#Astral Plane Kingdom Hearts
Text
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Astral plane is a world connecting existance and non-existence
Tumblr media
This is a city of Light and Darkness.
Tumblr media
Unreality is not of light or Darkness.
Meaning, if the keyblade wielders of Scala ad Caelum found a way to connect their world to the world beyond, those secrets may lie in Scala ad Caelum now.

SONIC OC BARRAGE GO
Introducing a bunch of my sonic ocs that no one really asked for, but I felt like drawing!
The "Squad of the Future" redux because the squad got bigger
Tumblr media
Each character and a little bit about themselve's under the readmore!
Angel Robotnik-Cemerald the Cat
Tumblr media
The oldest of the squad, being a few hundred years old now, though she lost track a long time ago. She is a clone created by Eggman, using both His and Vick's Dna, made to be the perfect heir to share his eventual kingdom with. ... Well she got his smarts and his love for building, but thats about it. She has to keep her little half brother, Draco, out of trouble.
Draco Johnathan Cemerald-Robotnik the Hedgecat
Tumblr media
The "brains" of the group, 12 year old Draco is the son of Vick Cemerald and Shadow Robotnik. He has a problem with his arrogance, but doesn't hesitate to put himself between his friends and danger. He's constantly bugging his big sisters, both his half sister Angel as well as his full sister Raven. Demetre is his very best friend.
Demetre the Porcupine
Tumblr media
Demetre is Draco's keeper, aka the one to always humble the dumbest smart person he knows. With his ability to fire his quills at a rapid rate, he's more of a long range attacker. He enjoys science, like Draco, though isn't quite on his level.
Henry the Bearded Dragon
Tumblr media
Henry is a quiet kind of guy, usually having his nose in a book or drawing sick comics. He's a tad self conscious about his looks, so he tries to look the part of "bad boy". But with his big heart and stupendous healing abilities, he's a great ally to have.
Kevin the Armadillo and Mesmer the Hedgehog
Tumblr media
Kevin is the literal big brother of the group, with his little Sibling Mesmer always by his side. They may not be the strongest of the squad, but their experiences in life make them invaluable. Mesmer is always reminding everyone that theres time to smile, while Kevin reminds them of responsibility that they all share.
Lexis the Sloth
Tumblr media
Lexis is the powerhouse, with an explosive power to gather potential energy and turn it into kinetic energy. To prevent herself from making a destructive mistake, Lexis prefers to spend her free time sleeping, either in a bed or where ever she can get cozy.
Prince Kappa of the Kingdom of Shells and Princess Marina of the Kingdom of Urchins
Tumblr media
Prince Kappa and Princess Marina are two royals from the same continent, one madly in love with the other. I'll give you three guesses as to which is which. Marina's father, King Marin, wants the two to be wed in order to combine the two kingdoms. Kappa, however, as a single heir to a kingless kingdom, does not want this. He does not like Marina in that way and just wants to be friends who hang out.
Jaque the Hedgehog
Tumblr media
The Dream Walker, Jaque has the ability to enter the astral plane in his sleep as well as the dreamscapes of others. He is incapable of having dreams of his own. Usually he's the therapist of the friend group, unable to help himself on coming upon nightmares when called out to.
Piper the Retriever
Tumblr media
Although not the oldest, Piper has big Mom friend energy, scolding the more irresponsible of the group often. While having no powers to speak of, she has a great sense of leadership though claims that shes no leader. She loves to take care of her friends, especially when they forget to eat, sleep, or sometimes breathe.
Axel the Meerkat
Tumblr media
The strongman, loving to casually show off his strength, Axel has, you guessed it, strength class abilities. He is a mute sort, never seeming to utter a word, though no one really knows why. His best friend Gou seems to understand him regardless.
Gou the Porcupine
Tumblr media
Gou is a Speedster, only able to launch a single quill at a time but with great precision and speed. His best friend Axel tends to keep his class clown attitude in check, but with his big mouth its hard to get out of the tricky situations they get into. He uses a cyber sleeve on his right arm to gather intel, and to also sometimes watch videos on TuYube.
Dr. Nikolia Moore the Tigeress
Tumblr media
Nikolia is the team's Medic, being the only one of them certified with a doctorate in medicine as well as nutritional health. Her deadpan face can be intimidating to most, but her heart is that of a mother. A mother who will rip off the head of something hurting an innocent, a friend, or worse, a child. She is a strong believer in Doctor/Patient Confidentiality, and would never out someone for anything with out asking if it was okay to speak on the matter. She and Angel are Colleagues.
And that's all for now! Thank you for reading thus far.

“The Green” is a term oft used by Spirit to describe the etheric realm of the vegetable kingdom.
From plants to herbs and flowers, weeds to fungi and trees The Green is a storehouse of elemental consciousness, wisdom and power. It also holds the presence of the Earth Elemental Kingdom - those spiritual forces as old as time who monitor and watch over the vegetable kingdom and the Earth. From the Green Man and Green Woman to the Woodwose and Satyrs, from the Gnomes, Elves and Wood Nymphs to the Mountain Deva's and Giants the astral and etheric plane is thick with ancient presences guarding over and tending to the power and secrets of the Green.
