad he's trying to meet Naj halfway. Even if he is still being an ass about letting her go into the mines. Like. It's her Path. And he must've accepted it at the time.
Maybe Hodari needs to talk to Chayna and/or Dad about what happened to Leta too. I don't really think either one of them (Naj and Dari) have really actually processed what happened in a healthy way. Naj blames herself for being a baby, and Hodari plainly blames himself for not being fast enough.
It's so complicated.
But I guess that's what I'll be doing for a bit, trying to find those darn missing papers. I hope none of them got shredded, or weather-wrecked. That would entirely defeat the purpose of this.

How interesting would LITG S4 be if they had Casa Amor with the S5 guys? Just imagine
Suresh coming in as the ex. How many people would switch just because of how hot he is? His confidence and persistence to get MC back. Not looking at the other girls and confessing to MC how jealous and torn he’s been watching her on the show. And a video getting back to the OG boys where MC is talking about how good you were together in the past. Poor baby Bruno would be sweating even if MC talked to him before and told him he cheated on her. Will would switch, not just because he’s flaky, but because doesn’t know where MC stands in your couple if they only just got back together.
Eddie the model in competition with Youcef. It’s not revealed they actually know each other until someone decides to switch and Youcef says something ( if not MC, maybe Thabi would switch to him if it’s before she gets with James). Better if they’re enemies. Eddie gets most of the modeling gigs Youcef wanted. Youcef’s petty remarks in his beautiful French accent that pisses Eddie off. 😂 Eddie is more laid back than the others which can be a breath of fresh air compared to the others. The banter flows better and feels more sincere. Asks random questions to get to know MC better.
Alfie would probably get on well with Juliet, Valentina, Cora, but is flirting hard on MC. Making her laugh all day since he knows she likes that about Bruno. Having watched her on tv he knows her interest and making a point to bring them up and ask more about them. Would ask her to take a dip in the pool and they end up just laughing, splashing, racing all afternoon. Would make her breakfast on their last day together. If MC is with Will, he might try to get in her head a bit about Will’s head being scrambled. How he isn’t really sure about her or their couple. Even though it was probably said when she first coupled with him and he doesn’t feel that way anymore.
Finn is trying it with everyone. Laying it on thick with most the girls. I see him getting along well with Valentina, Cora and maybe even Najuma. Angie is steering clear of him because he reminds her of an ex. Obvi he likes MC the most and will make her ice coffee in the mornings and brings her water bottle to her if she forgets it somewhere. He wants to get to know everyone equally but he’s charming so it’s hard not to like him. Will probably ask her at some point if she wants to share a bed with him.
No matter if your switch or stick, Bruno is always loyal if he’s with MC. Will and Youcef always switch. James, Tom and Kobi would stick.
MC can switch or stick with anyone. Valentina would switch to Finn unless MC picks him then she switches to Alfie. Thabi could switch to Eddie (if she’s not with James and is over Will) unless MC picks him then she will stick. Cora would surprise everyone by switching to Suresh unless MC picks him then she would switch with Alfie. Juliet, Najuma, and Angie will stick.

