Here’s the full interview Amazing Heroes did with Steve Purcell, creator of Sam and Max. This is from April 1990, three years after some successful issues and two years before Bad Day on the Moon, which Purcell mentions here on “hoping to finish.” Featured here are Steve Purcell's experiences revolving his authorship of a Gumby and Pokey story, a cancelled Batman comic, meeting Sergio Aragones at then named CCAC, and, most importantly, the convoluted origins of fizzball.

Amazing Heroes #152, November 1988, Black Orchid cover by Dave McKean
Interviews of Neil Gaiman by Peter Sanderson and Dave McKean by Andy Mangels. Always fun to travel back in time and see Neil talk about his upcoming comics, Miracleman and Sandman... and this quote remains true to this day:

Apart from being a piece of apocalyptic fiction and an investigation of a parallel world, The Watchmen is also a murder story and a detective story. Right from the first issue you have this obsessive, paranoid, psychotic detective working through a doomed America trying to find somebody who’s killed the Comedian.
Dave Gibbons & Alan Moore on Watchmen (1986) in Amazing Heroes #97, June 1986.

Amazing Heroes No. 191, June 1991 featuring interviews with Brian Bolland and John Bolton. From memory they tried to get a third British artist for this (whose work would have featured in the third 'stripe' on the cover) but it didn't happen for whatever reason. Can't remember who it was, might have been Dave McKean.