And what of the Green itself? Vessel for the Green Ray and it's spiritual counter part the Green Fire the Green holds a powerful earth bound ray - sometimes called the Teluric Force which has the power to heal and resurrect, to restore and promote growth in both body, mind and heart.

So, I just watched the first 20 minutes of the KHML beta and I'm definitely reviving my Observations posts for this. Distortions, mental energies, and the astral plane?? Bruh, I'm on that as soon as I finish watching the rest of the beta story. Also, Remus is giving...you know what, nevermind. Gotta save something for later posts. Man, it feels so good to talk about Kingdom Hearts again.

A Peculiar Dream
......... It's the same dream night after night.
Tumblr media
That same ominous figure in the dark. Those same yellow piercing eyes. That strange staff. A sense of timeless horror, the dreamer powerless to do anything about the creature's presence or anything about what it might be doing. And what does it do?
Tumblr media
Why... It takes hearts of course.
From various corners untold in a great space, through it's eyes and it's presence, the viewer see's many different and strange places. From the highest mountain tops where great magical beings reside, to the lowest latitudes where murky swamps can be found... But that's not all this creature has seen. It has seen all kinds of strange lands as it's gone about it's many duties; swamplands inhabited by strange anthropomorphic amphibious creatures, immense woodlands filled with secrets and weirdness alike, a peculiar civilization perched upon the remains of a long since dead and decayed giant, an ancient kingdom straight out of history books depicting ancient Mesopotamia, an immense ocean and more. But where-ever it went, the story was always the same. In these worlds, it would find the hearts of fallen warriors. Warriors that gave it their all against unknown forces of great power and unknown origin, teetering between the realm of the living and the Final World of the deceased. And as their bodies, now invisible to the world around them, float between the physical and astral planes, it comes into the scene, gently taking the hearts from the warriors. This causes the bodies to disappear and for normalcy to continue to be held within the world without accidentally coming across the fallen warrior. And this is what the strange monster did. Traveling from world to world, sometimes from town to town; sometimes it would find hearts to collect, sometimes those hearts would be kept from it by figures unknown, more powerful then itself. Yes, indeed. It was a task that it started as far back as the Keyblade War (Whatever that meant), and continued on even to this day... ... And it likely would STILL be continuing on this task had it not been for that boy... ------------------------------------ The day began like any other. That strange, ominous figure was drawn to a great mountain where a warrior had been sent flying after a mighty battle. The warrior was not unlike everyone else it had come across, yet another poor, foolhardy young man, taken well before his time. Ah, but it wasn't for the figure to judge. Just to do it's job- "RIKU!!!" And that was when the trouble started. As it takes the heart, the figure looked down from where the warrior floated.
Down on the ground level? Another young warrior, one's eyes still brimmed with an unmistakable light and life, and curiously, one with eyes wide open... Eyes wide awake. Strange to be sure, but the figure paid the young man no heed, it just did it's job and then quickly left... But no. "HEY WAIT!" "HOLD STILL!" "ENOUGH!!" "STOP THAT!" "HEY!" "HEY STOP!!" Seven times does that boy give chase. Seven times does he cross his sword with the figure's ominous staff. Seven times does their magical skill clash against each other... And each time the two clashed, the figure would lose the heart it was attempting to take, due to the boy soundly defeating it despite it's every effort to escape. When the seventh clash comes and goes... It's finally just too much. The mysterious figure vanishes into the aether, it's body having taken too much punishment and unable to continue on. And when that figure disappears? The Dreamer feels it again. Hope. Optimism... Opportunity. So the dreamer travels. It travels and travels and travels and travels... Well away from the places he/she/they once knew...
Tumblr media
Until, one day, they finally find- "Gabe! Gabriel wake up! Gaaaaabe!" -? Huh-? ------------------------------------------------- Light. Illumination. Blinding... Awakening... "May your Heart be your Guiding Key, my stubborn little student~."

SOMEONE LIKE ME (CHAP. 20) - A STARGLASS ZODIAC X ZODIAC EXPERIMENT CROSSOVER

"Cassie! I have great news!" Cassie distantly heard Gemini shouting. She turned around to see Gemini zooming towards her on her cloud steed while Pegasus yelled at her to slow down.
"Yeah? What is it?!" Cassie shouted back as Gemini slid off her cloud and onto the ground, running to her.
"Okay, so, you know how we're trying to send you back home, right?" Gemini asked excitedly, waving her hands around.
"Yes?"
"And you know how we couldn't do that earlier cause we didn't know where in the mortal realm to send you to make sure you'd find your way back to your own Astral Plane?"
"Yes...?"
"Well, we have the solution now!" Gemini swept her arms wide. "Centaurus finally has some free time, so we're gonna go to Aquarius' kingdom and let her look into your memories and find out where you were before you came here!"
"Really?! That's great!" Cassie exclaimed, now starting to jump up and down with Gemini.