omg firstly, LOVE THIS ASK!
Angie
She works too much. The hours are long already, and emergency services are almost universally understaffed. But Angie's always so worried about others that she rarely turns someone down if they need someone to cover their shift. MC's not saying anything to start with, because she's literally saving lives... but she wants her to be home more. She misses her. And it's going to fester a little bit. They're going to have to have an open and honest convo about this.
Bruno
Oh my sweet baby. Many things. He's going to embarrass her in his stand-up. He'll post something too personal on social media. He'll say exactly the wrong thing to exactly the wrong person at her family gathering or work event. He might get a bit better once he gets more comfortable around her friends and family, but realistically, he couldn't change even if she wanted him to. He could avoid a lot of these by just slowing down for a second. If he's willing to do that, they'll be okay. If not, he's gonna piss her off. And fast.
James
He doesn't stand up for her against his family. Don't get me wrong, James's family are lovely people. But if it came down to it, she feels like if they told him to dump her, he would. She feels like he's never on her side, and she doesn't feel like they're a team. It makes her feel very isolated, especially if she's moved for him.
Najuma
Partying too much. Her wildness is one of the reasons MC fell for her in the first place, but seriously? Every night? After a while, MC's either going to get completely worn out (from joining her) or very, very lonely (if she doesn't). Either way, it's going to be the source of a big argument.
Oliver
He's a bit naïve, and lets people take advantage of him. I can see some of his wider group of mates doing this - rides to the airport, helping move house, etc. But like, every weekend. MC is going to get pretty annoyed at it, and try and get him to say no to people. Sales calls, scammers, even door-knockers. He seems to attract them and he always has a smile and a nod for them. Especially if money's tight, it's going to be a real pressure point for MC.
Tom
He doesn't listen to her love language. He keeps showering her with gifts, and buying her things, even if she expressly tells him it's not what she wants or needs from him. He also has similar issues to James, in that he's gonna take his parents' side on something, or not stand up for her when it's really, really important. She's going to be left feeling like she's always going to come second. If he doesn't step up, start listening to what she needs, and start making her a priority, she's gone.
Will
Easy. Not opening up. He doesn't want to bring things up in case it starts an argument. He just lets things fester and simmer until it's far, far bigger of a deal than it needs to be. It gets to the point where every time he says "Can we talk?" she gets a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach, because she's going to be feeling so guilty about something bothering him for weeks. It's not healthy. They both needs therapy.
Youcef
Funnily enough, I actually don't see there being any major arguments between these two. If he confesses to her, it's already established that they've got very open and honest communication. So out of all the couples, I think this is the one that will have the fewest arguments. Though, I can see him getting a little bit jealous at times. Teehee.

Tai and Ciaran - together forever❤️ They’re such a cute couple, and I think they’re just so perfect for each other:) I can see them having a baby a few years down the line, or two! Or twins!! Imagine they go to a park in the fall, and Kerry is playing with the babies in a pile of leaves🥹
Chelsea and Rocco - hmmm I don’t think they’ll last long? I do feel like they weirdly work well together, but I think with Rocco’s free-spirited nature and love for travel he won’t see her that often and he won’t be there when she needs him, so they’ll eventually fall apart. My prediction - 6-8 months🤷♀️
Najuma and Youcef - on and off, on and off, on and off… They’re together, then they fight and fall apart, then they hook up again, maybe try to make this work again, but then it doesn’t… It’s cyclical. They’re into each other too much to let go, but they drive each other nuts when they’re together - yeah, it’s messy and it goes on like that for years…😬

Season 1: Talia (my queen, tied for my favorite female LI now 😳); Tim (he's really grown on me. Catch me making an MC just for him in the next few days)
Season 2: Gary (he is such a friends-to-lovers kind of LI and I have a weakness for it); Hannah (that's it. I'm coming out and saying. It's called self-love baby)
Season 3: Ffs. This says LIs so I'll play fair. Camilo (great cook, family man, clingy. The dream); Tai (gentle giant, family man, jovial. The dream)
Season 4: Najuma (I loooove her, fav); literally haven't replayed at all (didn't even play the finale to finish Najuma's) but I'm looking forward to replaying for Angie
Season 5: My OCs, Siresh and... Gadi (canon is trash, gotta reclaim and refurbish these characters to be everything I want)

Hey my friend here are the answers to your questions.
1. I first discovered the game around my birthday in August of 2019 which was during season 2. I was on vacation from work and was bored. I downloaded the game and have been enjoying it pretty much since.
23. The couples I think don't work and mind you this just my opinion are Lottie and Gary from S2, Hope & Noah S2, Seb & Genevieve S3 & Youcef & Najuma S4. I just don't see any of them as compatible.
44. Season 2 without a doubt!! Just so i can have my helicopter baby!!

