Platonic relationships can be just as strong, if not, stronger than romantic ones. Because platonic relationships can be pushed further into sibling-hood.

Genuinely shameful. It’s like these people have never experienced a strong friendship. And to turn an anime that solely focuses on friendship and teamwork into something entirely else—seriously?

Leave the characters and the story be. It’s embarrassing.

A lot of people already talked about the symbolism behind Naruto and Sasuke's zodiac signs, how it follows the theme of "wind makes fire stronger and keeps it alive" but it also applies to other characters? Like, Team Seven is formed by Kakashi (Virgo), Naruto (Libra), Sasuke (Leo) and Sakura (Aries), and after Sasuke leaves, Yamato (Leo) and Sai (Sagittarius) join the team. Team Taka is formed by Sasuke (Leo), Suigetsu (Aquarius), Karin (Gemini) and Juugo (Libra), probably a reference to how he recruited them to help him achieve his revenge. Speaking of Sasuke's family, they also follow this pattern, Fugaku (Leo) married Mikoto (Gemini) and had Itachi (Gemini) and Sasuke (Leo). Also water zodiac signs are probably part of the symbolism, because water can put off fire. Both Orochimaru (Scorpio) and Kabuto (Pisces) are threats to Sasuke (Leo).

100% agreed on the whole way naruto shippers clearly do not actually care about or like madara and sasuke. for example fucking sasusaku shippers clearly do not notice or care about how sasuke is miserable fighting for some village that ruined his life and that no one knows the truth about the uchiha massacre they just see him as some strong skinny twink bishie boi who is only nice to their precious self insert sakura they see him as a thing for sakura. don't even get me started on fucking tobirama x madara or the toxic tobirama stans in general, i have seen horrific shit of madara being violently raped by tobirama on ao3 as a punishment of his crime for "being an uchiha who hasn't been humbled". the sad thing is that i have seen crossover romance shipping fanfic that actually respects both madara and sasuke as characters (making sure they ain't OOC or stripped of their nuance/personality) and they have more chemistry with characters from different anime/manga series. both madara and sasuke deserve better from this damn fandom than just being hashirama and naruto's cute little waifus who constantly get kidnapped like Princess Peach and get pregnant with uchiha babies like a fucking Uchiha baby factory.

So real!!! I think one of the reasons why this happens sometimes is because a lot of naruto fans/shippers are very pro konoha, so anything that Madara or Sasuke do is instantly a crime against humanity to them, so in order to make their ship work they have to take their morals and issues away from Madara and Sasuke, so they "aren't evil" anymore.

Also, that last part about t*birama/madara is so true. I mean, aside the fact that Madara would never be able to forgive him for killing Izuna, Tobirama also just had zero respect for him as a person. Tobirama felt no empathy for the Uchiha, and to pretend that he would set that aside for Madara is just insane to me. It's fine as a crack ship or if you write it to be intentionally toxic (which can be fun sometimes), but just taking away all the nuance these two characters have to make them fuck??? why?? Like, with hsmd I atleast understand where people are coming from, childhood friends trope and all, but what is the appeal of tobimada? No one who actually likes Madara would be able to ship tobimada, and no one who actually likes Sasuke would be able to ship sasusaku.

Madara and Sasuke definitely deserved sooo much better, they deserved loving people who actually respected them and their dreams (and no hsrm did not respect mdr's dreams while he was still in the village let's not play pretend).

They claim SS fans don't understand Sasuke's character yet a lot of them have created this image of Sasuke in their mind that isn't true to canon.

For example, although Sasuke does care for Naruto, he doesn't think about him much during Shippuden (Unless Naruto was confronting him). Naruto was the "obsessive" or "clingy" one yet SasuNaru fans headcanon Sasuke like he was crazy-obsessed with Naruto..

Yeah I don't think either of them fit those descriptions, but Naruto was definitely the closer fit between the two of them. I mean, Sasuke explicitly vented his frustrations to Naruto during the Land of Iron arc because the latter was continuously messing with his business.

I believe dragging down other characters being your only source of making your favorite character look “good” is the worst way to “prove” anything. You aren’t proving anything you’re basically telling me that your character isn’t good enough to be spoken about that you have to drag other characters into it.

Take Hinata for example. I’m shocked there’s people who dislike her in the first place, but the amounts of Sakura-bots absolutely shaming her and dragging her through dirt is ridiculous, just to prove that their pink haired girl is better (she’s not). Same goes for Temari, Ino, and Tenten. They feel threatened by Tenten, bffr.

And trashing on Hinata and Naruto’s relationship is definitely crazy. I made an entire blog about Hinata and she isn’t even my favorite at all. I’ve admitted the focus was very sudden and there were flaws but that’s mainly because of Kishimoto’s obsession with the Uchiha/Sasuke Uchiha. Other than that, their relationship and love story were pretty solid.

…Sasuke and Sakura shippers will immediately jump to Naruto and Hinata when their own ship is spoken about and are we surprised really? What’s so enjoyable about a toxic relationship filled with immense and voluntary neglect?

These shippers are so insecure they’ll somehow manage to drag Sai and Ino too, and let me fucking tell you. They have to be the second best healthiest couple after Kushina and Minato.

There are reasons why I don't speak about naruto with my irl friends.

At least not about Sasuke.

Yesterday my friend and I touched briefly on the topic of Naruto and pairings.

And she was like: I don't ship SasuN*ru anymore because it's toxic and because of all things Sasuke has done. Poor Naruto!

And I wanted to scream and argue but I didn't because it was a pleasant evening and I haven't wanted it to explode into an argument of epic proportions.

But really? Really?! "Because of what Sasuke has done"? What has he done exactly? He was an initiator of their friendship when he decided to feed Naruto at the beginning of team 7? Jumped between Naruto and Haku's needles? All the things that came later? Decided to cut his ties with Naruto because Itachi come and tortured him again reminding him that there's a reason he can't have nice things? Because Itachi was after Naruto ( and nine tails). Because cutting ties with his best friend eliminated even a possibility of killing him for mangekyo. Because he refused to be like his brother. Because he refused to head that way even if it's a promise of power.

Being against Konoha later on? Do I need to say about what happened to his family and why?

Even than, what exactly that is so unforgivable he has done toward Naruto?

Refused to return to Konoha? ( which put him on the renegate list in the bingo book and sent Sai with team 7 to kill him).

Killed Danzo ( yes a Hokage at the time) for what has been done to Uchiha? Sorry but man deserved that for Uchiha and more. I doubt that if Naruto learned that something like that happened to his family he would have reacted better. Honestly I think he would have gone straight to nine tails mode not caring for who was around at the time. Learning that that man has implanted body parts of his family? I wander what his reaction would have been. He is not most rational guy.

Sasuke threatening Konoha? Well it was just a threat and he hasn't acted on it.

What exactly so bad has he done?

That talk when Itachi gives Naruto the way to brainwash Sasuke into being good obidient Konoha soldier and Naruto do not rise any objections - this is what buried this pairing for me. And later on Naruto's decision to sweep what happened with Uchiha under the rug? Yes this.