"Yes, well, Aquarius is expecting us soon," Pegasus said, interrupting their celebration. "A memory dive is an often long and tiring process. We should leave as soon as possible."
"Yeah, we'll leave ASAP!" Gemini said, jumping back onto her cloud and spinning around excitedly while Cassie giggled. Pegasus facepalmed.
"Right now. We should leave right now."
-
The trio portal-traveled yet again, this time to Aquarius' kingdom. This palace seemed much more modernized, made completely out of gleaming white metal and stone. Aquarius' throne was a bluish-gray metal, and it was an angular, sharp shape.
"So, does Centaurus work for Aquarius?" Cassie asked as they walked out of the throne room and into the long, seemingly never-ending hallways.
"She actually works for Sagittarius, she's his older sister and his advisor." Gemini flew in front of Cassie and Pegasus, turning around so she could talk to them. "But we're in Aquarius' kingdom because she's the most well-equipped to deal with memory dives."
"The Kingdom of Hydrokhoos is the most technologically advanced, out of all the Zodiacs," Pegasus explained. "The most intelligent scientists and engineers flock here."
"Ohh." Cassie nodded. "In my world, Aquarius is a clothing designer, along with Pisces."
"How fascinating."
They reached a set of automatic sliding doors, and they entered what looked like a laboratory, very similar to her Scorpio's lab.
"Aquarius!" Gemini shouted, flying over to a tall woman with blue pigtails that brushed against the floor. She was typing rapidly on a tablet, not even looking up to acknowledge Gemini.
"Hello," Aquarius finally grumbled after Gemini began to poke at her pigtails. One of the pigtails sprang to life, curling up and bonking Gemini on the head.
Pegasus bowed, and it was then Aquarius looked up and nodded in acknowledgement.
"Pegasus, good to see you." She tucked her tablet under her arm, putting her hand forth to firmly shake Pegasus' hand. "And...hello, Cassie."
Aquarius put her hand forward and Cassie shook it. "We've much to do before the procedure," the Zodiac said, looking back at her tablet. "Before anything else, we need to take Cassie's vitals in order to prove that she's stable enough for the memory dive."
"Vitals?" Cassie asked, alarmed. Was she going to be put into some kind of danger?
"Your heart rate, blood pressure, breath rate, and temperature," Aquarius said nonchalantly. "Nothing too serious, we just need to make sure that you are in normal health."
"Oh...okay," Cassie said, feeling some of the dread in her stomach disappearing. Aquarius gestured for her to sit in a chair, presumably for the vital checking, and so she sat.
"Uh, what's he doing here?" Gemini asked suddenly, pointing across the lab. Cassie turned her head to look, and found Pisces sitting on one of the countertops, his feet dangling above the ground and his fan held over his face. He was so still, almost like a statue—no wonder nobody had noticed him until now.
Aquarius looked up. "What are you doing here?" She asked, both of her pigtails snapping up and around a ceiling beam. Her hair lifted her into the air, landing her right next to Pisces.
The fish Zodiac snapped his fan closed, grinning. "Just wanted to see how the procedure would go."
Aquarius sighed, pushing Pisces off the counter and onto the floor. "How many times have I told you, you need to make sure that somebody is running your kingdom in your absence, you can't just run off wherever whenever, now I need to contact Hydra—"
Pisces ignored Aquarius' ramblings, making his way over to Cassie.
"Hello," he said softly, his voice almost a whisper. "Cassie, wasn't it? How are you?"
"Um. Good." Cassie scooched away just the tiniest bit—something about this Pisces unnerved her. Maybe it was the fact that most of his face was obscured, and she couldn't read his eyes or facial expressions. Maybe it was the fact that the warmth of his smile seemed more calculated than genuine.
Or maybe it was the fact that Gemini was staring at Pisces with seething, unadulterated hate.
Pisces quickly glanced up at Gemini, gauging the severity of her reaction. Evidently, he decided he'd better not stick around, as he straightened up and turned away.
"I wish you luck with the procedure," He said slowly as he snapped his fan in front of him again and sauntered away.
"Yes, thank you, Hydra." Cassie turned her attention to the enormous TV screen, where Aquarius was on call with a woman with pale blue hair. There were similarly colored snakes wreathed throughout her hair—something that her own Hydra did not have. (Her Hydra was a tiny two-headed serpent, though. They had no hair.)
"No problem, Aqua," Hydra was saying, her voice breaking in and out. "I'll contact Serpens in a bit. Wait a sec, is that the kid? Yo, Cetus, look! It's the kid!"
A man with pitch black skin, navy hair, and dark green eyes leaned over. He had a small fin poking out of his hair, as well as two fins nestled just above his ears. "Whoa. Nice. Hi!"
Cassie waved up at the screen, and Cetus waved back before turning away.
"Take care of our brother!" Hydra shouted, her video feed starting to flicker in and out. "Bye!"
The video shut off, and Aquarius turned back to the small group. "Alright, now that's settled, we can proceed."
"Pisces is Hydra's brother?" Cassie asked as Aquarius held a stethoscope to her chest. This felt uncannily like being at the doctor's office. "Didn't expect that."
