i don't really get these Naruto Confessions that say "Shikaino shippers are delusional, hypocrites, clowns, war freaks, stupid etc," and it goes on and on and on. augh i just can't believe ya'll still stuck in that 2011-2013 toxic shipping mindset. grow up.
sure, you may have experienced it with some—i'm not invalidating your "real" exchanges with them, I apologize in behalf of those who spewed harmful arguments instead of a healthy discussion. No one should be bullied cuz of their preference for shipping fictional characters.
Hear me out tho, most of us OG Shikaino shippers (those who started way back in the Genin Era) do not have the energy to fight with all of ya'll.
we're just here minding our own business, making art, making fanfics, making playlists and drabbles of our lovely OTP. It's like ya'll are just making hatred where there are none. The anti's are the ones hurling insults our way and most of us just brush them off.
I just saw a post saying that, us Shikaino shippers shouldn't ship them in the first place cuz we just romanticize healthy friendships. Uhm, what? it's like they've never seen people turn to friends to lovers in real life ?? Yes, not all friendships develop into romantic relationships, that's normal, it's natural... and yet, people i know IRL including myself chose romantic partners based on our healthy relationship as friends first. see what i mean ??
so how about learning things from our perspective, have a dialogue with us and if you still don't like it, then we won't force you to. you have our own opinions and i respect you for them but, when you breed something hateful in our little shikaino community then, it's best you pack up and leave cuz we don't tolerate someone who speaks thru their ass.

Being a sasusaku fan and disliking sai/ino is one of the loneliest things in the world. Like why do i always have to be cursed with having unpopular opinions? I always have to see that pairing everywhere next to sasusaku. (＊Л＊） There’s even people that compare the ships to being similar or that say that sai/ino is superior and i just:

the first character i ever fell in love with: Ino forever and always. Was it because I have really long hair and she has really long hair AND she wears my favorite couple? MaybE but then I just fell in love with who she is as a character.
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: Shikamaru. I’m in a neutral ground with him now but I used to really love him back in the day. I don’t dislike him or anything now, but I am bummed and do feel that he took up way too much time from the other members of team 10 and that really bothered me because they deserved to be recognized for their contributions too. I still think Shikamaru is a good and solid character, but I feel they messed up his development a bit and I just wish other characters were also acknowledged as much as he seemed to be.
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: ...NaruHina??? Well, here is the thing. I still love the idea of NaruHina and I still really like NaruHina but I do not like the NaruHina that came to be in canon. I feel like they dropped the ball in developing them after the big pain arc moment because there was really no communication after it with it and then there was this huge gap of interaction in general and then they give us those few war moments and that was supposed to make up for it??? Nah.
my ultimate favorite character™: Ino Yamanaka. She is genuinely a really good character and she really proved throughout the years what a thoughtful friend she was and really worked hard to do her best for those around her. She experienced a lot of grief and still managed to power through it went they needed her most, even after hearing her father’s last words not even a few minutes prior.
prettiest character: Ino Yamanaka. If not Ino, then Mei Terumi. The prettiest guy is Kakashi or Neji.
my most hated character: that one kid who slammed the door in little gaara’s face when he tried to give her medicine. she can fIGHT ME. also gaara’s dad. Danzo too. All the other characters I used to hate a lot I’ve just gone neutral on really--- but I won’t say shippuden and beyond Sasuke is someone I care for, though I’m rewatching part 1 naruto and I realized I actually found him enjoyable back then.
my OTP: ShikaIno. It will be my OTP for eternity. They had the chemistry, the banter, the aesthetic, the history, and they had solid buildup imo. I always pick the couple that don’t come to be canon though. It’s just my lot in life.
my nOTP: SasuSaku/ShikaTema. SasuSaku on a MUCH bigger level because none of the toxic ish that went down ever got resolved between them and they’re essentially not even together if they're married. I remember being neutral on the back in the early parts of naruto but once shippuden happened they just got worse and worse. As for ShikaTema, never felt anything for this ship and didn’t see any sparks for it in general. Also felt like Temari ended up getting reduced to just Shikamaru’s love interest by the end of the show which is frustrating because she was intriguing and different so I wish she got explored more as just Temari. I’m not some huge anti of it or anything, just not a ship I vibe with. I’m really just of the mindset of ship what you want dudes.
favorite episode: there’s a million episodes------ actually, the one with Rock Lee and Gaara’s fight- just hands down. That is the best fight the series ever had. It was never topped. NEVER.
saddest death: this is hard for me because a few of them really HIT me. I’m gonna go with Jiraiya because I literally stopped watching Naruto for a good while when I got to that death--- it was too much. The only other deaths that made me cry were Inoichi and Shikaku because I could not believe they killed off more of team 10′s loved ones like HOW DARE YOU--- The death that made me the most angry was Neji’s though-- like that was BS. They just killed him for the sake of shock value ‘cause they felt like they needed to kill at least one Konoha 11 members and he got PLAYED. He never even got to live with any real freedom. It’s mad frustrating whenever I think about it. What they should have done is have Hiashi sacrifice himself to save Neji so that he could make up for letting his dad get murdered in his place and for all the year that Neji was treated terribly in general. I think that would have been a MUCH more profound death scene then having Neji die for the sake of Hinata as if his dad didn’t already die for the sake of both her father and her. I love Hinata, but absolutely hated that Neji was sacrificed for her and Naruto essentially. It was a dumb move.
favorite season: Chuunin Exams Arc. It was the best arc.
least favorite season: everything after the obito reveal but ESPECIALLY anything after that kaguya nonsense
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: used to hate sasuke a lot, now I’m neutral on him. I think it’s probably because he got so played in Boruto that I actually feel bad for him
my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: Orochimaru. He is by all means, horrible, but yet one of the classic villains in Naruto and just overall enjoyable because of his strangeness.
my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: I’m just saying lee because he deserves only good things always
my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: don’t really have that for naruto.
my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: SaiIno. They’re the only canon ship that came out to anything good and they were one of the ones that had the least interactions and a pretty lame start when you consider his ‘gorgeous’ meant ugly. However, their marriage seems to be the only overall happy one and they seem to have a good relationship with their son so I’m happy for them in that regard.

Just out of curiosity, why are you Anti ShikaIno? (I forgot this pairing even existed if I'm being honest here. XD )
I was indifferent until I saw the hate they pushed onto Sai, calling him names like heartless, coldhearted, etc, and constantly referring to him as a "Sasuke Clone" when I love SaiIno which in turn lead me to be anti their pairing
Basically the fandom is the reason I ended up finally having a NOTP of my favorite girl, nothing against the pairing itself but Sai is his own character and nothing like Sasuke at all, also they bash Ino herself by making that claim and calling her so obsessive as to marry a man that happened to look like her childhood crush just based off his appearance alone?