SO more detail on the AU I mentioned yesterday which I am calling the Pavel girls AU for now, maybe a better name later if I think of one but knowing me I probably won't
Disclaimer: I LOVE HODARI I am just putting him back in the toy box for a bit so I can play with Leta instead for a while. Ok? Ok
Further disclaimer: I know we don't know much in canon about Leta so I'm veering probably quite far into OC territory here but it's okay I've given myself permission, this is my version of her and everyone else is obviously free to do as they wish, plenty of AU/OC space for everyone
Hodari finds Najuma first. He throws her clear of the cave-in; Leta finds her, frees her, takes her back to Kilima to get help, but by the time she returns with the other villagers it's too late.
Leaving Leta and Najuma.
Leta never considers going home. She's the inventor, so she makes Najuma her prosthetic leg fairly early on.
I like babies/children and I think there should be more of them so I wanted to add another Pavel child to this AU; my first thought was that Leta could be pregnant (early-on and maybe not know herself yet) when Hodari dies but the more I thought about it the more outright cruel it seemed, like that would be A LOT and I felt like I was being unnecessarily horrible to her. Also I liked the idea of the second child being a bit younger than that. So INSTEAD maybe about three years after the accident some kind of travelling merchant is visiting Kilima and runs into Leta in town, and invites himself round to see her later that evening; and she's lonely, and what's the harm? Najuma's asleep. And Leta works hard and she deserves a bit of fun and attention. Then a couple of weeks later once he's long gone she realises, oops. I like accidental pregnancy stories. Sorry Leta.
Anyway this is Saleni Pavel, she's five! She likes swimming and butterflies and telling long meandering stories that go on about five minutes too long. She definitely owns shoes and, if pressed, could tell you where at least one of them is. Her favourite person in the whole world is her big sister and she can very nearly do a handstand and wait, she'll show you. Wait. One more minute. She's going to do it this time. Okay let her try again
(sidenote: I do think of the Majiri as being overall quite sex-positive and we know they are polyamorous but it is interesting that all the children we see, and all the adults as far as we know, were born in (monogamous) wedlock. So I wonder who would be judgemental and who wouldn't)
Leta is a miner, but she's also an inventor and I think especially with two children it would make more sense for her to do more inventing, which would keep her closer to home more of the time. She's friends with Zeki so he could help her with licencing and selling her inventions. I think she'd go into the mines enough to get the materials she needs, and maybe enough to sell locally, but not as her primary means of supporting her family, and larger parts of the mines would be abandoned.
So bringing us to Najuma. Who would similarly not be allowed in the mines - it's not safe, especially when parts of it aren't checked/maintained. And there's no need - she's better off in every way as her mother's apprentice. But I think she'd feel just as drawn to them because of her father's death and wanting to continue his legacy.
And I like to think about Najuma as a big sister. How she'd feel about the fact that at least she knew her father, but that means she knows how it felt to lose him, which Saleni can't, and is that better or worse? And being fiercely protective of her but also having to look after her and getting frustrated and fed up, and also maybe frustrated because Saleni can run and swim and do things she can't with a prosthetic, but it isn't her fault, and teenage angst, and so forth, while also loving her to pieces and if you look at her wrong she will FIGHT YOU. You know, sibling stuff.
Leta in general I see as outgoing, friendly, and generally well-liked; not always as cautious as she should be with a tendency to rush in; rather hot-headed. Loses track of time when she's working on something. Very loyal and loves her daughters to distraction but they are also the people who drive her craziest.
That all I’m going to say today but I have MANY MORE THOUGHTS for other posts, including how I would add all this into the game and what I would change to make it all work and quests and schedules and all kinds of things, and if anyone cares at all then PLEASE reply or message me or something because I need. To get all the thoughts out. I can’t stop thinking about this AU help