"He's got five siblings, actually." Aquarius switched out the stethoscope for the thing used for measuring blood pressure (Cassie didn't know what the gadget was called). "Hydra is his oldest sister. Then Serpens, and then Ophiuchus and Cetus."
"Ophiuchus and Cetus are his older siblings?" Cassie asked in disbelief. She could see the slight resemblance between Hydra and Pisces, but the other two? "They don't look anything like him!"
"Yes, well, that's because..." Aquarius hesitated, trailing off, and Cassie got the feeling she was treading into difficult territory yet again. "Anyway. His youngest sister is Piscis Austrinus. She's a...what do you children call it? You know those girls that have magic powers in anime?"
"A...magical girl?" Cassie asked, thoroughly confused. There were magical girls in Ciara's Astral Plane?
"Yes, that. She's a magical girl." Aquarius offered no further explanation and instead held up a digital thermometer to Cassie's forehead, nodding when it beeped. "Stable vitals. We're clear to proceed to the next stages."
A knock sounded at the double doors, and Pisces got up to answer it. At the doorstep was Sagittarius, accompanied by a woman with grayish-blue hair tied back in a braid. Her eyes were covered by a blindfold, and the lower half of her body was that of a horse's. Clearly, this woman was Centaurus.
"Ah, welcome, welcome," Aquarius said, shaking hands with Centaurus and then slapping Sagittarius on his back. "Thank you for your time."
"No problem," Centaurus said, nodding towards Cassie. "This is the patient?"
"Yes," Aquarius said, leading Centaurus towards the chair. "This is Cassie. She's been confirmed stable for the procedure."
Centaurus grinned. "Excellent." She began to unwrap her blindfold, placing the fabric in Sagittarius' hands.
She opened her eyes, and Cassie was fascinated by what she saw. The woman's scleras were completely black, and her iris colors shifted from blue to purple to gold. There were also two smaller eyes underneath the corners of her main eyes, which blinked and then looked directly at her.
"Let's begin, shall we?"

Geography: Sarkhaen Tair, The Heart of Ioun's Kingdom
Note: Some of this will be repeated information from my lore posts on Khonsuria and Rheksus. I'll try to skim the general parts and try to get to the specifics of the city itself.
Birth of the City of Knowledge
Sarkhaen Tair was the first kingdom of Ilsundal (the original God of Knowledge, Time, and Fate), among the first cities of the Material plane (the First Work). It was here from which Ilsundal and the sphinxes set about what to do after the fall of the Primordials.
Tumblr media
(Source: Iteru by SpaceWeaver on DeviantArt)
Chief among the priorities was collecting the record of the Dawn War itself and naming the fallen. Parallel to this was the effort to locate the missing on both sides, to account for those gods who were thought lost (such as Torog and Zehir), and those Primordials who has gone into hiding in the depths of the Abyss or the edges of Creation. In the execution of both tasks, despite the efforts of his servants, Ilsundal realized how little the Gods themselves knew about Creation despite their participation in its ordering.
The city then felt its first change - as it shifted from simply the recording and storing of knowledge in the Archives of All Knowledge (renamed the Archives of the Known, to reflect their incomplete nature), to the identification of the unknowns, the Divination Halls.
Tumblr media
(Source: "Naktamun" by Greg Rutkowski)
As the various mortal humanoids developed, the sphinxes realized that the mortals were adapting Supernal, the divine language of the astral plane, to one more suited to their material bodies. The ingenuity of these peoples in creating to their own dialects – while fascinating to the sphinxes – would create challenges to keeping Ilsundal's knowledge as well as disseminating it. This prompted the experimenting with a written form of Supernal, one that would be functional for any mortal language. Thus, the Hall of Sigils was created. The experiment was a frustrating failure, which has given the Hall the moniker of the Palace of Riddles, a learning experience the sphinxes still have mixed feelings about to this day.
Sarkhaen Tair at this time was still very much a small city, as many of its inhabitants shared the ability to move between the Material and the Astral and in these early days should the need to increase or decrease the scale of the buildings, the material reality was still flexible enough to make adjustments trivial - something that only remains in the innermost heart of the present-day metropolis.
The First Apocalypse: The Arkhosian-Bael Turath War and the Scouring of the Bloodsands
The conflict between the dragons of Arkhosia with the human empire of Bael Turath was initially of little concern to Sarkhaen Tair, until the city's lack of walls and the city found itself surrounded by the conflict. Both sides assumed the City of Knowledge would naturally side with them. This led to the war spilling into the city itself, an intolerable situation, and one which Ilsundal immediately set his new godling-construct Ioun and the sphinxes to resolving.
The response to this was the creation of the Khonsurians, not as soldiers, but as assistants to continue to work of the sphinxes, and helping in the repair of the city, so the Ilsundal’s other forces could push the combatants out of the city and erect the first of the city's great encircling Walls of Intellect and the Gates of Peaceful Wisdom. This role of lesser servant led to the development of the mortal priesthood social class as it would persist into modern eras and represented the first instance of the sphinxes taking a step back from their divine purpose.
