Alive Again
She-Hulk II #54
Bad and getting worse.
Zapper brings Jen back from the dead, to battle a very lame villain.
We start with our heroine in a shopping mall in the afterlife, talking with her mom. It's not written for laughs. It's just something that's happening and we have to accept it. And not ask too many questions, I guess. Strange.
When her father is told about her death, he immediately spends the next page giving a wordy summation of the villain's backstory. No matter what tone they are going for, that seems weird. Same with Zapper's wife, who storms off in a jealous rage after Jennifer is successfully brought back from the dead. It's a decidedly weird reaction.
The whole book is odd. Sadly reminiscent of the terrible early 80s SHE-HULK book. Maybe that's what they are going for?

It's interesting to hear how some people that met him saw him completely different than us that heard the greatness immediately.
This is such a story and I'm sure they're kicking themselves for it.

Quasar #49
Quality adult comics.
"All my power, and what good is it when I can't do anything for the people I love?"
Last time, it felt like Gruenwald was revisiting elements of the NEW UNIVERSE comics. This time, he's back in SQUADRON SUPREME territory when Wendall sets out to cure his mother's cancer. A great reminder that most Marvel superheroes are human, too. And the Marvel Universe isn't some idyllic paradise. Cancer exists there and, for all the advancement, cannot be cured. A great point to make in a cosmic book.
The Kayla-Kismet battle is well set up and makes sense. The conclusion is very strong, as the script (finally) pulls the trigger on the mysterious Holly Steckley. Uh-oh.
