announcement! i finished the chainshipping fic i slaved over for two weeks, a first for me because i normally get burnt out. i’d appreciate if you gave it a read, plus since i’ve written the whole thing i’m not gonna leave it unfinished like the others. otherwise just enjoy the chainshipping art i guess

Advertising has always been about telling people what they want and why they need it, but it’s impressive how far companies will go now. An increasing hostility towards their target market, reshaping platforms to be less user-friendly and less informative, every day a new hoop to jump through and a new pitfall to avoid.

There’s bending over backwards and then there’s breaking your own spine.

#literally every aspect of the internet has been consumed by advertising interests #and you really have to stand back and admire how the benefits of forums and news sites and search engines #were steamrolled by companies wanting to make that extra .006 cents for the click on an ad for a product they never buy.#ad execs still think eyeballs are a direct correlation to people caring. and it’s not.#the more obtrusive and inescapable advertising becomes the less it matters #you think if you corner people and grab them by the face and force them to look then they’ll see why they need Your Thing #but odds are if they realize you’re forcing them to look then there’s a reason why

As good as the finale was I am still left in serious want for more storyline for the Tuskegee Airmen because wow they really got a quarter of an episode in ep8 and maybe 3 lines in this ep and we're supposed to be good?

We really should have had scenes with them across more episodes, and gotten at least a fraction of their story because the way they were shown really showed almost nothing

#there's also plenty of other issues #i saw someone talk much better about the jewish rep scenes we got in this ep than i ever could #but i was very uncomfortable with solomon being the one to help that nazi up #it was just unnecessary #like even if it was accurate it really felt out of place and bad #and im not the one to talk in depth about the tuskeegees either #that's not my place #but i am sincerely dissapointed because they featured heavily in the advertisements #and it feels wrong that they got advertised like their stories would be told when they didn't really do more than show a page of their stor #like i loved so much of the series #but it needed to be longer and it needed to cut C plots to benefit B plots #and they could have done more to do a perspective swap at various times more #so we wouldn't get stalled so much with the nothing going on at the pow camp so often and instead met any of the new guys after e5 really #dana rambles #mota #masters of the air #mota spoilers

does the fact that maybe.... 25-50% of the time, i seem to be much, much better at rhetoric and message-crafting than anyone else in the room [union meeting] i am in, indicate that i have a moral duty to go full-time union organizer and be really all-in on Comms and Messaging

#what if i hate 1. anything that smacks of Advertisement and 2. social media #it's just that sometimes it's very clear that no one has ever said #''so what value‚ that we know the people we're speaking to hold‚#is this extremely vague philosophical benefit that we claim is a reason to support us supposed to actually cash out to''#and once you do that. you can actually write something using that point. because you have figured out why the fuck you are saying it #box opener #now you would not anticipate from my sentence structure here that i am actually good at rhetoric #but that's because i just spent the better part of several hours trying to compress several novel and underarticulated points #into a series of snappy yet interlocking 1-minute speeches for a moderately hostile audience #and now i have to do 9pm labwork. so i have nothing left for arranging clauses for you in a way that is sensible &not merely grammatical.#i'm actually not sure if this is really a capacity specific to Messaging or if it's just the most obvious to me as a trait no one else has #when we are Messaging. because Messaging makes people stupid #and the rest of the time things hook back up into real information enough that people besides me notice whether things make any sense.

Ok I think it's finally time to give my thoughts on the kink discourse and pro/anti ship etc in my own words bc it's been a hot topic lately and god do I have thoughts . Under the cut because this will be long

I think policing what people can and cannot write based off moral value is a slippery slope and will never just end at things that actually hurt people, especially not in a society that sees gay and trans people existing as actively harmful. That's sadly just how it kind of works. Which is why I try my best to block and move

However like.... to say things like unsanitary fetishes, or foot or latex or shortstack fetishes , or honestly even CNC/rapeplay when done properly and properly tagged , is on the same level as things like incest or pedophilia is insane to me.

I will not judge what two consenting nonrelated adults do in their own privacy and what they choose to roleplay is their business but on the Internet especially , the things you post and the content you make can and will affect people, this is a reality and responsibility you need to accept.

A lot of my opinions come from the fact I Was groomed online, exposed to things way too young by a grown adult and several older teenagers when I was barely a teen myself. Shotacon and incest stories and roleplay were something I was subjected to a lot. And something so many other children also will be, and I think that's something people just need to accept.

I think "we need to stop pedojacketing trans people, especially trans women, for enjoying kinks that are 'unacceptable'" and "don't police what others do to cope if it isn't harming them or others directly" as well as "Internet Grooming and pedophilia are real things that happen and not some boogeyman scenario" and "yes trans people can be pedophiles or do things that put children or adults at risk" aren't like contradictory information

But ... I guess like , it is difficult to know what to do huh , it should be a parents job to protect their kids and monitor their access but I know at the very least I didn't do shit to tell my parents what I was going through because being grounded or being monitored was seen as a punishment and I needed a space away from them

in relation to the insurance for enhanced individuals post - i am 100% sure ive come across a, "my insurance doesn't even cover powered individual incidents!" joke in a comic at least once. i also can't help but think jane is exactly the kind of person to make a joke like that. like sure, she'd definitely put that she's enhanced on her insurance for better benefits 'n whatnot if only not for the horrible, horrible man in the white coat behind her.