Tumblr media
(Source: character commission by TangeeArt on Instagram)
When Asmodeus and the humans took their fateful cannibalistic step, Ilsundal was truly horrified. Worse came wholly unexpected to Ilsundal – Asmodeus’ total erasure of He-Who-Was from all of Creation, so even the name and identity were lost, wiped from even Ilsundal's mind. And a great rage took hold of him. At the council of the gods, at the foot of the Thrones, where the emergency was discussed, most of the other deities believed Ilsundal would be a moderating voice, as he had been during the debates preceding the Dawn War. To the shock of all, including Ilsundal himself to be truthful, he voices strong support for an immediate and brutal response - to punish the humans and Asmodeus, to send a message to celestial and mortal alike.
And so, the Gods moved collectively to scour the Material world of Bael Turath's cities, destroy their libraries of arcana, shatter their armories, and extinguish their weapon forges. The sphinxes wondered why this act of erasure was being done without any attempt to preserve what lore and discoveries Bael Turath held. Surely, Ilsundal, the god of Knowledge, the keeper of all lore, the seeker of the unknown by divination, would not be acting so greatly against his own nature, his very identity as an astral entity, his divine dominion?
The Exile of the Gods
The impact of the Scouring on the First Work is an oft-repeated tale now - Ioun, newly invested as Goddess, faced a city surrounded with forsaken desert, a magical apocalypse all around her small domain, and the cries of her mortal servants for food, water, shelter from the sands and respite from the life-draining aftermath of the vengeance of the gods. It was Ioun who put her full mind to the creation of the Rivers of Life - first the Ankhenten, then the Ctarakul and Ctesiphal Rivers. The Heart of Sarkhaen Tair, as the inner walled city would be called, was transformed to accommodate the great rivers. She then bade the mortal sphinxfolk to follow the rivers and resettle the scarred and mourning land.
Anuchet-Neit (Melora) warned the new goddess, that one of the many secrets Ilsundal had neglected to learn was that the Material plane itself had spirits growing within it - not unlike the Astral had birthed the Gods, or the Primordials from the Elemental Chaos.  And these spirits, stirred to life in the pain inflicted by the Dawn War, demanded restitution for the injury of the Scouring.
Thus did Ioun instruct the great Mortuary Temples and Halls of Memorial and Contrition outside the city walls, where the priesthood would seek to reconcile the Material and the Astral. Ioun herself sought council from Nergal about how best to go about such rites, but the God of Death was unhelpful, the Primal Spirits were unmoved by the erection of monuments and the rituals of the sphinxes. And when the Frost goddess Khala attempted to freeze the Work in eternal winter, Ioun was ordered by the Primal Spirits to depart, like all other gods, from the Material plane.

The Age of Beasts, the Outer City grows, and the building of the Second Wall
After the Scouring and the Retreat of the Gods, Khonsuria flourished and spread far, following the three rivers and encounter the Serpent-folk of Arkhosia and the Southlands, the Loxodon, and the Turrak. The City of Knowledge became an important source of history and learning, sages, and teachers from Khonsuria spread far and wide, bringing the records of the Archives. Soon Rheksus was founded and became the secondary capital, home to its Great Library, a campus of teaching halls and lesser archives.
The mortal sphinxfolk developed the Outer City to live, trade, and support the immortal sphinxes in the Heart of Sarkhaen Tair. It became a place of houses, food markets, guildhalls for trades, lesser temples, public baths, and many common socializing areas to gather for impromptu performances and debates.
The War with the Serpents resulted in the building of the Serpent Wall and the Gates of Purity and War (aka the Bloody-Handed Gates of Sekhet), as well as the largest fortified temple complex in this ring of the city - the Red House, dedicated to She-Who-Massacres-and-Heals. This was also when the khonsurians asked their goddess to split the sphinxfolk into two different beings - the bipedal khonsurians and the centaur-leonine sagitary, so the latter would be more robust for the bloody work of war and the Khonsurians would need to rely less on foreign mercenaries.
Tumblr media

The corruption and madness unleashed among the sphinxes by their delving into the forbidden Far Realm also left its mark on the city. Many a manse of a sphinx became an abattoir dedicated to pulling more whispers from that mad non-world. In the purging of the city, these homes were sealed and pulled underground, making them sealed tombs known as the Vaults of Sanctified Thought, while the worst offenders were taken out of the city and buried alive in even more elaborate oubliettes.
The Sand City, the Rise of Mortals, and the Long Isolation
The War against the Giants saw Sarkhaen Tair besieged for years by the forces of the Primordials. Their cults and agents sought to liberate the enslaved dao and ifrit in the inner city, and legions of elemental myrmidons and giants assaulted the Serpent Wall. It was only with the rise of the Warrior-Queen Pharaoh that the city was saved, but the mortal districts of the city remained unrepaired as she then threw the kingdom's resources into wars to reclaim the Lower Kingdom and Qaysarria. With Apophis’ betrayal of the Pharaoh, the possibility of any strong return of the Kingdom of Knowledge was lost. The remaining sphinxes essentially let the kingdom be run by the viziers and the mortal priests, and much was done simply to preserve what could be saved, turning instead of living in nostalgia the dawn of civilization when Ilsundal's dream seemed undiminished.
The mortals went to work to rebuild where they could with the magics available to them. This made the city take on a far-more traditional shape, sustained by the labour and toil rather than divine magics. As the sphinx made museums and memorials of their manses, a sort of living entombment, the mortals rebuilt the renamed Middle City, and loyalist refugees, and self-interested settlers formed the new outer city - or the Sand City as the sphinxes named it, as it ebbed and flowed with time, never immortal as the rest of the city seemed to be.
When Tiamat was captured by the demons of the Abyss and the foretold creation-ending Dusk War seemed imminent 20 years ago, it was almost welcomed by the sphinxes of Khonsuria, a final ending to their long failure to uphold their duty as the beacon of knowledge for Creation. Those still loyal to the dynasty of Ilsundal and Ioun struggled with revolutionaries and cults who wanted the temples pulled down and the Archives used for the benefit of those struggling to survive.
One family of loyalists in the Sand City, held dear to a secret gift, a treasure left with them by a mysterious stranger - a sphinx cub, the only one of the Pharaoh's litter to survive her assassination and the ensuing struggle for one of the jewels of Tiamat. This foundling sphinx lived among the illiterate but pious mortals, learning the traditional stories and wisdom collected by these short-lived creatures, and learned how even in such meager conditions, Ilsundal's gifts were cherished.

George Harrison at the Chelsea Flower Show on 24 May 1999. Photo by Richard Young (?).
In connection with a recent post about a memorial service in England for George’s family and friends in the summer of 2002, here are Jim Keltner’s recollections about the California memorial service, held in December 2001...
“It was an extraordinary sky. I mean extraordinary, without exaggerating. The clouds were swirling in slow motion, and the color was a deep orange — it was so George, man, and I can say from my heart that George was out there on the astral plane. I just felt him. Everybody agreed. We just knew. To this day, I feel George like that. I’m a Christian, and a friend of mine has a beautiful way of explaining the difference between our faith and his. She says he had a kind of advanced scientific version of who God is. Not that I understand that, and I don’t need to, really. But I like it. I like how it makes me feel, because if that’s true then it means we’re all connected and we’ll all be together again someday. If God is a gracious God, a God of love, as I understand Him to be, then I believe that there is some reward for this man in God’s kingdom, and he’ll be there when we think of him. Anytime we think of him, he’ll be with us. I just love the idea of that.” - Jim Keltner, Here Comes The Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison (2006) (x)

From the highest mountain tops where great magical beings reside, to the lowest latitudes where murky swamps can be found... But that's not all this creature has seen.
It has seen all kinds of strange lands as it's gone about it's many duties; a great swampland inhabited by strange anthropomorphic amphibious creatures, immense woodlands filled with secrets and weirdness alike, a peculiar civilization perched upon the remains of a long since dead and decayed giant, an ancient kingdom straight out of history books depicting ancient Mesopotamia, an immense ocean and more.
It was a task that it started as far back as the Keyblade War (Whatever that meant), and continued on even to this day...
...
And it likely would STILL be continuing on this task had it not been for that... That boy.
------------------------------------
The day began like any other. That strange, ominous figure was drawn to a great mountain where a warrior had been sent flying after a mighty battle. The warrior was not unlike everyone else it had come across, yet another poor, foolhardy young man, taken well before his time. Ah, but it wasn't for the figure to judge. Just to do it's job-
"RIKU!!!"
And that was when the trouble started.
But no.
"HEY WAIT!" "HOLD STILL!" "ENOUGH!!" "STOP THAT!" "HEY!" "HEY STOP!!"
Seven times does that boy give chase. The mysterious figure vanishes into the ether, it's body having taken too much punishment and unable to continue on.
And when that figure disappears? The Dreamer feels it again. Hope. Optimism...
Opportunity.
So the dreamer travels. It travels and travels and travels and travels...
Well away from the places he/she/they once knew...
Tumblr media
Until, one day, they finally find-
"Gabe! Gabriel wake up! Gaaaaabe!"
-? Huh-?
------------------------------------------------- Light. Illumination. Blinding...
Awakening...
"May your Heart be your Guiding Key, my stubborn little student~."

Welcome! You have reached the Storybook Sacntuary.
The Storybook Sanctuary is the designation I have given for the multiverse within Pillow Club; my main story, which is also a crossover story that I indulge all my silly little middle school multifandom alternate universe ideas in.
Cringe is a concept created to shame people for not fitting into a societal standard. They say "be yourself", but when "yourself" is strange and unalike what people deem "normal", they detest you.
We don't do that here.
Welcome to a multiverse of my making; complete with fictional biomes, fictional flora, fictional animals, fictional races, fictional diseases, even fictional drugs. Likely even more than what's listed!
Many of these species and the such belong to AUs of existing stories that I have lovingly strayed so far from canon that it's like comparing a meerkat to a moose. This blog, as of writing this, is extremely new, so be patient and I shall deliver all kinds of unique worldbuilding for you to savour.
For reference on the overall theme of my stories:
My universes tend to be urban-fantasy (almost always an alternate version of Earth) with a world much better than Earth, yet holding its own unique struggles and turmoil. Consistent themes include childhood, imagination, healing from trauma, and commentary on negative real-world problems, but many more have their own unique themes and morals and the such.
I try to keep things for the most part at most PG-13, but some of my worldbuilding may include NSFW concepts, as a result of my passion for sexual psychology. Any and all NSFW on this blog is strictly meant to be in an informal, non-meant-to-get-you-feeling-spicy way, and I would like to remind you all that I do not condone the shipping of minors and adults, feral animals and anthropomorphic/humanoid animals, relatives, corpses and the living, non-consenting parties, nor those with abusive dynamics.
For my DNI, as well as information on me as a whole, check here:
Let me tell you the universes I will be covering:
The Faetasiism Afterlife, where likely most of my worldbuilding will be, which is the primary afterlife for almost every universe of mine. It is composed of five sections; The Celestial Plane ("Heaven"), the Fantasy Plane ("Purgatory"), the Sundown Plane ("Limbo"), the Botanical Plane ("Tophet"), and the Cataclysmic/Terminal Plane ("Transition"). The designations in parentheses are not accurate to the actual plane, but rather translations often used by those who arrive there.
The Celestial Plane - Heavily inspired by liminal space/"dreamy" aesthetics, it is a mostly grassland-esque world with the occasional forest or mountain, as well as many fictional biomes, for those who are rested. It is divided between six regions: The Ranks, the Beaters, Greater Ethereal, Mainland, Empyrean Falls, and the Astral Kingdom.
The Fantasy Plane - Heavily inspired by fairycore/cottagecore/goblincore aesthetics, it is a massive, hot and humid dense rainforest/jungle/more rarer but still common deciduous forest and wetlands world for those whom still have hate in their heart that needs rejuvenating. It has many floating islands and enchanted forests, as well as many custom biomes. It is divided between four regions: The Marsh, the Fire Zone, the Bleeding Willows, and the Fae Realm.
The Sundown Plane - This one was actually conceptualised during a very dark time in my life; facing a lot of trauma relating to my childhood and familial life. As a result, the Sundown Plane is a world for those that have either amused or disgusted Fa†e, the Force of Effect as well as an omnipotent necessary evil. It is colourless and rainy; there is a constant shadowed sun in the sky, hence its name. The only fauna/flora dwell within the silent, abandoned prisons that once hosted the horrors of those who've relived the worst. It is divided within Galatea, Daphnis, and Phobos.
The Botanical Plane - Heavily inspired by flowery, sunset/sunrise aesthetics, the Botanical Plane is an uplifting, eager plane that hosts those who are deemed too harsh or cruel to enter the Celestial Plane, and intends to help the souls who reside here become better enough to enter the Ranks. It is a very floral region, with flower fields, forested and taiga regions, grasslands, woodlands, marshes, mountain ranges, and of course, unique biomes exclusive to this afterlife. It is divided between the Mainland, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Envy, Greed, Sloth, Lust, and Infernal rings.
The Cataclysmic/Terminal Plane - Heavily inspired by deep underwater/thalassophobia aesthetics, Transition is essentially where souls reside to be looked over by the Forces (subject to change, I have an idea I might replace that with). It is also the permanent residence for any creature without a soul, but if the creature has a soul and shows signs of consciousness, its body is fed essence until it obtains a full soul. It is mostly a vast ocean where the ground can be anywhere, but also has a dark wilderness for every animal without a soul to relax eternally. It is divided between the Void Border, Roaring Waters, and Mainland.
The Dream Realm - An extremely large world that is the result of two deities, Matpsigills and Cosmo, whom spawned at the beginning of history, detonating their incomprehensibly vast brains in order to create consciousness. I could not list every segment as is, but some of them include the Empathy Tunnels, the Trauma Basin, the Reign of Inferiority + The Reign of Superiority, and the Hold-On Blues.
It is dominated by four sapient species; somnukins, sheep-like humanoids with incredibly potent reality-bending qualities and extremely high intelligence that are really pompous and vain about their smarts, somnacertos, goat/takin-like humanoids that make up almost the entirety of the farming and production of the Dream Realm, somnudalis, a domesticated variant of the proto-animal that the others evolved from that is a divine beast like angels and demons, and saint bernards , ironically-named organisms as they're actually anthropormorphic sheep dogs with the minds of humans used to keep somnukins in-check.
Considering the very small amount of true deities in my universe, the fact that the Dream Realm even has two is rather impressive, even despite their permanently brain-damaged nature. The remaining neurons of the Dream Realm produced proto-somnicks, which would later become the dominant species (excluding SBs), and the grey matter become eldritch horrors, the native wildlife of the Dream Realm. Ever wonder why you hardly remember your dreams? That's because your brain is kindly protecting you from being exposed to their dangerous properties.
The Void - A world that exists outside of the reach of the Forces. It is entirely eigengrau; with a slushy substance covering each ground, wall, and even whatever sky it has. The Void has many sapient life that appears to have existed since the start of the Void; it is impossible to tell, however, as there is no Time in the Void.
It is almost entirely devoid of happiness, as some indiscernible force within the Void prevents the feeling of such. Despite this, the residents of the Void indulge in simple pleasures, even if their society is rather miserable.
The Gablocking Hollows - This one's an original story meant to be the story of a non-original character.
It's an urban-fantasy world taking place entirely within one several-continent-sized building, dominated primarily by organisms known as chimeras, which are essentially animal-like creatures that have certain qualities be genes. For example, say a chimera with bat ears and a chimera with wool have a love child, then the offspring will likely have bat ears and wool!
In the story it takes place in, the world is slowly healing from a horrible dictatorship. It's meant to be relaxed and feel-good as things continue to get better, never worse, and everyone starts to heal from their trauma in-spite of the dark history.
Pillow Club - (see: @traumabasin)
Pillow Club is a massive crossover story that takes place in an unexplored (shut up I know Iceland is fully explored) territory in Iceland, with four (five?) towns of a place called Secret Acres (Leynibær). There are countless (and I mean COUNTLESS) different species in Secret Acres.
The plot of its worldbuilding is basically "what if dozens upon dozens of different fictional universes all had one meet-up spot that some people ended up in and decided to just live in (some against their will)?
There's more but I have been writing this pinned post for like two hours now and I need to spot before I go shrieking in the hall of lull.
Enjoy your stay here!

Raise your gaze to forces high, No consciousness can hold
Chariots of undying fire, With wheels of things unknown
Pain will morph to lies, As peaceful decimation flows
Across the land to cleanse the damned, Make room for sacred growth
Picture me in agony, Decaying skin and bones
Time has come to set me free, My shackles will be shown
Levitate to higher planes, Across the spectral skies
Eclipse between the mind and things, That no longer are mine
Alchemy flows deep in me, The elemental core
Spiraling infinity, Above so too below
Waves of life in rays of light, Cascading evermore
History is mine to speak, The voice of cosmic lore
Enter thee and shatter me, Our fractals will collide
In such a way that none can say, This truth can be denied
Relegate the strands of fate, To garments so divine
And lay across the astral plane, Our purpose realigned
Now I see it's up to thee, To navigate these tides
Believe in be as I believe, The kingdom will be fine
Separate the wants and needs, And strength will find the pride
With eyes to see through heresy, The moonlight through the night
Ride the sacred tide to the emptiness
Across the great divide to the nothingness
An eye and God collide into wholiness
Alive we are Divine in this time and space
Envelope me
In mastery
of peace in the abyss
Anoint my feet
with energy
to scale these hallowed cliffs
Cleanse these lips
That I may spill
No poison from my heart
Spread this body
Over waters
Pray ashes drift apart

#i NEED you to expand upon your defensive buffs thots because i also have thots omg (via @holdmecloser-gandydancer)
*cracks my knuckles* kravitz possessing inanimate objects as:
- a practicality thing (the crystal golem is going to have a higher ac than a humanoid body, and it's easier to be stealthy if can blend into your environment... literally)
- a way to stretch his creative muscles... see: impersonating a god inhabiting a crystal to crystallize merle's arm
- a safety precaution... the only time the boys see kravitz's face during the crystal kingdom (when he has an active bounty) is when he's in the mirror... aka in the astral plane, safely secreted away from danger (he thinks)
to me what's interesting about this is that his "true" form seems to be the glowing orb. his soul! we don't know a lot about what kravitz's whole “deal” is, but in my experience fanon usually views his flesh body as a construct created and given to him by the raven queen - something conjured, something that he possesses like any other inanimate object.
you'd think that if something like that is not completely invulnerable, it'd at least be able to regenerate, right??? so if it gets destroyed in battle, sure, it’d suck, but it's not a total loss because eventually he'd be able to re-conjure it. so why’s he so protective of it?
my #thots: inanimate objects like the crystal golem are just that. objects. the flesh body feels pain. so maybe it’s just that... the boy doesn't want to get hurt? that's fair! but in that case it's also interesting to see the lengths the literal grim reaper goes to avoid getting hurt. a fun character choice!
alternatively, what if it's not a construct? what if it's his actual body, like the one he lived and died in, preserved and sustained by the raven queen's magic? then it'd make a lot more sense as to why he's got such a vested interest in keeping it safe. (it also adds a little something-something re: his heart restarting bc of love :-))
- fourth point: kravitz possessing things to fight as a means to distance himself from ??? the work? the living? the material plane? something about not needing to play at being a person if he doesn't look like one... and he's spend a long time with, as far as we know, only a goddess for company... so it's probably easier for him to not have to put on that kind of show while he’s working!
(and on that note: very inch resting that he puts on his face both times he goes to see taako. very inch resting indeed)
